View Full Version : Oct 06 Mummies - Happy New Year!!
:smiliedance: HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :smiliedance:
Here we are in 2008...already!
 We had a pretty uneventful night last night! Apart from the fact that the temperature stayed at
40C until 4am this morning...... Yuck! Luckily though, it didn't stop me from sleeping, lol. I was in bed by 9.30pm. Such a party pooper!! DH's mate came over a little after I went to bed to keep him company. What is it with men sometimes? Have to stick in numbers, lol.
Hope everyone had a great night, whatever it was you all did :D
Kimba: WOW! I can't believe Jet has so many teeth!! J is dragging behind big time - he has his 4 top teeth, bottom 2, and then his top 2 molars...that's it! T had heaps of teeth at this age! Great news that your little man is starting to feel better too!
Sare: What horrible weather we had yesterday, hey? Apparently, the temp didn't drop below 40C until 4am this morning!! I'm shocking when it's hot, doesn't matter how much water I drink, I still get some form of heat stroke, even if I'm only outside for such a short time. I'm looking forward to winter already, lol. Great news on getting your boobs back! Hopefully they'll be back to normal in no time....I'm still waiting for mine to return to normal, and I think I'll be waiting a loooong time, lol!
Jackie: Yay for Keanu! What a clever boy! It's so cute isn't it?
Beck: It sounds like Kayley is doing great with all of her words! I must be doing something, cos J isn't really saying much yet.
Michelle: Lol, the reindeer poo was a potato wrapped in wrapping paper! Still makes me laugh!
Little J has just walked into me with a very blue face  Quizzed the children, oh, and it's play doh! charming! Best be off to clean him up.
Have a great first day of the New Year everyone!!
:sunshine: Happy 2008 Everyone! :sunshine: I'm just watching London's fireworks on TV right now - wow! Looks like they're trying to outdo Sydney - but that'll never happen LOL.
I hope that this year brings everything we dream of. For me, I'd like 2008 to bring further improvements on the work-family balance, getting my finances/ debts under control, de-cluttering my home and life, spending a bit less time in cyberspace & lot more time with friends/ family, & being more creative - from cooking to scrapbooking and photography, even hand-making cards and presents. (Let's see how I go - I'm always full of inspiration on 1st Jan!)
I was in bed by 930 last night too, and I'm not even pg. Just can't handle my alcohol any more - DH and I both crashed after a few drinks! I was woken at midnight by the sound of fireworks (in our suburb and also the Sydney Harbour ones, which we can hear from our place). Jet slept right through all the noise though, bless him.
Bec - :hugs: you poor darling, I'm thinking of you. Please don't apologise for posting - that's what we're all here for after all, to support each other :hugs:
Sarah - at the reindeer poo I will definitely keep that one in mind for Jet. I hope you got it on video! LOL at your DH needing to have his mate over to hold his hand last night. Blue playdoh on the face - your place must be a riot with 3 cheeky boys!!!
:party:Happy New Year:party:
Bec - :hugs: Thinking of you too. I've read so many stories of bleeding during early pg that ended up being all ok, hopefully you're one of them. Look after yourself and as Kimba and Sarah said post away.
Kimba - lol at not being able to handle your alcohol anymore. I'm glad Jet is feeling a little better.
We had a lovely time at the bbq. We got home around 1am. Eloise stayed awake the whole time playing with the other kids, she had a ball. Needless to say she had a very big sleep in this morning.
:wave:hi

well must go wash some dishes
happy new year everyone
I didnt even notice it was a whole new year. Typical me!
We went to mums for the long weekend, along with 20 other people. She turned her property into a camping ground for a family reunion. I had already baggsied a bed inside (booted my little bro out) so it was okay. Abbey LOVED having all those people around to worship her, her feet barely touched the ground. Not for want of us trying to put her down, she just grips with her koala muscles and dangles until you give up and keep carrying her, or pass her to someone new.
My dad is sad that Abbey won't be his friend though. She wont go to him willingly, but doesnt argue once he has her. He's just not mummy, or grandma, or aunty x, or other aunty x...He's a HE and its all wrong!
Sare - 1am! Abbey went to sleep at 7pm, even with all the roar and questionably acquired fireworks. I didnt argue, its hard work convincing her not to wander off to investigate mum's big 'yard'.
Sarah - lol at the blue face - We painted a mural at mums and abbey apparently got curious about what the paint tasted like, so she was very purdy too.
40deg at 4am! That's inhuman. You need a cyclone to cool you down.
Bec - I hope its not as you fear, darn these public holidays. I hope you can not only get a blood test but an ultrasound to set your mind at rest. My SIL bled for some of the early stages of her pregnancy and it was all well.
Hey guys,
well I'm off back to work today, but depending on how I feel (and if they air con's fixed yet!) I might not stay long.
Thanks for the positive wishes guys but I'm losing clots now Sue so I reckon it's all over but blood test this afternoon anyway (2pm). The worst thing about it is how horrible the whole process is... it's so scary and messy and disgusting physically as well as all the emotional stuff. I just wish I knew what to expect.
Anyway - Kimba you got me thinking, what do I want this year? Well as soon as I find out whether the job offer will be forthcoming or not, DP & I are off to a financial planner to sort out how much of a house and wedding we can afford and how to get there. I know what the bank will lend us but that may be different to what we can realistically afford! So I want this year to be the one we start approaching money like grown ups!
Michelle sounds like a great family party - I love those! So many temporary babysitters. Lol at you turfing your little bro - trust me it's part of the tradeoff for being a bit spoiled as the younger sibling - you always have to give up your bed for visitors!
Sue :smiliedance: Kane for the walking and talking, sounds like he's been busy! I hope you can sort the vomiting out though, poor little mate. Ella starts daycare in a week and a half too, full time. I'm a bit apprehensive about that too (especially as she's sleeping through now and I don't have to be there for her to go to sleep...) DP is taking her in today for a bit of orientation.
Hey Sare - glad you and the kids had a good new years party. Good on Eloise for sleeping in... if Ella goes to bed late she still wakes up at the same time - she's just really grumpy til nap time!
Sarah - OMG I do not miss those hot hot temperatures. At home we used to have at least 2 weeks every summer where the mercury stayed there day and night. I think I'll always be homesick for the flat country but oh the luxury of cool nights! Lol at the blue face from the play doh.
Well better go get dressed.
No Sue, I win the slackest Oct mum award...lol
Hi all :D
I havent been in here in ages as I am so flat out atm  with work, kids, husband.
I hope everyone had a great new years. We had some toss bag set off fireworks on our car so I paid them an early morning visit yesterday, they wernt impressed when I threw his burnt out crackers all over his drive way... :devil6:
James is good.. 11 teeth now. He loves to run and play ball and ride motor bikes with dad (this will be the death of me).
He is still in bed atm. His sisters are with there grandparents for the holidays so he is enjoying the peace and quiet.
He also loves the pool. He insist that I let go of him and let him go under, its scary but he loves it...
I am looking forward to this year. Dh and I have booked and paid for our belated melbourne honeymoon for July and I am so excited... :smiliedance:
Well I better run, love to you all..
Take care

Hi girls
Sorry, i'm at an internet cafe so it will be a quickie.
Bec - I'm so sorry for what you're going through :hugs: I suppose nothing can prepare you but i'm forever the optimist and hopefully it will be ok.
Gumby - Welcome back, glad to hear all is well in your world.
Vic girls - can you send some of that heat up here?! It has been raining virtually non stop here and the ocean is WILD so not quite the holiday we were planning for yet it's very lovely just hanging out as a family.
Happy New Year and lots of love to all and looking forward to getting back to my hopefully fixed laptop so I can spend some more tiome with y'all

Happy New year everyone!
WOO HOO!!! Huge congratulations Georgia! I am so happy for you.
Bec, when I fell pg with Aleisha I really did not have many symptoms of being pg. I think I did about 10 tests on differen days to make sure I really was. I have a feeling though with your second and others you don't have time to be sick as you have someone who depends on you. You have to keep plodding along. I think there was only 1 or 2 days when I called Mum as I could not look after Jordan.
You poor Melbourne people. How hot has it been for you guys! The temps have only been in the late 20's here and I have been struggling with that.
Oops gotta run- Aleisha has just woken up, BBL ... So the feeding continues....
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE AS WELL!!!
Love
Lucy

Hi all,
I feel like I had a really productive day today. I should set myself New Resolutions more often!
I don't know if it's because he's been home with me for 10 days or because I looked after him when he was sick last week, but Jet's suddenly really attached and clingy to me and doesn't want a bar of DH! To the extent that he'll push him away, or cry and reach for me if DH picks him up. Very flattering for me but I feel a bit sorry for DH...then again, I do think that it's justified payback for me doing most of the caregiving and all the night wakings for the last 15 months
Bec - :hugs: I'm so sorry to hear that the bleeding hasn't stopped, I was really hoping that maybe it would be a false alarm. How did your blood test go? waiting for results must be driving you crazy...
Sue - good luck with daycare! If Kane is anything like Jet he'll probably love it. Sorry to hear that his health problems are still ongoing.
Georgia - sending lots of sunshiny :sunshine: nice waves vibes for the rest of your holiday
Rian - hello stranger! good to hear from you and glad to hear that all is going well...
Michelle - LOL at Abbey rejecting your dad - it must be a grandfather thing because Jet clearly prefers my mum to my dad, and it's getting more and more obvious the older he gets. Only fair I suppose, since Dad tends to favour/ focus on my nephew  so maybe Jet has just picked up on that, and focuses on my mum instead. He does see her more often than Dad though, and she was the first woman to hold him and talk to him when he was born (while I was in recovery) so who knows, maybe that 'bond' has lasted...it's nice to think so anyway!
Anyway sorry if i missed anyone, hope you're all enjoying 2008 so far, and for those of you who were sweltering I hope you get some relief soon!
Hi guys,
Well I had the blood tests yesterday - and it's definitely gone.:gloomy: I still have to have the u/s today to make sure it's all gone and there's no complications. Fun. Most of the time I'm ok but the mood swings are a bit scary! DP told me it was normal - he'd been on the internet yesterday while I was at work to do a bit of research, which I was quite touched by.
DP thinks I should stay home from work today but I think I need the distraction and the normalcy - plus there's only 3 people in the office this week so it's not like a crazed work environment!
Oh Bec :( :hugs: I'm so sorry to hear that :hugs:
I agree that sometimes being at work and being busy can be more helpful than staying at home, but please be kind to yourself and if you need some time alone or with DP then don't think that you have to 'soldier on' for work's sake - they can cope without you. Good luck with your scan, I hope that it gives the all clear so you can try again when you're ready :hugs: :fingerscrossed:
Bec :hugs: I'm so sorry. I wish there was something that I could say or do that would make you feel better, but just know that we're all here to support you in any way that we can. Your dp sounds like a real sweetheart.
Kimba - Jet sounds like such a sweetie. Your poor dh. Lara is the same with Michael too. All she wants is her mummy. Good on you for setting all your new year resolutions. I have to admit, I never bother, because I never stick to them.
Lynn- I'd gladly send some of the heat to you guys. Yesterday was lovely, around 25, but it's on the way up again. How's everything going with Jordan and Aleisha?
Rian - Hi. Glad to hear everything is going well with you guys. Yay on booking your honeymoon. Melbourne in July; I love it, but it will be cold!
Georgia - Hope the warmer weather has reached you up there.
Michelle - I know 1am is shocking, but her 2 best friends were there and there was no way on this earth that she would sleep. Knowing that she had a 2hr nap in the afternoon and slept in until 10am on NY day and then slept for almost 4hrs that afternoon. I won't let her do it again anytime soon. Your NYE sounded great.
Oh and Eloise is like Abbey. She is really funny with my dad. She'll give him a kiss when we arrive/go, but otherwise she stays clear of him. My dad is a bit sarcastic with her, trying to be funny, but she just doesn't get it (and he's not funny anyway). Eloise is a bit apprehensive around most men though (especially those with facial hair ). I think it might be their deeper voices and their height/build.
Sue - Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear that Kane is still having troubles. GL with the speech therapy, it worked wonders for Lara when she was having vomiting issues. She's doing great with food now.
How many sleeps are your toddlers (note to myself...got to stop writing baby...Lara is not a baby anymore :( ) having during the day now? We've just gone to the one, but somedays it's only a quick one other days it's almost 3hrs. This daughter of mine seems to be averse to any form of structure and routine :devil6:
Nothing really new and exciting happening here. I found out that Lara had cut her top 2 molars. She's practically running and climbing everywhere at the moment and has a real 'no fear' attitude (hence the chipped tooth, grazes and bruises). She's still everywhere with her sleeping, which is a pain in the butt. She's constantly acquiring new words, her latest are tickle and hello (which she only does when she has anything like a telephone near her ear).
We're on the countdown for Eloise starting 3yo kinder...less than a month to go :smiliedance: She's so excited and I really think it will be great for her. She's not in the least bit worried about being away from me and is dying to make some new friends.
I got my 2nd AF since having Lara yesterday and I've noticed that since having her I get really bad lower back pain with AF, which I never had before. For the 1st time ever, I've had to resort to pain killers for period pain. It sucks being female sometimes.
Well that's enough of my ramblings :ecomcity: Hope you are all well and Bec, make sure that you look after yourself.

