As the title says - or does it fall into the same listeria risk as pate? I know that I shouldn't eat a LOT of it if I do eat it as liver has a fairly high level of vitamin A, but if its not a listeria risk, I'm craving it - so I wouldn't have thought a little would hurt...
Please help! :D

I used to eat alot of high risk foods- when I craved somthing, I just ate it:laughing: gawd dont get in my way when I couldnt get a craving fix!! LOL
I think the main thing is to make sure you follow all food safety practices, and it should be fine;) and make sure the place you got it from has high standards of food hygeine and safety.
And of course, not too much of it.
(im glad I never craved liver when pregnant though.. :barf:)

I'm going to be the mean, big bad wolf!!
I am pretty sure that I just read recently that liverwurst is a :no: during pregnancy. I took particular notice of it, because my friend loves it, and is unable to have it at the moment.
If unsure, I always say

Hi Tam
I'm pretty sure that with high levels of Vitamin A pate is a forbidden food,
although it would depend on what offal the pate is made from.

I ate stuff that you arent suppost to eat. I figure if its COOKED then it cant hurt you.
:) As the others said....heat it up and then it should be fine. :)

EWWW liverwwurst :barf:
I LOVE liverwurst!
On toast for brekkie! :yelclap:
I've missed it something terrible!
I have indulged once or twice. I buy the small tube of latvian liverwurst from the supermarket, and take about a month to eat it (I freeze slices after I open the pack) That takes care of the cravings without overloading on the Vit A!
