Well a happy happy new year to all and the little 1yr olds or almost 1 bubs!! :smiliedance:

I will give this a try, importing Tabby's post from the last of the Dec thread:
TABBY:
wild: sorry to hear of you miscarriage hun, all the best ttc
No success here and am still deciding if we will continue to ttc.

aries: Hope your resting and feeling better soon xx

DFB: So your actively ttc then?
Yep looks like will be just a small affair anyhow, probably max of 40.

Sleep, Katie seems to want to stay up later if anything! Huge arvo nap = 9, 930 bedtime, We try earlier but never works so have just resigned to thats what it will be at the moment.

Cordelia: How early depends on if shes sleeping till after sunrise? Some kids require longer sleeps than others and if shes wanting bed at 7pm and still sleeping till a reasonable hour I would just go with it
example:
ds1 7pm -9am
ds2 8pm-6am
Katie 8.30,9pm-830,9am

DS1 loved his sleep

Time for my arvo catch up nap...4 hrs a night then work I need a couple more in the arvo or would never make through to dinner time lol
Luckily Katie sleeps almost 3 hrs for me

Tabby hope a peaceful arvo sleep for you both! Must be nice having DF home to balance the much needed sleeps too! The wedding preparations sound good fun. Don't forget Hens night..or Hens arvo tea :goodvibes:

Also very sorry Wild at Heart to hear of yr miscarriage. Hugs! Also to Tired Mummies SIL. V sad for all.

Aries, so lovely to hear from you and hope that cold gets shooed off, v fast. So lovely hearing about Clea stomping in snow, am sure Xavier is also!!

YAH well we;re back from lovely (mostly) sea side holiday and have that kind of 'loose end' feeling. I should revel in it, as am sure its short lived. H takes hilarious steps (like a goose step) if held up, but thinks he's v clever. Gosh they can understand so much! He loves reading too, ditto Cordelia and the books! And will do some of the actions from the books, ie brushing hair himself. He slept and settled well down south, he was in a little pop up tent and us parents were next door in a tent. Lots of his relatives there to play with him and cherish him. Lovely seeing him playing in sand and sea with his Dad. But by end of week got sick of his lack of care for me, or appreciation, and his temper. But all happily home and thank goodness we live seperately! A happy stable home here..yikes, yes and one overcome by toys!

Well the v v v v best for all for 2008, :flowerz:the wonderful growing up of our Jan bubs and the amazing births of the little brother and sisters of some! Looking forward to seeing it with you all.

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Just a quick one... its very hot in melbourne today as it was yesterday & last night. Had enough of it. Longing for the cool change to come thru sometime this afternoon. The girls have all fallen asleep on the lounge room floor in front of the fans... poor things.
We spent most of the day yesterday at my mums place as she has air con then we came home around 10pm & one of our water pipes that is on the roof near the solar panels burst. It happened around 11pm, last night & of course cant get on to anyone about it today. Will have to wait til tomorrow but it sucks not having water, especially in this heat :(
Hope everyone has a great start to the new year.
Take care xx

Hi everyone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR:party:

All is good here, been super busy with christmas break and working heaps.

Matthew is so cute these days blabbing away in his own little lingo. (if only someone could translate for me). He is very close to walking, is just to lazy i think. he can stand on his own and will climb anything. He also fell in the bath the other day, lukily it was empty.

The little bugger today woke from his sleep and decided it would be a good idea to take his nappy off, (another new thing for him). I walked in to find him eating his own POO!!:barf::barf:. I couldn't believe it. He thought it was hilarious. I never thought i would have a child that would do this. Needless to say he will always have shorts or and all in one suit on from now on.

I am having a party for his birthday in 11 days and am not organised at all. I have ordered his bday cake and that is it.

Catch ya later

tabby no not actively TTC but I think I would like it. Need to convince DH first. I am 35 and he still thinks we are 25 and have all the time in the world for another.

Hope everyone had a good one.

Lukeandmattsmum yuk I wonder what they think when they decide poo is a good toy!:barf::laughing:

Ohhh kylie!!! That happened to me as well... oh dearrrrrrrrrrrr :P Good luck with the party organisation!

I'm sitting here freezing with the a/c on to try and cool the house down for later on. Is it worth it?!?

Charis - great that you had a good time... i think it's so lovely when they spend time with relatives. Caitlin has spent the week with her Uncle who she never sees (lives up north) and at first he had no idea what to do with her but last night they really enjoyed each other's company. yay!! And Hunter slept in a tent??? How did he enjoy that!! Did he settle ok?? Only asking as we're thinking of going camping a little later this year.

Anyway, better go do some work before miss wakes up.

Happy New Year peoples,

Hope you all enjoyed this new years lots more than last years. I can't help but think how fat and uncomfortable I was at this time last year.

I canned Mandurah for new years, decided I was too tired to pack everything up then drive safely there and home, that and I decided TJ sleeping in her own bed was more important. Heard the new year in when people nearby set off lots of crackers.

TJ is starting to get better at sleeping, last night was good with wakeups at 10.15, 3 and 5. Am only giving her water at night when she wakes. I've got everything crossed that she'll start to sleep through soon:fingerscrossed::sleeping:.

Tabby...love the birthday photo's. Agree with the small and personal wedding. I did almost everything for our wedding (invites, flowers, table dec, chocs, candle holders (have two wrought iron ones you can borrow for bridal table if you want)), bought the cost of the wedding right down.
Luke&MattsMum... LOL at the poo. TJ went to bed in a t-shirt and nappy last night and Cordelias poo-experience did cross my mind.

Starting to think Birthday Party. Have almost taken down all the Chrissy decs, will pull down the tree this weekend. Have bought lots of balloons. DD1 got a bubble machine for Christmas so (weather permitting) we'll have bubbles everywhere. Have got two cakes to cook when the weather calms down. Am going to make little ladybirds for daycare and a big one for her party. My only problem is finding party food that TJ can have (no dairy) all the good (bought) stuff has milk solids.I figure I can make piklets and fairy bread with her milk/butter, but aside from that I'm lost. Ideas welcome!

Had better go, lunch break is well and truely over,
Lisa

Happy new years everyone! Wwe had a nice one...i took a bottle of formula so i could have a few drinks...i had a few too many i think!

hey all - sorry i have MIA for a while....still trying to catch up with all the joys of full time work, life, home, husband and a very active one year old!!!

luke&mattsmum - know what you mean about the constant babble, and I am sure it makes so much sense to them!!
wildatheart- sorry to hear of your miscarriage.
charis - your holiday sounds great! glad the H could sleep in the tent!
birthday ideas - we had geoffrey's party with all our family and friends at our house, we decided to have finger food to make it easier, mini hamburgers in small bread rolls, sausages, chicken kebabs - which we made, homemade sausage rolls - yum!, party pies, fairy bread and cheese and nibblies, it all went well. made g's cake a pirate theme, we didn't even eat that cake as we had lots of other sweet things made by my family, choc mint flan, pavlova and slices. it was a great day!!

The big news for us is that we have found out we will be having a little girl, due 5 May 2008! well from the ultrasound they said 29 April, and considering Geoffrey came early, could be in April i think...

Yah, congrats on the news of a little girl.
Acacia...We'll be having a small family and close friends party. As it will most likely be hot (we're headed for 40 today), I'm hoping it won't be hotter than 35 on the day, we'll BBQ kebabs for the adults (having the stove on in the kitchen heating food up will not be viable) with salads. The kids can have honey crackles, fairy bread, piklets, little red sausages, cheezles etc. Though poor TJ is currently limited to what she'll be eating. My only worry is that someone will give her something with lactose and I'll end up having a shocking day/night with her. But I don't want to limit what the other kids can eat just because of TJ's diet restrictions. Will have to put a big sign on TJ "PLEASE DON'T FEED ME"

:smiliedance:A better night last night (even with the heat). TJ stirred but resettled about 10, 12.30, then woke at 5 for a quick drink. Almost feelign human this morning. Think it will take another week or more of good sleeps before I'll really notice any difference though.

Hope you other Perthies are surviving the heat. Have a cool day,
Lisa

So much to catch up on after a week away!

Congrats to Strawberry, Hubby & Big Brother Talon on the arrival of Tarni - gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl, hope she can come home soon!

Happy Birthday Macy!

Jacstar - congrats for a new pink bundle in the oven!

Big Hugs to Wild - if you ever need someone to talk to just let me know. I found the 'TTC after Loss' thread very comforting!

Tiredmummy, hope the water situation got fixed pronto and hope SIL is doing ok.

Cordelia, love the DH's getting a wake-up call every now and then, they forget how full-on it gets at home!

DFB, loved the footage of Clea with her wagon!

Tabby, sounds like lots of fun planning an intimate wedding- like someone else I tried not to mention the 'W' word when ordering stuff, although in some cases people go the extra mile for a bride-to-be! We had around 10 people at our wedding, in my mind the most important things were 1. Loved ones (if they haven't been to your home they don't get an invite) 2. Good Food/Beverages 3. Lots of photos 4. Beautiful wedding bands to last a lifetime (so I'm a jewellery nut but that stuff is around long after the day)
Sorry AF arrived, stay on the wagon and I will try to catch you TTC in March or so (must start taking folate, hubby finally said we could talk about it in March and I'm choosing to take that as a yes)

Acacia & Charis - Glad the xmas celebrations with x-xtended families worked out well.

Us - Xmas & NYs were great up at Mum's, even managed to stay up this year (first time since DS1 was a bub)

Unfortunately M decided to teethe badly while away and even though he slept thru the nights fine he was extremely irritable during the days. He is no longer 'Fang Boy' Then to top it off he scored tonsilitis as well! He was finally back to his normal cheery self today!

Here are some Chrissy pics, DS1
is Wiggles obsessed and loves Captain Feathersword.
M loves his FP rocking horse!

Jacstar: BIG congrats on a pink bundle to come!

Thanks for the wedding tips all.
Have Tuesday off so am going to try some dresses and arrange engraved candles for table gifts :D
It starts!

Am off to bed, am so tired after 4 x 3am starts, time to catch up before arvo/night shift starts 330pm tomorrow, though it be 11 hr shifts it doesnt seem as tiring as I get a good sleep plus a 4-5 hr break in work to nap in car if we want hehe not bad, paid to sleep lol

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Wild at Heart – Sorry to hear of your loss. :hugs::hugs:to you hun.

Jacstar – Congrats on your pink bundle.

Korahblue – happybirthday to Macy for yesterday I hope she had a great day.

SammyG – Thanks for the congrats. We can’t wait to get her home.

Me - Haven’t been on for a while. Been going to the hospital all day, every day to feed Tarni. Bub is improving. She should be home by next week. Had to go out and buy girlie clothes the other day. We honestly thought we were having another boy so it was a shock when we were told it’s a girl and didn’t even think she would be premmie. But its all good. We are still on :cloud9:

I’ve finally got a spare moment to get some pics up of Talon’s 1st birthday and Tarni.

Talon's birthday cake. Was planning to make one for him but just got outta hospital the day before.

WOW Tarni is so beautiful. Goodness! They truly begin so so little. She's just perfect Kels. Gosh. Does Talon come to hospital with you each day? How are the long feeds going? Am sure its all 300miles and hr, aka a complete blur, but what did happen with the birth? Waters broke? Did you end up with the planned C early?? What does Talon think of his little sister?? Oops so many questions. Sorry Just sleep and feed her and yourself you precious Mummy!! Theres a time for answering questions

WOW also and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Macy for yesterday. And working up to HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Saturday to Hamish!!

All the best with the water drinking nights to those going for it, MouseBrown and Freddie.. Eck, our nights are good, but the last four days have been abysmal. Its like Hunters made a non sleeping resolution!! Besides Katie (and that awesome arvo sleep) are any other bubs having just the single day sleep yet? I think his body is trying to change from 2 to one..either that or he just has no experience in winding down. Maybe because hot and I have less patience, also he was so perfect to sleep on holiday. oh well. Will change I hope now that I've committed it to writing :smiliedance:

Tabby your wedding plans sound v exciting, keep telling us the ins and outs! Some great restful sleeps to you! How is your DS2 going with looking for work and the end of his school yr?

SammyG so lovely to see you back and hear from you. Gorgeous shots of your Xmas boys, esp DS1 asleep, arrh. Excellent news about number THREE! maybe sortof, probably happening..

Well am zonked, despite 'easing' into work yesterday and today..just wish like about everyone that it was still holidays :flowerz:
:sunshine: Cooler day for Perthies and Melbourne girls tomorrow..and to Karrina too!

My water broke at 7am Christmas morning, yes it was a total shock. I rang swan district hospy as I had no idea what it was lol as I had a c section with Talon. Was told to come in sounds like my water has broken. I couldn’t deliver at Swan due to bub only being 35 weeks so was transported by ambulance to King Eddie. Started having contractions within an hour after arriving there. They were 8 minutes apart. Dr told me I was going to have bub that day yep of all days Christmas day. So they prep me for theatre and our little girl arrived into the world at 2.53pm. Hubby was proud he finally cut the cord (never done that before). I had a precious hold of my pink bundle before she went to special care nursery. It all happened so fast. She’s doing really well and should have her home within a week. Tarni is formula feed as i honestly didn't think i could cope with breastfeeding while Talon is so full on. Least i know with formula, she having the right amount and putting on weight.

Talon and hubby comes to the hospital every day. Very tiring for all but it has to be done. Talon adores her. He always smiles and giggles at her when he looks at her. Its so sweet.

Anyway better get going and have some sleep. Talon will have me up at 6ish.

Hi everyone

happybirthday to Macy for the 2nd & Hamish for tomorrow!

Sam - Glad you had a great time away. Saw your new pics on facebook. They are great!

Kel - Tarni is so gorgeous!

Us - Well its going to be hot today & tomorrow so not looking forward to it. We are house hunting at the moment so its not going to be nice being out in the heat. The water pipe problem on the roof still isnt fixed  We had a plumber come out yesterday but he needs a part that will take a few days to come in. We have cold water now but no hot as all the hot water goes thru the solar panels. So we went to MIL last night to all have showers & baths. Might have to do that again tonight & tomorrow.
Sierra is really good, she is walking very well & not crawling at all. She's learnt how to climb up on to our couches & coffee table now so we have to keep an extra eye on her at the moment, she also stands up on her rocking horse (same one M has Sam) & her FP Stride to ride car. Shes definately a climber  Still no more teeth yet. Probably will get some soon.

Just a quick one, just came back from Cleas 12 month check up. Some of the doctors over here are sooo annoying. After attacking us for not speaking German yet! (after 5 months in germany) she then told me that breastmilk is toxic after 12 montjs and Clea is underweight because I am breastfeeding her. I cam home and looked it up and she is just over 9kgs and 76cms which puts hers in the 50th percentile.

I am so angry.
She told me Clea should be 11 or 12 kgs at her age! She has been on the same percenrile since birth, surely this is okay?

SammyG
04-01-2008, 08:06 PM
DFB - Ignore that stupid person!

To my knowledge BM never goes toxic (can only be harmful if you are on certain meds)

Clea looks to be developing quite quickly compared to M, he has just cracked 10kg and is just above 50th percentile too! He is on formula so go figure!

Very Quiet in here today!

hello!! Its been a while for me on BH and SO MUCH has happened!! Firstly, big :hugs: to Wild at Heart for your loss and congrats to Jacstar for your pregnancy.
and CONGRATULATIONS Strawb. on your precious christmas present - what a treasure! Wow, it sounds like you're coping so well and Talon is being an angel.
so sorry I missed so many birthdays - Katie, Talon, Macy...anyone else???
I can't believe its been a year for us. This time last year I was just heading off to the hospital. Its so weird. We're having family and friends for cake and champagne tomorrow (o and softies too of course). Couldn't decide where to draw the line so have about 30+ coming but keeping it very simple and not at our house!!
On celebrations, yay to Tabby for your decision on the big day. I'm a big believer in not waiting too long...although we took a year...yes its a lot of work but there's a lot of unnecessary stuff you don't need to get into. We had about 100 but decided we'd prefer a big barbie and not offend anyone...did lots of stuff ourselves, or family helped, so it was really personal and great. SIL did the flowers, no photographer except friends and family, no cars, no sit down food, etc. I think the clincher was Dad's home made vodka!!! After that, didn't matter what went down, everyone had a good time! ...yr bringing back fond memories here. Most of all, do what you want not anyone else!
Um, got to go wrap pressies, fix the cake (sunk in the middle) and make a card for the big day tomorrow.
xxhappy new year everyone!

:hugs: :hugs: to WILDATHEART I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

DFB I'm absolutely disgusted to hear that a supposed doctor would say that to you re: breastmilk!! What a load of rubbish, just keep doin what you're doing.

STRAWBERRY_SHORTCAKE wow what a crazy birth story!! I used to think that waters breaking was supposed to be how labour always started. Kinda hope that's what will happen this time (at home though, not supermarket!) or that labour will actually just start, lol.
Good to hear she's doing well though!!

have a great weekend everyone!

:yelclap: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAMISH!!! :yelclap:

Goodness! Hope your cake is going well Freddie and of course extra icing in the middle is always a cure for the sinky middle. Hope all going well, the bubbly and cake sounds perfect! I hope Hamish has had a lovely morning already!

Such a wonderful time this last year has been. I put a photo album together (well doubles) for H's Dad last night, yep it was supposed to be for Xmas, but for H's birthday is more apt. So amazing looking at all those photos isn't it. Sometimes look at them all with such memories of tenderness at how hard some of it was, and other times how joyful, certainly feel like I;ve grown a lot older this year. Thus all our parenty grey hairs hey!

GOlly and DragonFlyBlu! You poor thing, what terrible advice that Dr gave you. Goodness gracious. So glad you believe in yourself or how damaging that could be.. breastmilk toxic golly!!! If you were militant enough complaining to the hospital with back up articles would be GREAT! ie W.H.O recommends breastfeeding for 2yrs! Australian Drs etc recommend breastfeeding to at least 12months.. Hunter is a little lightweight, but full of beans and is just nudging 10kg. Standing not walking like Clea. Goodness, keep believing in yourself and your beautiful girl! Hey you might be in Singapore soon :smiliedance:

Strawberry Shortcake such a beautiful photo with your beautiful new daughter Tarni. So special. All the very best for being able to take her home on Tuesday!!! We'll all be thinking of you.

SammyG great Xmas shots of your so beautiful boys and lovely to hear your holiday was a wonderful break!

I did wonder if people had been making NY resolutions to spend less time on Bubhub!! Eck!

Hunter and his half brother (14mth apart) had a great morning yesterday playing in a baby/toddler water playground (just across river from Tabby!). Very nice and fun. Lovely seeing the boys playing together and for me to have time with his Mum. We've got a lot in common!

Tabby hope all going well with work and the shifts and the other girls are all great.

TiredMummy, all the best for only a few more days of no hot water!!! ECK! May it be fixed on Monday or before for you all. Hey at least yr beautiful girls aren't teenagers yet..

Well a lovely day for a birthday HAMISH!! Happy one for all. xxS

Another quick one as on night shift of 11 hrs so am pooped! Ill catch up on mon-wed, my days off.

Happy Birthday HAMISH!!!!! happybirthday

DFB: Argh sounds like the health nurses are the same all over the world lol, As said ignore it, 50th perc is just great! and as you say shes been there from day one, sounds good to me and shes progressed in such leaps and bounds that can only come from a healthy bub :D

Freddie: Sounds like a great wedding, we are going quite informal too with lots of close friends and family and catered by Mil and her friend, So far: Ceremony in gingin gardens under a garden arch that I will dress with flowers my self followed by reception in the local hall with all deco by me! Im going to stay the night before to prep it all, figure there is no chance I would sleep well anyhow. Cant wait for Monday/tues day off to see whats out there I can use hehe. Im supposed to get to gingin this week to see the hall, not sure can be bothered day off so might just say yes anyhow...

Alls well here, more teeth coming, no6 having trouble getting through but still no major dramas, theres more that look like coming soon too, figure she will have a mouthful in no time, looks funny at the mo with 3 up top though lol. Still sleeping well, just a bit grizzly and clingy when wake.