Hi all...I'm back!
I will try not to ramble too much!
Bec- Oh lovey my heart goes out to you. :hugs: Take care of yourself and lap up all the love your DF is giving you, let him spoil you and take care of you. And don't be brave for our sake- we are all here to listen.
Oh and I just wanted to say that I loved you engagement story- it brought tears to my eyes, what a sweet way for it all to happen, and chuckles at your DF losing the first ring he bought you!
Georgia- :goodvibes: :goodvibes: Congrats on your fantastic news....hope you are feeling well and taking it easy!
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone esle, I won't do anymore personals otherwise I will be here all day!
My new years resolution is to work hard! Last year I worked full time over four days, but this year I have got Nedd in care 5days so I can really put a lot of effort into my job. It is the kind of job you can just do, or do really well- and we get bonused on our performance, if i have a good year I can earn up to 30k just in bonuses, and the more I earn the longer I can take off with the next bub, plus I won't go back to the job with 2 children- too much travel so really want to make the most of the oppurtunity whilst I have it.
Christmas was nice, so glad to be home though, MIL grates me terribly, and then I end up taking out my frustrations on DH so we bicker too. Some examples of MIL annoyances- she babytalks  I hate it when people don't talk properly to Nedd, for instance, "we's is going to have sleepys now?" I mean seriously how is the poor kid meant to learn how to talk? I have told DH that I will start correcting her everytime once Nedd can be influenced by her, but I was cringing everytime by the end of the week.
She also went on and on and on about how she can do things with Nedd, feed him things etc that are special or not allowed because she is the "nan", we are yet to find out what this means exactly as I didn't leave her alone with him long enough for her to do it, but it is almost like she thinks she can earn Nedd's love by bribery or something....
She also completely took over my son, and baby'd him- like still spoon feeding him when he likes to feed himself, mashing up vegies so she can feed him, holding him and giving him his night time bottle- when he likes to lie on the floor and give it to himself etc etc.
But all in all I survived, and thats the only time we stay with the for an extended period so its all over for another year!
I got (bought myself) a new camera for christmas- the canon S5IS (michelle I'd share it with you if you lived closer!) and I love love love it! DH wasn't convinced that we needed a new camera until it arrived- and suffice to say he is suitably impressed too. And a few bits and pieces to go with it....nothing too major though!
Nedd go spoilt, but not overly, which is good....we definitely don't have the toy overload problem in our house. The one thing he does love though is his new car- one of those little tykes red one with the yellow roof that are at a lot of play centres, he just adores it, can't work out yet how to make it go though!
He is saying a lot more words, and chatters in his own little language ALL day long! But his regular vocab now has things like, hello, ta, bye, there, gone, dog, blankie, and more that I can't think of! lol.
Kimba- Nedd has 16teeth too, his bottom molars must have come through a while ago and I only noticed them last night!
Our new years was great! We left Nedd with the MIL and headed to Phillip island...DH's uncle has a holiday house there (100metres off the beach), so we celebrated with DH's sister and her partner, watched the fireworks had drinks, headed back to the house for the midnight countdown, then since it was so hot DH and I nicked off and went skinny dipping at 2am  I had never been skinny dipping before and it was very liberating! I felt like a teenager again!
We met MIL half way the next day to collect Nedd and then headed home!
OK....I have rambled enough, I will be back later on to catch up on some more news! I am sure I have more to tell.....:ecomcity:
Bec - big hugs to you and your DH too for being such a dear. Hope the scan shows all clear and a curette isnt necessary. But if it is, I'm told your chances of conceiving again after that are really good, as you are all fresh and primed IYKWIM. :hugs:
Sal - you only beat me by a week! I just ordered myself a Panasonic Lumix Fz18 yesterday. I decided on that one over the Canon, but it was close. It should be here this time next week. And you know what? My photos of Abbey will still be blurry because she moves so darn fast!
My mum is the same with the 'nan rules'. Like Abbey can have all manner of rubbish and its okay because she's grandma and that's her job. She also loved to baby Abbey, but not anywhere near like that. Its different with a MIL though, you never know what they're thinking! What is normal to them is often so very not to you.
Sare - Abbey was one sleep for a while, but she seems to be needing 2 lately. Only the last 2 weeks really, which is fine. They're nice long ones too, 2 hours each. Given how much of an adorable rascal she is, I need the break.
Its odd how she will pick up certain things really easily, and others she deliberately does her own way. Like passing me a book to read - she wants me to read it to her, so she goes and gets it, walks about 1m away from me, and throws it at me! She actually expects me to duck for cover, pick it up, and read it to her happily! This from a girl who usually says 'thankyou' when I give her something. Of course, I refuse to read it or help her with things she 'gives' to me that way, if I don't pick it up she will go get it, and get ready to throw it at me again, so I have to take it from her hand and say 'thankyou', and eventually I hope she will learn not to chuck stuff at me. Daft baby. Oops. Daft toddler. Just bl00dy daft child!
Afternoon all. Just popping in quickly before I head to work..
 for Bec. I am sorry hun. Be nice to yourself.
I read in another thread AnnaT had another little boy the other day. 1 hour 40 minutes. Lucky ducky.
James is in bed so I better finish getting ready. If I am not back, have a great weekend..
Rian
Oh Bec I am so sorry. Big hugs to you. :hugs: Your DP sounds lovely and so understanding. You are so lucky to have that support.
Sare, Jordan has one big sleep during the day and was sleeping through the night (until Aleisha came along!). He usually goes down about 1ish (after Wiggles and lunch) and wakes around 4.
Speaking of which, Aleisha has just woken again.. BBL...
OMG Sal, your MIL and mine may have been separated a birth :p. Sleepies...I hate sleepies and all of the other words that she (and FIL, SIL & BIL) add -ies too. Can you tell I'm not a fan of that sort of baby talk too?
Hi all,
Bec how are you doing hon? thinking of you heaps :hugs:
DH and I found a 'new' (5 year old) car today and I should be excited, but I just feel guilty and apprehensive about getting into more debt, even if it's 'necessary' and not really a big amount. We do need to upgrade because our old Corolla is just a bit too small and it's 12 years old now, so we want to upgrade before it isn't worth anything and starts needing expensive major repairs...we've been looking for a family car which will see us through the next 5 years and we found a Magna wagon which ticks all the boxes (OK apart from being a daggy Magna! heh) - it's under $10K, under 100K km, and under 5 years old (barely), it's even my fave colour (silver). But they wouldn't trade in our Corolla which was humiliating :o so now we have to finance a bit more than we were anticipating, and also sell the Corolla privately which is a pain...ahh stress, isn't it grand?
Oh and I think Jet broke my nose today! He was getting really bored and overtired at the car yard :hissy:and threw his head back while I was holding him and cracked me right in the nose - we all heard the crack! It's very sore now although not crooked (thank goodness) so maybe it didn't actually break...but it sure felt and sounded like it...
:ecomcity:
Sleeping - for naps Jet is still inconsistent, some days he has 1 (either 9am or 12pm), some days 2 (9 and 2), some days he sleeps for hours and others for barely 40min. He sleeps about 12 hours at night but almost never sleeps through, there's usually one wakeup at least, but with all the teething and sickness he's had lately that's understandable.
Sare - I'm not really a fan of baby talk either, but I do find myself sometimes lately using Jet's baby words for things instead of the real word, I guess I'm trying to encourage his communication by showing him I understand, but I know it doesn't help his vocab, so I really must stop...LOL. Oh and on men with facial hair - I think that's another reason why Jet is so suss on my dad!
Lucy - give Aleisha a kiss for me, she's so cute! I'm all clucky for a girl again now...
Rian - wow 1 hour 40 min for AnnaT, lucky her!
Michelle and Sal - enjoy your new cameras! I have the Canon S3iS and love it, although even 15 months later I'm still working out how to use it properly, hehehe.
Re: MILs and Nana Rights...thank god mine lives overseas is all I can say! My mum is really good with Jet and thank goodness she doesn't really abuse her Nana Rights...much...LOL.
Bec: Huge :hugs: coming your way darl....I'm also thinking of you, and please try and rest and not overdo things...even though you feel like you need to keep your mind busy.... rest :hugs:
Must've been the day for finding cars Kimba!! DH and I found our car today too!! We have been looking for a while, and today we walked in, found it, asked for a test drive, then went back and signed up...almost - We are going to organise finance tomorrow, and all going well we can pick it up on Monday :smiliedance: It's a Ford Territory Ghia, and it's absolutely lovely to drive!! It's going to be a bit of a squeeze with the children and a pram, but the pram does fit, just, and if it gets too hard, then I'll just buy a double stroller which will fit a lot easier. I'm hearing you on the debt factor, but oh well, you only live once, lol!!
J isn't settling - think I need to change his nappy. I'll pop back in tomorrow to pick up where I'm leaving now.... Have a good night, Sarah
Ooh nice one Sarah :yelclap: I'm a wee bit jealous about the Ford Territory - that's actually my 'dream' car (oh how times have changed from when I dreamt of a sporty Alfa Romeo! LOL)
Yeah you do only live once, true, and it's only money...but with me being the main breadwinner and us wanting another baby I have to be really really conscious about debt and financial commitments, otherwise there's no way we can afford for me to take maternity leave again :( and Jet will be an only child! so a daggy old Magna it is for us, for now! :p

Now, now....don't dis the Magna! It's still better than walking right? I know what you mean about the debt side of things...we have only just paid all of ours, and now we go out and rack it up again - go figure!!
Hey All
Just come back on to check the posts and noticed my post from 2 days ago was still sitting on the screen!
So this is it from the second!!:
Hi All
Just a quick one to say hope everyone had a happy new year.
We went to my mums and watched the fireworks (I did - DH did not make it). Went to bed at about 1am but didn't drink much/ We took Kayley to the beach around 8.30pm and she loved sitting in the shallows and splashing. She watched the local fireworks at 9.30 then went off to bed (eventually). Slept well until 5am but eventually went back to sleep around 6.30 for another hour.
Back home now and our air-conditioner is broken and I am just sweating. It has been over 40 for a few days and it is sooo hot in here - no need to buy a sauna!!
Kimba - I wish we had a pool! We got some of those shells for xmas and might get Kayley in one later. Itis too hot to go to the normal pool and will be overrun by crazy kids. Kayley has 16 teeth now as well with a few only part way. Oh and she is speaking really well - coming out with all sorts of words. You are right I don't think she cares too much about walking and will just take it on one day!
Bec :hugs: for you. I hope everything is OK. One of my close friends bled with her first and the doctor said she had miscarried but she hadn't and he is now 7 years old. I hope you are that fortunate.
Well Kayley is awake (don't blame her as it is 30 degrees in her room - it is probably over 40 out here though).
Hope to get on later but we are going away this weekend and I am working the next couple of days so if I don't get on for a while all the best.
So back to the present....
Bec - I am so sorry - hope you keep well and there are no other complications.
Kayley and I are off to the docs this morning. She still has a temp and my throat is blown up like a balloon this morning. DH is off as well as we are supposed to be going away but he wouldn't even get up with her for me this morning - grrrrr.
Sarah and Kimba - congrats on the new cars. We are looking for a new one for DH which can fit a carseat in with not too much luck at the moment.
Sal,Sare - LOL on the baby talk!
Well sorry girls I have to run and give my whingy sick moo a cuddle!!:hugs:
Have a good one.
If one more thing goes wrong today I'm going to fall to the ground in a shuddering heap.
Had the u/s yesterday, nothing left in there so at least I don't need a d&c. Still cried all the way home. Then...
We were at the hospital last night with Ella with a mystery 40deg temp with no cause., so they had to keep her there for hours for observation. Eventually came home and had to watch her & keep her dosed up on Panadol all night, she was crying & coughing in her sleep too. DP got a days' work today which we couldn't knock back cos we're so broke, but we haven't paid his car rego yet so I had to drive him (40mins) then take Ella back to the hospital.
She has red ears & throat and a rattly right lung, but it's good they found a cause or we would have been sent to Canberra to start tests for meningitis!
Went to the chemist to get her medicine, and felt a big flow of blood start, so I was totally paranoid it'd be leaking through everything. Hadn't budgeted for emergency medicine for Ella so now we have $20 until next Thursday.
Got home and threw a load of nappies on, and the washing machine stopped mid cycle and threw the circuit, and I don't know how to fix the fuse.
And just then I had written all of that out and Ella deleted it because she won't let me put her down!
I have a visitor coming tonight for the weekend, I really want her to come so I have something to look forward to, but I don't want her to get sick, also I can't go and do the shopping (ie get some bread, milk and onions with my $20) because I can't face taking the two of us outside!
Sorry for the vent girls but I'm bloody miserable and wish DP was home. Wish my mum lived closer too.

