Public Health maternity costs

Was reading another thread and they were talking about paying hundreds of dollars for their epidurals????? If your a public patient in a public hospital, there are no fees when it comes to having a baby are there???? I always just assumed it was free, if it costs hundreds of out of pocket to go private, even after paying fees - why would u go that way?????

If you go public...everything is FREE:smiliedance:

Some women/couples decide to go private due to complications (if their having twins or a difficult birth, if they are older or have health problems etc) also some people prefer to have their own doctor etc

I went public and had a wonderful experience:thumbsup:

cool - had a panic there for a second - thought there was a bill I didn't know about!!!!