Off to work in a couple hrs so am off to chill.
As I said I will catch up properly come Monday
Love to all and hope everyones well xxx

A very happy Birthday to one Mr. Hamish . Hope he's had a great day!

dragonfly: :O what the?!?!? toxic??? err... hello..... the doctor is not aware of the world health organisation? What kind of idiots are they allowing to practice over there!!!!!!! DON'T WORRY!! Clea's perfect! The important thing is that she's "stayed with the line" as they tell me... (they're always saying not to worry even though Caitlin is BELOW the "0th" percentile!!!!) Caitlin is 73cm and 8.2kgs at 12 months.

Charis - what a nice idea with the albums!! I had a look at Caitlin's album the other week... i've done like 4 pages. I have been doing scrapbooking as well though. It's so hard with digital to keep things up to date!

Also, What's the baby/toddler water playground?? Is that Ascot?? That sounds like a really nice outing for playgroups etc..

Must fly as my lamb korma is smelling soooo yummy!

:flowerz:Happy birthday Hamish:flowerz:

Thanks everyone, Yeah I know, I posted a thread on the ABA site and on the bubhub breastfeeding section and noone has ever heard of this theory before. I really think Clea is okay, she is putting on weight and is energetic and healthy, apart from a cold this week. But I think colds are a norm now....

Wildatheart :hugs: what can I say, so sorry to hear about your loss. I hope we hear from you soon.

charis who would make a resolution to spend less time here???

strawberry_shortcake what a lovely baby! she has a very intense look already!

tabby sounds like the preps are going well. I decorated myself to, but my mum and MIL wanted to do some to. I didnt mind, although we did have simple japanese tealights on the table for the drinks at the ceremony and a big french style candelabra thing on the floor next to us for the vows. Mum and MIL have very different styles.

well I have enrolled to do a law degree  what am I thinking!!! anyway it is from charels darwin uni and all online so I can do it while we travel. dont know if i want to practice as a lawyer but a law degree is always useful. i havent studied for awhile and never online, i am a bit nervous!

and happy birthday to all the beautiful one year old.. aaw its happy but also a bit sad... they are all growing up.. gee i sound like my mum!

Thanks for all the nice messages and my m/c. I am feeling fine now. Its funny how quickly I have receovered as it just didn't feel right from the beginning somehow. ......The strange thing now is that the hormones seem to have not left my body 5 wks later.. did a pregnancy test last night and found a BFP but need to see if its real or if its the effects from the miscarriage. I assume its the hormones from the miscarriage still mucking me around. Hope it all gets sorted soon.
:babydust2:

What a beautiful girl Strawberry!

Tabby: :iagree: keep the plans simple its so much easire that way and you're less likely to forget something. Alexander is teething and tooth number 7 and 8 on their way... he will have a big toothy grin soon!

DFB: phooey to that doc.. you'd think in a place as cold as germany they would be encouraging bf to try top prevent all those infections from colds and flus from being in such cold weather.

Speaking of breastfeeding (and this is just a purely nosy comment..), how many of the breastfeeding bubs are going to be weaned soon.. how many feeds are the bubs having at the moment?

Nitey nite (and hope you get to have a hot shower tired*mummy!!)

happybirthday for Macy the other day, for Hamish yesterday and for Audrey on Tuesday.

DFB...forget what the doc say, you know what's best for C.
Tabby...both the Rec and Civic centres are nice. I think the kitchen in the Rec centre is better for catering (my Aunt catered in Gingin for many years and we always helped). I'd just go with whichever is cheeper.

A couple of ok nights here with 1-2 wakeups (the second usually at 5).

Can't believe TJ will be 1 on Tuesday. Have to drag out the pressie that have been hidden for a while. Still trying to get organised for her party, no doubt I'll get it all done in time.

Took the day off on Friday. The tiredness had finally got to me and I was ready to hand in my notice on Thursday. Either that or bite someones head off. Called an agency about a position in Osb Park. Will send out my resume this week and see how things go. Will mean having to go back full time, but I'm hoping I can do 35 hour weeks which won't make the days much longer than they already are for the kids. The only bummer about full time is I won't be able to make the Perth meets any more:(.

Poos.....Has anyone else's bubs poo changed recently? TJ hasn't had a solid poo in about three weeks and I can't work out why. It's not the change to real milk as they changed while still on formula. I was wondering if it was because she is drinking lots more water. Any ideas?

Had better go, monsters calling.

Hi guys, no major personals today am still on holidays and finally got internet access.:yelclap:

We were in Hervey Bay for 8 days, rained for most of it, had 2 days of sunshine.

Currently on the gold coast til wednesday then we are heading down to NewCastle for a couple of days. We are off to Dreamworld today.

Bridget has behaved well on the holiday- she travels well in the car (loves the DVD player and screen in front of her!), and has been sleeping really well- better than at home and all night in the porta-cot!! It is amazing. She is still not walking yet- so close but not quite there.

I did my birthday wishes before I left but still happybirthday to bubs who are due for your first this week!

Better go and get ready for the day- it is so hot outside already.

Well this is a first. Have popped on hear at 7.30am to kill time while waiting for C to wake up. Dishwasher is unloaded and I've had brekky on my own for the first time since he was born. He woke at 4.45am but got him back to sleep with a feed. Before our holidays that would have been the start of our day but while away and staying up late catching up with friends I couldn't face 5am starts and got in the habit of bringing him to bed for morning feed and letting him sleep with us for another hour or so. Was really nice actually because until then had never been able to get him to sleep with us. Hoping to keep it up for some weekend sleep-ins!

In general though he's sleeping well (and alot!) but the routine is all over the place thanks to xmas hols in Melbourne and the daylight savings there. Always loved daylight savings pre-child but no way C was accepting bedtime before 9pm with traces of daylight still about! But we were amazed how well he actually coped with us stretching out time between naps and keeping him up late because we were out and about. He was mostly fed to sleep the whole time we were away though and now that we are home I keep putting off getting him to try and self-settle.

DFB - I agree with everyone else about teh silly toxic breastmilk theory. C is still being breastfed and is also a lightweight on the bottom of the charts (just cracked 8kg at nearly 12months!) but happy & health & full of beans.

Mouse - congrats on the 1000 posts milestone. And as for poos, yep has also been weeks since a solid poo from C. And he is still breastfed with no formula or cows milk so maybe it is the increased water??

wild - no plans to wean yet and C still has 4 feeds a day plus extra if he wakes during the night (once on average, none if I'm lucky and 2 if I'm not!). The day feeds are quite short and at teh moment are helping with naptime but may try and cut them in a few weeks if I can get his sleep back on track. Would like to keep the mornng and bedtime feed as long as he wants them.

I hear happy noises fr5om C's room....he must have enjoyed his sleep-in!

Hi All

here I am again...

I can't believe Billy is nearly 1! Unfortunately I am not doing a birthday party for him. We only got back from the Gold Coast yesterday and I started fulltime work today so I figured it is too hectic...just a quiet one with Billy and Imani and of course a cake;)

happybirthday all our little babies!

Congrats Jacstar on your little girl! They are such fun to dress too but look out - attitudes plus when they get to 4!:D

And Strawberry OMG a little girl on Christmas Day what a lovely gift...

Dragonflyblu - bloody Germans! Coming from a German background I can just imagine how self riteous the doc was...you do what you think is right! and the 50th percentile is fine.

No news here other than my weight loss which is now 16.5 kilos in 9 weeks - I am down from 95.4 kilos to 78.9 and Imani had a great time at Seaworld and Dreamworld

Update on Billy
He is now crawling properly - no more commando style and trying to pull himself up onto furniture.

He is sleeping through the night (no longer waking for a dummy at 2pm)

He is now on Heinz number 3 formula

And is starting to refuse to be fed - he wants to do it himself  makes life a bit hard

He is into fulltime childcare as of tomorrow :( I am a bit sad about having to go back to fulltime work but as a single parent with a mortage I think I am making the only decision I can.

So best wishes to our little Jan babies - nearly one...still can't believe it

Lovely to hear from you Karrina, sounds like all is going well! A single mummy with a mortgage is quite a feat- we can't manage it as a couple so I think you should feel very proud of yourself. Imani & Billy are lucky to have such a great mummy!

Can't believe how determined these little ones are getting - I don't remember DS1 being like this! M throws paddies whenever he doesn't get his own way(shortlived ones thank goodness), he's so cheeky and cute when he gets away with something though! His idea of trouble is getting into the bathroom and banging on the bath!

Cat, glad you had a lovely, solo brekkie!

Liviesmum, Good girl Bridget for behaving while on hols!

Tabby
07-01-2008, 02:36 PM
Sammy: Oh so true there with the paddies! Very funny though, am sure Katie will learn in time it will only make me laugh and not get here anywhere lol.

Karrina: :hugs: to you. I was in that position many a time , it never got easier each time but when I look back now am so glad I did, I was able to offer the boys a stable home because of it, which is very important to me and I believe of great benefit to them xx.
Sounds like Billy is going in leaps and bounds! We have the same want to feed self now too, Yesterday she fed herself totally, cant believe how well she handles the spoon and gets things onto it already!

Cat: How lovely your morning sounds, I used to get those until working! Lovely to be able to coffee and wake up first before attending to them.

liviesmum: Holiday sounds wonderful! Glad Bridget is traveling so well

Mouse; We couldnt get the rec due to some show on the next day its been booked! Decided perth was better anyhow, now at the belmont oasis function room instead, finallising the booking tomorrow after I go over a few things with the girl there. Only 35 a hr! which includes tables and chairs and a huge kitchen.

Happy birthday to TJ for Tomorrow !!!! xxx

Katies poo changes all the time! Think here its more dependent on what shes eating rather than water intake as we usually the same every day with water.

I had yesterday off as decided to give my 11 hr shift away, will be doing that every week, dropping a 11 hr shift, no way can continue as is, its just too much a 45+ hr week!
this will cut it back to 30ish, which is still good $ to help the household yet I wont feel so blah all the time. Apparently its easy to give those shifts away as someone is always looking for them .

Okay wedding prep/decisions made today!
Venue: done..to be confirmed and deposit paid tomorrow
Catering: Mil & her friend , Mum and me ( i have a week off before)
Ceremony: Council gardens across from venue with celebrant all booked. Booking gazebo tomorrow.
Cake; buying pre made sponges to decorate myself
Honeymoon: down south in a chalet over the river for 3-4 days

I feel exhausted just thinking about it all lol and I have 5 months to go!

thanks for all the birthday wishes for Hamish everyone. we had friends and family by the river for champagne and cake...about 30 people. It was great fun if a little windy and Hamish had a ball - all three nannas there at one time!

o and I'm glad you asked the question about BF wild at heart. I've been trying to cut out the day feeds and just do the morning (about 5am) and night (just before bed). I bought a stage 3 formula but have decided not to use it as it is nearly 7% sugar content. I rang Ngala to ask them about it and they said these drinks are not necessary and have about 2 sugar cubes per 180ml serve - like giving them a maccas milkshake! He's not all that keen on cow's milk however but I'm going to persevere with that. My neighbour gives her son half cow juice and half oat milk. I'm hoping to drop the 5am feed soon too.

Hi everyone...
Sorry im pretty tired and just popping in quickly so no real personals till tomorrow!

Happy birthday to all bubs! It is incredible how fast this year has gone.

Some news from us. Im no longer a single mumma. Toms dad and i are back together. :fingerscrossed: That it all works out!

Had a little accident and had to take morning after pill. Just a warning, you can't bf for 3 days after. Tom was on formula, went back on to bf and just drank ALL night and refused breast during the day. Im pretty much empty. Im really sad, i wasn't ready to wean, but i guess if im not making the milk i don't have much choice. Im waiting to see today and tonight if they fill up, but they are not very full and its been all day. :crying:

In good news, he is going into his cot...started that when we went away, and its taking an average of 5 minutes for him to go to sleep. He gets up into my bed during the night, but its much nicer having him self settle.

Anyway sorry for the me me me...will do personals tomorrow!:hugs:

WOOHOO, that's great Acacia! Wonderful time for you all, wow! Also :yelclap: congrats on BFing this long also.. Australian child health nurses say the best is into their first yr, which you've got to. Out of interest what are you weaning Thom on?

Interested in Freddies oat milk too. For those on cows milk, some book I read said best to use 'organic cows milk' what the!?!! Isn't it all organic? he he. Not weaning yet, H has a kind of proprietorial look when he eyes off the (.)(.)s! Does that go?

Freddie beautiful shots of Hamish's birthday!!! V loved and happy chappy. Great one of him sneaking off from his party and also the 2xNana shot. :smiliedance: V gorgeous!!

Oh yes about weaning, am officially starting at uni teaching this week..well am meant to be in there writing lectures or something just the one day a week (fractional appointment) (!)..but left H with his Nana just for an hr the other day and had an open water swim with his Dad. (good way to spend time together without talking, he he!) anyhow, we both got back and H had screamed the whole hour. Was PANTING it was awful. And this is the same person he's completely happy with at my place or at the nearby river just them for 3-4hrs a week, every week. This was at her place. But he has a serious case of needing to see/hear Mummy!

Have been consciously trying to leave him when he's happy and safe, and wave and leave for short time.. but actually he even cries when I go to the loo, despite being able to crawl there. Anyone else have this level of seperation anxiety?? At least have 2 months till have to lecture and tute as a 4hr block!

Any advice welcomed!!

Tabby great for the balance that now will be giving you more sleep! We miss you on here too. Great great that so much for your wedding is getting sorted! YAH.

All the best with the childcare for Billy Karrina and great to hear from you! A v special Happy 1 to him too!!! Gosh awesome weight loss too! I'm just beginning to realise that the flat floppy spare tyre is not going away on its own! Bet yours is all gone!

SammyG wonderful to hear about M! Sometimes at brekky if you make eye contact with H he just spits it! :devil6: he he. Teddy bears helping at meal times still work!

DFB studying LAW, wow girl!! :smiliedance:

Cat13 great to hear from you! Sometimes I sneak out of bed and do all the first things of the morning v fast without bub to hold and then sneak back in..cos its nice waking up at same time. But WOW breakfast! That is awesome. I reckon have, since 17wk, had H go to sleep during day about twice in his cot, rest of time he;s put down asleep. I know it needs to change! :ecomcity:

Night all!!

happybirthday TJ and Audrey! I hope the day is full of fun!

Nicole, We are now facebook pals! Its so nice to put faces to names on here! Your photo's are lovely.

Lisa Tom does runnier poos if he has more water. It clear out the system i think!

Liviesmum...Im in Newcastle. When are you coming through?

Cathy...Woohoo for your peaceful breakfast.:smiliedance: I think its great to keep feeding. I wanted to stay at it for longer too.

Karrina...I hope childcare works well for you. I know a lot of babies thrive in it. Are you happy to be back at work?

Vicki...The wedding plans sound so exciting. It must be a lot of work for you doing 30 hours, plus having the kids and planning a wedding. Your superwoman!

Sammy...He just joined facebook too, so i added his name as my partner so you can have a squiz! Ill make him confirm tonight so i can show him off a bit! ahaha.

Charis...Thanks for the kind words. I feel sad today because i have pancake boobs! Tom had a go this morning but they are well and truely deflated! DP had a tin of S26 GOLD for when he had him so i have just used that. When that tin is over i will put him on Organic formula i think. Im not sure how to wean him off the formula...i guess i just switch to normal milk.

Well i should get ready to go out. Im at mums this morning and she has her eye on the wee one. It was so funny when i saw mum yesterday. I asked her if my house smelt funny (it has a certain pong that i can't quite identify) and she said its a bit weird and asked me why i hadn't been at home...i said 'well i have been staying at dp's' and she said 'are you back together' and when i said yes she shrieked and said i had made her new year! She loves him...i think partly because he looks a bit like Bob Geldolf! Its nice to know that this is making people happy! Plus i feel pretty happy myself! Thanks for the congrats girls!

congrats on an incredible milestone and hope you all have fantastic days.

Congrats too to Acacia, it sounds like you're really happy about being back with Tom's dad and hope it all works out well for you. I'm having the same dilemma about weaning milk but actually am pretty happy to keep BF most of the time. I'd like to be able to take a few hours off though!

Charis, its very sweet when they love you so much you can't leave their sight but it is a bit draining sometimes isn't it? Hope the uni stuff goes well - I'm sure H will get used to it and love spending all that time with his Nanna!

best head off as DH has gone back to work today after two + weeks and I need ot get this place in order! needles today at 12 :crying:. Not looking forward to that.

Too hot!!!

Caitlin had her needles yesterday. She was a bit grumpy that night but they say the effects won't take place til 5-12 days after. (hooray - we have that to look forward to!) We were sitting in the waiting room after and the nurse who gave her the injections came out and Caitlin started BAWLING... I thought it was very clever to associate pain with this nice lady.

attachment - argh.. if i walk from the lounge to the kitchen and she can still see me she screams. It's really bad. I think they say 12 months is the worse - please!!! Altho when we're out and about she doesn't want anything to do with me.. crawls over to strangers and always trying to run away! Wierd...

Acacia - thanks for adding me on facebook! Congrats about having your boy back! :) I think tha'ts hilarious about your mum smelling!!!

Good luck with your teaching Charis! Is Hunter going to daycare?

And.... a big happy birthday to a Miss Audrey and Miss Tierney!!! Big Girls now!!! (It's all downhill from here on in ladies...)

happybirthday to Billy for tomorrow!

A huge thanks for all the birthday wishes.
TJ's flat out sleeping at the moment (:fingerscrossed: I haven't jinxed it). So far she's got a LP Aeroplane from DD1 and a pram for her new baby from Mama & Gramps. The boxes were of course more interesting than the actual pressies though:laughing:.

We've had a lot of words clarify this week and we're now saying: birdies, puppy, fishies, Baa, O-oh.

Karrina...congrats on the weight loss, you're doing really well. As for full time daycare, B will be fine, I often think it's harder for the parents than the kids.
Sammy...Know exactly what you mean about the paddies. DD1 never had paddies like TJ does. Yesterday she went on for 20mins, getting stroppy at her FP Popper when she couldn't get it to pop.
Acacia...Great news about you and T's dad. All the best.
Freddie....:hugs:for H today with his needles
Tabby...good to hear the plans are coming together. And yes, giving up the 11 hour shift is probably the best thing at the moment. You don't want to wear yourself out with K and the Wedding plans.
Strawberry....great to hear T is home, hope all is going well and she's behaving for you.

Had better go, cakes to decorate,

~ Happy Birthday Tierney ~ . Hope you have a great day.

Tabby – Sounds like you have almost every booked for your wedding.

Acacia – You sound happy to be back with Tom’s father. All the best darl.

Cordelia – :hugs: to Caitlin. I hate taking T to get needles. How many needles do you get at 12 months? Talon’s needles are tomorrow.

Us – Tarni finally came home on Sunday. She’s been really good since being home. Sleeps and feeds. I reckon T will be walking before 13 months, he stands everywhere and takes one step here and there. Hubby has 4 more weeks left of holidays. We been sharing the feeds as Tarni feeds every 3 hours.

Anyway better go its time to give Tarni a feed. Have a great day girls.

Well some more happybirthday to the other little people having their special first birthday.

We had a bbq on Sunday for Macy's birthday. I was a bit shirty that NO family bothered to come. I think I definately landed a lousy mob of inlaws. Some of them only live 20 minutes away and yet it was too far for them to come. I can understand my mum not wanting to travel when its a 3 hr trip each way for her but they are just selfish. They wouldnt even come for xmas when we invited them cause then someone would have had to stay sober to drive home. Yet it was ok for them to whinge about us not wanting to go up their house even when in the end we made the effort and drove back from mums early to see them. Sorry bit of a rant there. Macy had a good day on Sunday so that was the important thing

More exciting news though, got to have my first visit with our midwife today. It was sooo lovely to have her come to our home and just have a good old chat for an hour or so and then the kids and I got to hear #3's heartbeat for the first time on the doppler. It was quite a special moment :cloud9: I think this homebirth is going to be an amazing journey

Anyway, better stop blabbing about ourselves. Sorry no personals, I am on holidays so I will make time for it in the next couple of weeks. We are off to the playground to get DS out of the house for a bit

Have a great week everyone

Happy birthday TJ and Audrey!
and tomorrow for Billy! happybirthday

Acacia: What wonderful news hun! you sound absolutely over the moon, I wish you both all the best :hugs:

Hugs for Hamish and Caitlin with the needle day.
Ours were due last week but will have to leave till next week when days off. So not looking forward to this lot, hardest of them all in my opinion.

attachment here isnt too bad..I have always from day one said "be back in a minute" when leaving the room for trips to loo etc and talk to her to and from the other room. seems to have worked..