Hey Bec....I wish so much I was closer I could come keep you company! You poor thing....vent away to us here all you like, and please please don't try to do too much. Does your friend know what has happened? Let her take care of you for the weekend so you can take it easy and take some time to heal. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:
:hugs: Aw, Bec....I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes after reading your post. I'm thinking of you, and only hope that your friend, as Sal said, can help you out, and look after you a bit. Don't worry about the small stuff, your friend will understand. Take it easy :hugs:
Big hugs Bec! Ask your friend to bring a few groceries, I'm sure she won't mind. Its a pretty normal thing for a guest to do.
Let her take care of you and help with Ella.
As for non-registered car, well, I'm bad and pay mine late all the time. I still drive it though, just not flauntingly past police cars or recklessly. Once you do pay the rego they backdate it to the date it was due, so technically your insurance should get backpaid too (at least that's my argument if I ever get caught out).
I'm glad Ella is okay and that it wasnt meningitis, now its time for you to go lie down, put a comforting movie on, and let Ella entertain herself around you.
More hugs comng your way Bec :hugs: :hugs: I'm glad the drs found out what was wrong with Ella. That would have been a mighty scary thing to have to go through, especially on top of everything else you have been through in the last few days.
Look after yourself (and your gorgeous girl too).
hey guys,
Thanks for the sympathy, it makes me feel so much better! Ella has just had a 3hr nap and is much chirpier. Also I have just sold some stuff on Ebay for about $50 more than I was expecting. A bit of good news to salvage my week.:)
Ha ha Michelle we live just off the Hume Highway, which is notorious for nasty highway patrol, so it just aint worth it!
My friend laughed when I asked if she could do the grocery shopping for me - she pointed out that we did live together for 2 years so it wouldn't be a problem!

Hi lovelies,
Just a quick wee pop in to say hi!
Bec - :hugs: love, i'm so sorry. Take care of yourself and have a great time with your mate. Loving your dp looking things up on the net, what a sweetie. I hope you have a nice quite weekend.
a yay for the new cars and hugs to any sick babies :hugs: though they're not really babies anymore are they?! and thanks kImba foe the ss pressie, it has been very popoular up here and Sophia walks around with the spade quite a lot.
Has anyone else noticed their bubbas have "special" hidey spots for "special" things that they find? Sophia has a couple of different spots and alternates what items go where, it seems to be a slightly worrying compulsive disorder :detective:;) Speaking of queer habits, she also likes to get dhs undies out his drawer and put them over her head and around her neck but ONLY the white ones, sometimes she has 5 or 6 pairs around her neck, of course I have some photos I will post soon.
Alright bbl, lots of love

Evening all, I am so tired I should be in bed, but it is so hot here I just cannot be bothered (specially since our bedroom is the hottest room in this cr@ppy (cr@ppy) oven of a house!)
Nedd has had the runs for the last few days so we have been fairly quiet. He is happy in himself and still eating/drinking well- just lots of yucky nappies.
Great work on the new cars Sarah and Kimba. We both have company cars here, which is great yes, but it means I never get to go car shopping! I am a bit jealous (although I know I shouldn't be!)
Bec, hope you are feeling better and that your DF and freind are looking after you. Glad to hear your arvo was getting better. Hey whats your username on ebay- I am such a junkie and always looking for new stuff!
Bummer for all the sick bubs and mums, it just doesn't seem fair to be sick at this time of the year does it?!?!
Oh and I must say a big thankyou to my secret santa (SUE!) Nedd loves loves loves his pressie- how did you know he is an obsessive ball thrower lol....we think he is going to be a baseball pitcher the way he flings them, so your pressie has certianly been a hit! :yelclap:
Nedd has started to identify body parts which is very cute- he has belly and nose done, now learning toes feet and eyes and ears, he is also getting the hang of pointing out other peoples nose and belly. It is very cute. :goodvibes:
We also found out over the week away that we have a very outgoing child who will need some lessons in caution! He was trying to give complete strangers kisses in the supermarket lines! He will go to absolutely anyone, and tends to wander off on his own tangent when we are out and about, although we are teaching him to hold hands now and he loves it. Today i spent about 30mins being dragged round the house with him holding my hand leading me places- he just comes up and takes you hand and drags you off, it is sweet!
I am also a bit concerned about his total LACK of caution with dogs. We have a massive gently giant who Nedd adores- but it means that he has no hesitation appraoching other dogs, and indeed seeks them out when they are nearby. It is a child like himself who would end up getting bitten if we don't start to teach him some caution. We were at a BBQ and he walked up to a dog that was tied up whilst waving a sausage in its face- needless to say the dog got rather agitated about being teased with the food......no idea how we teach him to be cautious though!
We have to go to melb tomorrow for my nephews 1st birthday- not sure why we are bothering though, what with the other 100 adults (and goodness knows how many children) there I am sure we wouldn't be missed! I mean seriuosly who has 100 people at a first birthday party?!?!? He will be one spoilt child!
We took Nedd to the beach for the first time whilst away- he is such a water baby, we had to watch him all the time as he just wanted to rush right in......plus we have been swimming lots- he is now at the stage where he voluntarily puts his face in the water to try and blow bubbles- it is very cute!
OK, well I might go plonk myself in front of the fan see if I can cool down some before attempting sleep.
Anyone got any good suggestions for books to read? I am all out of books at the moment and need some ideas of new ones to get- I read pretty much anything! :)
Hey guys,
Things are looking much sunnier today - Ella has no fever anymore, just a cough, and she slept pretty well too. It's SO lovely having my friend here, we had a couple (literally) of drinks last night and talked for hours, it was so good. We are just about to start marinating some chicken tikka (both foodies!) for tea mmmm.
Also the bleeding has nearly tapered off so I feel much better physically too. The doc wants me to have one more blood test on Monday "just to be safe" to make sure I don't need a D&C.
Sal we seem to have a bit in common - I'm also a book nut (my mum's a librarian so it seemed inevitable) and love Ebay! (username: framesgame, but unless you're a plus size beauty my stuff wont' be very interesting!) I'm watching a 99c wedding dress ATM, if it goes for not much I'll buy it just for all the lovely fabric, also it's in two pieces so I might be able to keep the skirt & get another top made up. Ahhh wedding!! Are you into fantasy books? Or chick lit?
hey Georgia, yes Ella likes to hide things under the couch cover on the floor. We found about 20 little animals there the other day! (stuffed, not live)
Better scoot, we're off to buy some chicken :)
Thanks again for the support guys, it really cheers me up that someone knows what I'm going through & is thinking of us!

Well, I just realised today that I hadn't got any new posts in my subscribed October thread... der it's a new month! I just caught up on the weeks worth of posts... phew.
Congrats Georgia :)
I am so sorry to hear of your loss Bec :hugs: hope you are surrounded by love and support over the coming weeks/months... however long you need it. Your DF sounds like a very thoughtful man to look information up
Well, after all that reading I don't have the energy to post! I'll get back on later and see what I can do!
Hey All
Bec - I am sorryyou had such a terrible day but I am glad Ella appears to be better and you have a friend to keep you company.
We went away this weekend down the coast to meet up with friends (some from Melbourne and it was good to catch up). Kayley and I nearly stayed home. Kayleys' fever had gone down mostly and the doctor gave her antibiotics again for another pussy throat. I was coming down with it on Friday but didn't have a temp or anything. Well Friday night I got really sick with a 39.5 degree fever and ended up in bed next to Kayley while everyone was having a great time. I couldn't sleep as I was too hot and got grumpy at DH for not being any hel p while Kayley took 1.5 hours to go to sleep. I struggled through Saturday on panadeine and panafen but had to have a rest in the arvo and threw up all my lunch. Couldn't sleep much last night eithe but at least kayley went strait to sleep. This morning when she woke up DH was just telling her to shut up (I think he had a hangover) so I got her up despite being yuck. I decided I need to come home early and drove home myself which wasn't really good and I had to stop for a while because I was feeling dizzy and my temp was sitting jsut under 40. I went to the doctor and apparently I have septic something in my throat and it is very bad and pussy. He gave me antibiotics and panadeine forte plus some stuff for my nausea but I am too scared to take the forte in case I don't hear Kayley (it normally knowcks me out).
On a positive side, Kayley was pretty good while away and enjoyed chasing my friends kids around. Ever since we have been home she keeps standing up by herself and taking a few steps between bits of furniture - she has been doind this for ages but not as much as today so maybe she has finally got the want to do it??
Anyway I am going to run and get an early night soon after I feed the pets. DH better help out tomorrow and let me rest as he wan't much help all weekend!
Sorry for my rant.
Have a good one everyone.
Well I feel like sh!te this morning. Lara has reverted back to night waking, but with an added bonus, the scream which is really much more than a scream, it's more of a wail with a scream. Of course, once she wakes up she screams blue murder until I pick her up. DH tried to settle her at 12.30am when she woke, but she just screamed and screamed, so he put her back in her cot. Which made her scream all the more. So I went down and tried to settle her in her cot, she wouldn't fall asleep and I was knackered, so I thought maybe if I put her in the port-a-cot next to our bed she'd be happy and fall asleep. BOY was I wrong. More of the high pitched screaming :hair: It was after 2.30am when I finally got her to sleep (in our bed).
I think the reason I'm feeling so cr@ppy, is that DH has been working in the garden on this bl00dy deck that's he's building for the last few weeks most nights after dinner and pretty much all of the weekends. Which means I've been left to do almost everything else and I've had absolutely no break from the girls. It's like I've totally lost what it means to be just me and the only thing that I am is mum to my 2 girls, whom I love immensely, but are driving me absolutely batty at the moment. A little sleep would go a long way to help the situation, but it's not looking likely that will happen in the near future with the way that Lara has been lately.
Ohhh and to top it off Lara's tantrums are getting worse. Yesterday she actually screamed and threw herself on the floor when I told her that she couldn't have Eloise's Rice Wheels (she's already eaten a pkt of her own). She is a handful and a half, my little miss.
Beck - Hope you are feeling better today and that your DH gives you more of a helping hand. It's tough being a mum just on regular days, but when you're sick it's nigh on impossible. And rant away (I just did...sometimes I feel like you guys are the only one's who I can do this to. DH just plain doesn't listen and most of my friends just see the happy smiley me and think everything's ace)
Bec - How are you going? I've been thinking of you this weekend. I hope you had a lovely time with your friend.
Sal - Good luck with teaching Nedd about strangers and dogs. Sorry don't have any ideas to help you out though. How was your nephews mega b'day party? 100 adults is ridiculous. I thought Lara's was OTT with just over 30 adults.
Sarah & Kimba - Congrats on the new cars. Sarah, I have the Territory Ghia and I absolutely love it. It's easily the best car that I've ever owned .
Better go and get my devils ready. We're off to Mum and Dad's for the day, so at least I will get a bit of a break.

Sare - i hear ya...and i only have one...sometimes it feels like you never get ME time...even just 10 minutes to relax in a bath or something....big :hugs:
i can't really complain at the moment....not about DP anyway and Keanu...they have both been pretty good of late...i am actually going to take some time for us as a family after xmas etc...i think it wears you down a bit, i mean it was great to see mum and dad and we havd a wonderful time, keanu loved them to bits!!!!
i do miss them
Hi all,
Sad tonight as my holidays are over and I have to return to work tomorrow, and I'm really going to miss Jet! :( I've only just gotten used to being with him 24x7 again, like it used to be before I went back to work last year...We've gotten into a good little groove with each other and he's been so happy, and now I have to leave him again *sniff sniff*
Sare if it's any consolation Jet's been sleeping really badly since before Christmas, he wakes at least twice a night and last night wouldn't resettle between 12-1. Lara's night screams sound like the night terrors that Jet has, where he just shrieks and won't calm down, and pushes me away like he doesn't know who I am, it's really unnerving but it's because he's not even awake (although he looks awake).
Bec I have been thinking of you heaps :hugs: and hoping that you had a good weekend with your friend and DP taking care of you. Sounds like you had quite a scare with Ella but I'm glad it turned out not to be anything too serious (it sounds a lot like the virus Jet had at Christmas)
Beck I hope you and Kayley are both feeling heaps better soon. Your DH sounds about as helpful as mine! (I.E. NOT!!!)
Everyone else sorry I don't have time for more personals, as I have to get off this laptop and get myself prepared for work tomorrow (yuck). But I hope you and your darling kids are all well and I'll catch up with you soon...
hi guys,
I'm home for two days as DP has picked up some work - probably just as well as I reckon if he goes straight back to shearing full time next week without a bit of a warm up... he'll be in so much pain! He wasn't going to go back to shearing, but it's such good money and the work's there - and if something else comes up, he'll be ready!
Kimba :hugs: to you when you go back to work. It's great that you've been able to have that time with him though. I had a great weekend thanks, a bit of healing time for all of us (she is also going through a messy breakup). Ella is so much better today too :smiliedance: Really we should just count ourselves lucky that we made it this far without her ever being really sick!
Hey Jackie - do you think we ever get over missing our parents? All our parents have had health scares so we're pretty conscious of wanting to spend lots of time with them. Mum is thinking of visiting tomorrow actually (I hope she does) How cute is that Keanu bossing the naughty cat around!
:hugs:, how awful for you with Lara's screaming. You may have to demand that DH watches them for a couple of hours while you go window shopping or something (or maybe he could take the girls to one of their many playdates so you can just couch it!) When Ella has a tanty she arches and throws herself backwards which I hate, as one day I'm not going to catch her in time and she'll crack her head really badly on slate or concrete:eek:
Beck more :hugs: to you and Kayley being so sick, that sounds terrible. Hope your DH gave you a rest yesterday. Glad Kayley is getting interested in walking! Nothing like some other kids running round for motivation!
Hi Pam - welcome to the new year
Better get some Ebay parcels sorted to take to the PO. Wonder what I can give Ella to keep her amused long enough to write 7 addresses on parcels??
Maybe Jet could pick up on my 'back to work tomorrow' vibes last night, coz he refused to go to sleep and I had to sit in his room from 7pm reading to him, rocking in the chair, going through and saying every word he knows, pulling faces, pointing to/ poking and naming facial parts, stroking my hair, rubbing noses etc for almost 2 hours...he finally went to sleep about 8.30. Was pretty cute...if not a bit draining!
Then he woke absolutely screaming blue murder at 2am and when I went to pick him up he was clawing at my face :(, kicking, headbutting, arching, and inconsolable...it really freaks me out when he's like that for no apparent reason...sometimes I wonder if he's 'not normal' IYKWIM?
Finally got him settled and then he did it again at 4.45am, again with the smacking and clawing at my face when I picked him up (what the???), refused to go back to his own bed, refused to sleep in my bed, and proceeded to kick, climb, wrestle, poke at my eyes and nose, kiss me, pull my hair, and bite my feet (hard) through the sheet (!?!) for the next 2 hours...
As horrible as it sounds, I was so exhausted and fed up and 'sick of the sight of him' by 7am :hair: that I was mighty glad to drop him at daycare and come to work...although now of course I feel awful and guilty for feeling cranky with him...
Question: Is anyone else's child smacking/ hitting/ clawing at them when they're upset??? We don't hit Jet, so I have no idea where this violence is coming from. I don't know if I should I be worried about him, or if it's 'normal'???
I don't know how to stop him from doing it, either. I usually just gently but firmly hold his hand still and look him in the eye and say 'NO', but it seems to have no effect, he just pulls it free and does it again (harder), or he headbutts instead! (hence my 'broken' nose last week...which is still sore, and black!)
Saying 'NO' also means nothing to him, he just smiles and keeps doing whatever he's doing OR he gets cranky and lashes out - either at us, or by smacking or throwing something, or having a tanty on the ground. Talk about Terrible Twos, I thought he was a bit young for that yet!
Anyway...that's my rant for the morning.
Hope you are all well and that you had a better night than I did!
GeorgiaAnne

