View Full Version : smelly nappies!
i use baby bee hinds hemp and some cotton zappys. with the weather being so rainy, they are not getting any sun on them and are taking days to dry. end result is some funky smelly nappies!
how do i get it out???
Try a hot wash with no detergent and some white vinegar in the final rinse.
Also something I do (which I know I propably shouldn't, but if you don't have any PUL it's okay..) I bought a water soluble lavender oil from the supermarket...
it's called Eureka Lavender Oil: Water Soluble.
It disperses in water, so doesn't leave a film. I mix about 10 drops with a 1/3 cup water, and put that in the final rinse.
So I suppose you could do a hot wash with vinegar where the detergent would go, and some essential oil/water in the final rinse.
That should do it.
Or do a hot vinegar wash, then a short cold essential oil wash.

You could also try half a cup of bicarb soda in your wash, and rinse until they're not sudsy anymore.
cool thanks for that. will try on the next wash.
now here a really lame question (obviously laundry is not my favorite chore!)
with a front loader, how do you add things to the last rinse?!

Watch your machine really really closely?! :p
No, I'm sure that there's a cap that you can unscrew that you would put your softener in, if you were going to use softener - this only empties in in the last cycle, so put the vinegar in that...