Charis: Am sure Hunter will adjust, sometimes it takes time but am sure all will be fine, as hard as it is :hugs: All the best for the start of uni!!!
Continue your waving and explaining you will be right back, use the same words and talk to him from where ever you are, in time he will see that you do indeed come back shortly.

Mouse: What a lovely array of words there! heh sounds like we both have chatter boxes
Yes I agree it was my best choice to ditch a shift. Have got so much done in the last 3 days and rested as well, feel much much better! and still have tomorrow off before heading back.

Strawberry: Wonderful news and welcome home Tarni!! YAY!

Korah: the home birth sounds awesome and is going to be ever so wonderful am sure.
Sorry to hear of the inconsiderate il's. :hugs:

Today i purchased wedding invites and envelopes, flower arrangements for the bridal table, table runners and some odds and ends.
Paid deposit for function hall and on the phone in a minute to book the gazebo in the council gardens for the ceremony. tomorrow and off to Rockingham to a shop that specializes in a array of wedding accessories, they make engraved candles :D

Gosh Tabby you are so organised already for your upcoming wedding. Sounds like all is under control

Korah - glad Macy had a good bday celebration even if the relos were slack.

Strawberry - hope Tarni keeps being a good girl for you. How is Talon taking to the change?

Mouse - what a clever chatterbox you have. Besides the usual mum/dad/bub I think C is saying 'up' (at my feet with arms raised) and he also makes a 'mew' sound everytime he sees one of our cats.

Acacia - all the best for this new start with Tom's dad

Tantrums - C has got the leg kicking, cry of despair and back arching down pat. Easily distracted so far so we are still able to laugh at his displays....but I do think I'm going to have a little terror on my hands.

Walking - still a while off I think. Proper super fast crawling now though and starting to pull up on things.

Needles - must remember to book them in.....

1st bdays - a general happy bday to all the bubs. C's is next Wednesday but no big party. Justa few friends over for a joint housewarming/1st bday sausage sizzle. I can't even make a cake becaue didn't notice until we moved in that the kitchen has no oven. Will just have to buy one. Hopefully everyone takes notice when we say no presents. C got so spoilt at xmas we had $112 in excess baggage on the flight home. More toys with flashy lights and loud nouises than we know what to do with.

1st haircut - anyone taken the plunge yet? Have to do it soon here as poor C can barely see out from behind his fringe. Heard a rumour that some salons do 1st haircuit free of charge?

Missed a few other personals but this post is long enough and I know no-one will take it personally.

Goodnight all.

Cat: Most hair dressers will do the 1st cut free, if they dont then ask elsewhere
We have had a slight trim off the fringe about 2 months ago (did my self )and already its in her eyes again! its so long now can tie a little pony tail at the end hehe

Changed my mind last night and today are off elsewhere after I found a awesome bridal dress shop in jandakot, quite a drive but dresses from 250-500! The online pics look perfect! Hopefully is worth the drive this morning, just waiting on the Miss to wake up, yep almost 830 and still asleep. So lucky here that shes such a great sleeper.

Having problems finding a limo at reasonable prices, only need it one way from home to ceremony and tops of about 20 mins but so far all have a minimum cost time, usually 3 hrs.

Hope you find a nice dress. We didn't hire cars for our wedding, instead used ours and my brothers. Both were white and clean with a ribbon on the front. Spending that sort of money for a quick drive and maybe one or two photo's really didn't make sense to me. We hired a Harley (Harley tours) for an hour instead and had photo's with/on it after the ceremony.

Strawberry...glad to hear things are going well with T. Hope you're getting some sleep while DH is able to help you with feeds.
Korah...forget the rellies, you probably wouldn't have enjoyed it if they had been there. Glad to hear M ahd a good time anyhow.

Remembered another work TJ is saying at the moment - baby (in reference to her doll). She gives it a cuddle and says 'ahhhhh', then whops it on the head a few times (patting it's back). Not far off walking, maybe within the next week or so, then I'll be running everywhere.

Sent her off to daycare today with 4 little bug cakes. Creative skill went out the window last night so they were pretty basic. Will do a better job for Sundays cake.

Have a great day!

:smiliedance: Happy Birthday Billy

Thanks everyone for the support with the doctor stuff. Went to swimming classes this week, Clea loved it. AND she was the BIGGEST 1 year old girl there! Stupid doctor.

Clea is not sleeping very well. She is down to one nap a day but she needs 2. Yesterday she was awake from 1pm to 7.30pm and by the end of it was a mess. Today i tried to settle her and ended in tears and finally i put her down and she waddled off to play! oh well i suppose it is a stage  (thats me not Clea haha)

Strawberry: It's 3 needles in WA!!! Poor things!! :( How did Talon go? How's Tarni!!!! When can we see her!!! Just kidding - we'll give you some time... :P

Wow - that overlay is beautiful Tabby. Gorgeous. wedding cars - I agree, using friend's cars si good. My friend went in my Dad's F350 Ford Ute!! (we polished it up and stuck some ribbons on.)

Caitlin and our dog are finally getting on! She throws the ball for him and he brings it back then gives her a big lick on the ear. teehee.... except she calls him Jack (my parents dog) and she can't say "woof" so she says "oob oob". Soooo cute.

Happy Birthday to Billy now!!! We're nearly halfway through January.... altho I know Xavier is well into Feb!!

korah - i'd be pretty annoyed at my family too!! And 3 hours isn't that long a drive for your grand daughters' first birthday!! Soem people are so selfish aren't they.

Anyway, better pay some bills. That credit card bill is hurting after Christmas!! ANd we're going away to Esperance and Adelaide in the next 3 months so it's just going to get worse and worse. Oh well - bit by bit.

HI everyone

Tabby - The pink overlay is gorgeous.

Havent really been on much the last few days. Been busy organising stuff for DD1 & school. Finally got her shoes & socks today. Only have a few more things to get though so thats not too bad. Sierra has cut another tooth, her top left one. She has been a bit of a grumpy bum so thats probably why. She has another 3 coming thru too, poor bubba. We bought her a few things yesterday for her b'day, ended up giving them to her lol. Have a few things put away though for the big day.

Another very hot day here today & tomorrow :( Hate it. We've applied for 2 houses (both with air con) so hopefully we will here something soon. The are available next week so we would be moving next weekend if we get either of them.

~ Happy Birthday Billy ~ I hope you had a great day.

Strawberry: It's 3 needles in WA!!! Poor things!! :( How did Talon go? How's Tarni!!!! When can we see her!!! Just kidding - we'll give you some time... :P

Cordelia I rang the dr regarding needles on Tuesday and was told just to come down on Wednesday, don’t need to make an appointment. So I rocked up after T had some lunch and then was told he can’t get done till next Wednesday because I need to make an appointment. :hair: Tarni is going very well, demanding more food. Perth ladies are very welcome to come and visit anytime. Maybe a perth meet might be in order to meet this little girl and so you guys can get clucky lol. I'd be only to happy to host it at my place. Let me know what you think.

Strawberry - hope Tarni keeps being a good girl for you. How is Talon taking to the change?

Cat13 -We try and involve T as much as possible with his new little sister. He loves looking at her and wants to touch her. T doesn’t know the word gentle though .

Mouse - Sounds like you have a little chatterbox on your hands lol.

Tabby - The overlay is lovely.

Tired*Mummy – Good luck with the house hunting. I hope you stay cool today, it’s going to be a hot one where you are.

Gotta go Master T is yelling mum from his cot.

Take care

When TJ is over tired and definately needs a sleep - whether she thinks so or not - I put her in her cot like I normally do to go to sleep and let her have a cry for a while. Being so tired the crying never really esculates but if it does I'm in there to resettle her quickly. Maybe C just needs some wind down time in her cot/bed before settling for her sleep? Please feel free to ignore this suggestion:p.

You're very brave Kel. I'm up for a Perth meet in the next month as it might be my last for a while. Have got an interview with Racing & Gaming on Monday. Mondays and Tuesdays are my free days.

Tabby...beautiful dress, and a great price!

:smiliedance::flowerz: Happy mum here, TJ woke at 11 last night and resettled quickly, then again at 4 to have a little chat. I ignored this and didn't go into her room. She then resettled by herself and woke at 6.30. Wooohooooo! I think we might be getting there!

We got a few steps out of TJ this morning.

Had better go,
Lisa

Tabby The overlay is really really pretty I would love to see the whole dress when finished.
MousebrownGee you are lucky with bubs sleeping my good friend is trying to get her bub to sleep though the night and not having much luck she gets up like 3-5 times a night he just will not resettle and they have stopped him sleeping with them. I feel sorry for her or any one whos bub does not sleep though the night we have been blessed Lachlan is a good sleeper only when he is teething or sick does he wake up:fingerscrossed: the next will be the same if I am that lucky.
Cordelia Gee that sucks when that happens were did you go the local child health care centre? We went there not for the year 1 needles but the ones before and had to wait and wait and wait for like ever with all the mums and bubs it was not good think I am going to go see our Doctor this time in and out not to long to wait.

kewlchic - You’ll be right having 2 under 2. My son wasn’t even 1 years old when my daughter arrived (just missed out by 4 days). We named her Tarni Olivia. Surprisely I’m coping really well. No stressing here actually loving the challenge. Hubby and I have 4 kids all up. Two step daughters that we have full custody of (age 9 and 6). And of cause Talon born December 06 and Tarni born December 07.

Anyway better put T down for a sleep and go and take off the washing. Don’t need to prepare tea tonight. I’ve got it cooking in the slow cooker.

oh my gud, clea stayed up ALL DAY yesterday. woke at 7am, rolled around in bed with us till 8am dozing, then bfed all day. feel asleep for 15 minutes at 11am, then feel asleep at 2.30pm while feeding for about 10minutes and stayed awake until 9pm! apart from 2 very very quick naps she was playing non-stop for over 12hours! and she was okay. a few cries but nothing major! must be having some developmental milestone. she isnt sick, slept great last night, first wake was at 3.30am. life is just to exciting.

strawberry well done for coping so well. i suspect #2 is not such a shock, ie; you are prepared for sleep deprivation

Heya HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY and AUDREY!!! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Hunter for tomorrow!

How were their days?

H's cake is presently in the oven! V simple Maderia base layered with a (bought!) white mudcake, the lot then will have white choc and sour cream icing and um maybe brown sugar thrown at the cake which will by then be shaped like an upturned bucket. SammyG any tips!??? Its a Sandcastle cake, it potentially, can still all go horribly wrong, but have those Guerlain chocolate shells, so at least they will suggest seaside! I know its weird. But he loves sand, sand castles, sand eating, sand digging... Its just a family and 2 or so 'Aunties' lunchtime picnic. oops and following in Freddies footsteps must remember to buy the champagne!

Thanks all for the votes of confidence for leaving him when I started at uni. He was fine oh fine for 2hrs with my Mum, PHEW! I think it involved a lot of work from her, 2xplaygrounds and her relenting to feed him milk arrowroots I carry for emergencies. But all good and I got 2hrs of TIME! Amazing how much we used to waste :smiliedance:! Instead of just disappearing it was clear I was waving him goodbye. Anyhow, hope it can only get better from here :smiliedance:

:ecomcity:

StrawShort Cake yr v impressive, doing all and getting on here and of all things suggesting a meet at yr place. WOW. We;d love to see Tarni!! Can of course suffice with her beautiful photos too. How different is life now from Dec 28th 2007 :sunshine: WOW

Same for us all to some degree too. Gosh this date last yr I was in my second night of contractions and Hunter was born in another 11hrs time, yikes! WOw and wonderful women the world over giving birth right now. Amazing isn't it!!

Wonderful to see you on here again Jenko and lovely you were visiting WA!!!

Tabby v lovely and v feminine dress, wow!! Has your DF seen it?? Or it is just not you in it?? Be great to see you in it! WOW. yes, will reply by PM.

Speaking of Belmont, one of the (full-time)Dads in our playgroup, says the playground attached to the City of Belmont is the best ever, having a volcano that emitts sprays of fine water mist, etc etc. Have you been there?

How's work is it going well!

Speaking of work, how is yours going Mim1? Starting now?

Yikes and Dragonflyblu that is an extreme wakeful marathon, I hope she is sleeping the night well! Goodness. Hunter had an hour normal perfect morning sleep and then woke 1/2 into his arvo sleep while I was having a site meeting. Oh goodness. When you expect a break and it disappears it is v tiring! Poor thing was v tired too.

Sorry for all the waffle. Will go to bed. And awake celebrating what a year it has been!!

happybirthday to all the bubs who have already had birthdays!

I'm back from 2 weeks holidays. I was meant to have 'net access, but it didn't work out, so I've got a bit of reading of this thread to do!

strawberry ... great to hear that you are doing well. Isn't it funny how our bubs are really showing their personalities more and more each day.

tiredmummy ... congrats on your cousin's bub. My cousin had a bub a couple of weeks ago and I look forward to meeting him soon.

wildatheart ... :hugs: sorry to hear about your miscarriage

us ... Josh isn't walking yet, but is doing everything but. He's climbing onto couches, moving any furniture that can possibly be moved, standing unassisted, etc. I think he's still a few weeks off walking though. He's currently focusing on other things - pressing all the buttons he can find, pushing moving toys around all day and saying 'broom, broom' and he's pointing and gesturing lots! I'm amazed at his hand movement abilities. He's pointing at things he wants (including pulling at my top when he wants milk - which he's never done), wiggling his fingers to 'twinkle, twinkle' and trying to draw circles on my palm like we do with him for 'round & round the garden'. So cute!

Unfortunately last Sunday Josh got gastro and he was pretty sick for a few days. We nearly had to come home, but he picked up enough for us to stay at the beach. It really caused lots of tummy pain and presumably reflux for him, so he spent ages screaming too. Poor baby. He's now back to normal, but last night I got gastro and I'm still miserable. Dh is away til Friday, so my mum has taken Josh for the night. Josh is not yet weaned and not really drinking formula in any reasonable volume, but he does drink plenty of water and eats everything we offer him. He was down to 2 breast feeds a day, so now we have to see what happens with one feed. It wasn't the way that I intended to drop down to 1 feed a day, but I really want to wean him before I return to full time work in 3 weeks, so if it works that's great!

Anyway, I should go rest. I'll read more posts and comment more later. Have a great night!

Hi everyone

Remember me?!! Don't worry I won't take offence if you don't - I haven't been on in ages and ages!

Quick update on us: Cooper started crawling on Halloween - freaky I know.
He still isn't sleeping through the night - just about though when his teeth aren't hurting him. Normally wakes about 11ish for last feed.
He weaned himself off bf fully at about 10 months which I was a bit upset about as I had grand plans of feeding til he was at about 18 months - oh well when the next one comes along!
Has been pulling himself up on furniture since he started crawling and has been standing without support for the last couple of months. No actually walking yet but in the last week he will take one step before getting down to crawl.
And he is a big 1 year old now:smiliedance: Just had close family and friends around on his birthday for a little party and he ended up sleeping for half of it.
Oh and I am looking for part time work so we can get some house renovations done this year. That's our NY Resolution so it will be interesting if this is one that we can keep!

Ok I'm going to go back and read this months worth of posts now and see what's been happening. Be back soon to do some personals:thumbsup:

Cheers, Sharon:goodvibes:

Welcome back Liviesmum from holidays! You're on the home stretch now for bubs!

Shazza, good to hear from you!

Hope Billy & Hunter had great Birthday Celebrations!

Charis, how did the cake turn out - sounded great! Can I steal the sandcastle idea for sometime in the future? I think Michael's cake will be a Fire Engine although that may change as I'm getting sick of red icing!

Strawberry, I'm terribly impressed by how well you are coping with 4!

Mim, hope you get better real quick! Great that your mum can help while DH is away!

Tabby, did you get to rest during your big 11hr shift? No planes idling this time I hope. Love the lace overlay BTW! Will Katie be wearing something to match?

Tiredmummy, congrats on the new addition to the family, another 2nd cousin for the girls!

Us, Michael has his 2nd throat infection in 2 weeks and is not a happy chappy. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon cos his fevers have been stubborn, taking double doses of pain relief and 2 hours to come down (even stripped down after cool baths that he screams through)

I was busy last week with my latest cake order - A Wiggles Big Red Drum, sorry if I missed anyone's news, having trouble keeping up some days!

Don't worry i've surprised myself aswell . Nah honestly you deal with it and take each day as it comes. I truely do have a great family. Strawberry; Go supermum!!! ah glad Tarni seems such a good baby and wonderful Talon is the awesome big brother already.

Sammy: The cake is just so awesome! I truly wish you were here in Perth to make mine for the big day.
Yep Katie will wear matching white with pink sash  . Have seen the dresses at the same shop. Obviously no good to buy now as they grow so fast, so will grab that about 1 month before.

Poor Michael, 2 in 2 weeks! Hope hes feeling better soon :hugs:

liviesmum: :fingerscrossed: for you that you go a little early.
Ahhh I so dont forget those last weeks, :hugs: to you xx

Shazza: I too remember you! Great to hear from you again.
Hope you get the sleep throughs very soon.

Mim: Welcome home!
poor Josh too, glad its all over for him but Sorry to hear you are now down with it, hope you recover quickly xxx :hugs:

Us: Had work last night and managed 2 hrs sleep in the car, yes Sammy, I was lucky, no idling qantas plane there this time lol.
Have decided to talk to boss about doing the short shifts only and on a regular time sheet, these 11 hr shifts are a killer, plus I dont get to see the family enough and Im worn out by days off that takes me 2 days to get over it.
They are really short staffed and have trouble ppl wanting the 4 hr shift ( which I want ) so hopefully he agrees.

Katie is doing lots of standing now, and she does this funny thing where she raises her self up on her toes and down again, over and over. Looks over as if to say see how smart I am mum? lol

Day off today but back to 11 hr shift tomorrow and Tuesday then 3 days off.

Got all the Pm replies from Perthies, just need your addy please Sophie :)

Thanks all for the birthday wishes for yesterday to Hunter:goodvibes:!! And a very happy birthday to Matthew. When is Camerons birthday? and Kelseys? This week too??

Such a special day for them and us. It was the first time (as it may be for a lot of them?) that just about all the family and special adult people in H's life where there and he seemed to keep recognising them there. Was a lovely picnic lunch, v relaxed even for the hosts and was a perfect day weatherwise.

SammyG of course you can nick the sandcastle cake idea, had to hide it with a bucket on top behind a tree, till ready to be served as H kept throwing tantrums when he wasn't allowed to get near it. oops! Your Wiggles cake is just so professional! Its awesome, lots of happy kiddies as a result I;m sure!!! Oh the cake was certainly a success to eat..and it kinda looked like a sandcastle, though throwing raw sugar at its sides was a bit pot luck. Those sea shells were certainly a good idea.

Anyhow,'us, us, us....' but it was also a great day for Hunter to start standing up from sitting. Did it twice at lunch and then kept doing the late arvo. with a 'what a clever boy am I look', so cute!

Arh Tabby, yes! Great about Katie doing the calf lifts on tippee toes, so gorgeous!!! Sorry missed your post at v much same time. Great that you got some sleep and are preparing for maybe one of the last 11hrs..??? And yah 3days off mid week. woo hoo. PMed you too, before I posted! Be SO lovely to share your v special day!

