Is anyone else wanting to kill their partners/ husbands? I do i swear you would think he is the one who is pregnant.... he has more mood swings then a lady with pms :banghead: I asked today when were going to talk because we need to talk about something that's quite important and because i asked him when he was just about to leave he was like what do you want me to talk about it now when i'm late for work and stormed out.... i swear :hair: he is doing my head in!

Gosh, I thought I was the only one that had a high maintenance DH! He stresses me out so bad that sometimes I really think life would be a little easier if all I had to worry about was the boys. LOL He seems to get this way whenever I am pregnant, you think he would relax a bit since its our 3rd child. Before we start to concieve I always say to him "now youre not going to stress me out this pregnancy are you" to which he replies na, of course not love. Yeah right. Plus our 13 month old is going through an awful stage at the moment very frustrated because he is not walking yet, just wingeing all day. This does DH head in, seems to think it is my job to keep him quiet!!:banghead: Says comments like "All I expect is a peaceful home life, I dont expect you to go out and work, is this too much to ask!!" Does anyone else experience comments like these....
Hi all.

We just got back and I am exhausted!

I think Melissa passed on my message if not I will give you a quick summary.

Basically at my gyno appt, bubs was just fine, however my cervix is not in such gr8 condition. Just from the procedure he guessed it wasn't cancer but definitely progressing through the stages to cancer and until he gets the biopsy results back will not know for sure but guesses it is probably a CIN II or CIN III. I am hoping it is at CIN II stage, but either way he wants to operate on me as soon as bubs is born. So I guess that is the best result I could have asked for really considering I knew I had issues down there. Just wish this wasn't all happening when I was pregnant really. But as long as it is def not cancer now which it seems it is not - I am happy for now.

On a bright note I got a bargain while I was away. Firstly Wade brought me an $800 bracelet that I did not like (for xmas). Made me feel better when the lady said to me that oh no that sort of bracelt is normally for 50 year olds! Phew!!! Anyway I picked out another bracelet that was reduced from $1199 to $834 (which they told me was 30% off). It looked more expensive so I said I will have it. Anway when they tried to put it thru the register it would not go through at the $834 price and the reason being was because the original price was $2000, not $1199 and their computer system would not let them go any more then 50% off. So the best price they could do was $999. So I paid the extra unfortuantely but they are giving me a valuation certificate for $2000 and it def looks that expensive, so really I got an absolute bargain......

Hi Sheree, wow thats a great bargain!! How did DH respond to you not liking the first bracelet??
Great to hear bubs is ok, hope you get good biopsy results back, sounds like your gyno is confident...

hi all

well a half decent sleep has done the world of good, my lil boy only woke up once last night and then was up at 5 which sucked but would rather be up early after a decent rest than up and down all night over a longer period. Didnt get that sleep yesterday morning though because as soon as I put my head down he woke up. Took him to the doctor yesterday and he has a slight ear infection in his right ear so that explains it, but seems to be much better after only 3 doses of his new meds. But it is rainy today and is the perfect weather to curl up under a doona and watch movies so my daughter and I might just do that!!

Welcome back kangaskippy.
Thanks for your well wishes on getting better Beth.
TSP glad you are feeling so good, congrats on 12 weeks!!! yay for you
Sheree thinking of you you poor thing, fingers crossed all goes well and nothing advances during your pregnancy.

Well got dressed this morning and definitely a bump there now, even if only I can see it! So took forever to decide on what to wear because all normal clothes now put too much pressure on my tum tum when sitting down yet all preggie clothes are massive....so frustrating, would love to have loads of money and go and buy some new clothes, but then it wont take long to fill out my preggie clothes, then bub will be born and I wont fit into the inbetween clothes, so in the meantime when me clothes get too small I might just bum around in my hubbies when I am just at home hehehehe
Alrightie glad to chat to you all, have a great day

sarah sorry to hear that your hubby is doing your head in and you too 1sttimemum2be. That would totally suck and I dont know what I would do! Very frustrating. Why is it only when you are pregnant though? My hubby tends to be the opposite, he gets very lovey lovey and it can drive me nuts, he thinks it is funny to see my reaction but after still breastfeeding our son all day and my cuddly girl which I love, dont get me wrong, a snuggle would be lovely not mister smoochy smooch...hehe sometimes I just need to be simply me not feel as though everyone has to have a piece of me but I know that this is pregnancy as I feel like this or get rubbed the wrong way much easier when I am pregnant.
But feeling you guys must suck definitely to have hubby be more on the frosty side, hope that they warm up a little...just not too much...hehehe

Well I have liked everything he has normally bought me, so I thought it was better to be honest, esp when that sort of money is being spent. He was ok actually and really likes my new bracelet.

Hi Ladies,

Haven't had much to say of late, but have been reading the posts and keeping tabs on everyone!

