Im just wondering if it is bad to not have very regular check ups when expecting your second child...i have been to at least 7 appts throughout the pregnancy and had my 20weeks scan which was all normal...also ive been feeling baby move ALOT and just yeah hate my doctor so only going to see her when i feel like i have too...its been about 6weeks now since my last appt do u think i should make one or could i maybe wait a bit longer u think??

i havent had the 25week glucose test (currently25and a half weeks) but i did have that test at about 12 weeks cause my doctor is dumb and it came back all normal!

You generally go every 4 weeks until 28 weeks and then fortnightly until 36 weeks and then weekly. If your Dr does delivers babies and gives ante-natal care, he/she should know the regime.

I did think about going to another doctor...but thing is im 25weeks and it seems like a waste of time to swap now...also how do u change doctors when she was the one who has done all the blood tests ect so far?? she's just a GP she wont be delivering bub just doing the checkups...but she is rude and makes me feel uncomfortbale so i avoid seeing her unless i have too...

its very easy just make an appointment with a different doc and if u want to transfer info they can easily do that. 25weeks isnt to late. im pretty sure the glucose test is fine up until 28weeks. (thats what my doc said) i know how you feel about a rude doc. my appointments are barely 10mins if im lucky. if i want to put my point accross i just keep saying something untill she does it. but im just stubborn :D

Hope u find a nice doc soon

If you are uncomfortable with your doc I would definately find a new one.

Are you a public or private patient?

- If private...you should have found an obs already, so just go there for your monthly checks.
- If you are public, maybe do your checkups at the maternity hospital you have chosen. (if that is what you are already doing, maybe think about a different hospy)

Good luck :hugs:

im with public...wish i could do my appt at the hospy they were all lovely (midwifes) but i dont have my licence and rely on DH to take me to appt and the hospy is a 20min drive...thats why im seeing a GP....but i will look into a new doctor i think!

or if you arent keen on too many appointments just get your blood pressure checked at your gp or the chemist...but its probably a good idea to get your blood glucose checked...

i am going on 36 weeks and i havent been for a antenatal app for 7 weeks, because of christmas, which i think is stupid, they are supposed to be watching me closley  middy just said ur going good ill see you in 7 weeks, i have had 3 UTI's in that time and thats why they are ment to be watching me, the baby is still sideways and i am smaller than with my first and im worried :( sorry i had to realease it, lucky my app is tomorrow and i can find out some answers and have my anti D 2 Weeks late:no: and if there is anything wrong i say look out  Public Hospitals are useless anyway, stick with a GP.

If you are uncomfortable with your dr then I thing you should find another one.......Once you find a different Dr they can get your papers transferred over so thay have all the previous info and work form there......
