Hi everyone. There might already be a thread on this but not sure. I won a nappy and a PUL cover on ebay last week and they came in the mail today. I was just wondering Whether you can put the PUL cover in the washing machine or do you have to hand wash them. I have no idea because all the other covers i have a wool ones. Thanks everyone.

better than that - I'm pretty sure they can go in the dryer!!??? I'll double check - but I am pretty sure...

YUP - my PUL pockets (made of the same material) can go in the drier on medium heat...

I wash all my pul stuff in the washing machine on hot.... it is pretty tough stuff (just avoid vinegar... and chemicals like chlorine)

Everything that gets washed in my house goes in the machine (regardless of label instructions) and the PUL seems fine. I'm so glad to hear it can go in the dryer, because I've put mine in and I was just hoping it would be ok. Thanks veve!

I wash them with my nappies. I just hold my breath and tip the bucket into the washing machine quickly.

Now that my girl has started eating they are getting food stains on them. Do you think there would be any harm in soaking PUL covers in Napsan or something.

I think you CAN soak them- ( I dont actually have PROOF... but I know you can soak pockets once... should be the same?) I think it is only recommended as a ONE OFF thing... otherwise the napisan damages the elastic anyway...

sunlight wont remove the food stains?? I'm disappointed! LOL

I also soak everything in napisan :o

I just did a google search on sodium percarbonate (the stuff in napisan) and found out some things I didn't know....

It is environmentally safe :yelclap: - breaks down to oxygen, water and sodium carbonate

It doesn't damage fabric (I couldn't find anything about damage to elastic but I did search for it - nothing came up)

Pretty cool hey?

What about Bi-Carb to whiten! I find that works rather well!

Tea Lady, thank you, extra rhinestones for your bedazzler.

Veve, thus far I have been very impressed with the sun's ability to make poo stains disappear but no good for mango, peach or vegemite.

I am a bit cranky at myself because they were my new spotty tots bots one and the lavender ones from baby beehinds.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised myself, but it was on lots of websites, not just napisan.com

...extra rhinestones for your bedazzler You know what the world needs ......bedazzled nappies!! Maybe you could bedazzle over the stains?:)

I've found the sun does big fat 0 for food stains, except possibly baking them on more

I also think bananas should come with a warning label to soak affected clothes immediately - I've ruined more things that I can count with banana!

Are we talking about the new pink napisan or the older style. Maybe that would make a difference.

I thought the only thing bad for elastic was vinegar and using the dryer regularly.

I think you are onto something there. I see some hand embroidered nappies selling for nearly $50  Imagine the choking hazard.

Who would have thought banana was so insidious must look into that further :detective:

I just have the homebrand nappy treatment - it's the same as plain napisan.

mmmmm $50 for something that will get weed and pooed on.... I can see the logic

ooh yes - but if you are talking abou them on ebay - they are probably honeyboys ... STUNNING AIOs... STUNNING... I have to admit that I have ordered one (not embroidered though) so it will cost closer to $40 ...

if Jack poos in it I might have to stop him wearing it LOL ..

I love her honeyboys... she is a perfectionist... and her nappies are gorgeous to touch and look at :yelclap: trust me... if it was one of the honeyboys I have seen there is no way the threads are coming loose...

Hey you were just picking on my covers..........Even I don't have a Honeyboy :)

I do have a bamboo one and it is just so soft and lovely. My hemp ones go a bit hard.

They only poo in the nicest nappies they own, didn't you know that.

I think the pink one is a bit different, it is 32.5% sodium percarbonate with extra blue beads that boost the available oxygen to 3%. I think it works better anyway.

I don't own terry flats only the easy lazy ones. I wasn't having a go - slight case of wires crossed and a late night for me sorry veve :hugs:

Maybe Nic would like a bamboo nappy. They just get softer and softer with each wash.

I only have the tots Bots. I have ordered the Baby Beehinds Bamboo. If it is the same design as their hemp ones it is going to be a ripper.