Did we have any luck finding out where Lehma06 got to? Bit of a worry, hope she's OK.

Sheree - so good to hear you are coping well, I will keep my fingers crossed for you that all is well. :)

Juzzy - how are you going? Did you manage to get any answers? I am thinking of you. :hugs:

All is well here, other than some mild "wooziness" from the low blood pressure I seem to be fine!

Take care all! :D

shadek - hope your bed rest isn't for too much longer, but you are right it is very worth it. Happened to me with lachlan and anyone could have sworn I would have lost him at the time.

m2b - glad to hear you are doing ok.

I had a midwife appt 2day. Was so anxious to hear the heartbeat and she said she was not game to use her doppler prior to 20 weeks as hers is not as good as the doctors and she never wants to send ladies into panic mode if she cannot find it. So that was dissapointing, right when I am feeling anxious again. I feel like such a worry wort at times it is ridiculous. 2 more weeks and I get my scan, wonder if I will do my head in, in that time.

My blood pressure is lower then it would normally be at 102/74. My blood pressure normally sits at 120/80, but she explained it is normally lower during pregnancy and that level was fine for pregnancy. Hopefully I won't get high blood pressure this time round. I was borderline high with Lachlan at 140/90, so looks promissing so far as I don't think my blood pressure was ever this low with Lachlan as it always sat on 130/80 or above.

Also I have large keytones in my urine - suggesting a urinary tract infection, which I have had a bit of stinging sensation for quite a while now. So lots of water for me. 2L a day infact and cranberry juice or a tablet. Small price to pay I guess.

Hey guys

sorry I've not been around, went home for three weeks. sounds like so much has happened!

I've learned a valuable lesson though! don't go on long haul flights when you're preggers  not because its unsafe but if you go far (ie Ireland) its probably cold, you'll get the flu, be delayed in heathrow for 12 hours, sprayed with pesticides by the airline, have motion sickness and puke the entire flight home and faint during take off

it was like an endurance test! took a total of 50 hours to get back. that said it was so worth it to tell the folks in person, some very happy parentals.

just had a scan yesterday and everything is fine baby looks great, still full of a cold and have a slight chest infection so i'm off work. its truly miserable - gone through 6 toilet rolls in 2 days and my nose looks like its been in a clash with a cheese grater :)

Hope you guys are all ok

Got to hear bubs heartbeat yesterday it was a nice thing to hear

Oh I can't wait to hear that magical sound!

Sorry I have been away for a few weeks so haven't had a chance to catch up yet...

Well, I can feel bubba moving around and am thrilled...I wasn't sure the other day, but tonight it's crazy bubbles in my tummy...2 weeks earlier than I felt with my last pregnancy... makes it even more real!! (if the m/s hasn't convinced me of it already...hahaaha, gotta love the porclein bowl...maybe I should call this baby "hurly'???):goodvibes:

as for weight gain, so far I am lighter then before I fell pregnant...must be the m/s and only being able to eat soup or light food until dinner time....:-)

Awww I am yet to feel anything, waiting waiting lol

Kira! I was wondering where you got to hun! Hope you had a nice holiday break. Ours was very quiet which was perfect for me LOL!

Ive had my 12 week scan, all is perfect and going well. DH and I felt the first kicks together the other night. Ive been feeling them for a few weeks, but DH can feel them now. Trying to time it so DS can get a feel too.

We definately need to have a catch up too, there's a Gold Coast girls night coming up 2nd Feb in Broadbeach if you would like to join us? About 15 of us hubbers are going!

Sheree: Hopefully that BP comes back up slightly for you. I sympathise, mine is still 88/40. Sick of nearly passing out everytime I stand up!

Welcome back darl. Nice to hear from you. We are well, scan went well and we are very low risk of downs syndrome. Bubs is just doing fine, but I have a high grade abnormality in my cervix. Currently just waiting on results on whether it is CIN II or CIN III. He is pretty confident it is not cancer yet, so there is a plus. Hope you are feeling ok? Oh and also I have a slight UTI, which have been ordered to drink 2L of water a day + cranberry.

Nope  Even after DS took 20 years off my life on Sunday, still didn't bring it up again, just the adrenaline made the baby wriggle heaps that night!

I have a some great news too! I felt the baby kick my hand last night and the lil one just did it again twice sitting here this morning. So exciting!

That is so cool Beth. Can't believe your hubby can feel it already also.

My baby must have turned around as I haven't had any kicks for 5 days now. The wriggles I am not sure of, and the kicks def make me feel more reassured. Please bubba turn around.