Bollocks just typed a post and lost it and don't have time to re-write but basically said to Kimba and Sare, yes my girl is waking at night again and being a real tanty throwing, screeching when told no, slapping, biting and pinching mummy (only me?) Sorry, but i'm glad it's not just me lol.
Seriously though, I think it's pretty normal unfortunately.
Sare - Whaddya think about nature vs nurture as Eloise was pretty chilled wasn't she?
Hi guys,
Well it was another screaming match with Lara this morning. I wish I knew what was going on with her. DH and I have now decided no more into mummy and daddy's bed, as she seems to think this is where she is going. So we're going to try the chiro again (she's really restless and jerky in her sleep again) and put the blow up matress in her room in case we need to settle her. She seems to have completely forgotten how to self settle.
Kimba - Lara is exactly the same as Jet...pinching, screaming, slapping on the face, scratching. It's not fun is it? We don't smack her either. With Lara I think it evolved from getting a reaction (negative or positive to her doesn't matter, she thinks it's all funny). Saying no doesn't work for her either, but I've found that uh-uh in a bit of a louder voice stops her automatically, so I try to say no then uh-uh together so that she's getting the idea. :hugs: for your night last night too. And don't feel guilty about being glad that you dropped Jet of at daycare, I've had that feeling many-a-time with the girls.
Georgia - I was a big believer in nurture with Eloise, because she was so good I thought it must have been all the good vibes/stuff we were doing. Well, we've been pretty much the same with Lara (maybe even more easygoing) and look where that's landed us! Lara is pretty much the polar opposite of Eloise. So nature must play a big part too. Hopefully your #2 bubba won't give you all the hard time with sleep that you've had with Sophia.
Bec - Glad to hear that you had a good weekend with your friend, it sounds like her company was exactly what you needed. Great news about Ella being all better too.
Jackie - 10 mins in the bath would be divine...Hope you enjoy your family time with just the 3 of you.
Well hope you all have a great day. We're having a quiet one at home with just a quick trip to the shops to get some fish for dinner.
Sorry, but i'm glad it's not just me lol.
Amen to that! :hugs: As always it's so good to come on here and hear that a few others are going through the same thing - even though I wouldn't wish it on anyone else of course! LOL.
I was also a bit guiltily worried that maybe Jet was acting like this because of anxiety/ stress from being in daycare :o :( so in that sense it's also a relief to hear that even babes who are home with Mum (I.E. Miss Feisty Lara!) are the same...
I know we'll be really proud of our spirited, assertive, smart, independent, strong-willed, adventurous, brave offspring one day: I just have to remind myself that this 'phase' is all a part of that! (and in the meantime learn to keep my face out of 'striking' distance, LOL)
Sare the self-settling is hard isn't it, I know that Jet still knows how to do it because he does it all the time when it suits him! but he's so much more assertive and demanding now when he doesn't want to sleep or be alone, he just won't give in...sometimes I would just leave him, except the screaming gets so bad that the neighbours would call DOCS on me I'm sure!
I'm still really baffled by the screeching and hitting at me though, you'd think that if he wants me to come and get him then he'd be happy to be picked up? I'm hoping it'll be easier when he can actually tell me what's wrong...
Jackie I agree, a 10 minute bath sounds like heaven :cloud9: GREAT IDEA! I might do just that when I get home tonight...
GeorgiaAnne
08-01-2008, 15:02
:hugs: Sare, sorry you had another bad night, as did we. It is quite baffling when they seem to turn a corner and then go downhill again. I guess all you can do is rule out illness/teething and anything else and hope it will end soon :fingerscrossed:
I tell you what, I really need to start writing lists as I am sooo forgetful which I think must be pg thing. Keep your :fingerscrossed: for me as I have a dating u/s tomorrow.
:hair: More dramas and screaming tonight at bedtime. Geez Jet's stroppy at the moment! In the end I was getting really frustrated so I had to put him in his cot and walk away, and leave him to yell himself to sleep :( I really HATE doing that, it makes me feel absolutely rotten! but he didn't want to be consoled by me anyway... so I'd rather walk away and leave him, than lose it myself! :(
I know that this is all part of 'normal' toddler behaviour but I've just been doing a bit of reading about links between food and behaviour like tantrums, defiance, difficulty sleeping, night waking & terrors etc, so I'm thinking of trying Jet on a failsafe diet to see if it makes a difference to him or not. I figure it's worth a try? hate to think that it's something I'm giving him that could be affecting him...
Anyone else tried something like this?
Georgia - LOL at the preg brain, mine never improved post-partum, so I imagine it will only get worse with pregnancy #2!
Kimba - SNAP! Lara's already awake and screaming :hair: I think it's a combination of things with her. Her bottom molars feel like they are about to cut through and her shoulder is clicking like crazy, so maybe it's out of alignment again, but worst of all is that she won't self-settle. I hope Jet's (and your) night improves.
Can't help you with the failsafe diet, I've never heard anything about it, but I'd be interested in hearing how you go.
Georgia - GL for the ultrasound tomorrow. I hope Sophia sleeps well for you tonight.
 everyone,
I've been MIA the last couple of days...lucky me, I somehow mangaged to pick up some of Gastro infection over the weekend. I was so crook, it was horrible. Don't know if it was all magnified because I'm pregnant, but gee, I sure don't wish it upon anyone! Had a maxalon shot at the Dr's and it seemed to help, but not stop. I'm feeling a lot better now, just back to the old pregnancy nausea caper.....which I wish would leave me alone now I'm almost 15 weeks!!
Had a really busy day today....left the house at about 10.30am and didn't get back here until 6.45pm tonight! DH had some business to attend to in Melb before his flight left at lunchtime, so I thought we'd go for the drive, drop him off, then stop off at DFO on the way home to do a spot of shopping - over $500 later, we were all completely shopped out, and ready for home....I actually had all 3 boys asleep for most of the trip home!! The only downside to that was that I have only got M & T into bed within the last 1/2 hr!
Sorry about all the non sleeping talk - I can't really offer much advice at the moment. M used to be a shocking sleeper, waking many times a night, then spening the rest of it with us, but luckily for me, T and J have been, and are, wonderful sleepers, and my 'bad sleeping memories' have been pushed from my brain - not enough room for them in there, lol!!
Kimba: The diet sure does work!! I tried it with the boys and it does make a difference. They were easier to talk to, they followed routine without a hassle, etc. There are a lot, and I mean a lot of foods that I was recommended to stop, but it did work. *stops to think about WHY it is we are not still following this* I hope being back at work hasn't been too bad for you...Dh is also back at work tomorrow after being here with us for 3 weeks. I think he's really going to feeling it too - as are the boys.
Bec: Good to hear that your weekend was an okay one. I hope you're using these couple of days for a bit of R & R now!
Georgia: Hope all goes well with the scan tomorrow!
Sare: I'm so with you! I don't even know what I like doing anymore, lol!! I know I like the idea of many things, but I never actually get to do any of them! Even when DH is here, I still feel like I'm running around like a headless chook most of the time, while he's out at his mates, or playing the Wii, etc. I love the idea of a warm bath...if only I could be bothered at the end of yet another busy day to actually get it all ready!! I think we should all make a resolution together - to spend some time, each day, alone, doing what it is we want to do, without the interruption from others.
I'm off to bed, I'm totally knackered tonight.
Oh, I think I'm picking the new car up tomorrow!! I'd better be, I want it, lol!
Have a good nights sleep all :goodvibes:
Sarah
I feel barely human this morning :sleeping:last night was another fiasco. Took 1.5 hours to get Jet to bed. Then he woke screaming at 10.30, then again at 12 and wouldn't go back to sleep till 2 :hair:, and woke this morning at 5.30 (but I ignored him till 6.30). He looks as exhausted as I feel.
His last bottom molar (which was already through) is really swollen and looks sore so I'm sure that's part of it, and he seems to be a bit constipated (hard pebble poos) plus the heat/ humidity would make it hard for anyone to sleep...and he banged his head AGAIN yesterday so he probably had a headache too...
It's just so hard because in the night he only wants ME (won't have a bar of DH, who just snaps at him and stresses him out), cries every time I put him back into his cot, but if I take him into my bed with me he won't even sleep there, just fidgets and wriggles and ends up wide awake and wanting to wrestle and play, so neither of us get any sleep. I can't even just give in and send him off to play by himself, oh no, I have to be physically involved (IE sat on, wrestled, chewed, etc).
I think the worst thing is that from me being so tired and frustrated, I end up feeling angry and resentful with him, and really I don't like feeling that way
I am definitely downloading all the failsafe diet info today and implementing a trial to see if it helps even just a little bit...all I want is for both Jet and I to get some better sleep, so that this isn't affecting my relationship with him...wish me luck! :fingerscrossed:
Georgia - GL with your scan today how exciting! I remember how nervous I was at my first one...gosh it feels so long ago now...
Sare - commiserations on Lara, I hope your night didn't get any worse from there :hugs:I will definitely let you know how the diet goes!
Sarah - Gotta love DFO for shopping! sorry you've been unwell I hope you're 100% again soon. My MS didn't fade till 16 weeks from memory so maybe it won't be much longer for you. Thanks for the feedback about the diet, you've convinced me that it's at least worth a try. It does look a bit hard to follow - especially when we rely on so many processed foods, Jet loves his dried fruit and other snacks - but hopefully it's worth it...:fingerscrossed:
I'm getting beaten up too. I'm a battered mother, woe is me. She just loves that I react. Mum says I should smack her back harder, but when I tried smacking her hand at 6 months when she discovered power points she thought it was funny. It would be downright hilarious now.
Ive only gotten my displeasure through to her once, when she slapped me in the face and I grabbed her hands and looked her in the eye and said 'no. Never, ever hit mummy'. Something in my tone must have rang danger bells as she stopped for a couple days. But of course, the next time I reacted in the usual way, ducking away and saying NO, so its fun again.
Kimba - I havent tried the failsafe diet, but I have problems with colours and sulfites so we avoid them anyway. She gets plenty of artificial stuff still and I'd like to reduce it even more. Gotta say though, god bless the natural confectionary company!
Good luck with it, its almost impossible to stay hard core failsafe, but if you can identify key culprits now you will save yourself a lot of headaches when he's older.
Sarah - glad the gastro has passed without visiting the boys! I cant believe you took them all to dfo for the day. Thats just my idea of torture, watching them, making sure they dont wander off, touch everything, complain all day.... You must have them very well trained!
Sare - hope the chiro does the trick again!
Abbey is being a naughty sleeper too, but nowhere near as bad as Jet & Lara. She just thinks 2am is a great time to play and I have to hold her down and pull her back into sleeping position when she gets away. It takes about an hour. You know I only co-sleep out of laziness don't you? I just flop my arm over her and doze off while she squirms and wriggles. If she's especially intent on not lying still I just wrap my arm around her so she can roll and change positions, but not get away. If she kicks I just pin her between mine. Haha, its an abuse of the AP concept!
Not sure how it will work when the nights get really toasty though. At the moment she still sleeps in a 0.5tog bag so her squiggles are constrained automatically.
I taught Abbey how to play duck duck goose. Modified of course. I sit on the floor and she runs around me in circles saying 'duh duh duh duh' and I say duckduckduck and when I say it really fast she tackles me and leaps into my lap giggling and I yell goose. Its going to be hilarious when she goes to kindy and plays it wrong. It will be duckduckduckduck TACKLE and she will get a time-out!