StrawbSC, I do agree how amazing you are!!! This slow cooker sounds like a great idea, but someone still has to cut stuff up, clean up etc etc and I seem to remember, just with one the incredible paucity of time to cut up anything!!!! So wonderful for you all and for the girls having their little brother and sister to adore.
LiviesMum and Bridget welcome back. Her crawling into each room is just gorgeous! They sure have great memories! And understanding.
I still find it amazing that H gets excited and points animatedly across a crowded shopping centre to a Bananas in Pjamas ride when he's never seen them or anything like them before!
Yes agree Mim1 on all the understanding that is going on. Sorry to hear about the gastrox3! I asked a week or so back, when you were away, when is your job starting and how is weaning going?
Hiya Shazza and Cooper, yes still remember you of course!

Wow - thanks for that list! Of course some of those mums & bubs are MIA now and we've got new ones too, but it's great to see how many of us are still around. How quickly a year has passed.

I'm feeling better - thanks!

Josh has decided to drink from a bottle!! Yeah!! He drank 110ml of formula Saturday night and Sunday morning for mum from a bottle. Then last night he drank 80ml of EBM for me from a bottle, then later in the night he drank 200ml of formula for me! Wow! So, I'm sad to say that breast feeding is coming to an end. I'm just feeding him in the morning this week and then next week I'll stop completely. It's so weird how I've wanted to wean him for ages and now that it's happening I wish it wasn't. Oh well. He was a challenge to get to sleep last night (probably cause he was hungry, then cause he drank so much formula!) but he's been asleep for 8 hours straight now, so that was great!

charis ... sounds like a great day

tabby ... all the best for your long shifts

sammy ... another amazing cake! I tried cake decorating for Christmas and I must say my cakes were extremely underwhelming ... especially cause no-one ate the one I did for the Boxing Day christmas party (they were too full).

liviesmum ... all the best for the next 7 weeks!

Josh is awake - gotta go!

Cordelia

mim - great about the bottle! I reckon once they get it figured out there's no turning back.

needles reaction - caitlin had her second night of SCREAMING last night. tried panadol .... everything. I ended up getting her up (a big no no for us!) and playing with her til aboiut 10 and then she went to sleep straight away.

Continuing happy birthdays to big bubbies!! Looks like we're about half way through.. then the countodwn begins until their 2nd birthday hehe.

Do you have a photo of your sandcastle cake Charis? :P That wiggles one is amazing sam - as usual!! I wish i had a talent like that.

it's getting so busy now - i'm just hanging out for our holiday in Esperance!!! NO plans... and we're taking ltos of dvds to watch when caitlin sleeps. Hang out at the beach... fishing.... sleeping.. ahhhh.... not looking forward to the 7.5 hour drive though!!! My friend is going to lend us her Car DVD player for caitlin. Altho caitlin has no interest in the TV so I don't know if it will work. We were thinking of leaving at like 3am when she's still asleep and that way when she wakes up for brekky we'll be over4 halfway. *fingers crossed* (sounds brilliant in theory but as if it will work!!!)

I also joined Curves gym a few weeks ago!! Actually, it was a Christmas present so am feeling pretty good. I really want to lose sojme weight in the next 6 months before we start TTC. I want to do it properly this time. Not that we didn't last time but I want to do the folate 3 months before and be fit from the beginning. Has anyone done curves?? It just doesn't seem like i'm working that hard.. but I must be!

have a great week everyone

Personally they are great. We brought one for when we travelled from Brisbane to Perth. We didn't think Talon would be to interested in it either but he was. He's favorite was Hi5. He would clap and get excited every time we put it on.:D We were sooo sick of watching Hi5, Thomas the Tank and Max and Millie (new mcdonald farm) by the time we got here .

HI everyone...

So many posts to catch up on. Will read them when i get a chance.

Still house hunting, its very frustrating cos there isnt really alot of houses available this time of year. We have applied for a couple but we'll see. We thought maybe we should just buy but with the interest rates these days i'm really not 100% sure whether we should now or not.
DH has one more week off work so it will be pretty busy trying to find & house before he goes back to work. It will be hard when he goes back cos most houses that are Open for Inspection are usually during the day & not after hours. Anyway.. i'm sure something will come up soon. We got a call from our real estate & they told us our landlord was going to sell soon anyway, so good thing we decided to move now instead of waiting for him.

Sierra is really good. She still has a runny nose... just doesnt want to go away. She has other teeth coming thru so maybe thats why. She has her 12mth CHN appointment on her b'day on wednesday so it will be good to see how much she weighs & how tall she is. Not doing anything really special for her b'day, might head down the beach if its not too hot.

BTW... Sammy, i love that cake. Dont know how you do it... i definately couldnt. Dont have the patience lol.

Thanks for reminding us of the list Charis. I had no idea how all you ladies were managing to remember everyone's bdays!!

Still 2 days to go for us until C turns the big '1'. Has finally had his 3rd tooth (top right) finally cut through after being right under the gum for ages. Next one is pushing up too but still a couple of weeks off I think.

Mim - Yay for drinking from a bottle. And I hear you about the top pulling. Everyone in bunnings got a good look at my bra the other day as C yanked my top with 2 strong hands. I wonder if that'll stop once weaned?

Tabby - don't kno how you do those 11 hour shifts. Hope your boss will sort something out for you.

Sammy - hope M is feeling better soon

Cordelia - hope you are better than me at using gym memberships!

Strawberry - I also think you are amazing. Even if the older girls are able to help out a bit it's still an achievement to be coping with 2 bubs!

Standing - not yet but he is doing alot of 'monkey' walking on hands and feet and straightening legs out under him while leaning on hands. Is this a lead up to standing/walking?

Naps - what are other bubs up to. Except for the odd 30 min morning nap when he wakes prematurely, C has been doing a massive morning sleep eg 9.30am- 12.30pm. I don't know if I should still be trying to give him an afternoon sleep when he does this or it's a sign he's moving to one sleep and I should try stretching him out until bed. He will have another nap but by then it's late arvo and the 7pm bedtime gets delayed.

Tabby
14-01-2008, 02:36 PM
Cat: I noticed Katie just before changing to one nap a day was having cat naps and hard to settle mornings so slowly brought the one nap closer. Now its 12.30-330 only. Took a few grumpy days with trying to stretch it but worked out much better in the end, now at least its a nice long one.

tiredmummy: All the best finding a house while dh home.
Might also just be her cold hanging on if not the teeth, have noticed this last flu/cold is a hanger and most I know its lasted for weeks, still a little chesty here with mine from 4 weeks ago!

Cordelia: All the best to you too with a smooth and happy trip.

Mim: Yay for taking the bottle! Still sleeping better? 8 hrs there in your post so safe to say yes?

The last 2 nights Katie has been a shocker to get to sleep, the 1st night was my late shift and DF got it, he phoned in my break quite distressed as to what to do lol. Finally got her down at 11pm!
My turn again last night and had a bit of a fight and grizzle, but the settle and walk out right away worked, with a few grizzles but found her bottle again and all was well.
I think his error was as you put her in she kicks and plays and he procrastinates leaving trying to get her to lay down etc where as best to pop in bed say goodnights and leave..will see if it works for him tonight while at work as have shown him the way of the Mum's wisdom lol
Either a stage or more so I think teeth, no6 is cutting corner so more painful and seems be way behind the other!

Have just out her down for nap so off to get 30 mins to myself then read for work.

Oh and seeing as I didnt find my way to gp to discuss contraception am due AF approx 10 days or so, am sure I o'ved Friday or so...
If am then the decision is made for me

Oh forgot
We had a attempted break in while I was at work other night, no car so maybe thought no one home.. DF said the dog was barking while trying to settle K so probably then
anyhow they broke a picket off the gate!!!! Even left the tool they used to pry it off, the end off a garden hoe thing!
Luckily "skitz" the dog has turned out just awesome! Must have shat them selves when he went off as looks like dropped the tool and ran LOL

Have a new found appreciation of him ( not that didnt before ) but nothing like knowing my family is safe because of him, a treat with one those home dog baths for him this weekend. He loves water so will enjoy that.

SammyG
14-01-2008, 03:05 PM
Tabby, how scary and thank goodness for "skitz"

Mim, great that Josh is taking the bottle in time for you starting back at work!

Charis, forgot to mention, good news that Hunter coped while you were at work too.

Cordelia, I have heard lots of good stuff about Curves.

Cat, we still do 2 naps if everything is going to schedule. If M wakes around 6am he is usually back in bed by 8:30 for at least a 45min nap. He has a bigger 2hr one from around 1pm. I think we will be doing the transition to 1 nap soon though. I remember DS1 having a Noon nap for ages. He has only recently stopped napping, if he does he drives me crazy staying up well past 9pm.

Tiredmummy, Good Luck, we will be looking for something with 3 bedrooms when I am around 5-6months pg. The boys can then share a room. Michael is still with us for the time being.

I have started on the folate so will be ready to TTC in a month or so!

Happy Birthday to all the Dec/Jan/Feb bubs - yay you made it :yelclap:(and mummy and daddy are still sane...)

Congrats to Strawberry Shortcake on little Tarni - what a great xmas gift!!! Well done!!! You seem to be coping so well - I just love those "I am so happy I just had a baby feelings"!! Oh and she is just beautiful - dainty!!

Sammy G - that cake is amazing!! You could start your own business!

Mim1 - sorry to hear you and Josh were sick - it's even worse when they get sick away from home.... hope you are feeling better.

I would love to see pictures of everyone elses cakes.

Only "three more sleeps" to Emily's 1st Bday - we count everything in sleeps here - it's only 17 more sleeps until DS starts big school.

I was going to do a teddy bears picnic cake for Emily but I went to every shop I could think of today to try and find little bears and a little tea-set - I couldn't find a thing - I was so disapointed :crying: So have tried to come up with something else - she loves dogs and "dog" is her most favourite word at the moment so have thought I'd do a dog chasing chickens into a pond....... it sounds boring!! I can't think what else to do for a girl? Over the years for DS I have done a zoo, dinosaur, thomas, icecream cake (frozen store bought, was pregnant...) and this year I did cupcakes with writing on them.... any easy girlie suggestions???

Not walking alone here yet - just cruising the furniture and walks supported - has taken some independent steps between DH and I but not confident enough to do it on her own... not long though (then I finally lose that extra 2kgs chasing her).

On BFing - still doing it here - and no doesn't seem to be toxic  - better lend your German CHN one of your baby books DragonFlyBlue - let her know that its in English though!! She might just learn something!! Some people are just full of rot!

Anyway we still BF a fair bit - about 6am, 7am, 9.30am, 12noon, 3.30pm, 5.30pm and bedtime about 8pm and thats topped up with soy milk from a sippy cup, she sleeps through till 6am. I work 4 days on 4 days off and my DH works the opposite days to me, so he looks after kids while I am not here and he just replaces (me) the BF's with soy milk from sippy cup - no problems! But she is ever so happy to see me when I get home and attacks my chest - and I am super full by that stage. Has been pulling my shirt down for a while now to get to the milk when she wants it - can be a bit embarassing when in the company of others. But at this stage I have no intention of weaning.... It seems to be working around my work etc and she is happy. Although I have started getting the "how long are you going to keep doing that for?" questions... my latest response is "why - does it affect you?". DS self weaned between 8 and 9 months so I have enjoyed continuing past that point.

Would love to see the sandcastle cake Charis.

Sorry a bit long - don't get on here much so have to get it all out. If you are still reading thanks! Had heaps more to say but.....

Lovely to hear from you 2cutekidz! Lots of MIA mums are popping in lately for the #1 milestone!

Wow we certainly are flourishing in here today! I went to the hairdresser today and went a mouseybrown colour- have not been this light in years- it is hard to get use to but I like it! Felt like I needed a change so I thought I would just do it.

Cordelia- tell us how curves goes- I am considering it after this baby is born. Oh and the DVD player- good idea- we got one for xmas for the girls and it was the best entertainment for them on our big holiday- we did almost 4000km in total and could not have done it easier without the dvd player!

Tabby- Must have missed something- wedding??? When, where and how???? Hope you are feeling ok with these big long exhausting shifts.

tired*mummy- Goodluck with the house hunting, hope you find something that suits before dh returns to work.

Strawberry- thanks for locating the birth story for me- great read!!! It makes me feel so excited about having this bub.

Hello to everyone, hope you are all well today and enjoying the summer weather.

Dilemma- Bridget has taken herself off milk. DD1 did this at 11 months, now Bridget has done the same- will not have a bar of it. I even bought some choc milk today to see if it was a flavour thing but she reacted like it was poison. She wont eat cheese really just custard and yoghurt- I suppose keep those choices available if she wont have milk. What are they meant to have in re: calcium at this age anyways? Any ideas wil be valued.

Better go and get dinner organised, will talk again soon.

Cordelia
14-01-2008, 06:05 PM
livies mum - nurse said today that caitlin should be on 200ml of milk, a container of yoghurt and some cheese minimum. Tha'ts what they NEED.... hope that helps?

SammyG
14-01-2008, 06:30 PM
Liviesmum, cheese sauce made on full fat milk is another way to get some into them! I also find it great for making veges with chicken or tuna tastier! Measure what you put on her breakfast if she has cereal, Michael averages 80mls with his banana and weetbix, almost half of what they need for the day.

mim1
14-01-2008, 09:29 PM
So, I only need to aim for 200ml? Josh is having that already now with his formula on vitabrits in the morning and now an evening bottle. Should I add a morning bottle when I stop breast feeding completely next week or just more food? Any ideas? He also has cheese and custard.

Strawberry_Shortcake
14-01-2008, 09:45 PM
Gee it makes me wonder if Talon is having to much milk. T has almost 1 litre of milk a day.

He has 200mls of milk with brekky.
200ml bottle when he goes down for his morning and afternoon nap.
300ml bottle when going to bed...

Am i giving him to much????

Hi everyone

Big Happy Birthdays to all the bubs who I have missed so far! Hope the day was very special!

Tabby: Congratulations on the job and the engagement! Wow you have a lot on your plate at the moment. Phew lucky you have "skitz"! It is always reassuring once you know your dog will protect you and your family.

Strawberry: Congratulations to you too on the birth of your gorgeous girl Tarni. What a suprise - 2 under 1 for 4 days! Also I didn't think it was possible to give too much milk although I could be mistaken.

Cordelia: Sorry but I've never known anyone who goes to Curves. Isn't that the gym that does all circuits? At least it won't be the same old thing each day.

SammyG: That cake was just awesome - wish you were in Brissie! Oh and you might have a TTC buddy too. We are thinking of just "seeing what happens" come Feb.

2cutekidz: Geez she really loves her boobie juice doesn't she! Knowing that you have gone longer with DD then with DS gives me hope that my next one will last a bit longer. I love your response to "how long are you going to keep doing that" questions:yelclap:

tired*mummy: good luck with the house hunting - air con would be a godsend at this time of year wouldn't it!

Us: well tomorrow I'm finally catching up with a g/f who I haven't seen for a couple of months who has a little girl 4 months older then Cooper - can't wait. Cooper has is needles on Wed - eek not looking forward to that - hopefully not too many side effects. And I got a call today from the company I put my resume in with to come in for an interview. So on Thu I'm off for my first job interview since 1999 - holy moly I'm already crapping myself!

Well I'm off to bed - hope everyone has good sleeps!

Cheers, Shaz :goodvibes:

strawberry ... someone needs to tell Josh to stop at 200ml too perhaps? He drank 200ml last evening, then another 250ml in the middle of the night! And now I've woken up without any milk, so I guess he's weaned and I'm waiting for him to wake up so I can see how much formula he drinks. I looked at the formula tin and it says that 12 - 24 month olds need 3 x 200ml of formula per day. I suppose that's if they don't eat cheese, custard or yoghurt. I guess we don't worry - if it was twice that amount maybe we should try and cut back. In a few months I'm sure their intake will be very different all over again.

shazza ... all the best for the interview - I'm sure you'll be fine! Just remember to smile ! :) Have you bought yourself a new 'interview outfit' yet?

tiredmummy ... 6 years ago I was house hunting at this time of year too and got pretty disheartened by the lack of houses on the market. Then about this time heaps more started being listed and we found ours by mid Feb (we'd made offers on 3 others before this one). So, hopefully you'll find something really soon!

US ... so I'm better, but my milk supply has dried up. So much quicker than I expected. I feel a big sense of loss, especially as I'm sentimental and I had no idea yesterday morning was the last breast feed for Josh. I could keep trying, but my aim was to stop in a week anyway, so I guess it's all over. Josh is drinking from a bottle like there was never any other way to drink and I'm amazed and shocked at how that happened all of a sudden. The 8 hour sleep 2 nights ago was one of the best in weeks. I've noticed my supply dwindling for weeks and I think the night waking was simply from hunger, but then add gastro and tummy pain to that mix and we got very little sleep last week. He was ok overnight, but then awake from 2 - 4:30am. Of course, it's now 9am and he's still sound asleep. I think he was just hungry. I gave him 150ml of formula at 2:30am, but then he came to bed with me and refused to sleep for another hour and a bit. I ended up giving up and trying more milk - the rascal drank another 100ml! Then within 20 minutes he was asleep. I also gave him some panadol as he was running his tongue over his teeth (he has 1 molar through and 2 trying to join the other one). So, next time that happens he'll get a bottle with 250ml of formula and perhaps he'll go back to sleep.

Firstly... MyAlcolo & WildatHeart happybirthday to Madison & Alex! Hope they have a great day.

Big Happy First Birthdays to Madison and Alex- Hope you have great birthdays today!!!!happybirthday

Thanks for your milk advice- there are otherways of getting it in her if I think a little more creatively- she is quite fussy- My mum was like 'well she is year of the dog- they are always fussy with food'!!!! I find Bridget just so particular with anything she is not familiar with.

Bridget has been taking a few steps here and there. She is getting a little braver. Last night she let go of the lounge and took 4 steps before plonking on the ground- thats a good effort as it is usually 2 or three steps, so she is getting there.

Tiredmummy- goodluck with the house:fingerscrossed: it is yours!

Better scoot need to go pay the car rego!!

Tabby - How scary about the attempted break in , thank goodness "skitz" is a great watch dog.

Cordelia - I have also heard good stuff about Curves.

2cutekidz – Nice to hear from you.

Liviesmum – Doesn’t it feel so good when you do something for yourself. I’m getting my hair done this week and hubby is booking me in for a full body massage. So looking forward to that.

Shazza – All the best with the job interview.

Tiredmummy – Good luck with the house. Hopefully it’s yours.

Us – No much to report here. Just ordering girls school books online. DSD1 is heading into grade 5 and DSD2 is starting grade 1. Both Talon and Tarni are  so this is my chance on getting some things done around the house.

Congrats to Bridget on getting braver!

Michael was feverish and miserable again this morning so back to the doc (my one finally and not a medical centre) His tonsils are still pretty red but he said to just keep going with pain relief & antibiotics for now! He's much more himself now after a pureed meal so it wouldn't hurt going down!

Happy Birthday to Madison & Alex happybirthday

liviesmum: Yes we set a date for the wedding, 17th may! So have started preparing and booking etc. also found my dress already.
Off Friday to dress soon to be sil as she is bridesmaid and find a dress for her. Also will check out one for Katie the flower girl more closely so can choose easier later to date so will fit.
I wouldnt worry the no milk as long as other forms of calcium are kept up, yogurt , custards etc. Not sure on the requirement but if shes not liking the milk then to just add at least 3 serves of other a day should be okay imo.
I agree with Sammy too on the white sauce or cheese sauce, also makes lots of things tastier, we even add to veg for a change, or 2nd day of spag bog to give a different taste.

Strawberry: Katie also is on a lot of dairy! # bottles of 200 a day plus she loves all the other dairy too. She likes it and its good for her so I figure why not?

Shazza: All the best for needles Wed, we are late for ours and off Wed also to get them, Hugs for both of us and the little ones :hugs:
Good luck with the interview! Dont worry, I was nervous too first time back but you get used to it again.

Mim: Katie has the 3x200 but lots of dairy as well. Occasionally another bottle is added through the day/ night somewhere, I dont think we need worry, still growing babies after all and must need it if drinking it all?
:hugs: for the end of Bfing..very hard to come to terms with yes and will take time.

tiredmummy: good luck with the house! Hope you get it.

Sammy; Big hugs for Michael, poor love hope hes better soon xx

Got to go work soon! Again a 11 hr shift, have decided its just too much and will look for new job from tomorrow on my days off, even if he changed to morning shift its 330am start so will always be tired that one too.