Wy & Deeky

We couldn't believe it either. We didn't feel the kicks until around 21-22 weeks with DS. I guess it's because Ive already had a bub. It's down the left side of my tummy this morning, last night it was in the lower middle belly, so bub's is already wriggling nicely. Must have been that ice cream and ice magic topping I had last night PMSL. Im craving that so badly

I know I'm a little late in joining, but I wanted to hit the 12 week mark before even talking about been pregnant. I got pregnant the first month we tried, and expected it to take a lot longer. DH & I are still in shock.
This will be my 2nd, DD will be 26 months when this bub is born.
I am due on the 31st July, but hope it all happens before then. I know what I want this time and will be having the birth I want, watch out anyone that tries to stop me!

I have had a cold for the last week and cant taste or smell, so am finding it really hard to eat much.

 everyone,

Welcome to the newies!! Congrats!

I've been absolutely flat out these past few days. We are going away tomorrow for 5-6 days, and I've been busy cleaning and preparing, etc. DH has arrived home today - Just!! They were going to leave at 2.30am this morning (as it's a 3 hour drive to the airport), but due to the rain and flooding, they left straight after work and set off at 11.20pm last night. As it was, they had to sit on the side of the road for 2.5hrs and wait for the flood waters to subside a little before driving on! Thank fully, they made it into Rocky safely, and he is now home with us in Vic. He could have almost been flooded in at work!!

I have my 16 week ob appoint in the morning, which I'm looking forward to. I'm going to ask him if perhaps he can get a glimpse of what we may be growing in there.

I had an appoint with our Doula yesterday, which went well. Next time, we are going to sit and write my birth plan. I've never bothered with my others, but after having 3, I really know what I want and don't want this time, and my birth plan, and my Doula, will make sure this happens!! I showed her my 12 week ultrasound pics, and she took a guess at it being a boy, but I won't beleive anything until I see it myself!

Ok, now to go and pack the boys things! I'll try and pop back in tomorrow, after my Ob appoint, and before we head off.

Hi hi everyone!!

Gee I am so envious those of you who are already feeling bub, but I didnt feel dd til I was 22 weeks and then with ds it was at 17 so hopefully it wont be far away, I am 14 weeks now anyway, but would be so nice to feel even some slight movement.
Anyways almost 100% health again except for a slight cough, always seems to take so much longer when you are pregnant. And finally got my letter from the hospital with our first antenatal appointment which is next monday so very excited!!! And will probably have to book in for our 19 week scan while we are there which I am so looking forward to. Lets hope I am feeling baby move by then.

Welcome tootiredtosleep and welcome back lehma06.

Thats no good that you are feeling you are getting sick tomsmel, it sucks when you are not well and pregnant, especially if you already have kiddies to run around after, lets hope it doesnt turn into anything and that the rain slows soon for you.

mt and js mum glad that your hubby made it back and have a great time on your few days away. Fingers crossed for you that it is a girl. I am still trying to convince dh not to find ask what bub is at our next scan, but they will prolly tell us without having to ask hehehe I am feeling a girl for some reason, but my best friend has really got her hopes up for another little boy, either would be nice, but I spose another boy would be lovely for my ds, however next time I would really have my hopes on a girl...so cant win...heheheh as long as he or she is healthy.

anyways hope that the gals with low bp take it easy and that it improves for them, perhaps that is why my vision blacks out everytime I stand up? Will have to remember to ask when I got to my antenatal app next week.
Have a great day everyone

Thanks Willsmumma, feeling much better like I have joined the human race again, certainly does take it out of you simply growing another person let alone being sick and then having another two to take care of. But hopefully it is almost gone.

Hoping everyone with headaches feel better soon and hoping that all the things happening shereejoy are not bad ones.

tomsmel and willsmumma I am so envious of the belly, I still look all squishy and like i am plain fat although I can feel and see my bubbie belly noone else seems to agree, oh well I spose I am only 14 weeks.

Is anyone else's belly looking lop-sided. mine seems to be leaning to the right hand side. Today i have just popped out. its really cute and i am starting to look pregnant. :yelclap:
I have been getting really bad headaches the last couple of days, they are all in the right hand side of my head and down my neck, but only on the right hand side.

Welcome back lehma, i was really concerned, trust a computer malfunction, i bet yours is male. :geek:

Yes...mine always seems to sit out further on the right hand side. It seems to even itself out as my belly gets bigger though.

I think it's safe to say that I definately felt bub move this morining. It felt like I was being poked in the belly from the inside. I'm pretty sure it's the same feeling I had with DS the first time I noticed it. Anyone else had the same feeling?

Hey Whyattsmum, thats a great idea.

My scan is 18th feb, but I also have a 4D 16 week scan on wednesday, so I'm hoping we might be able to find out then. We are finding out but then not telling anyone (we managed to keep it secret last time for the whole pregnancy). I am thinking a boy because my pregnancy has been very different this time to the last two times when I know I was carrying a girl. This time I have put on hardly any weight (last time it all went to my butt and thighs - I was in maternity pants at 8 weeks!) whereas this time I am still in normal clothes. Hope this helps!