Just had my dating scan and all is well. It was about 9 days off my lmp edd which is good to know!
bbl....
Aaargh - seems like I have glandular fever. Have been at the hospital last night today with drips in my arms and steriods to help reduce my throat infection a bit after the antibiotics left me with a red rash all over. The Joy. On the good side Kayley apparently had a really good day at childcare today playing with the other kids (which she doesn't ordinarily do) and eating up at the big table although it was after holding on at the ankes when she got left there. Well I am not going to do any personals and try and get some zzzzs. Best wishes to you all.
Today we started seriously on Jet's additive-free diet, cutting out all chemicals and additives (no colours, artificical flavours, preservatives, sulfites, benzoates, even basic supposedly innocent things like bonjela/ brauers/ nurofen, etc). Not the full failsafe diet just yet, because I'm still sussing out the details, it looks so hard! but I will go that route if I have to, even if it's just to figure out what (if any) Jet's triggers are.
I've switched to A2 milk as well, to see if that makes any difference at all.
When you look into it, it's shocking how much 'normal' and even 'natural/ healthy' food has additives in it which can apparently really affect kids...even plain old bread, yogurt, and cheese
Anyway I made sure his food today had no additives at all, and it's probably too early to tell but he was definitely a bit calmer this afternoon than the last couple of days, and bedtime definitely wasn't as much of a drama (thank god). Although I also kept him up an hour later to make sure he was really tired! which caused issues in itself - like insisting on taking his blanky into the bath then having a tantrum because it got all wet  He was a bit anxious about me leaving him in his cot, but at least we didn't have the lengthy screaming match of the last 2 nights.
He's just had a night terror now though :( (god I HATE them! I feel so helpless because there's nothing you can do!) but resettled pretty quickly so I'm hoping for a better night than last night...:fingerscrossed:
Georgia glad to hear that all went well with your scan  is your new EDD 9 days sooner or later?
Michelle LOL at the beaten mother thing - I've lost count of my Jet-induced bruises and scratches! I wish I could co-sleep as a lazy measure and believe me I try - but every time I just lay there and ignore him or try to hold him still, he just gets more and more lively and won't leave me alone, so I end up worse off...
Anyway I'm off to bed in the hope I'll get a few hours sleep in a row tonight!
Hopefully all your kids behave themselves and we ALL get a decent sleep...
ETA - Beck - glandular fever oh no you poor thing! I hope you get over it real soon :hugs: Yay Kayley for being a good girl at daycare let's hope she keeps that up.
:hugs: BecK. You poor thing. There's not much you can do for GF, is there? Hopefully you get over it soon.
Kimba - Wow, Jet really is giving you a difficult time at the moment. I hope this diet works for him and that tonight is a better night for you all. Oh and I just wanted to let you know that my DH is the same with Lara when she's upset and screaming, he gets all worked up and then yells at her for being upset. As if that will help the situation. What is it with these men?
Georgia - Glad that all went well at the u/s today. I was wondering the same as Kimba...hoping for your sake it's made your EDD 9 days earlier, but I'm sure you said that you'd o'd later, which would make it 9 days later.
Michelle - LOL at duck duck goose. Co-sleeping would be nice if we could all actually sleep when Lara's in bed with us, but unfortunately she is such a restless sleeper, she twists, turns, headbutts, kicks all night long. Also Eloise has decided that she's missing out, so she occasionally comes down too. This morning (it was still dark, and I was too tired to look at the clock), she said "Mummy, I want to come in your bed. I don't want to be lonely in my bed" :( How could I argue with that? Tonight we had a little chat along the lines of you don't come to m&d's bed unless it's light outside or unless you're not feeling well. Aren't I a meanie?
Sarah - So how/when did Mack become a good sleeper? Share your secrets...and please don't tell me it was when he started kinder and that made him extra tired, I can't wait another 2 years  Hope you are feeling better now. I've been meaning to ask (after seeing your status on facebook) are you finding out the sex of the baby? Got my :fingerscrossed: that you get your bundle of pink this time (but I know that you'd love another boy just the same).
Well our night last night wasn't too bad. After I finally got Lara settled and back into bed at 11pm (she was sleeping restlessly in my arms) she slept through till just after 8.30am. Today she slept for 3hrs, so I have my :fingerscrossed:, as well as everything else, crossed that she sleep well tonight. She's already woken once, so hopefully that is it for the night.
Not much planned for tomorrow. 41deg so I plan on blasting the air con and staying inside. I'm so not a fan of summer...roll on autumn I say.
Night all. Hope everyone sleeps well
Apart from another godawful night terror at 3.30am (which is unusual, usually there's only one a night and much earlier in the night) last night was much better, I even got to sleep until 7am today so I feel half human. Yay!
He's having his A2 milk and a completely additive & preservative free day again today, so let's see how we go tonight :fingerscrossed: I'm really hoping that this will make a difference - I'm ever the optimist!!!
Jet was quite happy and affectionate this morning, although he clung to my neck and then actually cried when I left him at daycare, which he's never done...Makes me feel so mean to just walk away, when I can hear him crying...:( I think he's got a bit of separation anxiety going on at the moment, which could also explain some of the issues when he can't get to sleep and just wants me nearby...
Sare - glad to hear that Lara has settled down a bit for you. She sounds exactly like Jet, the way she won't settle in your bed and nobody gets any sleep if she's in there! Very cute of Eloise to want to join you, and I don't think it's mean to set the 'ground rules' of when it's OK to come to your bed - kids like and need boundaries don't they? LOL.
It's sticky and yucky enough here in Sydney today so I feel very sorry for you Melbournians with the 42 degree heat! :iagree: staying inside with the aircon on sounds like a great plan Sare.

awww i must be really seriously *thinking* of putting keanu in to childcare for a day as i just rang a place (where my nephews go) to go and have a look, and just had a bit of a chat....awww...it would only be for 1 day a week, i think he would like the social interaction as he loves kids and doesn't get it much....i dont think he'll care that i'm not there either!!
but in a way letting go is hard (especially when i REALLY don't have to do it...BUT i think HE would love it...)...
:(
Jack - I'm sure Keanu will love going to daycare. I don't HAVE to send my two older boys either, but I do, and they love it! They have made many firends there, and I think they do actually enjoy the time away from me, lol!
Sare: It wasn't until Mack was about 3 that he started sleeping in his own bed, and then it's really only been the last 12 months (if that), that he's stayed there all night!! It's hard, I know, but I just had to get mean, really mean, 1 night and perservered until we had it right! Good luck! We are unsure if we will find out what we are having. I have my 20 week scan on Feb 14, so still a few weeks to decide. DH doesn't want to, as he's convinced it's another boy and says he doesn't need it confirmed, lol, but I think I'd like to know either way. Right now though, I'm not too fussed about knowing/not knowing what it is, I just need to know that all is good!
Beck: :hugs: You poor thing having glandular fever....you must be feeling like crap? Hope it all settled down soon, and you're back to feeling normal again!
Kimba: Good on you for giving the diet a go! I hope you get really great results from it. I feel for little Jet (and you) with his night terrors - poor little chap.
Georgia: Good to hear that all is well with the new one! From the scan, what dates have they given you?
Michelle: There were a lot of mean looks, iykwim :o, towards the children when they became unsettled at DFO! Just a quick glance was all it needed to get them back into line, lol! T was pretty good if I allowed him to walk in the shops, then sit in his pram between shops....and a little bribing never goes astray, lol!
I picked up our new car late yesterday afternoon :smiliedance: The boys were so excited as they hadn't seen it, and just wanted me to take them for a drive. Mum drove them home in my now old car, as I wasn't going to mess around with changing the seats over at the car yard! You're right Sare, it's gotta be the best car I've driven yet!! I love it!!
15 weeks today - can't believe where the time's gone! I'm feeling a lot better these past 2 days, so :fingerscrossed: this means the end of my pregnancy nausea for good!
I'm locked inside this afternoon, with the air con on, due to it being so bloody hot outside!! I really want to take my car for a spin later on, so might head down to Torquay before picking the boys up from daycare!
Have a good day, Sarah

Hiya,
Yeah, I didn't make that very clear did I?! My actual edd is 4th September but my lmp one was 26th August which I knew was wrong, hence the scan
Jack - I'm all for day care, Sophia loves it! I think she missed her little friends while we were away! Good luck and enjoy the day to yourself.
Sarah - Why does your dh think it's a boy? What do you think?
Kimba - Poor old Jet, I hope this diet does some wonders, sounds pretty good, there is soo much rubbish in food that we but, I'm a bit an@l about what I buy too.
Sare - re: Eloise, you're not a meanie at all. My parents used to have a blood line and we weren't allowed to come in unless there was blood. Apart from one time when my brother hit his head and passed out but there no blood lol, it was a dilemma for us!

thanks girls for your opinions...guess we go next week and see if it is as good as everyone says!!
Georgia: Dh is convinced it's a boy because -
* we already have 3 boys
* he is 1 of 5 boys
* there has only been 1 girl born into the family in the past 65 years
I don't really know how I feel. I mean, it's not like I have the 'instinct' that many mums say they have when they say they 'just know' what it is. I've been feeling different, like sicker for longer, and I'm having horrible issues with pimples on my chest and around my chin, but other than this, I have no idea what I'm carrying!! I'll be happy with a boy or a girl!!
Morning all!
Sal how are you guys going with the fires down there, not too close to you I hope?
We had no night terrors last night YAY :yelclap:. Took 2 hours to get Jet to bed though, he just couldn't go to sleep. Wasn't cranky or throwing tantrums, just getting more tired and upset and didn't want me to leave him. I was in and out of his room so many times, reading and rocking him, and every time I thought he'd gone to sleep he'd be crying in frustration again 10 min later. I ended up laying on the floor in his room and letting him play around me, until he came and lay next to me and snuggled up, then finally I got him into his cot and asleep...
At least it was a much better night after that, he stirred at 10 and I stroked his hair and he went straight back to sleep, then he woke crying for milk at 2.50am (I think DH probably woke him when he left for work) and after a bottle and a bit of a cuddle he resettled and slept through till 6.30 (which is good for us at the moment!)
I know Separation Anxiety has something to do with all this too, because he's OK and drifting off in his cot when I'm there, but freaks out as soon as I leave the room, and he hasn't been like that since he was quite small. He's also very clingy at daycare dropoff, and his carer told me that he's been wanting his blanket during playtime too (usually he only has it to sleep) which is a big SA 'sign'. Poor little man.
Can I just be boring and say how annoying it is to find 'bad' food additives in things like Fruity Weetbix! Gosh you think things are healthy, and they still sneak in all these nasties...I had to toss out so much food this week that I assumed was 'healthy' for kids (cheestiks, yogurt, bread, weetbix, spaghetti...it goes on!)
Sarah - how exciting to have your new car! :yelclap: We pick ours up tomorrow, and it's a bit exciting, but can't help wishing it was a Territory or a Subaru Outback, LOL. Gosh imagine another boy - what a wild tribe you'll have then! If it is a girl she'll either be a total tomboy, or a little pretty princess doted on and protected by her big brothers - either way, very cute. I don't think I could 'not' find out the gender. I keep saying I don't want to know for #2, but I bet when the time comes, I'll cave in...
Georgia - LOL at the blood line! Did your parents revise the rule to include 'passing out' after that incident? So you're having a Virgo, my sympathies  I can say that because I'm surrounded by them (DH, Dad, SIL)
Jack - I agree with the others, I bet Keanu would love 1 day at daycare. Jet loves the other kids - even when he's a bit clingy with me when I drop him off, he's fine as soon as the other kids arrive! And he never wants to leave when DH picks him up. It's good for mums too I think, to have a bit of time for themselves and rest or get things done.
All righty better get some work done, hope you all had a good night's sleep last night, and have a great day today.
Morning girls,
We had another shocker of a night here last night. The heat may have been the biggest contributer, but Lara's pretty much like Jet with the separation anxiety thing happening too. I just keep on thinking that she's not going to be wanting to be rocked to sleep forever. Her sleeplessness has definitely postponed the thought of ttc #3. We want lots of good nights sleep before we go back to the stage of having a newborn again, especially if it could be more like Lara than Eloise.
Sal - Hope you're ok too. It doesn't look like it's going to be a good day for the firefighters, it's so windy already. Hope nobody else is effected by them.
Kimba - Glad to hear that Jet didn't have any night terrors last night. Hopefully his new diet will do the trick.
Georgia - Might have to add the blood line to Eloise's spiel.
Sarah - Glad you're enjoying your new car. What colour did you get? Did you find out what you were having with the boys at your 20 week scan? We didn't find out for either of the girls, but Michael thinks he would like to if we were to have another. I'm not too sure.
Jackie - I bet Keanu would love daycare too. Sometimes I wish I had done it with Eloise, but we have that many other things on, that we probably would have found it hard to fit it in. She's off to kinder in 2.5 weeks, so at least she'll soon get the benefits of that.
Sal, you asked for a good book to read a few weeks ago. I just finished The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen. It was the first book of hers that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It's a crime fiction that changes between the 1800's and present day. I read it in 2 days (Lara kept me up at night, so I'd read whenI was settling her), I just couldn't wait to see how it all tied together. If you like the crime/anthropology stuff, I enjoyed the new Kathy Reichs one (can't stand the TV show though) I thinkl it was called Bones to Ashes.
Better go...a sink full of dirty dishes is calling me.
Sarah - Glad you're enjoying your new car. What colour did you get? Did you find out what you were having with the boys at your 20 week scan? We didn't find out for either of the girls, but Michael thinks he would like to if we were to have another. I'm not too sure.
We have Kashmir (the silvery gold, not the orange gold). I love the colour...DH doesn't like it, but said that he's not the one driving it, so it didn't bother him too much, lol! Re: Fidning out. We found out with M, then didn't find out with T, and found out again with J. So, I guess this time we SHOULDN'T find out to keep the pattern going, lol!
The fires are sort of halfway between me and Sal, if they're the ones being referred to. About 40 minutes or so from where I am. Unfortunatley, it is VERY windy today, and I'm guessing it's not helping matters!
J is being a grumpy bum and must need help to go to sleep today, so best be off and do that before he drives me batty with his carry on, lol!
Bring on the cool change, I say!!
Sarah
Kimba, my nose hurts! I got headbutted and its all bruised but not broken. Jet has been whispering to Abbey, hasn't he?
I got a cut lip last week thanks to a bear trying to climb through my chin on her way up the mountain.
Her headbutting isn't like her smacking, she just has a fat head.
How's the failsafe going? I saw the photo of Jet eating a fairy bread and laughed out loud - show him how tasty the bad stuff can be and then take it away!
Oh great. I'm a terrible mother. Abbey has a bruise under her eye coming up nicely. We are not having a good day. She didn't agree that I was done reading MY book and did some sort of weird desperation dive to claim it, and face planted the edge of the couch.
I'm eager for the SA to pass too. She even comes in from outside play on her own now, just because I've stepped in to grab something. Cant bear to be apart from Mummy, even when she has a cool distraction like outdoors.
I bought a new tv, just a cheapy from a discount shop. Sadly Abbey has become accustomed to the Mummy Show instead.
Sarah - 1 girl in 65 years?? That is a lot of manly swimmers. Its a mystery! But you never know, there is still a chance for pink. Just think of all the shopping you would get to do
Jackie - I'll be interested to hear how your meeting goes with childcare, I was thinking maybe 1/2 day a week for Abbey (if you can do half days). But im not sure, I would just use it to clean the house which I'd rather say I cant do because Abbey won't let me.
happy new year everyone
hope all is well i just wanted to say hello montanah is doing wellwalking and now has 5 big chompers we are so happy to see he back to normal she is still tiny only 8.45kg but is getting there
talk to u all soon
Well it only took an hour to get Jet to bed tonight  which I suppose is a 50% improvement on a few days ago, but still...boy do I miss being able to just put him in his cot, say 'ni-night' and leave him to peacefully go to sleep! Instead he just cries as soon as I even look like leaving the room. SA is a b1tch isn't it? I have to wonder how much this has to do with me spending 2 weeks at home with him, then going back to work...
Jet has a few new words - moo, ball, bird, book, nose (which he says gleefully as he pokes his finger up your nostril), and tonight as I was holding him he was grunting and straining and I said "hey, did you poo?" and he looked right at me and said "POO!" and grinned  then kept saying it. Poo. POO! I wonder if that one will stick...tonight he also started putting his finger to his lips and saying 'shhh' when I do it. Pretty cute. It's like he comes up with all these new things to bribe me not to make him go to bed!
Lesley - happy new year to you too, I'm so glad to hear that Montanah is doing so well, after all she went through.
Michelle - ouch, commiserations on your nose! I've copped a few headbutts on my cheekbones this week too, so I'm covered in bruises right now, I should take photos of them to load Jet up with motherguilt one day! He actually didn't like the fairybread (that was his first time I think), he tossed it aside just after I took that photo...LOL.
Oh and the diet seems to be going OK so far! We aren't doing the full failsafe for now (IE cutting down on salicylates and amines etc) just cutting out all additives and preservatives...Jet does seem a lot calmer and more relaxed after a couple of days (except at bedtime ) but that could be a complete coincidence of course! Only time will tell I guess, and in the meantime it surely can't hurt him.
Sarah - hope that the cool change came through and settled Jarvis down for you
Sare - I hear you on sleeplessness putting you off TTC. Right now I totally feel like I don't want any more kids, Jet is more than enough (as is 15 months of broken sleep...)