Sammy- hope michael gets better, it is horrible being sick in the heat.

Kewlchic- How exciting first u/s! hope m/s wears off soon.

Strawberry- so much on your plate! Am i being really nosey but you have both dsd with you -permanently???

Feeling really tired atm- want to take kids for a swim but lacking the energy to do so!

Went down town earlier to get Bridget a b'day pressie- so hard to buy this soon after xmas- we got a toy phone, babies pram, some pop up toy, a unicorn head thing with a stick and there was a stacking thing. Probably too much but was all quite cheap! We are having a party on Saturday for her so not going to do too much tomorrow.

Better go and find a bit of motivation to begin entertaining these kids!:smiliedance:

We had a great party on sunday- very big with about 40 people (I couldn't believe it!). He got lots of presents but he hasn't opened the ones from us yet. We had a giraffe cake.. yes very us.. (he's a real wild child .. he he he..)

My parents have been staying here so i have been getting sleep ins! woo hoo..

I am very sentimental about him growing up and I have such wonderful feelings about what was happening this time last year.. *sigh* (even though I had a pretty awful birth it was still one fo the best days!!). Just shows how clusky i really am.. I see newborns around everywhere i go and dh keeps saying.. 'I want a little girl"... so hopefully this month might be the month...

he is going really well- I suspect he will eb walking soonm as he is crusing along the playpen and the cot. he stood up on his own on Christmas eve and now stands everywhere- its the "new sitting" for him. I can't quite belive it, given how long it took him to sit and crawl but maybe he loves to get around now.

Strawberry shortcake- i love the new avatar..

Mim- :hugs: for the breastfeeding.. i suppose it had to stop sometime for you and at least there was no "tugging" at the top for weeks while you tried to wean him. I am supposed to be weaning alexander from his morning breastfeed soon but I just haven't gotten round to it. I feel the same way.. I want to stop so I get to be a selfish mum and not worry when I am late back from work etc.. (selfish I know), but then it's just soo easy to feed him so I do..

Dairy: hard to know what to do about the routines etc when I wean from breastfeeding as I am trying to figure out the day sleeps and milk etc. My sleep angels gave me a good routine for 12 mths but they suggest bubs not going down for sleep til 11.30 but I can't imagine getting alexander to stay up past 10am at the moment.. do you just adjust it gradually each day? Do they just replace cows milk for the breastfeeds? Or is it important just to make sure they get enough dairy each day.. hmm

Havent heard yet if the house is ours yet... the realestate was supposed to call me this morning so DH called them before & they said that they were having trouble getting onto the landlord cos they are overseas. She said she would have an answer for us by lunchtime tomorrow... she also said that she has put 2 applications to the landlord ours being one of them, she said ours was a better application but she couldnt say we would definately get it. Here's hoping though. I was hoping i would know by now cos i have another house to look at, at 6pm & dont want to find anything i like more lol. But then again, i dont want to not look at it & we dont get the other place.

I do'nt think a dairy overdose is a bad thing!! And besides, girls could especially do with a bit of extra calcium. A good thing to do also!!! With the milk is to put less powder in. so 240mls of water but only 3 scoops instead of 4.

Caitlin is still really struggling with these needles... we are now on Day 8 after and still fever and crying and more crying. Panadol takes the edge off. I'm leaving DH with her tonight to go to the movies. Naughty!! But just really need a break from the crying.

Got Caitlin weighed too and she's 8.4kgs - what a heffer!! (yeah right..) no - she's still gaining around 100g a week which I know a lot of larger babies have started slowing down. So the gap is slowly but surely getting closer!

That's fantastic about Tarni!!!!!

cordelia ... 8 days of fever? That doesn't sound usual after vaccinations. Josh was only ever affected for 1 - 2 days. Have you taken her back to the GP?

Josh drank 200ml before bed tonight and started drinking before I could even sit down with the bottle. He's taken to bottle drinking like a duck to water! How amazing! I still have no milk. Where did it go?

dh just rang ... gotta go!

Yep we have the girls permanently. Hubby has full custody of them. Their mum doesn't want anything to do with them.

Tiredmummy- any news on the house yet?

Us – Well today was the day i was booked in to have my ceaser. Tarni didn’t like the date we picked, she wanted to set her own date to arrive:laughing:. DD has the same problem as Talon had when he was a bub. a very minor case of reflux, so looks like AR formula for her. No going to do much today. Its going to be a hot :sunshine: one here.

happybirthday to Bridget, Sierran and Cameron for today, and a huge happybirthday to all the little ones I've missed over the past few days/week.

Shazza...great to hear from you again. Good luck with the interview, just be yourself! I had an interview on Monday, I wore clothes I was comfortable in and figured if they didn't like who I was, then there would be someone else that did. As a result the interview went really well. Have been told I've got a 99.99% chance of geting it, but they won't make a decision until he comes back from holidays after teh Aus Day long weekend.
Tabby...scary to hear of the att break-in, but good to hear your dog did it's job. I think it's great that you're prepared to look for another job if you've decided the hours of this one are too much.
Strawberry...I think you can give a child too mcuh milk, though I don't know exactly how much that is. Found this one a website:
"Infants and toddlers who consume too much milk often have no appetite for meals or snacks. So although they consume enough calories to grow, they will not be getting the benefits of eating a balanced diet. Another important effect of "over-consumption of milk" is related to iron. Iron is another essential nutrient necessary for proper growth and development. Regular homogenized cow's milk does not contain enough iron. As a matter of fact, what little iron is in milk is not very well absorbed by a child's intestine and does not get into the body. So not only is milk a poor source of iron, drinking too much, results in a child eating less of other foods that would normally provide the iron they need. Also, in some cases the cow's milk protein may actually irritate a child's intestine causing low level, long standing, yet almost invisible blood loss in the stools. What does this mean? Since the major storage area of iron is in our red blood cells, if we lose blood, we lose iron. All these factors contribute to iron deficiency anemia, which means that the body cannot make enough red blood cells due to a lack of iron. So these infants and toddlers which have iron deficiency anemia are referred to as "Milk-babies" because their complexion is whiter or paler than normal they due to anemia. Anemia can also cause fatigue, irritability and in severe cases even heart failure. In terms of long term effects, studies have shown that iron deficiency anemia during the first years of life, may cause delays in the psychomotor development of a child. "
Sammy...great cake, if only I had your talent. Will post pics of TJ's cake soon.
Cordelia...Enjoy your holiday!
Tired Mummy...hope you hear about a house soon.

We had a great party on Sunday. TJ didn't know what was happening, but we all had fun. She wasn't sure of the candle on her cake, but loved the cake itself - had two pieces. Will post photo's soon.

:smiliedance:TJ has started sleeping through. She has a cry when put to bed, and if she wakes up in the night I give her a quick drink of water and walk out again. Sometimes she'll cry, but is resettling ok. Have also found that leaving her to cry when she wakes at 5, means she resettles and sometimes sleeps 'til 8.:smiliedance:

No further development with walking.

Sorry for the long post,
Have a great day,
Lisa

Mouse, you just described DS1 down to a tee regarding milk. He would drink a litre a day if I let him. I water it down now so it doesn't fill him up and give him watered down juice and water as often as I can convince him to switch. Still not a fab eater but is improving!

Michael is a different kettle of fish, loves his wake-up bottle - screams the house down till he has it! But he's not keen on milk after lunch and semi-interested at nighttime. 200mls, I was so relieved to hear that figure, we do that plus yoghurt, custard, cheese.

Just did a quick shop and DS1 scored a nice freebie at Woolies, a cool little tent with space ships all over it, one of the staff just came up, scribbled over the bar code and explained it was excess xmas clearance. Worth $30 and very cute. Ben says he's gonna sleep in it tonight! Let's se if it survives once Michael wakes up!

Charis, lovely of you to remember all my contractions throughout Jan 07, all you ladies must have gotten sick of hearing about my 5week long pre-labour! I was certainly tired of it all back then!

Mouse, that cake is gorgeous!!! You had a lot of patience to ice it like that! The girls look gorgeous as usual!

I can't decide what to do for Michael, something with hard icing like the Wiggles cakes you have all seen (was thinking fire engine or blue truck) or do I do something gooey and yummy like a fluffy blue teddy bear with soft meringue frosting?

Any suggestions appreciated!

I've limited DD1's milk to bedtime and occasionally a little during the day. Found she was filling up too much with milk and not eating enough (especially at dinner time). TJ still has daytime bottles, but I'm not worried about her as the only other dairy she has is yogurt, being lactose free.
Sammy...go for something gooey that he can squish between his fingers and smear everywhere. It's so much more fun for them that way.

No talent required with a shaped cake tin. Just a matter of 'colouring in' the marked lines.

milk ... the reason that josh has gone onto formula rather than milk is b/c my iron levels were low and his paed wanted him on formula, so that information doesn't apply.

As for getting full on milk, I wish that were the case! Josh had 200ml at 8pm, 1am, 4am (didn't sleep from 1- 4am), and 9am. Then at 10:30am he had 1 1/2 vitabrits with another 100ml of formula, then a whole banana. Since then he's had 2 cheese bread stick things (like rusks - he loves them!), a slice of bread with vegemite, a tub of apple puree and a tub of custard. Hi everyone

A huge Happy Birthday to the big 1 year olds - Sierra, Cameron and Bridget!!!!

tired*mummy - my fingers are crossed for you that you get one of the houses! Don't you wish ppl would call when they say they would!

mouse - thanks! So 99.99% congratulations on the job are in order?! Awesome job on the cake even if it was just the icing! And such cute kids!

Sammy - that is so cool about the tent! Its not often these days that things get given away in the supermarkets! Not too sure what me "interview outfit" is yet - will prob leave it to the last minute knowing me!

Tabby - Wow! What a sleep! I wish I was that lucky! Job hunting - have I missed something? Hugs for Katie for her needles today (and you too for having to watch)!

mim1 - I'm sure Josh won't mind if he doesn't get a pressie on his b'day. I didn't give Cooper his pressie til late at night and I didn't even wrap it - bad mummy! And his other pressie I haven't even made yet - a name plaque.

Us - Well we had our needles today and Cooper decided to take 3 steps while we were in the dr's surgery! Then when we got home he took a max of 5 steps at a time! Where has my baby gone - he will be walking before I know it!!! Then we went looking for child care in case I do get this job tomorrow and geez its hard to find one! Has anyone thought of booking into Kindys yet? Do we need to do it this soon?

Big sleeps for everyone!
Cheers, Shaz :goodvibes:

Shazza, I really wish someone had told me about waiting lists for Pre-School. I knew about shortlists for long daycare but didn't realise the same went for Pre-School. You have to be 3yrs old to be in PS and you can put their name down at various places once they turn 2. Luckily I got DS1 in for Weds this year but if I'd known what it was all about he would have made it into the more popular mon/tues routine. I opted for a PS that runs 9-3 and you supply their food. $39 a day. Next year he can go either Thurs/Fri or Wed/Thurs/Fri and that will more than likely depend on whether we have a #3 or not.....

Congrats to Cooper on those precious steps!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Tomorrow to JOSH !! happybirthday

Mim: Josh has a great appetite by the sounds of it. Katie does too but still likes her milk, she still has minimum of 3x200mls. Usually depends on amount of breaky, if she doesnt have much she has a top up 200 there as well.
Glad you got that lovely rest in, does make us feel heaps better thats for sure.

Sammy: ah makes sense now, a tent! lol Lots of fun to be had with that I would think. Might have to get Katie one of those indoor ones, would be heaps fun there am sure.

Shazza & Mim, Yep I do "like" my new job BUT its involves a few 11+ hr night shifts! and during the week is up to me to get up to Katie after bed at 3ish am. Mum could come look after her then too while I sleep but I would never see anyone as would be off to another 11 hr shift by 3pm the next day too. Besides the seeing everyone IM BUGGERED! thats just too long a shift and looking after a family. Alright for most who work there as grown up kids or no family so can sleep all day if need/want. The short of it is: I cannot function on 4 hrs sleep and then a 11 hr shift to come home and have to do it a 2nd and 3rd day in a row and still look after and spend time with the family.
So am looking for a day one where can still spend the late arvo and evenings with the family.

Shazza: Didnt get to the needles today as had to wait for new lounge suite to arrive, didnt come till 4pm! Wish those sort of things could give you a estimate time instead of "sometime today". Anyhow, thanks for thinking of us, think of us for tomorrow instead now :D
WOOHOO for the slow but steady steps huh! Well done Cooper and hugs for todays jabs :hugs:

Morning all!

I agree that our babies have gone! And they are now toddlers! Eik! Mum cut Josh's hair a couple of days ago and he now looks more like a little boy. He's also gesturing for things he wants and eating adult like food. I definitely feel like my baby has grown up. He's not walking yet, so at least that is to come.

tabby ... 4 hours sleep isn't much, and 3am starts sound like a real challenge. So, hopefully you'll find another job soon.

sammy ... I hope you get your nap, sounds like an interesting night!

dragonflyblu ... clea sounds like a great little walker. My niece is doing similar things - she loves to walk everywhere and so it makes for VERY long walks. We've got that to look forward to. How's the job hunt/discussion going?

shazza ... :smiliedance: for walking!

schools/kinder ... we really should put josh's name down at schools as we were going to send him to a private school. If only we knew where we'd be living in 4 years time, it would make the decision so much easier!

happybirthday to my Joshie! He's 1! This time last year I was being induced and very over the whole labour thing. How quickly the year has flown.

Josh did much better last night, going down at 8pm after 170ml of milk. He drank 270ml (!!) of milk at 2am, then went back to sleep within 1/2 hour, sleeping through til 7am. It's the first night in ages that he hasn't ended up in bed with me. I made him a photo slideshow on the computer with photos of us - I'm going to send it with him to mum's house when he goes there 3 days a week. That way he can see us when he wants. He enjoyed watching it this morning.

Josh has been so good with strangers, then all of a sudden he's had 2 bad reactions to people. On Tuesday night at mum's house he cried when my Grandpa arrived. It took him quite a well to get comfortable around him. It's never been a problem before and it's only been 3 weeks since he last saw him. Then, last night my dh's parents came over and Josh took one look at his Pop and burst into hysterical tears and took ages to be consoled by me. I was embarrassed. I know it's normal, but the timing wasn't great. My FIL understood, but still ...

Thanks for the bday wishes for Cameron yesterday and glad to hear his birthday buddies Bridget & Sierra had good days too.

Well we mostly had a good day. He was quite placid for most of it and I thought maybe it was a newfound 1yr old maturity but alas he was just not feeling well - woke from his arvo nap burning up with a fever which was 39.5 when he went to bed with panadol last night. So a quiet day, just gave him some pressies when DH got home from work and a muffin with a candle to blow out after dinner time. He's still a bit sooky today but temp is down and seems fine otherwise so :fingerscrossed: that's it and no major illness on it's way. I'm glad we didn't do his needles yesterday or else I'd have been blaming the fever on that. Going to do them next week after his bday BBQ on Sunday.

Happy bday to Josh and Emily for today.

We had a good day yesterday with Bridget- we went to the park for lunch before a big thunderstorm wiped that out! We had both grandparents over for dinner for Apricot Chicken as that is about the only dish I cook that Bridget really likes! Party day is Saturday!

dragonfly - walking backwards! I don't think I've ever seen a baby walking backwards - that would be pretty funny to watch! How long after taking a few steps did it take Clea to be walking everywhere?

mim - my god daughter went through a stage of not liking men. If they paid her any attention she would just cry and trying to hold her - holy moly watch out! The only men she would go to were her Dad, my DH and our other good friend who was living with them at that stage. Hopefully it is just a phase for Josh too.

liviesmum - it doesn't take long to accumulate junk does it!! I already need to do a big clean out of Coopers room as I'm running out of room to put stuff! Glad you had a good time b4 the thunderstorm hit. Yum Apricot Chicken! Do you mind sharing the recipe?

Us: Forgot to say the other day that Cooper is now 9.9kg and 77cms. The doc is pretty happy with his growing considering his op.

And my interview went really well today!! He has basically told me I've got the job but he still has one interview to go and he wants to give them a chance. Said he will call me tomorrow so fingers crossed! My brother said that if all else fails in the interview to just flash my boobies - typical male!

Cooper has definately switched on a bit more in the last week - he just seems that little bit older/smarter. Today when mum was watching him he was playing with a toy and mum was trying to work out his turtle toy (you push the buttons down and his head pops out). Cause his head was out mum was pushing the buttons and nothing was happening so Cooper came over and pushed the head back in for mum! He would then go back to what he was doing and then everytime mum made the head pop he would stop and push it back in for mum - how cute!!

Anyways thats enough :ecomcity: from me.

Cheers, Shaz :D

Shazza, no nap  My own fault though, I got into a rare cleaning frenzy and scrubbed my whole kitchen and gave the shower a good clean! I think I may be a bit sore tomorrow but I like looking at my gleaming kitchen!

I'm off to do some paid market research tomorrow afternoon, $120 cash for talking about Formula with a bunch of women for 3hrs. :smiliedance: Mum is coming to babysit the boys.

Shazza – Great to hear that your job interview was successful.

Sammy – Must have been one of those days here aswell. I cleaned our 2 bathrooms and the kitchen too. Told everyone they need to put things away in the appropriate places. Let’s see how long that last for. Just have to mop the floor before going to bed.

Liviesmum - please share your apricot chicken recipes. I hope your big clean went well.

Tabby – :fingerscrossed:you find a different job soon. I totally understand where you’re coming from. When I was younger I had 2 jobs at the one time. One of them was shift work and yes 12 hour shifts at that. I saved s^%t loads of money but at the end of the day wasn’t worth it as I didn’t really have much of a life. Hope Katie feels ok after her needles.

Tiredmummy – how did you go with those house?

Mim – Hopefully its just a stage he's going through. When anyone saids hello or talks to T he puts his head down, making out he’s shy but they all know he’s not lol. He's never done this to people before, this started about 3 weeks ago now.

Us – Talon took 3 steps to me today unaided :smiliedance:. Ever since then I’ve been trying to get him to do it for DH but he won’t do it . I bet he’ll walk when his daddy is at work. Tarni has finally got herself into a routine :yelclap:. She feeds every 4 hours during the day. Last night her last feed was at 10.30 and she didn’t wake up till 4.30 for her next feed, then went back to sleep and didn’t wake till 8ish. So I’m pretty happy with that.

Anyway time to bath Tarni and feed her.

Take care
Kel

Hi all,

I didnt get to the gp for jabs, too hot! hit 41 today and I lack energy as is so have postponed till my 4 days off next week. Thats okay isnt it, to postpone them a few weeks?

Shazza: yay, glad the interview went so well! well done.

Strawberry: Awesome that Tarni has got such a great routine already! and well done to Talon for his steps!

Apricot chicken, yummy and ever so easy! Roll chicken pieces in flour, heat up a large tin of apricot necter and 2 packets french onion soup (no added salt ones ) till dissolves, then pour over chicken pieces and bake till golden brown.turning and basting a few times
.aww yum, now I want some lol

Had lots of replies planned but too pooped to pop here! lol
Still tired after 2nd day off...what the.
Have just applied for a few online so :fingerscrossed: I get one and can hand in notice on Saturday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH and EMILY, YAH YAH YAH. A wonderful day to all I hope.

So gorgeous to read about the turtle! :smiliedance:Yes are so much more cognisant of the world..and even humor I find. H didn;t have an arvo sleep (!) I know and I had a v stressful work call this morning, on the way to Rhyme Time, thankfully there is something about singing 'this little piggie' that rids ones mind of horrid people. Same client as was super nasty almost a year ago..yes I resigned from the job three months ago! Had a lunchtime meeting and H's Dad still on holidays and for the first time these holidays looked after him while I worked! prammed him along beach top and then we all had lunch and dip..but such a HOT :mad:day here today. poor bub.

Anyway..so very cooling 0degree!!!! reading about Clea walking to the shop!!!! WOW and also walking backwards is just so cute.