Cool ours is $1750 - Do you think they'd let you pay it off? It's a lot of money in one hit! I am kinda hoping I'll be able to take the bill to medicare and get the cheque from them first then pay the balance (then have to go back to medicare for a further rebate because it'll push me way over the threshold).

Just wish the car rego and house rates weren't due around the same time - makes it awkward!

Will have to ask at next appt.

Maybe just find out if it is the same item number that I mentioned earlier.

Also I mentioned the other day things have been a little stressful here of late. I haven't slept well for 4 nights. This is our first year of supplying back to school stationery with the Newsagency (seeing as we only bought the shop a year ago) and we have been overwhelmed with support. We received about 145 orders and we were only expecting about 80. We have been putting the packs together under our house which is not closed in and with all this weather we are freaked about it getting wet. We have no room in our shop to do this type of picking of orders, nor do we have room in our house (the mining houses are very small), so there are tarps galore down stairs, but it doesn't stop the moisture in the air and that is the most concerning part atm, everything just feels damp, even in our house and everything is enclosed. It has been really worrying for me of late! We have more then $10000 invested under the house and be stuffed if we could claim insurance on it, if it all goes hay wire. Also we are still waiting on items to finish some off and because all the roads are closed (due to all the wet weather we have had), the trucks cannot get thru to us, hence the reason we have to hold onto uncompleted orders longer. I just want to get rid of it!!!!!! I got Wade to get up in the middle of the night to go and check on our stock last night as it had been raining continuously and I am just so worried about it.

Sounds like you're paying pretty much the same as me as I don't have to pay anything after the 20week payment except for antenatals and scans. I like it your way though - broken up! Good luck with the results - thinking of you. :hugs:

I'm doing okay - still have that stomach thing. So confused now as to whether it IS a pregnancy related thing or not as DH is saying he felt nauseous not crampy... it's not really a crampy feeling but that's the easiest way to describe it. the rebate is only $90 odd but then you will get alot more back due to going over your out of pocket expenses. I think it has gone up to $1175 this year but then you get 80% back of what you paid.

Jane yes my pregnancy with DD was excellent - no complaints about that however the care for my DD was not ideal but still didn't turn me against public.

I had a miscarriage last year and it was the treatment from the public hospital here (not where DD was delivered) that made me refuse to go there anymore no matter what. We are lucky we got private health when we did so we could go private with this bub.

Our focus is more for possible problems with bubs which is why we're private.

No, medicare has scheduled fees for each item number and you usually get 75-85% of that, regardless of what you were actually charged. Anything else, you have to wear the cost. So it seems we're only getting $97 back.

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I hadn't realised how much the private out of office expenses were. We are going public, as based on my circumstances I would being seing the same high risk doctors whether I was public or private and I have been incredibly impressed by the Adelaide Womens and Childrens hospital for both of my previous c-sections. The only place I don't like is the Womens Assessment Service (Emergency Dept) as the midwives are SOOOO insensitive early on in pregnancy (I guess they have seen so many early losses it makes them blase (sp?) about each individuals circumstances) but luckily I've only needed to visit there a couple of times this pregnancy.

Juzzy: All my thoughts are with you today :hugs:.

Sarah: As I am going public at a teaching hospital I try and volunteer for as many trials as I can. The main one is the NIH trial which is looking at early markers for pregnancy complications like pre-ecclampsia, premature rupture of membranes etc. Anyone can participate as they have a high risk group and a control group. The great thing about this trial is that they keep a really close eye on everything so from 12 weeks until 20 weeks you have a monthly 4D scan and then after that one every fortnight - all free :yelclap: (I ended up with quite a photo album of my DD before she was even born ). For someone as paranoid as me it is a wonderful reassurance that everything is going ok. I participated in 3 different trials with my DD. I just wanted to feel confident in myself that I had done everything possible to bring home a healthy baby is case something went wrong.

For some reason today I am feeling on top of the world. I smiled the whole way into work on the bus and at every person I passed in the street (people probably thought there was something wrong with me LOL). I just feel realy content, I don't know what has brought this on today, I should probably feel miserable as I start back at work full-time today!!!

Oh well, hope I can send you all some of my happiness vibes!!! :yelclap:

We are going public as we did with our other two, we got the birth centre the first time which was great one on one and you know who will be there supporting you through your birth when the time comes but then we had to have an emergency c section so you cant go back after that as your subsequent births are considered risky so that sucks but last delivery we had a great experience with all the staff even after having to have another emergency c section. So I wouldnt choose private because of treatment or anything, and for one we couldnt afford it and two the private hospital is further away than the public so is essentially more convenient. But good luck for all of us, no matter what type of hospital we are going to.