Hi all...sorry I have been MIA, slack I know!
But have been flat out back at work this week- my new years resolution was to "work hard" which means no more lazing in front of bubhub when I should be doing admin! After having a wonderful two weeks off with my little man I was so sad to return to work. It was actually harder for me this time, than when I returned from maternity leave. Nedd was really just a baby then- not so much interaction, now I have an absolute blast with Nedd, he is such a gorgeous natured, laid back, funny little man. Nothing seems to be too much bother, I really have felt absolutely blessed over this time to realise what a special child we have! Valentine Valentine
**That is until tonight, when I was well and truely initiated into motherhood, after Nedd was still chatting in his cot an hour after he went down I went to check- only to discover one pooey child, with undone nappy, and poo everywhere!!!!! :barf: It was revolting!
We are all ok here, the fires as Sarah said are about half way between us both, so a bit smoky and hazy but nothing major- though we have had "elvis" the water helicoptor flying over us all day yesterday so that was pretty cool, Nedd loved it!
And the heat- YUCK is all I can say, in this dodgy old house it became an oven yesterday, not nice. Sadly my daycarers house is even worse, so Nedd was not happy yesterday. He went to daycare not his usual happy self- but came home even worse, with a 39 temp and very listless and unhappy, totally off his dinner (not normal lol) and clingy. She told me chickenpox had been doing the rounds, but he seems ok today, so hopefully it was just the hot weather.
But it made for a unhappy time trying to get him to sleep- we ended up with him wide awake at 11pm, sitting up watching a bit of telly just to get him sleepy enough to go back down. Poor thing was just so uncomfortable.
But sounds like that is tame compared to the fun some of you have been having- KIMBA, SARE, and GEORGIA, sorry to hear you have been having struggles with the sleeps. I was exhausted today just from last night. :hugs:
I have a busy time ahead- hens night tomorrow night, BBQ lunch in melb sun, then fly over to WA mon morning, I am there till thurs night. So sad to be away from Nedd. Then we are away from him again next sat night for a wedding, the week after I have 3nights in syd (out in the sticks girls, so won't be able to catch up)....I am totally dreading this year ahead already as I am going to have to do so much travel for work. I just have to keep telling myself it is only one more year- hopefully I will be preggers and going on maternity leave not too far into 2009.
Beck- I am sorry to hear you are sick lovey, try to take care of yourself- and tell the DH of yours to put in a bit of effort- GF is terrible, and it can hang around for a long time can't it? :hugs: But I am glad to hear Kayley is settling into daycare better. Oh and hey I just founf out I am coming to Adelaide in may for a conference- so I can come visit! Yay!
Michelle, Kimba and Sare (and anyone with a 'spirited' child)- I have been doing a similar thing when Nedd is "violent"- getting down to his level and looking in his eyes whilst saying no- it has been working really well for us, touch wood! I have been doing it modified 'the nanny' style. His fave and one of the first words he said- no idea where from! is Hitting us and saying "don't", even when we arent doing anything! He also throws things (ie trains, cars etc etc) at our head.....but thats really the extent of it from our placid child.
Sarah- Wow on the record of girls in your DH's family....if you have a girl she is going to be one spoilt little princess, lucky thing! Oh and if it means anything, I put my money on a girl for you!
OK this has turned into a marathon...so I will leave you all in peace for another night.
Hope the little people all sleep well! :flowerz:
omg its so hot here rite now
i thought i was the only one thats baby had started head butting i thought it was some thing she had leant from day care or the older kids and sleeping well
that is the biggest of all she screams the house down but only 4 about 10mins and the is asleep till morning
has anyone else had a problem getting ther babys to drink a bottle?
she whent from dinking 3 x 175ml bottles last weekend to now she wont even have one 50ml bottle she will have just water in her sippe bottle
well i have to go grub has made a huge lunch mess
ttyl
Hi all, well last night was not too bad! Jet woke crying at 9.30 which took a bit of settling, then woke again at around 4am and after a bottle didn't want me to leave him, but resettled after just a wee grizzle, thank goodness...
BUT he was then up again for the day at 5.45  thank god it was Saturday and DH actually got up and let me sleep in a bit
Tonight at bedtime we still had screams when I put him in his cot and tried to leave him, but it only took 2 trips back into his room and around 30min to get him to sleep tonight, so that's another 50% improvement on last night! :yelclap: I just hate seeing him so upset, but as frustrating as it all is, as long as it keeps improving then I'm happy...
We picked up our 'new' car today and after everything was signed off, we went to drive away and noticed there was a black paint splatter on the drivers door that DH and I are both 99% sure wasn't there when we first looked it over and did a test drive (the car is silver so surely we would have noticed it). The dealer didn't say that it was definitely always there (hmmm) but insisted that it couldn't have possibly happened on the lot in the last week though, so it 'must have already been like that'...suss...but it's our word against his...
It's only cosmetic but it'll affect resale value later, and anyway that's not the point - what really annoyed me was their disinterested attitude once the keys were handed over, like 'well you've bought it now, too bad, we don't give a sh1t'. To add insult to injury when we got home we found that the spare remote thingy doesn't work either, which is really annoying as it's a 80min round trip drive back to the dealer to get that fixed :banghead:
I'm pretty p1ssed off so I've decided I'm going to write a letter to the manager asking to see the photos of the car that they used on the 'for sale' ad (to see if the paint is visible in those photos - who knows, maybe we did miss it!?) or asking them to prove that the paint was there before we bought it, and if they can't prove that, then I want some money back or the first major service free. Worth asking anyway!
Anyway :ecomcity:
Lesley - OMG the headbutts are fun aren't they! Jet has gone off his bottle a bit too, but I think that's only because he associates it with bedtime and he's refusing everything to do with going to bed at the moment! I was thinking it might be a good opportunity for me to wean him off it at last...although he still won't drink milk from a cup, only water.
Sal - YUCK on the pooey cot! Nedd sounds like such a darling, sometimes I wish Jet was just a bit more laidback like that...although I love my little man loads, sometimes it's just a bit draining! I don't know how you handle doing all that travel and being away from him, it must be so hard for you...but like you say, if you put in the hard yards now, you can reap the rewards later.
Hope that everyone gets a decent sleep tonight...!!!
Hello lovely ladies and babies.
Yes we were MIA again.....
I have quickly read through most posts but am now having trouble with my eyeballs.
Deepest sympathy Bec. A friend of mine who was due at the same time miscarried but is now 12 weeks and has her first scan and all is well. I truely hope things work out....
We are all moved and things are settling ok. I have had a very emotional week and spent nearly all day everyday in tears. Only because John flew back to the GC to finish packing and cleaning and to drive my 16 year old, heart broken daughter back.
Talk about feeling useless. There was so much cleaning to do but no way I could do it. So he worked all day then went home and cleaned half the night. I will be so happy tomorrow when they arrive - around 1pm.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. Ours was the quietest I have ever known but as John said it was enjoyable because this year will be extremely different..
The twins are beating the living daylight out of me on a regular basis. Pain is my new best friend. I didn't realise 2 full size babies would weigh so much at 29 weeks (der me ha ha).
I have grand plans each day but at the moment getting up and watching Adam wears me out lol.
My precious little pumpkin is just being the most adorable little person on the planet and some days he makes me cry just because I love him so much. He has soooo many funny little habits and is still the biggest charmer out. I think the older kids have spoilt him (ha ha not me!!!!)
We are technically due at end of Marh but if we go around 36 weeks that means we only have 7 weeks to go.....gee whiz. Are we ready?????? Guess that doesn't matter now.
And yes to whoever asked John did have the snip but his last test (a week ago) he is still shooting live little swimmers. After nearly 5 months. The dotor is shocked but reckons they should be gone soon. He was told to use it more!!!?????!!!!- as if I even want to think about that!!!!!
Anyway enough dribble from this Bendigo house.
Love and hugs to all
 everyone,
Kimba: I would be mega ****ed off at that!! You are more than within your rights to ask for the pictures, etc. That is just plain disgusting. How dare they treat you like it's your problem. They sold you the car, you'd think they'd be the ones bending over backwards to figure out what's happened with the paint. Do they not understand that bad costomer service can be damaging through word of mouth? I really hope that little Jet starts to settle at night again for you. What is your bedtime routine with him? I was thinking, perhaps you could try and aim to get him into his room 1/2 hr earlier than normal, and sit with him and read to help calm and settle him, then put him into bed, still sitting in his room, until he goes off to sleep. If this works, continue this routine for a week or 2, then gradually move yourself closer to the door over the next week, then eventually remove yourself from the room, and sit outside. It may sound like a step backwards, but it will be going forwards if he takes to it. :hugs:
Sal: LMFAO  so much about the poo incident!! We were there ourselves not so long ago, and I remember all too well what my reaction was!! Now, I know you said you want to work hard this year, but make sure you don't work too hard, ok? And when the stresses of work all become too much (if you have work stresses), make sure you take the time out, have Nedd cuddles, and forget the stress!! It's not worth it at the end of the day ;)
I know why J has been a little unsettled lately...I put mu finger in his mouth yesterday, and surprise, surprise, there was a big big tooth that is through, down the bottom on the right hand side, and the one on his left side is almost through. Poor little man, I wish he could just come out and tell me that his teeth are coming, instead of just crying at bedtime.
M is staying with my BIL tonight, so I've been able to spend a little bit of time with T and J. It's been nice having a play, without hearing the arguments and stopping the punching every 5 minutes! He'll be in fine form though when he walks through the door tomorrow night. He always is after staying there - single Dad that lets his DS (13) do pretty much whatever he likes, eat what he wants, etc. I won't be surprised to hear that M didn't go to bed until 11pm or something.....
Freaky story - I was cleaning out T's cupboard the other day, and came across his sandles that he stopped wearing in November (as they had become too small). Anyway, I thought I'd try them on J, expecting them to be way to big. Umm, they fit J just fine!! OMG!! Here's my 1yr old, fitting into his 3yr olds sandles!! Am I to expect a gentle giant? Lol!!
Off to bed for me now I think. I've rambled on for long enough. Gotta get up and finish pulling the vine off the fence. Stupid me, should never had started!!
ETA: Di, I missed your post! Good to hear that you have moved ok, and all is well. Maybe now, with all the cleaning your DH is doing up there, he may do it more often for you at home!! Wow, about the whole live swimmers 5 months on. I'll have to be sure to tell my DH to ask for ALL the information when he books in the Dr to ask about having it done. I think he thinks it's instant, lol! If only!! You must be freaking out at the whole 7 weeks left concept?? I can only imagine how amazing it would feel to be carrying twins! DH has always said he wanted 'doubles'. Are you able to post a pic of your belly?
Have a good night, Sarah
Would anyone care for some chickenpox cooties? We may be growing some.
Kids from the new years party at mum's have just started being cootie, and Abbey was very busy there. I'm hoping she doesn't have it, but she has been warmer temp than usual and a bit listless today, so it would be an explanation.
Soon find out!
Sal - a little poo goes a long way, mega ew. So glad Abbey hasnt discovered its wonderful painting properties yet. I know she will, its just a matter of time. If Nedd gets chicken pox, he and Abbey can be pox pals, cyber scratching each other's backs.
And since this has been sitting here since this morning, I will press post before i go to bed and forget it completely.