V sorry to hear about Cameron, hope he is back to his happy well self tomorrow.:sunshine:

Best do some more work. Or wash the dishes or mop the floor. StrawShort you are amazing! I;ve been so tired to mop before going to bed the last few days and there you are with a 3wk old bub mopping the floor!!!!! WOW WOW. V cute about the 'bashful' Talon, certainly just a phase. I think jealous is the wrong word, but does he want your attention when Tarni is getting it?? Happy sleeps for the littlest one!! Night all xxxxxx

Oh am keen on the ingredients on the tuna/asp mornay MB :)

I am up- awake, not feeling the best but bored so thought I would get on and share that with you all!!! I have been awake since 2 am, bubs is moving so much and it is so uncomfortable. I feel slightly nausious (sp?) and my hips and back and legs and the front of my belly are just aching. And to top it off I feel really hungry!!!

Tabby- thanks for posting the apricot chicken recipe- really simple and yet so yummy hey? Like I said about the only thing Bridget likes that I cook, yet dd1 has never liked it? Hope you are going ok with those big long shifts.

Strawberry- sounds like you are sorted with Tarni in a routine- :smiliedance: yeah for Talons steps- Bridget is at that stage too- 4 steps unaided is all she has matered so far!

I really need to try and get some sleep, I have to get the party ready for Saturday and have family coming to stay tomorrow (no actually thats later on today!!!) arvo and I am having lunch with a few girls from work to catch up before school goes back in 10 days- 10 DAYS YIKES!!!

Liviesmum, hope you got a bit more sleep and are feeling a bit more comfortable.

Tabby, thanks for your recipe for apricot chicken, I like to put chopped up onion and mushrooms in mine too. :fingerscrossed: on the jobfront.

Charis, Sorry to hear you have to deal with your nasty client again. Rhyme Time sounds great.

Strawberry, fantastic routinefor Tarni and what a great overnight rest for you - hope you weren't awake and waiting for her to feed.

Me, I have a very sore right forearm from my nutty cleaning and got up this morning to find DH had dripped something sticky on my pristine counters and left plates out etc :hair: Cooler day here again today - lovely!

Just a quick one

Apricot Chicken...I don't think I go to as much effort as you Tabby, LOL. I cut up Breast pieces into cubes (3-4 breasts), sprinkle over a pkt of French onion soup, pour over cold tin of apricot nectar then add the apricots from a lge tin of apricot halves and into the oven it goes. Sammy, I'd enjoy the mushrooms, but everyone else would complain.

Tuna/Asparagus mornay....I make a white sauce (butter, plain flour and milk), drain the juice of a tin of asparagus cuts into the sauce too. Add a tsp of mustard powder, S&P. In goes a drained lge tin of tuna, tin of creamed corn, the tin of asparagus cuts, and some pre-cooked pasta. For DD1 and myself I also add some grated cheese. Can give you the specific measurements if you really want, but it's been so long since I looked at the recipe that I can't remember them. This freezes well, so I always make a big batch and put lots of meals for TJ in the freezer.

Had better do some work, will try and get back on soon.

Cordelia...when do you go one holidays?

oh you guys and your recipes. *I* have the best apricot chicken recipe... I shall dig it out later on.. where's the sour cream? where's the curry powder? This is gourmet food here!!!

(I hope you all took that in the humourous way it was intended! Don't want any internet stalkers on my doorstep)

i'm not going away until the 5th Feb... I'm just talking about a month in advance becuase I am *SO* hanging out for it!!! :P

Tabby - caitlin was 2 weeks late with needles - I don't think it's a big deal to leave it for a bit - particularly if theyr'e sick/it's hot/etc.

I think sh'es finally over the needles though. Man, it was BAD!!!! Mim - the reaction is 5-12 days later so we were told not to be concerned.

Anyway, I stink from the gym. And my bones hurt. I'm going to go soak in a shower while I can!!

Well done TJ on sleeping through- Mouse you probably dont know yourself having this sleeping baby!!!

Great recipe ideas- esp for the calcium intake- the casseroles, chicken and tuna would be good.

Well I did go back to bed this morning, I went to sleep sometime after 5:30- that was the last time I looked at the clock and managed to sleep til 8:45am, still feel quite tired though and a bit off- this baby is just moving all the time and seems to really hate it when i lay down on my back or sides- might need to sleep in a more upright position.

Need to go shopping for this party tomorrow- might go this arvo- Bridget is sleeping soundly:sleeping:- should go rest myself.

yay TJ! Looks like your on your way to much better nights now Mouse.

liviesmum: I found mid/late pregnancy that sleeping semi upright was the only way to get rest without all the aches/pains! Hope you find a comfortable way and get some better sleeps.

kewlchichmum: hehe better early nesting bug than later? Least you can move around easier and not ache all over afterwards lol. Dont forget to rest up as well though!

Cordelia: Thanks, didnt think it mattered too much, so will head there this coming week. Also have a this horrid skin tag thingy on my back/shoulder area I need get removed anyhow. dont want that showing in the dress!
So ill get my owies first then Katie can have hers and we can be owies together lol

Glad shes over the reactions! Im dreading that here too, spec with my not being here nights most of the week, BUT am fixing that, applying left right and centre and will hand notice for a week tomorrow, have no doubts will get something by then, if not, no biggy, DF earning much more now can support us all till I do.
Applied at local cafe, was walking past and they had a sign up, 11am-3pm! Perfect! Am off to meet with her on Monday.

Charis: was a terrible start to the day but sounds like it ended beautifully! The beach dip everything.awww.

Katie slept yesterday till 950am and today to 9.10am lol. and so far has been down for 3hrs nap! Still there, but can here the banging / tossing noises ready to wake.
ahh just like Mummy, likes her sleep lol

Went out this morning with the soon to be sil and she found a absolutely gorgeous bridesmaid dress. Cost more than mine did!!!!! Lucky the bridesmaid pay for own lol.

off for feet up while shes still napping.
3am start again tomorrow, so am not going to miss that part.

Thanks everyone for the happy birthday wishes for Josh. We had a good day. We took a day trip to visit my dh at his conference nearly 2 hours drive away (my mum came with us). Josh slept most of the drive (both ways) and so he was full of beans for the couple of hours he got to spend seeing Daddy. He even got to sit on the bonnet of a fire engine (there was a fire drill while we were there and they have their own fire engine). He got to try chocolate cake and grapes for the first time. The grapes were a big hit, and the chocolate cake was fun to squash and play with, but apparently not that yummy for a baby boy (it was yummy for the rest of us!). We got home at 4pm and he didn't go to sleep for another 5 1/2 hours!!! I was looking forward to an early night, but after 3 attempts at milk (80ml, 300ml (yes, that is correct) and another 150ml) he finally decided it was time for sleep. THEN he slept til 7am! So, apart from 1 resettle at midnight he slept for 10 hours! I'm hoping for a rerun tonight, but he didn't want an afternoon nap, so after being awake for 4 1/2 hours he went down at 6pm, presumably for the night. We'll see what happens.

tabby ... :hugs: for having to quit your job. 11am - 3pm would be great time, I hope you can find a job like that instead.

liviesmum ... I was sleeping at least 12 hours a day, if not 15 on a bad day, after about 30 weeks. I hope you can find more times like this morning to get a nap.

mouse ... yeah for TJ sleeping through! I understand how much that should be celebrated!

cordelia ... so I shouldn't expect a reaction within a day or two with these needles? I go back to work in 2 weeks and I'm trying to find the best time for the needles. I don't want him miserable for his party in a week, and I'm not sure what to do.

Should go, dh is due home within an hour :smiliedance: and the house looks like a bomb hit it!

how did we get onto recipes? I must have missed something

I have never made apricot chicken. My lazy chicken recipe is soup. put roughly chopped veges, a whole chicken maybe some herbs, garlic, a little salt in a really big pot with heaps of water and let it simmer / cook for a few hours topping up water every now and then. I do this maybe once a fortnight when i am home all day. it takes a few hours to cook but maybe 10 minutes to prepare and it is yummy. clea loves it.

tabby i dont know how you have been working like you have! I would be exhausted. i am sure you will find something more suitable. Hey have you thought about being a child carer, you know setting up a daycare in your home. With your homeschooling experience and your extensive mothering experience.....

cordelia internet stalkers  i had a stupid image of computers on your doorstep banging on your door. yes I know I need more sleep!

mim glad the birthday went well. Clea likes grapes to. I think they are fun to eat. Little detailed things for little fingers.

liviesmum thanks for bringing back memories of the joy of pregnancy

okay i really need to go clean and make breaky while clea sleeps.

Hey there,

Mouse – :smiliedance: on T sleeping through. Thanks for tuna/asp mornay recipe . Sounds abit like my tasty cheesy tuna twists.

Liviesmum – :hugs: to you darl. I was like that at the end of my last pregnancy. Not long now sweetie till you have your bundle in your arms. Have you got any girls names picked out yet?

Kewlchicmum – Don’t worry I cancelled Talon’s needles on Wednesday. Hubby has done the needles since T was born. I hate needles at the best of times.

Mim - good to hear that Josh’s birthday went well.

Charis – The beach sounded lovely. As for Talon wanting my attention when Tarni is getting it. Nah no problems at all. I try and spend so much time with Talon so he deosn’t think Tarni is getting all the attention. I also make sure I get him involved when I have her with me like holding her bottle or dummy. I sometimes read his favorite book to him while feeding bub.

Better get going this post has taken me ages, have Tarni in one arm and typing with the other. Hubby has just finished cooking dinner (roasted salmon fillets with salad and chip) yum. Time to eat it and sit down and watch the tennis, this perth chicky is doing well atm.

Take care

kewlchicmum: I was just saying how we are late for our needles. I have been making the lamest of excuses but I know I have to take her..this coming week I promise!
Ah wish I had that energy through out with Katie lol
Pretty sure from 30 weeks I was the biggest couch potato cept for 1 day there just before labour, true nesting where I went nuts then ached all over for days after lol!

DFB: I know! child care is what I would love to do but public housing doesnt allow business's from home :( . It was originally my first idea when wanting return to work
The thought will be in back of my head until we hopefully buy own place end this year or so. A house that wont need much change to accommodate them and spacious back yard/lawn etc.

I had another call back, carpet place offering base wage of approx $500 plus 10% commission on total sales..Have the weekend to think about it and call her back.

Mim: Sounds like the day was awesome and he got to go on a fire truck! great sleeps through out too, nice! Fingers crossed the 6pm goes till morning for you.

Off to bed shortly, just put Katie to bed 9pm, later than usual but she slept till 10to5 this arvo.
:fingerscrossed: shes ready for bed because I certainly am lol

till days off, Wednesday, good sleeps to all xx

so tired! Katie woke again to vomit about a hr after sleep. 2nd time in a week. Am contemplating no milk after arvo...Did read adult reflux can be set off by certain things, one being what she had both time, tomato sauce and tomato based sauces..my spag bog! Which she absolutely loves! Will cut that out first and see how goes, if no luck will cut milk out from arvo onwards. Its so distressing to see her power vomit till nothing is left. She sleeps then wakes crying to pick her up and do that.

So I have had 3 hrs sleep, installs that am making the right decision handing in notice today.

Have 2 positions so far, one interview Monday and other shes letting me think it over over the weekend before meeting. the carpet rug one. 500 base wage + comm. 9-5 mon/tue/thu/frid/sat..wed/sunday off..tempting $ that one and other not quite enough 11-3 daily..hmm decisions decisions lol

well almost 3am spose better get moving :(
ah well only today/mond/tues to go and rest are RDO so short week then no more.

I am so tried to today the house over the road had a party last night teenagers mum went away for the night and he had a party. Don't get me wrong I love parties and all for people having them it's when you have them all out the front drinking and all playing music from there cars and then couples coming over onto your lawn making out to all hours of the morning. So I fixed up the couples on my lawn and in my front yard I turned on the retic I was also home alone as DH was away FIFO it always happens when he is not home then they all left at round 2.30am and Lachlan woke up and stayed awake still 4.30am when I had enough and put him in his cot with a bottle cause he was just trying to play with me. So my eyes are hanging out of my head and he has not had much of a sleep today so I could'nt even have one myself.:crying:
Hope you all are having a great day after my :hissy:

Arrrggh - you know when your kids go quiet that they are up to something. Well I just found Macy sitting on the kitchen floor having emptied a tub of cream onto herself and the floor and having a lovely time doing a finger painting  You just cant tell them off when they are soo happy about it and give you the cheekiest grin. Cant complain too much, it was my fault for leaving the cream where she could reach it.

Had a reasonably good day apart from that, got to go and have a facial which was lovely.

Yesterday I took Macy for her 12mth needles and all good so far. Oh and she had her cardio check up on thursday and the hole in her heart has closed over :yelclap: They also weighed and measured her: 8.88kg and 74.5cm so she's still on the petite side of things

Tabby - I dont know how you have coped without the sleep, i turn into a witch without my beauty sleep. Hope Katie has a good night for you with no more vomiting

Strawberry - you sound like you are coping so well. I only hope I do half aswell when this next one comes along

Well i better finish cleaning up the cream, just had to share it with you.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone

No ideas here sorry, ds2 was like that, I just waited it out, hope thats not the case for you though and you find a solution.

Korah: LOL @ the cream episode, bet that was LOTS of fun hehe. yes, little sleep does make me a witch too but am very lucky with a very understanding other half and family. They let me rant knowing its only temporary and sleep deprivation.

Handed the notice in yesterday am shift, today off then back for the 11 hr stint 3pm tomorrow and tuesday then 3 RDO's that count in my weeks notice so thats good.
Still tired..I think I over did it and even when sick with a flu I kept going, it finally caught up with me.

OMG I am so tired. We had Bridgets party yesterday, so that was really full on- great day though. Was pretty wet, cold and miserable but we made it work well.

Today we had a 4th bday party and a christening to go to- the christening actually turned into a suprise wedding!!!!! My friend decided to tie the knot after christening their daughter- I wish she had let me in on the secret as I had no tissues and I always get emotional at weddings!

Tabby- :fingerscrossed: for the new job offers and interviews- I hope you get something that suits you and your family.

Kewlchic- parties are great but not when they go til all hours of the morning when you have sleeping children.

Needles- not yet here either- waiting til my dr gets back from holidays in another week.

Strawberry- dh sounds like he cooks some nice meals- salmon you lucky duck! Names for bub- yeah they are coming along we still have not definately decided, will let you know when we do if it is before bub comes. I have a bit of convincing to do!!!

Great photos livies mum - look at the cake!!! Very cool! :) And how cool turning up to a wedding and it's actually a christening.

We had the last of 10000 1st birthdays today. Hooray! (no, theyve all been great fun!)

Caitlin's tooth got hijacked on the way down.... so I guess we'll wait for a return sometime in the future. *RIPS HAIR OUT*

She started standing from sitting today without the support of anything!!! She was sitting tehre in the middle of nowhere and next thing she just stands up without pulling herself up on anything! :) AmAzing. I can't even do that.

Apricot chicken - i have the recipe right here. I shall copy it out later tnoight because I MUST watch the tennis - go casey!!!!

Thanks for all those recipes everyone. I used the cream of chicken casserole the other night, but I used a can of cream of celery soup instead of the cream of corn - that's how my mum does it. It works really well with celery chopped into it too by the way.

tabby ... all the best for work.

cordelia ... hope caitlin's tooth makes a real appearance

liviesmum ... great cake and looks like a fun day!

Josh was up til 11:15pm on Friday night! He slept from 6 - 7:30pm, then refused to go to sleep til 11:15pm! We weren't particularly impressed. He was asleep by 8:15pm last night, but then was awake from 5am - 7:30am this morning, but of course when we had to go to church at nearly 10am I had to WAKE HIM! Now, it's 9:15pm and he's still partying in his playpen. I hope he sleeps in tomorrow at least. He seems to refuse to sleep when he has any sort of tummy pain, including a poo that is going to happen within the next 2 hours. So frustrating when that time is the middle of the night, or when he's already been up for 3 hours ...

tabby i think the local cafe sounds good. I think small businesses understand the baby thing a bit more. anyway, sounds like you will get something easily. shame about the childcare-house thing. I think you sound perfect as a day carer!

well i was going to do a big post while i feed clea to sleep for her nap, but she feel asleep realy quickly! so i am off to lay down. Clea seems to have a reaction to cows milk and she gets really snotty and uncomfortable for a few days. almost like a cold. and because of all the phlegm she sometimes vomits what little she eats. so we have had 2 bad nights, lots of breastfeeds. sounds like lots of bubs are having bad sleeps.....

hope the sleep fairy comes round soon to everyone who is has restless bubs:sleeping:

HI everyone

LiviesMum - Great pics.

Well we didnt get any of the houses we applied for :hissy: So back to looking today. Our suspicions about our landlord selling were right. Our house went on the market on Thursday & they are coming over tonight to take photos for the internet & then again on friday to bring the sales team around. So we really have to find something soon. I have a few to look thru but there really isnt anything that great, really dont want to get something i'm not happy with.
Picked up DD1 school books this morning & the rest of her uniform, cant believe she starts next week. We enrolled her in ballet, jazz & tap dancing. So her week is going to be really busy, but i think it will be good for her. She loves dancing. Its jsut gonna make me busier but secretly i'm going to make DH take her to dancing lol.
Sierra is good, bit of a runny nose again. Been trying to upload pics to putfile but its having problems. Will try to upload some later on.

LiviesMum...Great cake! Nice to see you in a photo too, so we can see your expanding girth.
Tired Mummy...better luck with the next house, will :fingerscrossed: that your landlord doesn't sell the property too quickly.
Strawberry...Great to hear that Tarni is behaving herself.
Cordelia...still waiting for that recipe. I've got the chicken out and my boring ingredients ready, but would rather try your recipe.

TJ slept through last night. She's been funny lately. If I give her a bottle of water during the night, she'll hang onto it for dear life. Even if she appears asleep, taking it off her is impossible, LOL.

We did the needle things today. Aside from a quick cry, TJ's been fine. It was DD1 who put on a performance, so much so that I sent her straight to bed when we got home:mad:.

Got to go, TJ finally asleep and now DD1 can't seem to play without me in sight:hair:. Just one of those days.

Glad I did a trial run of josh's cake. I saw a thing on the 'net about frozen buttercream frosting transfers and I thought I'd give it a try. Except my icing didn't crust. I did test it and it seemed to form a crust, but instead of transferring a lovely image of 'joshua' onto the cake I ended up turning the white cake into a multicoloured swirl cake. What a disaster! At least it was just a trial run! I have 5 days to try again!

Sorry if that didn't make much sense.

Josh did better last night only waking once for a bottle.

2 weeks til I return to work! :(

mouse ... yeah for tj sleeping through

tiredmummy ... i hope you find a house soon, well before you have to face a moving out date.

Hi guys, bit quiet here today. Feeling ok- had a mega clean of the floors today after the party saturday- did not have time yesterday with the surprise wedding!!! As it had been raining Saturday people were in and out of tyhe house, (thankgod for tiles!!!) and when I vacumed and mopped I could not believe the dirt coming up- it looked dirty, but not that dirty. Looks great now though.

Mim- Did not know you could get frosting transfers to do yourself- where did you get them from?

Mouse- :smiliedance:yeah TJ, thats so good she is sleeping now.

Tiredmummy- goodluck househunting- hope you get something soon

dragonflyblu- Hope Clea feels better soon for hers and your sake. Bridget got some blocks called 'Heroes" for her bday that were made in Germany- have you heard of them?

Cordelia- :yelclap: for Caitlins standing progress, they feel so clever dont they?

Bridget took 10 steps today before plonking to the floor- that is a record so far, she is letting go more often now, so hopefully soon she will be walking (or not).

Going to mums for dinner so better get organised, chat soon.

liviesmum ... no, not bought ones. It's a technique called frozen buttercream transfer. Basically you draw a design and reverse it. Put it under a piece of clear plastic. Then stick cellophane or transparency on top. Then you do the design on the transparency, allow it to freeze for up to 1 1/2 hours, then you can turn it upside down and put it on your cake. I was just doing josh's name, but I was hoping to do a pooh bear design for his party on saturday.

LiviesMum - great pics. You’re looking great! So glad the birthday party went well.