Vasiliasmum that is awesome about volunteering to help students and stuff, we have done the same in previous pregnancies, and i remember with our last bub we had a learning midwife and a student nurse who were both fantastic, I didnt mind them being there as they have to learn somehow although I liked the fact that they were introduced as 'learning' and I was asked if I minded them being around and helping out, rather than not being told at all..dunno what difference that makes but helped in my mind and at least you then have a choice. And was actually good, hubby and I had someone else to natter to inbetween all the hard work I was doing of course hehehehe but I felt bad for them, I dont have easy labours (obviously with the results) and have big babies and I felt as though I would be putting them off ever wanting to have kids...but I was saying the whole time it is worth, it will be worth it...at the end "I hope it will be worth it...joking"

Beth good luck with the new ' do' before and after piccies would be great though.

juzzy good luck thoughts are with you.

Still struggling with a boys name, have a list a mile long but hubby is the difficult one, I thought of Kenton last night but knowing he will get Kent for short I dont know that I like it now. I really like Porter too. Carter is alright aswell I guess. Any ideas?

Good luck with everyone and their scans, i have my first antenatal this afternoon so I am very excited will be interesting though having to juggle my other two during my appointment but I am sure I will be fine. Will probably have to book my scan after I have finished my appointment so that is very very exciting. Not going to find out though, not unless we can obviously see, we have a girl and boy already so we are fine for clothes, besides I like the guessing and seeing as this time round we will know what date bubs will be born on as we will have to have a planned and booked c section I would like one surprise.

Ok getting off here now...hope all is well with you all and you had a great weekend.

Hey Libby thanks for that. Yeah looking forward to it, going to stay in my pjs right up until I have to have a shower and go so I can clean the house and get the washing done...feels a bit lazy to still be in them but a waste of water to have two showers so close. You have good appointments today too...I am looking forward to asking lots of questions, and it just feeling more real, also hearing the heartbeat too.

Hey guys,..... for all those with a big management fee,..do what we do,.. Write your Ob a cheque for the full amount,.... get the reciept and go straight to medicare,...get the rebate from medicare,..pop it into your account to cover the cheque,..and then you only need to have half of the lump sum in your account! Make sense?:D

We are going public too, just a different hospital this time due to it being closer. Are you from Melbourne Jane?

Yep- bubs will be born at Box Hill Hospital (known as birralee) They have a pretty good reputation (maternity wise!) Plus my sister works there, and i used to work at the hospital when i went through uni, so know the place like the back of my hand. Makes it really familiar for me, and i know HEAPS of the staff. Also get good treatment from the ward staff as they know my sister works there IYKWIM

Like Beth, i see the same midwife the whole way through etc, and she will be on call to deliver bubs (assuming it is not the weekend she has off... like an obs)

It is a training hospital also, so i like to ask if they have studies etc, but not this time sadly.

I am also going Private, my Obs fees are $1250 and I pay $50 per visit. I don't think we will have any out of pocket expenses for the hospital but who knows how much it will be if I need pain relief from an anthesist? I guess it would have been so much cheaper if we had of gone public, but I like the idea of having my own room. I guess I will know alot more for the next baby we have.

The best thing abou the whole public/private debate, is that we can have it - we are lucky enough to have one of the best health systems in the world. :yelclap:

For me, having a private room and all the extras that go with it are just lovely - and as we have been paying for top hospital cover with extras, I plan to make use of it!!

Having said that, my best friend is having her fourth a week before me and she has gone through the public system every time and been very happy, with no complaints at all.

Isn't it great to have choices??

:iagree: the fact that we can make a choice is one of the best things about our fantastic country.

I think it makes for an intersting look at others pregnancy, labour, birth and after care to read all the birth stories. It is great to read that we have so many different ways to give birth, and how empowering is it, that as a woman, doing what our bodies are built for to have the final say in what we choose to do.

Well off i go now to join a womens rights rally and to burn my bra. I promise i wont have anymore womens lib moments. :ecomcity:

The movement is getting stronger day by day. DH is getting excited about the day when he can feel it through the belly. He gets jealous when i say to him i feel the baby move but he cant feel it yet. :D All things are good at the moment. :yelclap: Im so happy that ive made it this far and with sanity as well. My belly has got big too. I really feel pg now and i find it hard to lean over my belly now. Anyway i hope you are all doing well. :hugs:

Hi everyone,
We arrived back home late this arvo, and thought I'd better jump on here quickly before bed and see what's been going on!!

How clear was the 12 scan? What makes her think boy? I still think girl!! :)

I asked her the same thing, and she said from her experience at looking at scans, she'd say it's a boy. Something to do with the angle of the little blob type thingy just near the baby's bottom

Hi Girls, when is everyone having their 18 weeks scan? I wonder who will be the first to find out the sex of their darling bubba?:flowerz:

I have my scan on Feb 14th. It was going to be the
7th, but DH wasn't going to be here, so I changed it! I'll be 20 weeks for the scan. We still don't know if we'll find out the sex. I asked my Ob to look at my appoint on Thursday, but he said he couldn't tell. Perhaps he just didn't want to tell!

