I went to scratch my nose the other day when I was laying down and instead of going outside my nose my finger went IN it and scratched it up pretty bad. At first I just thought "Ow" but didn't think about it much and then realized that my hand was covered in blood.

I bled through a ton of tissues, to the point where I was actually getting scared. I was shocked at how much a little scratch bled.

Could this be pregnancy related, or was it just an odd coincidence?

I'm not in your birth group, but thought I would answer anyway - it COULD be related to pregnancy, because you could be a bit low on iron (which is often a side effect of pregnancy), and low iron means your blood finds it hard to clot - therefore you bleed a lot more profusely.

I'd go speak to your GP and ask for a haemoglobin test to make sure your iron levels are okay. HTH :)

It is probably a preg thing. I had occasional nose bleeds when pregnant with my first. I basically never get them other than when i am pregnant. My Dr just said it was due to the increased amount of blood in my system, and it was nothing to worry about, as long as they stopped quickly. I haven't had any with DS2 or this preg though. I also found i had them more on hot days than cooler ones, and only in the first trimester.