Well today I ventured out with 4 kids by myself. Surprise surprise I survived . I had to get some school stuff for the girls and had an appointment with Twinkle Toes (Tarni’s hand and feet sculptures). Mouse wasn’t to far from your house was going to give you a ring this morning but I left your number on the fridge. Tarni slept most of the time and Talon was feeding his face with food and the other 2 girls were fighting on which school bag they wanted but otherwise it was a good day out.

Better get going bub is waiting patiently for her feed.

Take care

you should have dropped in, aside from going out for TJ's needles we've been home all day. Always feel free to drop in on a Mon or Tues if you're in the area. I realised earlier today that I don't have your phone number, can you please PM it to me?

Off to work soon for what is hopefully my last 11 hr shift. Yesterday the boss called me in to discuss my leaving, apparently a supervisor rang over the weekend telling him not to let me go as I was a good worker. So have put to him that I will stay if only do 5 x the 5 hr shift, with 2 consecutive days off and one has to be a weekend. Hes going to get back to me Monday after he tries to sort the shifts so I can. fingers crossed he can then I wont need to change jobs as will be home with Katie ALL day!
I can nap when she naps to catch up.

Will have to get back to you all tomorrow ( 4 days off) Katies not settling for Mum and Dad for her arvo nap.

back tomorrow xx

sowwy lisa :( :( I'm sure your apricot chicken was lovely all the same!! My recipe was similar but I used the apricot nectar and tinned apricot, stuck some curry in it too... and then at the end stirred in some sour cream. and i use whole thighs coz they yummy!

would love the 0's if you dont need them anymore!! Maybe get together second week of february for Perth mum's?? I'm happy to have it here but Strawberry, whatever's easiest for you. If that means going to your place. I'm in Canning Vale - about 40 minutes from you.

Hopefully your boss can work something out Tabby! Great that you're in the bargaining position.

Have I mentioned how bad it's been here the last 8 nights? minimum 3 hours screaming per night. DH's has picked up some magic potion!!! They make it at the Amcal chemist in Tuart hill - personally just for you based on bub's weight and birthdate. Apparently it's magic. So I'll let you know how it goes. $20 a bottle!

Better go do some work

cordelia ... are you sure she doesn't have an ear infection? That's what Josh did when his ears were playing up and yet otherwise he seemed fine.

Speaking of which, Josh was awake screaming til nearly 1am. Not much fun. He's got a slight temp today and isn't swallowing his food as well as usual, so I think his ears could be playing up again, or he has a sore throat. He's also sleeping lots today (3 hours this morning!). He seems better with nurofen on board. Hopefully he's 100% for his party this weekend.

Should go cook dinner before he wakes up from his late afternoon nap.

Apricot chicken was nice either way. How much curry do you add? The sour cream would be nice, but TJ can't have it so we'll have to too.
Hope C starts to have better nights soon. I'm with Mim. If it continues, get her ears checked.

Sometime in Feb for a meet sounds good. May be working full time by March:confused:. Don't mind where we have it. I'm happy to go with whatever's easiest for Strawberry.
Tabby...hope they can work the hours out for you.

TJ's had an ok night. No obvious side effects from her needles. Had her weighed today, a huge 10.20kg!

liviesmum havent seen them, but we live in a pretty small town, toy shop is 1 level of the 3 level department store, mostly all the toys are HABA.

cordelia that sounds terrible. maybe would do a quick docs trip just to check it out? although i must admit i hate taking clea to the docs if she may not be sick, so many snotty nosed bubs in he waiting room.

mousebrown funny to hear you say you cant have cream because TJ cant, we make 1 meal to.basically we make a meal clea can eat, no salt, no sugar etc etc.... everyone i know makes 1 kids meal and 1 parents meal.

us dh got his wisdom teeth out yesterday. he has to go back in a month for the other 2. he has needed it for ages, but we couldnt afford it, so now we are using our company medical insurance and getting everything done. i have a chest bronchial infection, yuk! such bad timing with dh's teeth

but clea is good. she has a snotty nose but i am pretty sure its dairy and not a cold. she isnt upset, fevery or anything that indicates sick.

Strawberry- Woohoo:smiliedance: on making it home safe, sound and sane after shopping with 4 kids!!

We are all ok here, Bridget has a slight bruise under her eye from a solo walking attempt. she is trying hard, she really just wants to take off.

DD1 is looking forward to going back to school- she told me she feels like she just needs a break from her holidays- LOL:laughing:

I go back to work next week for 3 weeks before I am on leave- feeling like I want to go back too- but maybe thats because it brings bubs arrival even closer!

Hope you are all well, talk soon:wave:

Hiya girls!!
Gosh have been MIA, but still drop in and read  Was so tired last night preparing for work meeting this morning and the last thing I had to do was add a page full of figures (I know I should have been in excel!) but kept nodding off for a sec and completely forgetting where I was up to, despite making marks next to the figure! DOH. Took three times as long!

But then I get on here and read StrawSHortcake with the four kids shopping! OH MY GOODNESS, that is an achievement :sunshine:

Without a doubt my understanding of what I respect in the world has taken an enormous change in 12months! Putting a baby to sleep is right up there with winning a race :smiliedance: Shopping with one child and a shopping list and remembering just about everything is also HUGE..shopping with more then one child and when one of those is almost a MONTH old!!! woohoo then AMAZING.

Was just a drop in, really to say great to see the lovely Bridget and LiviesMum shots! Wow looking so great+pregnant and what a great cake!

Also thanks KorahBLue for the minutes of mirth about the cream, oh goodness!

Hunter did the silent thing in the car yesterday after I nipped into clients place to pick up something and could hear him :hissy: and then nothing! Cripes, so when I got there he was STANDING in his car seat houdini-ed out and playing with the wheel of his pram leaning over the back seat into the boot. Happy as!!

Also was dropping in to say how impressive the transfer and icing thing sounds Mim1, goodluck with the main event cake. The idea of a practice cake sounds v yummy!! Hope Josh sleeps more regularly for you all soon:wave:

Cordelia also hope Caitlin is getting much happier. Poor bubby and poor family! Teeth?

Think we've got two at once coming through and eccko the worlds yuckiest nappies yesterday and about 4 of them. I don't think its a tummy bug? Tabby I think I remember this was the same for K??

I thought had read all the pages, but maybe I missed one on the new job, though reckon cafe sounds great! And much more flexible and nicer, super people to talk to??. Rugs x 7days might get to the point of wanting to burn them. Sorry if anyone works in rugs! But I find some rug shops depressing. But YAH YAH on the end of the long nights. :flowerz:

The last of this meant to be v short "g'day" was to Dragonflyblu, yeppo we cook the same chicken stew dish as each other, great base. It got some rice and tumeric and squash in it the other day. Also H and I eat the same dinner as each other. Hope your chest infection goes v soon. A lovely elixir of garlic, chilli and lemon?

Oh had this one for a while: EASY and FAST and YUMMY: says makes 4..

Lamb+Couscous 'soup' but its not really, it is really v yummy : oil/onion/garlic add Moroccan seasoning and cook..add1L beef stock reduce/simmer, add 250g lambfillet or backstrap(!) (finely sliced) cook 2mins...

stir through couscous (1/4cup per person), mint and spinach (2cups leaves) cook tiny bit longer, serve immediately to crying baby and selves and can top with greek style natural yoghurt if you have any. Freezes well!

See ya all. off to work now. xx S

No new job as yet charis, boss is trying to work out a set roster that works for me, will know Monday.

Oh there goes my last plane of the night (morning) I just cleaned taking off over head lol.
Tonight went to almost 12 hrs! eek what a long last night shift to have.

Am so glad decided drop work load, I missed Katie standing solo today from a crawl with no assistance furniture etc for the first time, figure wont be long till shes taking steps, she keeps looking and you can see her think about it but then drop to crawl across to things.
No way am missing that first step!!!! :smiliedance:

anyhow tis 330am so better get bed, up at 830ish with the little miss.

Hey everyone, I too have been MIA! Still reading but not having a chance to post.

Charis, lovely to hear from you as always, thanks for the recipe, will definitely give it a go.

Tabby, Yay for last big shift, hope they can accommodate you with shorter days. Hooray for Katie standing unassisted.

Strawberry, such a clever, confident mummy going out all together. Bet it made you feel good!

Tiredmummy, hope you get a lovely house soon.

Liviesmum, great pics, you look fantastic and the cake was adorable. Thanks for reminding me I have to get M a cupcake or something for the actual day!

Mouse, we have the same meals as the boys most of the time. To avoid giving them too much seasoning, hot spices etc, I take out their portion then add the extras for me & DH. Sounds like you have a good system going though! Is TJ allowed coconut milk?

DFB, Hope you feel better and hope DH is coping ok after the extraction.

US, Well I am so excited, I have enrolled in a cake decorating course starting mid Feb. Had been searching for one for a while and turns out this one is 2mins from home on a Wed night. Clashes with DH's Basketball but he knows how important it is to me so he will either stay home or organise his mum to help out.

DS1 has scored a cancellation at Pre School and can now go 2 days a week instead of 1.

And M is being a right, royal pain in the behind waking anytime fro 5 onwards. DH gets up for work then and M has decided it suits him too AArrrgghhhhh!!!

Hi everyone

Sam - Great about the cake course... but you're already so good at decorating cakes. Still dont know how you do it!!

Still houe hunting and now its getting annoying! Dh is back at work this week so i've had to drag all the kids out by myself. I dont mind usually but when you look thru a house i hate having to run after them instead pay attention to what the house looks like & where things are etc. Looked at a houe yesterday which i'm going to apply for today... DH hasnt seen it but they said i could arrange for him to look thru it on Thurs or Friday, and if he hates it which i'm sure he wont then we can withdraw the application. But him being at work makes the whole thing alot harder. Maybe when DD1 starts school mext week it will get abit easier.
We had our first lot of people look thru our house yesterday... the realestate gave me 20 mins notice  So i had to run around like a mad chook to make beds, pick up laundry etc. Luckily the house was quite presentable & i didnt have much to do

Sierra has a bad runny nose now & a cough, so shes not very happy. She is also teething badly & has bad poos too, which are giving her bad nappy rash. Poor thing. Everytime she does something in her nappy i know about it cos she screams until its changed & not burning/stinging her. I have to get her needles done but have to wait now til the cold goes away.

Have a great day all.

Hiya guys, thanks for all your lovely comments on how well I am looking- it is such a boost as your never completely happy with the way you look when preggas!! But in total am 6 kg's lighter but started the pg at the same weight I started with Bridget:confused:

Charis- Good to hear from you- you sound ultra busy now you are back at work. Well done for popping in and posting a long thoughtful post!:yelclap:

Sammy- A cake course- please... you will be able to teach them a thing or too- LOL.

Tabby- when will you hear back from your boss about shorter shifts?:fingerscrossed: he can work something out.

Tiredmummy- goodluck still with the house hunting, I hope this process does not drag on too long.

Well I best get moving and jump in the shower- I am suppose to have coffee today with some girls from work but no confirmed time yet, so need to be ready in case only given 1/2 hour notice- I need atleast an hour to get us all ready!!!

Haven't thought of coconut milk, will check out a tin tonight.
Yah for the cake decorating course. That's one thing I find hard with DH working away. I can't get involved in any weekly/weeknight activities, netball, tennis etc.
Yah for DS1 getting 2 days at Preschool.
Both DD1 and TJ woke/wake at 5am. With DD1 our day would start then, but this time I've learnt. For the past few early wake ups, I go in quietly with a small bottle of milk, lay her down with it, place a couple of dummies nearby and walk out. So far it seems to be working. TJ has a drink and goes back to sleep for at least an hour.

Charis...LOL at H getting out of his carseat. At least he found a way to amuse himself while you were busy:p.
Strawberry...your house for the next meet is good, just suggest a date. If it's a Monday we'll be there a bit late as DD1 has kindy on Mondays (half days for the first few). I'll suggest to the Perthies as it's at your house, you don't have to do any food, we can cover that for you!

Hope the Perthies are ready for another hot week. Some of the other Perthies are meeting for dinner on Sat 2nd if anyone's interested visit the WA/Perth threads.

Have a good day!

Hi guys,
I haven't been on in aaaages, and haven't read all this thread yet, but just saw some happy birthday messages for Madison when I was skimming. Thank you so much, she had a great day and got spoilt rotten. Had a huge 'princess' party which I totally enjoyed planning as I hadn't done a proper 1st party with my other 3 kids. :D

Hope everyone else's 1st birthdays went well, and happy birthday for those that are coming up.:)

I'll just do a quick update on Madi before I go back and read the rest of the thread. Obviously just turned 1 last week, very confident in standing and walking along furniture/toys, but not yet walking by herself...very close though (takes a few steps). Still a little angel, very placid, happy and easy etc. Just added some updated pics in the other thread too.:)

Anyway, hope everyone is well. I'll try and catch up with everything and get back on soon. Take care:)

Been MIA for a few days here as well.

Tired mummy - hope you find a new home soon
Charis - what a feat escaping from teh car seat!

Cameron's high temp of 39.5 last week lasted 3 nights but seemed to improve slightly during the day. Took him to the doc on the 3rd day just for peace of mind even though he seemed mostly fine otherwise. All better just in time for his bday BBQ on Sunday which was an enjoyable afternoon. Even had a few fellow Townsville bubhubbers who we meet up with regularly turn up.

We did needles on Monday and no obvious reactions. I have just been a bit down since because they made a big deal of his low weight (still only 8.2kg) and even though they were nice enough about it basically said to cut down the breastfeedingt o help improve his appetite for solids. Didn't go so far as to call it 'toxic' but just that it's no good if it's taking the place of solids. But I really don't think his appetite the problem. He's just always been a skinny thing and has just become very stubborn about eating ANYTHING. Trying really hard to get him to eat without making it a big battle but so hard. And then 2 nights this week he's choked right after dinner and brought it all back up. Depressing. All that effort and still an empty tum and then I'm up all night feeding as a result because he's hungry.

Sorry for the whinge. I know he's happy and otherwise healthy but hard not to let the nurse and docs words worry me and ever since I keep noticing his skinny little tummy :(

tired*mummy
24-01-2008, 07:57 AM
Cat - :hugs: Try not to worry about what the nurse & dr says. They always have a habit of making you feel bad or make you worry for no reason. Sierra is only 8.4kg & shes fine & she eats quite well but still isnt putting on good weight. Try not to worry about it... i'm sure if there was any big problems Cameron would let you know & you would know anyway. Maybe try to feed him a few mouthfuls every couple of hours instead of bigger meals... just a suggestion. Then you might not get the battles... DD1 was very stubborn when it came to eating solids too & she was also a small weight at 1. Hope he's feeling better soon too.

Cat, fussy eaters are terribly frustrating. I found that if DS1 was engrossed in something - usually his fave DVD unfortunately, he would eat no problems. I did get stuck in the milk rut because he was so painful. I have only recently bit the bullet and removed milk after lunch and I now water down his drink after breakfast. His appetite has increased dramatically but he will still ask for milk if he is hungry cos it's a quick fix.

We had a nightmare night with Michael, asleep at 6:45pm - he only had 1.5hrs total throughout the day after waking at 5am. He then was awake at midnight and I was up so many times I lost count, that's even after he had 200mls. Of course DS1 had to get up at 3:30am for a loo break just as I was well and truly asleep. M stirred when DH got up just after 5 but I managed to resettle and he slept till 6:45.

Better day so far today, M just had a good 2hr nap! Hope the day continues to be a good one!

Cordelia
24-01-2008, 10:18 AM
Cat - I hear you girl! Exactly the same here. Some babies are different and don't want to guzzle everything in sight. I've found that it helps to relax with Caitlin and follow her lead. I kept a food diary for a week and was amazed at how much she actually ate. She grazes during the day, will always have a bit of what I'm eating, likes HUGE variation. May only have a mouthful of dinner but then have a whole apricot 30 minutes later. YOu just have to go with the flow.

Some health professionals are really hung up about weight. The world is full of all different shapes and sizes. A few "pros" have pulled me up about Caitlin's weight. She's 8.5kgs at 13 months. All they do is make you stressed and worried. Other [much more knowledgeable and experienced] nurses etc. know that there is more to weight and YOU know if your baby is healthy.

We decided to go to the AFter Hours GP last night re: Caitlin's hours of screaming per night. He reckoned it was just teething but that one of her ears was slightly red so he gave us some drops in case. BY THE WAY!!! We got this special teething elixir which is paracetamol and antihistemines that this chemist makes up. You have to have a 10 minute interview to get it. Well thsi STUPID GP was trying to tell us to give it to her once every 30 minutes etc etc... He was mixing it up with Brauers even after we insisted that this was NOT what he was talking about. Can you imagine giving her this concoction 5 times a night - we would have overdosed her. What an idiot.... i'm tempted to ring up the chemist and get them to take action because if we didn't know any better we could have had a very traumatic event. If it was another parent who hadn't educated themselves and researched....

Thanks tiredmummy, Sammy & Cordelia. I know you are right tiredmummy and I shoudln't worry. Especially since it's not when they look at him that they comment on his weight, only when they plug it into the computer to plot on the stupid chart. Which I know is just a stupid chart so why does it still make me feel bad?!

Unfortunately Sammy I have also resorted to sneaking in spoonfulls while he's watching telly or busy playing. Trying to decide whether it's more important that he eats vs not learning bad eating habits. Hope you get a better sleep tonight, ours have not been the best either.

Cameron sounds a lot like Caitlin Cordelia. He'll actually eat a wide variety of foods. He just won't eat more than a mouthful or 2 at a time and loves to fill up on water. Hope the chemists elixer does the trick for you. What a silly Dr, they just don't listen sometimes. Just shows you have to be vigilent and not believe every single thing they say.

Today is looking up so far, C ate tablespoon of cereal and a finger of toast for brekky which is good for us. Decided that if he has any feeds during the night he doesn't get his morning wake-up milk.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Cordelia- what an idiot gp hey? I would do something too.

Cat- Cameron looks fine in your avatar. Bridget is not a big eater either- she stops when she has had enough- always has, is not one to make a guts of herself- not saying other kids do- but some kids will eat whats on offer when on offer, self control is not bad- man I wish I had a bit!!!- LOL Bridget is 9 kg, which is not huge, but i know she is healthy.

It is our 4 year Wedding Anniversay today- completely slipped my mind til 9:30 this morn when dh reminded me as he was on his way to work!! Should have remembered as it is actually my birthday tomorrow!! Aaarrghh- my last year in my 20's, but trying to forget about that too!

Bridgets little bump under the eye has turned into a black eye- so embarressing. Had coffee with some friends yesterday and I was like' I didn't beat her... honestly!"- lol Poor little tyke- learning to walk is difficult.

Anyways better scoot, talk later.

happybirthday for tomorrow LiviesMum

Food....Kids will eat when they are hungry. Some weeks when DD1 was little she hardly ate anything, but when she got hungry again whe'd eat non-stop. As long as bub is healthy and looks happy, then there's nothing to worry about. I think DD1 only weighs between 14-15 kg at 4.5 years old. The way TJ's going, she'll overtake her soon. Ignore the growth/weight charts and enjoy the fact you've got a healthy bub.
Sammy...must have been the night for wakefullness. TJ had a bad night last night too. Don't know what her problem is, teeth (still only have two bottom teeth) or the fact that she's started walking? Who knows.

TJ took 9 very balanced steps last night. She's also added another couple of words to her vocab: Baby and Daisy (her dolls name).

The proverbial hit the fan at work yesterday. So things are all over the place and what was going to be an easy decision to work elsewhere is now a bit muddy. next week will be decision time...

have a great day!

Cordelia, I agree very bad Dr.

My whinge!
At Woolies the other night I dropped a jar of baby food and it broke. I picked up all the big bits of glass, wasn't particularly messy but there were little pieces of glass. I told an assistant, pointed to the spot and we continued shopping. 4 aisles later and having queued behind other trolleys I wound up back in front of the same baby aisle. 15 minutes had to have passed and nothing had been done! I told the same assistant again and she called for someone again. A young guy came by, looked confused so I pointed out the area to him, he proceeded to scuff the area with his shoe! He did eventually get a dry mop but he lazily swished it around. Kids fall over all the time - I was disgusted!