Anyone else going private and if it's not TMI can I ask what you're paying for the management fee due around 20weeks?

Yep. Our fee is $2470.00, and I also pay $55 dollars at each appoint. Somehow, it works out that my out of pocket is $1304.90. I will pay 2/3rds of the fee at 20 weeks - which is claimable, and the last part of payment is due at around 32 weeks, and is not claimable at either medicare or with our health insurance.

Just to up date you all, I am still impatiently waiting to hear from my radiologist in regards to my CVS results. Monday will be day 7 so hopefull will know something by Wed, the wait is killing me and I am trying not to be scared, anxious and emotional. I am hoping with every ounce of my being that everything is alright, I really don't want to be the 1 in 60 to have bad results but can't help thinking about it.
Anyway, you may or maynot hear from me next week depending on the outcome, I will try and let you know, you may hear me scream from the rooftops if it is o.k
Best of luck girls.
:hair: :fingerscrossed:

Thinking of you! :hugs: Hopefully it's not too much longer for you to wait.

Ok, off to bed. Sorry it's been quick..I'll try to get back on tomorrow, in between loads of washing, lol!

Hi Naomi,

Congratulations on reaching 17 weeks !!!:yelclap:

I understand how you feel about drawing near to the gestation when your DD Oceana passed away. Be strong, feeling the baby moving must be a great reassurance that all is ok. My DD Grace passed away at 24 weeks and I felt similar in my last pregnancy around that time. I find it a little difficult to feel 'connected' to the bub until after 28 weeks (which is when my OB told me is the minimum 'safe' gestation for a bub to be born without too many long term health issues) which is sad. Maybe when I start feeling movement that will get better. I always find it reassuring to imagine my little angel Grace sitting on my shoulder and watching over me and the baby to keep us safe.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I have ordered a doppler. This non movement is driving me nuts. The movement is way less then it was at 12-13 weeks. What is with that? I just hope the doppler does not make me more anxious. Its just haven't felt any decent movement for 2 weeks now. Bubs has to be facing my back, that is my only explanation.

You'll have to let us know how you go with the doppler. I have been tempted to order one a few times but my DH convinced me that I would probably just stress myself out more if I couldn't find the heartbeat - and I'd probably become obsessive listening a 100 times a day!!! LOL He knows me too well!!!

Hi Sheree...let us know how you go with the doppler. I've been very tempted to get one myself but I'm more worried about not finding a heartbeat & then I'd be even more stressed. I guess we have to go with the assurance that if there is no severe cramping or bleeding that bubs is ok. Please try not to stress...I haven't felt bub kick since the first time so I just have to keep telling myself it's ok & it will be going nuts at our scan which is in 2 weeks :smiliedance:

There is a website called first beats. I am happy just to do it for a month until movement becomes more regular and stronger, so worth every cent of the cost for me for now. Apparently I am getting here tomorrow, I am not sure with all this flooding we have been getting here, so will see I guess.

My update.

Well I could not wait until tomorrow for results, thank god for my impatients. The radiologist who was to inform me of my results ended up not being there this week, so I rang Ob who is also away until next Tues but spoke with his midwife. She rang the lab and they told her that the earliest the results might be in is Fri and they can take up to 4weeks to get full results. The scientist at the lab overheard the conversation and rang my midwife back and told her that so far it might be normal but this is not a definate answer until full results are in. They apparently look for 3 soft markers for downs and so far have only found two, which means everything is normal, if there were 3 it means downs, two is good. There is no word on T13/18 so fingers crossed everything remains normal. It is a slight relief to know this, but there is still more waiting, I hate the waiting.

Will let you know more on Fri if all results are in.
Thanks for all your support, I really hope nobody else has had to go thru this, it is not the nice part of being pregnant.

They will just take your blood pressure, urine sample for protein in urine and maybe use the doppler on your tummy to hear the heart beat. Oh and maybe even weigh you. They are pretty simple assessments really.

Hi all , just a quick update from me as i'm buggered from work and ready for bed. We had our 16 weeks appt at the hospital yesterday and I had the fright of my life :(

I saw the midwife and she said everything was going fine but I'd had to see the doc as well. The doc brought in the doppler to listen to bub and couldn't get a heartbeat  He tried 3 different machines and each time it didn't work.

I was almost in hysterics by then, so I told him to try another one just incase, sure enough there was our little bub's hb. He then turned around to me and said that the batteries were dying on the others, that's why they didn't detect anything...WTF!!! I could have punched him :banghead:

He then proceeded to checked my blood pressure and it was very high. I was like, of course it's bloody high, you've nearly given me a heart attack  So i really hope I don't get that doc again. Our next appt is on 31st march which is 26 weeks.

OMG what a fright honey. Glad all is ok though.