Mornin all
Well as of 12 midday Friday, we are now officially homeless. Our house settled on friday and I still havent found a rental property. The new owners are willing to let us stay and pay them rent but I dont think for very long.
Who would have thought frinding a rental would be soooo hard. At the moment there are hardly any rentals and about 20 applications per rental AND most landlords want you to sign a 12 month lease which I cant do as my house wont take 12 months to build. This is sooooo frustrating. :hissy:. Stupid me thought I would find something suitable, apply, then move in...
On the bright side, we have signed up for our house to be built. We have finally chosen our builder and fine tuned our design. Very pleased indeed.
A few quickies.......
Bec - :hugs: to you and hubby. Hope your feeling ok.
Kimba - How disappointing about your new car. Dont ya love car salesmen attitude..all slimy when your buying then "whatever" if you have issues after the sale. Much like realestate as I have recently found out. Sorry to hear Jet is restless at night. I dont have any advice on this one, its horrible to see them so upset though isnt it.........
Beck - Hope your GF is easing and your feeling better soon.
Sare - OMG wasnt the heat on thurs and fri just shocking. We spent the day inside with the AC on as well. Hope you have better nights with Lara over the weekend.....
Sarah - I am sooooo Jealous of you and sare with the Ford territory. I want one sooooo bad, but its not going to happen. Wow after all these boys in the family a girl would be lovely wouldnt it. We have only girls so we are opposite and would love a boy!!
Georgia - so your having a virgo baby.. is that right??.... Well let me just say like Kimba said... my sympathies........ Kidding.. Hope your feeling great in pregnancy!!
Di - great to hear from you. I cant believe that your twins could be here so soon. How great is that !!!!... I still cannot imagine 2 bubs at once, I think I would go slighty batty:hair:
Michelle - Hope the Chicken pox cooties stear clear from your household. Sounds like you have to seriously protect yourself with Abbey around splitting lips and breaking noses...
Well I had better go and entertain my sweet girl. Dont have much planned today, just a bit of ironing, packing, food shopping,
Have a great sunday all....xxx
hello everyone,
Wow it has been busy on here over the last few days!
Got the results from my last blood test and hormones are dropping as they should, no sign of complications from the m/c (phew), but the doc wants me to have one more test in 10 days, to check whether the Anti D needle worked (I'm ABneg blood type) and there was no blood transfusion between me and the embryo (ie they'll be checking to make sure I'm not producing any antibodies against a positive blood type). Ah the Rhesus factor, so much fun! Feeling fine now though.
Ella starts full time day care tomorrow  that came around quickly. I hope she'll be ok - I wanted her to spend some more time there beforehand, but she was sick, then we were sick... so she's only been there for a couple of hours. (she cried when we left though:p)
I'm so happy with her sleep at the moment too - remember in October I was still holding her to sleep? Sarah I did exactly what you described, and now we spend 15mins before bedtime in her room with dim lights, looking at books. Then she has her bath & her milk, read 2-3 stories, put her down, say "night night" and actually walk out.... it's like magic. The whole routine only takes half an hour! I got most of it from the No Cry Sleep Solution book. When she was so sick, she wanted to be cuddled again but I don't really mind the occasional relapse (I expect another one next week!)
Well enough about us...
Mary-ann, thanks for the hugs. Right back at you with some :wizard: magic good real estate vibes. That sounds like a crappy situation and I really hope you can find somewhere soon.
Michelle, :fingerscrossed: that Abbey is just hot from the weather, what bad timing when they all have their chickenpox needles in a couple of months! Temperatures are scary.
Sarah, sounds like Jarvis is going to be tall! Ella is in sz 3 sandals now but I don't think they are going to fit her long as she has just shot up again - wonder if she'll be a beanpole like DP or an Amazon like me? Sometimes I laugh at you wrestling all those boys in your house into line. Another one and you'd nearly have an entire forward pack for footy ready to go!
Di, thanks for the sympathy. Both my best mates had m/c's at much the same time (both 8wks) and now they have two kids each... so I'm not worried. Yet. Hope the twins lay off you a bit! Maybe they are just keen to get out?
Kimba, you have my sympathy for the nightly battles. It is such a draining thing to go through, you can feel so powerless! Hope the SA wanes soon, and also keep us posted with the diet changes. I have seen a lot of books on the subject around.
hey Sal - when is your work going to bring you to Canberra? You are really neglecting this part of Australia! :D It would be great to meet you (that goes for everyone else too... holiday in Our Nation's Capital anyone??)
Georgia I'm not surprised you're particular about your food ... makes me even keener to check out your restaurant, hahaha. Can you pm me the name so I can google it and drool? And fantasise about the days when DP and I did occasionally go out for a flash dinner?
I'm picking up my first bridal mag from the library tomorrow. I wonder if I'll be this excited for the next 22 months?

i am getting better and faster...
Question especially for headstong bubba-mummas: Toddler harnesses...Is it worth spending the money on a harness buddy or do the little treasures fight them so hard I should get a plain one?
We're going to Australia Zoo next Saturday with a bunch of family and I know Abbey won't sit in her pram or on my back for the afternoon.
Thus far we are pox free. Couple of spots which may be bites, it looks like we dodged it for now.
Di - I cant believe you are due so soon! Did I space out while time flew or what. Its going to be quite an adventure for you, and for little Adam too. Its exciting for me and I've never met you!
Jackie - awesome to hear Keanu is walking, you are right, he will run very soon.
Bec - How exciting starting the planning!
Maryanne - thats no good about the technical homelessness. I found rentals were easier to get if you targeted the break-lease or take over leases. Maybe establish a relationship with a few real estates so they can think of you if someone bails on their house. Hope you get a break soon!
Thank goodness it's raining and we have a cooler night tonight...I hope it means a good nights sleep for everyone!
Jet went to sleep straight away tonight with only the tiniest grizzle when I left him :yelclap: that's the first time in a week, do I dare hope he's going back to 'normal' now? (IE going to bed without all the fuss and drama!) I guess we'll just have to wait and see...I gave him some diluted chamomile tea today, I wonder if that had any effect!
Sarah - I hear you on the growing feet, Jet's just grown out of another size again! Our Bedtime routine is dinner around 5.30-6 while watching Hi-5 (he loves it :barf:) then TV off and lights dimmed, books and quiet play for 30-45 min with Mum and Dad, bath, cuddles and a couple of books in the rocker in his dim quiet room, bottle of milk, and bed. Used to work like a charm, often he'd be wanting his bottle and blanky while we dressed him right after his bath, and would be ready to go straight to bed, wouldn't even want a book. But not this week!
I've tried getting him to bed both 1/2 hour earlier and later, doesn't make much difference. He doesn't want to get dressed after his bath, doesn't want cuddles, goes manic wanting to play with everything he can lay hands on and read book after book, like he's just delaying going to bed, and wants nothing to do with either his bottle or his grobag (I.E. his previous sleep cues!). When I do get him 'ready' he freaks as soon as I put him in his cot, can't even just sit beside him because he stands up crying and wanting me to pick him up. And when I finally do get him into bed and drifting off, he freaks as soon as he hears me leaving the room...and does the same at 4am when he wakes and I resettle him, he just doesnt' want me to leave the room (I've put a mattress on the floor in his room in case he pulls that one again tonight!)
But anyway tonight was pretty much fine so we'll just keep with the routine and see how we go...who knows, maybe going back to daycare after 2 weeks home with me just brought on some really bad separation anxiety for a week, maybe the diet is working, maybe the chamomile tea helped tonight...
Michelle and Sal, hope that you don't have chickenpox cooties...but is it bad of me to secretly hope that Jet actually does catch chicken pox on his own, so I don't have to make a decision on vacc'ing? Not that I want him to be sick of course, but the vacc needles make him really sick anyway and don't necessary make them immune, whereas catching the real thing does...
Oops speak of the devil I gtg, I can hear him needing a resettle...wish he could remember how to do it himself!
Hi All
Just thought I would jump on and say hi I am still around but not keeping up on too many posts.
I literally feel like a truck has hit me with this GF. Work is so busy and I had heaps to do before we have auditors in next week so they must be hating me but I can't do much.
My throat is getting better but I am just so tired and aching.
Lucky Kayley is being a good kid. She is so adorable at the moment and just loves making all the animal noises when asked.
Still refusing to walk. She took about 8 - 9 steps yesterday at one point and wont do it again as normal!!
Well sorry I hope I will get on a bit more for personals as I improve but that's it for me now.
Best wishes all of you.