Sorry for rant, hope everyone's having a good day!

Happy Anniversary Liviesmum! :flowerz:

Cat- Lots of :hugs::hugs: to you hun. I wouldn’t worry about what the doctors and nurses are saying. He may not eat much but he’s healthy and that’s all that matters. My DSD is 6 1/2 yrs old and she only weighs 17kg.

Liviesmum – Happy Wedding Anniversary to you and DH.

Perthies – Just checked the calendar and the 12 February looks good for our next meet. Hope that suits everyone. Looking forward to catching up with you all. Will pm you my details very soon.

Us – Everything is going great. T took 9 steps last night and again this arvo, Tarni slept really well last night. Went down at 10 didn’t wake till 3, and then didn’t wake again till 8. Very good indeed. DS is very quiet better go and see what he’s into…

cat13 baffling isnt it when they say to stop bfing when the baby MAY be underweight. surely you should bfed more???? It makes me so mad. its such a stupid theory that if you bfed less bubs will eat more solids. Clea has days when she bfeds all day and eats heaps of solids. and then days like yesterday when all she had was one booby feed, and lots of water/camomile tea and hardly any solids. surely if she has one bfed she should eat solids on that day right??? dont worry about it. he will eat more soon. Clea grazes all day. i have gven up on meals and just keep offering her fruit, cheese, yoghurt, bread all day. she still sits down to have meals but she may or may not eat.

liviesmum ahh first black eye, isnt it awful!

cordelia hope the teeth are feeling better. We have been so lucky so far. a few bad nights, but not a huge deal yet. i dread the molars though.

happybirthday to Thomas, hope yous have a lovely day Acacia xx

Strawberry, any day "should" be okay for me too, really depends what happens with my shifts and if new job etc( if he cant work things out for me ), also how tired I am that day because if shift change I will have been up since 2am so all depends on how much sleep I had before work as 2 hrs after I get home will have to head to the meet so no time for a quick mummy nap.

Cordelia: Argh its so shocking now how gp's are! If you dont go in armed with knowledge your self first goodness knows!
Hope the teeth settle soon, we have teething here now again too, I knew it once had the burning poo yesterday, confirmed last night with three wakes which is very unusual for her unless unwell or teething.
Thank goodness I dont head back to work till Sunday 2am.

Sammy: Thats shocking of the supermarket, I would have rang when home to complain actually.

Mouse: YAY for the 9 steps for TJ!! and her new words, well done TJ!

Katie's awake so better end this, We went for our first swim yesterday, Katie LOVED it of course! She loves her water, she splashed and squealed at all the other kiddies, smiling and laughing, was so much fun we took her again last night, DF came and he played with her while I swam laps.( need to lose and tone for the wedding! ) hehe pooped her out as she was straight to bed when home she was so tired lol.

Shopping today and clean house, have been rather lazy this last 2 days off, then again always takes me that long recover from the long shift and it was a doozy of 12 hrs the last one.
anyhow was the last one so thats okay.

I think AF is on its way :( Should know by tomorrow anyway.

hope everyones well and sorry if missed posts to reply, I did read them all though xxx :hugs:

Just got home from the Dr. All is well with me. Bub is really low- head is almost engaged- this early (34 weeks). So I do wonder about the location of that placenta????? Scan is next Friday so that will tell me more. Bridget had her needles, it was ever so traumatic! Poor little bugger- I really feel for her.

Better scoot, going for coffee and cake with ma and pa soon, and I need to claim money back from medicare before the long w/e!

Hey Ladies

Just me popping in again to say  ... Billy isn't walking yet I think he is way too fat  Little Porker

Got a few big decisions to make in regards to a job offer in regional SA with guarenteed position in Adelaide after 3 years...not sure what to do. Lots going on at the moment and will try to broch the subject with x DP, should be interesting..

My weight loss is going great - 21 kilos in 12 weeks I have NEVER been this thin before. Actually it is over 40 kilos since I had Billy :smiliedance:

Anyhoo - lots of love and cuddles to our bubs :flowerz:

40 kilos!!! That's amazing!! What's your secret Karrina? I know you must be working hard with your 2... I think you said this before.

I've been on a diet for a month and been going to curves and PUT ON WEIGHT. Sooooo depressing. I feel fitter and more healthier but mannnn..... i could tear my hair out.

Happy Birthday liviesmum :) oooo it's getting close!!! Glad you're well - hope Bridget goes ok

Mmm just got back from swimming here too - was so busy.. not too keen about bigger kids running through the baby pools.. .Caitlin went under about 3/4 times.... grrr. At least she's sleeping well this arvo.

Speaking of which I think i'll go have 40 winks myself!!!

Liviesmum...Hope you enjoyed your coffeee and cake. Good to hear that all is well with bump.
Karrina...congrats on the weight loss. And good luck on making that decision about work. Sod the X and do what you want.

TJ had her eye appointment today. All is good. Can't find the piece of paper at the moment that 'names' what she's got, but its a long name to described that fact that from the centre of her nose (across the bridge) to each eye is not even. So her eyes are even it's just the skin around them that is not. As she grows and her nose and the skin around it changes, it will disappear. Now just have to wait for the bill to see how much this information has cost me. I wondered why the GP didn't know about this when I spoke with her.

More steps today, getting rather game, though not game enough to head out across the room yet.

Missed a chance to see Bon Jovi tonight, couldn't find a babysitter:crying:.

Hope everyone has a great Australia day tomorrow:wave:. A hottie in Perth, so we'll probably not venture out. Maybe head to Hillary's on Sunday morning for a swim.

DD1 asked what Australia Day was, I explained it was a Australia party. So she asked if we could have an 'Australia Party' tomorrow, luckily I've got some cheezles and lollies left over from TJ's party or I think she'd be disappointed in her first 'known' Australia Day:laughing:.

happybirthday thomas & liviesmum for yesterday.

Is it Reece's birthday today? Hels little boy? happybirthday Reece if it is :)

cat ... I saw sneek whatever food in you can, when you can. I don't think it really matters too much at the moment. My niece is a small eater and so I understand a bit of your anxiety - my SIL finds it hard.

tabby ... has AF arrived? Are you recovering from your long shifts? You haven't mentioned Katie's vocabulary recently, how many words does she say now? I think Josh is up to about 10, much to my surprise.

mouse ... that's good about her eyes and the first few steps!

karrina ... great to hear from you. 40kg is amazing! Well done, especially with everything else you've been going through AND being in such a hot place! Wow! Josh isn't walking either.

dragonflyblu .. it's funny how you say you dread the molars. Josh's first one came through and I thought i was an eye tooth til it was fully through. He was just waking at night for 3 - 4 nights and then it was through. Not that bad really.

Us ... it's Josh's birthday party day today. The day we're also giving him his presents from us. I have plenty now, in comparison to on his real birthday. I even finished his 1st year scrapbook during the week - I had a photo and some writing for each of the 52 weeks. I'm so happy that it's done. I tried the cake frosting transfer technique yesterday, this time following the recipe to the letter and it worked! So, I'll be doing some pooh bear design this morning.

Josh's 2nd molar is through the gum and the 3rd is probably not far away. He had 7 front teeth and #8 is finally putting in an appearance, probably 2 months after the rest of them came through. Its funny how one tooth can come so much later than the others.

It's nearly 7am and he's actually been asleep since 9:30pm last night and he didn't need any resettling at all overnight! :smiliedance: He slept from 9:30pm til 5:30am a few nights ago and I thought that was great. But the last 2 nights he's been awake for 2 hours straight in the middle of the night. I think it was tooth pain. I must say that he seems to be sleeping a lot better now that I've stopped breastfeeding. I think my supply had been dropping a lot for the last 3 weeks of feeding and he was quite hungry. Breastfeeding is certainly easier and cheaper though - I'm still adjusting the hassle of bottle washing, and formula making, especially at 2am with a grumpy and heavy baby on my hip. I'm going to ask the paed how long he needs formula at josh's next appt in 2 weeks.

Sorry for the long post.

I think josh is waking up ... should go. I have SO much to do to prepare for this party. I wish we'd invited 100 people instead of 15, we've got to do so much work regardless of numbers!

Mim - Hope Josh has a nice party today!

Karrina - fantastic about your weightloss!! 40kg is just amazing.

happybirthday for Thomas yeterday & Reece today!

Us - All the girls have runny noses now & i have a sore throart :hissy: But i dont think its anything bad. Hopefully DD1 will get back to normal this weekend so shes not sick for school... OMG only 4 more sleeps lol.
I'm starting to get annoyed with my realestate agents bring people thru the house. I have had them here everyday this week, twice yesterday & will be twice again today. At this rate i think the house will sell really quickly. The other house we applied for we didnt get either... they had already leased it before i put in the application  I dont know how though cos i looked thru the property at 5:30pm one night & then put in the application at 10am the next morning, so they must have had applications in the before the inspection. We looked at another house last night but it was far too small. Not much else available at the moment so :fingerscrossed: so more house come available soon.
Sierra has been pretty good, bit of a grumpy bum but think that has to do with teeth. She has become a climber too... very cheeky bubba. She climbs up onto the girls barbie chairs & then onto the table.
Here is a couple of pics of it... naughty bubba lol.

Mouse- :smiliedance: for TJ taking more steps. Mouse you should have rung me I would of happily looked after your adorable girls for you. I hope DD1 enjoys her first 'known' Australia Day today lol

Tiredmummy – I hope you find a house real soon. It must be sooo frustrating for you. Sierra loves very cheeky on that table. What a cutie.

Mim – I hope Josh has a great party today. I can’t wait to see the end result of Josh’s cake. Please show us a pic won’t you. Never heard of that kinda technique used before.

Us - Omg Talon is walking as I’m typing. He went from the lounge chair to the entertainment unit. Have to get someone out to look at our fridge its not getting cold. Not happy Jan as the fridge is only 2 years old and cost us $1500 at the time, just hoping it’s nothing major. One more week of holidays till girls go back to school. They can't wait and nor can i hehe.

Better go I got some washing to do before Tarni wakes up.

Happy Australia Day to all

Hope everyone is having a great Australia Day!

Michael is still having shocking nights! No fever or anything, maybe teeth or growth spurt. After 20mins of screaming between patting sessions I have been offering milk and he has been taking 200mls in one go! This is the boy that is not too fussed about his bottle!

My news! I have been offered a part-time job at my local scrapbooking store. 3hr shifts, alternate tues nights and Thurs mornings. DH can take care of the boys on the night shift and Mum will come down and babysit on the Thurs mornings. The little extra money will be handy and it's a change from jewellery. Together with my cake orders and cake decorating course I will be a bit busier than I have been. It's looking like a good year!

Mim, 52 layouts is a HUGE achievement! Can't wait to see the cake transfer!

Tiredmummy, hope there aren't too many people to view the house at short notice. Gorgeous pics of Sierra!

Strawberry & Mouse, Wow for Talon & TJ walking!

Liviesmum, do you think bubs will come early, any feelings?

Karrina, WOW!!!!! Michael isn't walking yet either, he's a big chicken and won't let go!

Well I'd better be off to bed in case it's another shocker!

Mim: Thanks for asking. No AF as yet still sore-ish boobs but not the usual tenderness before AF, it feels different, time will tell, Ill try a test next week if no AF as am unsure of dates for O or af as work load made me forget even ttc,I think it should be due now or over due.. they do say when you forget you fall...so :fingerscrossed:.
oh and have a very unusual back ache the last 2 days...
Also Katie's vocabulary has now got kitty and bath and nini in it, oh and gar for garden ( when I say lets go water the garden), plus lots of others shes yet to say more clearly but says often and at certain things. Mum said she was sure she said "I see" when playing peekaboo other day. oh and shes trying say grandad but comes out as danddad sort of thing lol
Yes finally recovered! Took me till yesterday, 3rd day off to feel semi normal again, am off to work this morning 330am for my first am shift back at work the nice 4.5 hr shift
The sleeps sound heaps better for yous, glad to hear it! I know it took a few here and there when Katie first did the sleep throughs, a few here and there and it just gets more and more till eventually ALL are. :fingerscrossed: your heading there too.
Hope the party went well and cant wait to see pics!

tiredmummy: heh great pics, DF was watching and said " oh gawd we have that to look forward too" in regards the on the table pics HAHHA

Strawberry: YAY for Talon, sounds like hes off and away now.

Sammy: awesome on the job offer! Sounds like fun too. All the best for a better night ( and more) tonight xx

Us: Back to work tonight ( really tomorrow cos 330am) Am finally feeling human again lol
The new shifts will make a huge difference so wont feel like previous again.
We got a new addition to the house hold today, a little black kitten, he took all of 10 minutes to adjust and promptly made him self at home, playing , eating , running around then jumping up on the couch to where he is now, napping! talk about lord of the house already lol
Katies not too sure of him, she was wiggling her toes and he pounced on them and she cried so not sure what this fluffy thing is that does that now lol.

Well, almost bed time, hope everyone had a good Aus day!

Hi there how are you all? Hope you had a great Australia Day!!

Mine not so hot! I went down to Sydney with the girls and Mum and Dad and we went into Darling Harbor with Aunty, Uncle and Cousin- It was just so packed- COuld hardly move. I had really strong Bh all day but think that was because of the walking. Then the wheels of my pram busted open and the wheels were leaking green ooze (the stuff we had put in the tyres to prevent punctures!!!) I was leaving a green trail everywhere! So with both back tyres down the pram was really difficult to move around and of course people without prams expect that people with prams will move out of their way!!!!!!!!:hair: I was just so relieved to get back to my Aunty's place. I was so exhuasted by the end of my ordeal!

Goodluck when I have another one hey???

Tiredmummy- great pics of Sierra- Bridget is climbing all over things too- She is climbing before walking- though not far off.

Sammy- :yelclap: Congrats on the job- you will enjoy going to work- I cant wait to go back on Tuesday- feel like I need the break!lol. Bub coming early- dont know- wishful thinking I suppose. I always thought I was due around 23-24th feb so lets see.

Tabby- :fingerscrossed: on the a/f staying away front. Hope your 3:30am start was not too much for you.

Strawberry- Yay for Talons walking achievements- think Bridget is at the same level- but when do we classify it as walking? I dont know when to fill that section out in the baby book.

Bridget is getting braver- she will stand in the middle of the room and walk til she falls over or will walk short distances- but is crawling from a-b most of the time. Not long I guess til I will be chasing her.

Better go I guess- happybirthday to Reece for yesterday.

Sammy – Congrats on the job offer. Sounds like fun.

Liviesmum – You’ll know when bub will come. I had really bad back pain, heaps of cm (sorry if tmi) really bad pains down below and not to mention regular Braxton hicks 2 weeks before bub arrived oh and i was flat out walking . As for Talon walking, I’ve notice T is walking more frequently now. When he falls down he'll get back up and try again but some times he’ll just crawl to where he wants to go.

Talon woke up at 6ish this morning. I went in there to get him out and noticed he had taken his nappy off:confused:. Cheeky little bugger lol. Just enrolled T into swimming lessons aswell. I reckon he’ll enjoy it as he loves water. Better go T’s getting cranky so time for a nap and Tarni is due for a feed.

Happy Australia Day for yesterday (and for tomorrow :D ). Hope you all had fun - sounds like most of you did! I've just reconnected by comptuer after having to put it away yesterday morning for the party.

The party went well. Josh was an angel, quite tired and reserved most of the time, that is until I put the bubble machine on and that's when he went nuts. I saw the bubble machine at socrates for $35 the other day and I decided to get it. It was a BIG hit! Josh was standing up and pouncing on the bubbles and giggling and smiling and so were his cousins.

Josh started clapping yesterday morning! :yelclap: He's so cute when he does it - which is very often now that he knows what to do.

Josh got some lovely presents, including a car that he can sit on and drive around. But, he found another use for it today. He pushed it up against the playpen, stood on the seat and nearly climbed out of the playpen. So, it was bye bye car from inside the playpen!

tabby ... so you're doing the shorter shifts from tomorrow? Let us know how it goes with testing/AF. :hugs:

liviesmum ... sounds like a challenging time with your pram! Hope you got a rest today.

tiredmummy ... I hope you find a good house soon.

sammy ... congrats on getting the job at the scrapbook store. My Wednesdays with Joshua album (the weekly album) isn't that impressive ... it's done digitally and printed, just a photo with the week # on it, and a 'photo' which is just 2 coloured background (to match the photo) and some text about the week. So, the focus of the album is the photo and the journalling. It's not pretty, complicated or even very creative, but for me journalling and photos have become more important and I've had to let my creative side be put on hold so I can complete pages.

Better go do stuff! Have a great night and australia day holiday tomorrow!

Just a quick catch up while Cameron naps and DH snoozes on the lounge.

Mim - glad Josh enjoyed his bday celebration. The bubble machine sounds like a great idea!

Liviesmum - hope you've recovered from your exhausting Australia day. We didn't do much. Made a late brief appearance at a BBQ hosted by DHs boss. Late because DH's planned 5min repair job on the toilet became an all day job. I seriously thought he was going to throw the cistern out the window at one point!

Sammy - sounds like a fun job although hard not to spend wages on all the tempting scrapbooking goodies!

Stawberry - I take it that it was a clean nappy Talon removed or there would have been more to the story. Cheeky boy.

Tabby - Cameron loves our 2 cats although they mostly just tolerate him. I'm sure a kitten would put him in his place though with those needle sharp teeth and claws!

Ever since my last posts despairing about C's eating he seems to have improved overnight. Looks like his 4th tooth could have been the culprit. Not a big eater by any means but is interested in food again and I am just taking every opportunity to offer him tidbits. Lunch today was me handing him food off a plate while he explored the kitchen. Sadly sleep has not improved. Lately seems to be waking every 3 hours at around 11pm, 2am and 5am and all that will settle him is a quick feed. Not that I've perservered too much with other options, lazy me just takes the route that will get me back to my own bed the quickest. :o Possibly milestone related (pulling up/standing) or too much sleep during the day. Or maybe just hungry and catching up now that his tooth is through.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the long weekend and lots of luck to tiredmummy for getting accepted for a house soon.

cat ... I don't want to open a can of worms. But, how long are you planning on breast feeding? Despite the hassles of bottle feeding, since Josh was weaned nearly 2 weeks ago he's slept a lot better. It isn't a complete fix for his sleep issues, but it has definitely helped and being able to get dh to give the bottle and being able to give him to mum for a sleep over (even just in theory) is also a relief. BUT, I did stop breast feeding mostly because i'm going back to work in a week ...

I hope I didn't offend.

cat13 we go though bad sleeps and crankiness everytime a new milestone is looming. i am sure it will pass soon. BTW we still BF and Clea now sleeps from 8-9pm until 3.3 - 4am and then a quick feed and back to sleep until 7am. I agree with you that it is the easiest way to settle on those restless nights, dont worry i am sure sleep will improve soon.

liviesmum your day sounds awful but i couldnt help having a chuckle at the image of you leaving a green ooze trail. Lucky it was green, at least it was in theme.

strawberry we do swimming lesson to. Clea loves going, it is really fun.

tiredmummy you poor thing with the RE agent. I hate people coming through the house all the time.

us Clea is finally starting to experiment with speech. she hasnt really said anything but mama and dada but she is babbling now, and pokes her tongue out and does a blablablabla thing. also today she learnt how to say 'wow'. i am trying to teach her sounds like wa, ha, la, li, te, ta, etc. etc. i fugure she can make words later but maybe this way it will build her confidence (?). speech development is so exciting.

Clea has also been really naughty lately. she is pushing her limits all the time. i say "no" and she understands and then looks at me with a cheeky look and goes straight back to where she shouldn't be. she is not allowed into a kitchen drawer and she puts her hand on the handle and looks at me, she doesn't open it until i say "no". then if i remove her from the kitchen she complains, its like she is telling me all the reasons why she should be allowed into the drawer! It is cute, and tiring for both of us and all part of learning i suppose...

Just wondering, what language will you be teaching to Clea? Is it possible to teach more than one at a time or do you start with one and introduce another later???