Just thought I would share some information. For any of you first time mummies, apparently your blood pressure will be high first time round, so my midwife said. Mine is def good this time and geez it was borderline high last time. I even spoke to a friend or two yesterday and they said the same, their first it was high, their 2nd it was good. And the swelling was good 2nd time round too. My swelling was terrible with Lachlan, I could push in my my legs and they would come back - just huge divits in my leg and they looked white, like marshmallows.

Did you all hear the news, Heath Ledger is dead. Omg!!!!!

Sarah, it did seem to me that it was a long time between my appts but the midwife told me that it's all fine.

I have an ultrasound on the 7th feb which is 19 weeks so at least I get to see bub and hear the heartbeat again. :smiliedance:

Sheree, that's interesting about the blood pressure with your first bub. Maybe it's all the worry etc associated with being a first time parent.

I'm seriously thinking about hiring one of those dopplers too. Being my first bub, I haven't felt anything yet and cause there is such a huge gap between my appts, I would love the reassurance of being able to hear bub's heartbeat whenever I want. :cloud9:

Welcome to Happyjacksmum! Congrats on your pregnancy. I hope your taking it easy, and as the otehr girls have said, have some support networks around you.

Tomsmel: I have 7 weeks between appoints with my ob this time, so I won't be seeing him until
6th March - 23 weeks. If you have any problems or questions before your next visit, give them a call and bring the appoint closer, otherwise I wouldn't be too concerned....it just means that they don't see you as having any problems;)

Re: Blood pressure - Mine was actually high BEFORE I fell pregnant with number 1. Surprisingly, during my first pregnancy, it was normal and has remained that way ever since, even throughout my next pregnancies. This time, it's also ok.

TSP: Lovely to see the ultrasound pics, and good to hear everything seems to be going well.

Well, DH has gone back to QLD today for the next 7 days. In a way, I was happy to say goodbye!! We just seem to be arguing all the time lately....he says it's because I'm pregnant, I say it's because he's just a typical bloke!!

I'm going to hire a doppler today too Sheree. Has yours arrived yet? I used to have one of my own, but I sold it to my friend last year when she found out she was pregnant. I was thinking of getting one at the 10 week mark, but I had my first appoint then, then the scan, then my next appoint, so didn't worry with it. Now though, I have to wait until 14 Feb till my next scan, then March 6 till my next ob appoint, and I'm getting impatient waiting for regular movements, lol! I'm off to the website now

Heath Ledger - All I can say is OMG! I was in complete shock this morning when I heard....I really hope it wasn't suicide. Poor Michelle will be blaming herself in some way if it was....

Have a good day, Sarah

I have never had a high blood pressure. With Will is was always 110/70 i could always guess it, the doctors thought i was funny.

I was just meaning generally speaking your blood pressure is high first pregnancy, just as generally speaking boys are more active then girls hehe. You are the exception Libby hehe lucky thing.

Melissa - can't say I was any more stressed about Lachlan then I am this pregnancy, so that blows that theory out the window, but yes it is all so unknown first pregnancy isn't it? Can't believe you don't see the OB after your next scan, why so long between appts. That seems like a long time to me.

No I haven't received doppler yet, they said today but with all this flooding in this area, may not be today. But bubs is def scared, gosh I have been getting sum good kicks. Looks like I have another little monkey on my hands hehe.

Hi Girls, can you please give me some feedback? I am 16 weeks, 4 days pregnant. Last Friday I felt the bub kick for sure (not just fluttering) & last night I felt it kicking & I looked down & I could see it kicking. Is that too soon to be seeing the baby kicking? I was not this early when I could even feel DS kicking. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely excited but just think it’s very soon. I have my scan in 2 weeks so I guess I’ll find out if I’m further along than we think or if there may be 2 in there???

Hi all

How have you all been? Well had our first ante natal app on monday and all went really well, got to hear bub which was lovely as we still arent feeling anything yet...grrr
But all in all just made me feel pregnant to be there and talking about the up and coming arrival. Booked our next scan so that is on the 21st with another ante natal app the day after, so will be a busy couple of days, but good ones.

Oh and we are 15 WEEKS TODAY YAY!!! Gee going by fast.

Took dd to her kindy today so she could hang out a bit and get a feel for the place and it was the first time she seemed a little concerned at the idea that she will actually be left there for a period of time, but she made a lil friend and cant seem to wait now so that is good and exciting, this day next week she will be off and beginning her life as an individual...sorry that isnt meant to sound like I am a drama queen.

That is great news so far too juzzyduck, good luck for friday, fingers are crossed for you.

That is interesting about bubs jasserbean, twins would be lovely, a lot of work but lovely...looking forward to hearing all about it.

Sheree great to hear that bubs is moving around for you...just waiting for it myself...thought I felt bub the other night, three kicks on my right handside whilst I was asleep in bed, but I am thinking that i was just dreaming it...

Anyways hope everyone else is well, better go and get some dinner on.

Just a quick question, I asked about names earlier for boys, do you think that I could have another L name if it is a boy this time round? Our son is Landon but I really like Lincoln too? Would love to know what everyone thinks.

Congrats for those girls who have started feeling movement - I'm still waiting! I think I feel something every now and then but it happens so infrequently and far between that I begin to doubt myself.

I had a scan yesterday, I asked to find out the sex but they couldn't tell. Oh well, my morphology scan is booked for the 18th so not toooooo long to wait :yelclap:. Then I have another scan booked for the 20th. So two scans in two days, lucky me!! The scan yesterday was good - bub was measuring to dates and at the 54% percentile (whereas my DD was in the < 8%). They estimated the bub was 130 grams (so where has the rest of that 2 kgs I've put on come from I wonder!!! LOL). Bub looked like they waved at me at one stage which was very cute!

Struggling being back at work full-time. I miss me DD even though I know she is fine at home with her dad. I'm working 7am - 5pm Mon, Tues, Thu and Fri to make up my full-time hours so its good at least having one day at home during the week. Today feels like another Monday though!!!

Hope you all have great days.

Talk soon :flowerz:

vasiliasmum- thats great news about your bubba. I cant believe you have 2 scans in 2 days, you lucky thing.

Hi ladies,

it's been a little while between posts but I am checking in every day...

I felt this bub move last week (12 wks) and it was cool...2 wks earlier than my last pg...

Not much is happening, just chasing my 16mth around and still coping with morning sickness every day...but I know eventually that will end.,,.thank goodness..:yelclap:

We still have a boys name picked from last time but I keep changing my mind as to girls names... we aren't finding out this time so I really need to have one of both, I am sure I will change my mind a lot in the next few months as I did before...eventually this little one will get a name and all will be well..:laughing:

Thanks for the feedback girls. Still undecided what to do about it actually need to have a sit down with hubby as I am the kind of person who has to have a name ready even though it may not be the name we use, I like to be organised.

Congrats mt and js mum and tomsmel on feeling bub move. Oh and kangaskippy too.

Thanks everyone....yeah, it's a bit exciting!

:smiliedance: 17 weeks today!! :smiliedance:

I have to stay home all day today, to wait for my doppler. I hope it arrives in plenty of time to still get out and do some things. i made sure I had the older boys at daycare before 9am so I didn't miss the delivery! At least having them at daycare so early has allowed me to get so much houseowrk done already!!

Paihea: My girlfriend is engaged to a guy with 12 siblings, yes 12, all starting with the letter D!! I don't think i's weird. I do think it's wierd when people call there children names like Christian and Tristan
I haven't really thought much about names yet. I guess we'll just use our 'back up' boys name from last time - it was hard enough coming up with the two we had picked, I can't imagine going through it all again! And, I have had a girls name picked for the last 2 boys, so will probably use that if it's a girl, although DH doesn't really like it.

Kangaskippy: :smiliedance: to you for feeling your baby move!

Vasiliasmum: How exciting getting to see your baby! I love ultrasounds....why are having 2 within 2 days? Make sure you don't wear yourself out too much at work, won't you? I can remember being pregnant with DS2 and working full time. My DH and I were also seperated at the time. It was hard work, having to work 10-12 hour days, then come home to care for DS1, myself, and the house! Hence why I resigned at 19 weeks!

Ok, off to finish the cleaning while DS3 is fast asleep. I'd loce to have a sleep myself, but can't risk missing the courier...grr!

Hey Sarah, has the doppler arrived yet?? Also I know what you mean about the arguing with DH. Whenever i am pregnant we seem to argue more. He thinks its me obsessing about the baby, and having nothing else on my mind. I think its him just stressing me out and being a typical selfish male LOL. My DH used to travel a lot, and I actually miss it. It was good to have a bit of break from him now and then....

M,T & J's MUM - Congrats on receiving the doppler - can't wait to hear how you go with it..

Why the 2 scans in 2 days - one is my morphology and one is the 4D one for the trial I am participating in. Not they are going to see anything different but I'm certainly not going to complain about getting to see my bub again. Thinking its a good opportunity for just me and DH to go to the morphology to find out the sex. And then take along my mum and MIK to the next one and say we don't want to find out. That way no one is the wiser :yelclap:

On the name issue, as is the greek tradition my DD was named after my MIL and if I have a boy he will need to be named after my FIL. I will only have a choice on the middle name. If we have another girl I can choose the name but my DH wants a greek name so that narrows down the selection..... my DD is Vasilia, and if we have another girl I like either Sofia, Eleni or Stella (but I can't get Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront out of my mind ). For a boy it will be Konstantinos shortened to Kosta.

Ahhh, decisions, decisions.....