Beck - :hugs: you poor luv, gf is the worst, hope you start to feel better soon.
Kimba - big  to your car dealers, what a mess. Get right into them I say... Re: sa, we've been going through the same thing. I guess it's harder for them now they're older and really appreciate mumma being around. It's a poo your dh cant settle him. My dh can, but he's only home 1 night a week lol.
Bec - *shiver* blood tests, how awful. I'm glad there's no complications, I hope you're feeling ok in yourself, we've all been thinking of you.
Jack - Don't wish the running on yourself, Sophia's not quite co-ordinated enough but still has a crack at it, it's quite funny!
Maryanne - Crikey, I hope you find somewhere to live!! What's your back up plan?
Sarah - wow, 1 girl in 65 years, that's amazing! Well, fingers crossed for you, even though you don't mind though it prob drives you mad everyone asking about it etc.
Di - 7 weeks!! that's amazing! Glad to hear you're feeling well.
Sal - Yay for Neddles, he really is a lovely little man. It's great to enjoy it so much, esp. when the first while was tough (for me too!) At least we'll know next time!
re: edd, it was 9 days later than my lmp so I was pleased with that to ward off c/s date, esp. after reading about placenta accreta in the smh, very scary.
re: Virgo, I know, I was very upset about that as I have a few in my life who are nothing but dramas and them, them, them!!! BUT, I thought Sophia would be chilled out libran, and so far not, so who knows
It was a really soft grey slightly rainy day in Sydney today...I love this weather, so relaxing and peaceful.
Compared to this time last week Jet's behaviour and sleeping was an absolute dream today! No tantrums whatsoever, napped for 1.5 hours in the morning and 3 hours (!!!!) in the afternoon, ate all his meals eagerly and calmly, and no protests at naptime or bedtime. Just a few normal whingey toddler moments, but generally a relaxed happy cuddly boy all day...bless him. I think it's too early to credit the additive-free diet, let's face it, it could be a multitude of reasons why he's settled down now (the cooler weather being one!), but whatever it is, I'm just happy to have such a drastic change in behaviour within a week...
He slept pretty well last night too - had a night terror at 10.30 but then slept through till 6.30...I'm hoping he does the same again tonight (OK without the night terror would be even better...)
Georgia - LOL at the non-chilled Librans! My DH increasingly just seems to really stress Jet out, even at nappy change and bathtime, so it's totally useless to get him to settle Jet (even if he could be bothered trying). Placenta accreta is scary isn't it! Who knew! but I'm confused, what difference does a 9 days later EDD make? are you going to schedule a CS or try for a VBAC?
Beck - you poor thing hope you're feeling much better soon. I'm glad Kayley is being good for you! You just reminded me to make sure I get some video of Jet making his animal noises before he grows out of being so cute LOL.
Michelle - re: harnesses, Jet doesn't seem to notice the monkey on his back, so I don't think it'd make any difference whether it was a plain harness or the 'buddy' version. We don't use it often but he seems to be pretty OK with it until he's held back from going somewhere he really wants (obviously!) But at least it's better than him screaming and thrashing to get out of his stroller. I've only ever tried it in short bursts, EG it's quite handy for doctors surgery waiting rooms but not if you were there for hours on end...HTH
Jack - yay Keanu on the walking, before you know it he'll be taking off at the park chasing seagulls...or climbing up the bookcases LOL
Bec - good to hear that the hormone levels are dropping as they should. What a pain that whole Rhesus factor is! How did Ella go at daycare today? Hope all was good...and yes I'm sure you'll still be excited about the wedding for the next 22 months. I was, the first time (the second time I was like 'meh, it's just a wedding' LOL)
MaryAnne - exciting news on the house sale and the builder being lined up - how exciting, to build your own home exactly how you want it! But scary on being homeless, I have my fingers and toes crossed that you'll find a rental soon. GOOD LUCK! If you absolutely had to, would it be so bad to take a rental for 12 months and just take your time in building? Although I know it's a pain because you want to get into your own place ASAP...
Di - you really are superwoman you know, packing up and moving interstate while pregnant with twins, and mum to a tribe including a toddler! (and here I am whinging about looking after ONE child LOL). Hope that you're able to have a bit of a rest now you're settled in...
Hi guys,
Not sure how I'll go with this post. It has finally gotten to the stage where dh and I have said enough is enough and we've decided to no longer rock Lara to sleep. Patting her on the back is a no-go, because she does exactly the same thing as Jet, you think she's asleep and the second that you walk out the door she wakes up screaming. So unfortunately we've had to go down the letting her cry/scream herself to sleep. I feel terrible doing it, but her sleep is just getting worse and worse, so :fingerscrossed:that she's a quick learner. Ahh the screams are settling down to sobs with the occasional scream, we have some progress.
Lara's doing so well with her speech at the moment. She tries to copy so much of what I say (the labelling of things). At the moment her 2 favourite words are gone (with the palms facing upwards) and bye bye accompanied by a wave. Today she was cute, I was driving down the hwy and she was waving to absolutely everything that she saw and kept saying bye-bye. I swear she gets cuter by the day with the stuff that she does. If anything excites her she literally shakes with excitement and gets a big cheeky grin on her face.
Now the screams have stopped...I can still hear little sobs though. Perhaps I shouldn't get too excited, I can hear her banging on the wall.
Kimba - Great news about Jet's improved sleep. I had a read of the stuff that you sent me about the failsafe diet and checked the stuff that Lara mainly eats and we're pretty with the colours. She eats lots of fresh fruit and vegies so I guess we're lucky in that respect, but I will definitely be a bit more vigilant about what I give her.
Georgia - I have no idea about star signs and personality traits. Is this a bad mix? leo (me), pieces (dh), libra (E) and Scorpio (L). I wondered the same as Kimba. Are you planning on a c/s or vbac this time around?
Beck - You poor thing. I love Kayley's new pic in your avatar. I wish Lara wasn't walking at times. She loves chasey and thinks that it's great fun to run away from mummy when I call her and try to pick her up. And don't get me started on climbing ...
I think we have sleep. :smiliedance:
Michelle - can't help you on the harness issue. I occasionally use a wrist strap with Eloise. In fact I should have been using it today when she ran off from mum and I at the shopping centre. It gave both of us the fright of our life.
I hope Abbey stays chicken pox free.
You'll have to let me know whether Aust Zoo is worth the visit. We're heading up to Qld next month. We're having a week in Trinity Beach and a week on the Gold Coast. We were hoping to go to Aust Zoo for the day, but we'd have to do a bus tour from the GC and it's so bl00dy expensive, esp now E has reached the age where we have to pay for her for most things. We'd be happy to take them if it's worth it, but if it's a case of seen 1 zoo, seen them all, we'll just take them to see the croc park in Cairns to get the croc experience.
Jackie - Yay to Keanu for walking. You'll soon be chasing him all over the place.
Bec - I'm glad all your test results are coming back positively. I think I'm going to have to get myself a copy of that no cry sleep solutions book. Ella's sleeping routine sounds wonderful.
Mary-Anne - GL on finding a rental property. Great news about finding a builder though. Do you have a date for when they "anticipate" finishing building?
We should organise another Melb meet. It's been ages since we saw you and Darc, Sal and Nedd and Sarah and her boys. Maybe Di will be up to coming too? Time to send a pm...
Di - You really are a superwoman. Only 7 weeks to go, I hope it flies for you.
I hope I got everyone.
Well, I'm now going to brave going into Lara's room to cover her. :fingerscrossed: that she's in a deep sleep, or the screaming will start again.
Night all
Morning all!
We had a good night last night, Jet slept right through from 7 to 7, except for a night terror at 4am :( through which, technically, he was still asleep, but I wasn't! I'm really hating the damn things: when it happens Jet is totally oblivious to me being there, and it just freaks him out more if I try to pick him up/ comfort him, so all I can really do is let him thrash it out in his cot while I stroke his hair and tell him he's OK.
The worst thing is the way he hurls himself around and kicks out at the cot, I'm worried he'll hurt himself, I've even tried laying him on the floor where he has more space but that makes him worse. And of course the blood-curdling screams - apart from being so distressing for me, we live in a unit so I get really conscious of what our neighbours must be thinking (although I know I shouldn't worry about that). By the time he calms back down into deep sleep, I'm so worked up I can't get back to sleep for an hour...
I'm really at a loss as to what to do. The experts recommend going in and waking him up just before it usually happens for 7 nights in a row to 'break the habit', but since with Jet it never seems to happen at the same time, it's a bit hard...
Sare - I hope Lara had a good sleep after all that :hugs: I can totally empathise with feeling horrible about having 'no option' but crying to sleep. I thought we'd put all that behind us when we did the modified CC last year, so it was awful last week thinking we might have to go through it all again - it's even harder at this age because they're so much more aware and active. I'm so relieved that Jet is so much better this week, and desperately hoping it continues!
With reg. to the additives, the main culprits I found in Jet's usual foods were: preservative 282 (bread), preservatives 220-223 (sausages, cheese, fresh pasta/ lasagne, and other supposedly 'normal' foods), sulphur dioxide in dried fruits (and anything containing it), 'natural' colour annatto 160b (which was even in his damn Weetbix, but most often found in cheese, yogurt and icecream), and
'natural' colour 160c from capsicum/ paprika extract, in things like tinned spaghetti. Also, apparently too much fruit and veg can affect them if they're sensitive to salicylates (esp tomatoes, citrus, broccoli, grapes/ sultanas, amongst others) so as an experiment I've got Jet off mandarins and sultanas at the moment as well (he used to eat heaps of them!) and avoiding tomato-based meals (spaghetti etc), just to see how he goes...:fingerscrossed:
Re: speech, Jet is suddenly coming out with heaps of new words as well, thank goodness actually, as I was getting a bit worried :o He's stringing 2 words together on occasion now, like 'Bye Dad!' when DH went outside, and regularly says 'Deh Dah' (there's Sha) when he sees the cat. And last night I think he finally found his own nose  he always points to mine and says 'Noo' and I always touch his when he does it. Last night when we did this, I saw the light bulb go off  and he reached up and touched his own face. But I wonder if it was just a fluke!
Guys just a headsup - if anyone is interested in a motorised battery-powered ride-on for $20 (plus $15 postage to NSW, not sure about other states) check out the Catch of the Day website

Hiya,
Kimba - Those night terrors sound awful, I hope he grows out of them soon. Ikwym about not getting back to sleep though, it has taken me literally hours the last few nights and it is really bugging me.
Sare - I hope Lara settles really quickly tonight. Is this the first time you've tried cc? did you do it with Eloise as well? re : astrology, I don't know much but I do know you have 1 of each ie: air, water, earth and fire, but not sure what that should mean?!
re: vbac, yeah, i'm going to have a crack at it. As i'd said to Kimba when we last caught up, I think i'm still pretty raw about Sophia's birth so i'm not sure how i'll cope emotionally with a strong labour but I guess it can't be as painful as syntocinon :fingerscrossed: at least i'll NEVER have to have that again:smiliedance:

Just a quick hello from sunny perth! Busy busy busy, have meetings on and seeing lots of Paeds- but it is great so far, I am cramming five days into four so I can be home thurs night, if it works well this time I will be able to do it most times which will be good!
Glad to hear Jet is sleeping better, hope it keeps up. Sare hope you haven't been too sstressed out with Lara's crying it out....she sounds so adorable with her waving, Nedd does this too- often we have NO idea what he is waving bye bye too lol.
And yep yep on the catch up, would be great if we can all get together- Di, we'd love to have you too, I am so excited you are in Bendigo, its like Ballarat's sister city and I am over there all the time for work!
Um, oh and just wanted to mention no sign of chicken pox here so far thankfully- Nedd is being an angel for DH, they both slept in till 8am this morning, lucky buggers!
Oh and Kimba- I am not giving Nedd the chicken pox vax....it is one that the decision was easy for me for, I really don't think it is necessary.
OK, well thats enough from me, I am off to watch an inhouse movie, and rest up- although I miss Nedd and DH terribly whilst I am away, no use moping, it is great to use the time to catch up on sleep and 'me' time!
Take care all.... :)
Hey girls,
Well we've had 2 nights of unbroken sleep :smiliedance: Lara is still waking up and crying, but it has been before we head off to bed for the night. Her screaming goes for about 30 mins before she finally gives in. I tried just putting her down for her day sleep, she took so much longer to get to sleep and only slept for a short period of time. I thought about rocking her for her day sleep and just putting her down at night, but that may just be asking for problems, so I think I'm just going to let her put herself to sleep for both. What do you guys think?
Sal - Good on you for enjoying your time away and making time for yourself...I think it's what we all need at times, but unfortunately don't get time for (I still haven't had that soak in the bath that was suggested last week). I'm glad Nedd hasn't got the chicken pox.
re the chicken pox vaccine - I got Eloise vaccinated against it and will get Lara done too.
Georgia - GL with your VBAC.
How's Sophia going with SA and her sleeping?
This is the first time I've had to do CC. Eloise was THE perfect baby. I fed her to sleep until she was 10 months old and then decided that she needed to put herself to sleep and she did! No hassles, no crying. Lara's certainly making up for the easy time I had with Eloise. Eloise is still a great sleeper. Last night she slept from just after 6.30pm until 7.45am. I can't wait until I can get the both of them sleeping like that.
Kimba - Wow on all those foods. I really haven't looked at all the foods that I give Lara, I just had a look at the main ones and they looked ok. Might need to delve a little further into this.
DH is coming home early to work on building the deck. The concreters are coming tomorrow to concrete all the post in, so he has to put them all up and brace them (some are 6m tall). I can't wait until it's built, it's going to add another 5 squares on. It will be such a good area to let the girls play on and have bbqs etc. We'll finally be able to make use of the great views that we have. (We've only been living here for 6 years come July...DH's motto is no need to rush these things. He's a bit of a perfectionist and has to do everything himself).
Well hope you all have a great day.

Hiya
Sare - Yay on the sleep. I would definitely be consistent with the day and night sleep if I were you but i'm no Baby Whisperer!
Sal - So jealous would love some me time, though I can forget about that for another couple of years :hissy:
Lesley - luv, I can't really do any meet ups for a while as I am working 5 days, unless a Saturday arvo works for anyone?
re: sa, it seems to be getting better and she wasn't clingy at all this morning at day care and slept 8-8 last night which was bewdiful 'cept I am waking up so much atm which is driving me mad.
 everyone,
Just a quickie from me, as I'm getting us all ready to head off on holidays for 5-6 days. Perhaps I'll get some of that 'me' time Sal....ha, not likely!!
I've booked all the boys into swimming lessons again. M and T have already done 12 months each or so, but I stopped them as I was due for J. This will be the first time J will have had any lessons. I'm not worried about hoe he'll go. He seems to love his Nan's pool, so I'm hoping he'll love lessons just as much. The boys do, so :fingerscrossed:
Ok, as I said, just a quickie today...totally flat out! I'll try and get on tomorrow before we go, but if I don't, don't miss me too much  I'll be back on early to mid next week!
Take it easy all,
Sarah
There is a pink princess in my lounge watching play school avidly. She invited me in - comes running to me, points to the loungeroom and babbles excitedly, but if I go in there she looks at me expectantly to sing along. Just because I know the words doesn't mean I have to!
Abbey has been leaps and bounds with her motor skills lately. She has a little music box and the other day instead of bringing it to me for winding, she decided she would do it herself. A little butterfly winder, very fiddly, and she did it all by herself. Of course, she has now applied that skill to switches on all her toys (loud to loudER, on and off) and has a preferred setting for each toy, whether she is playing with it or not. They just lie around, all turned on, calling her to play. I put them away and she gets them out again, to switch and ignore. Little control freak.
She went to bed at 9pm last night after a late afternoon nap, and slept through in her cot until 5.30. Dont hate me, but I would prefer she woke up at 1 or 2am which is her usual long night alone, and then came to bed with me. There's no dh to complain and I can convince her sleep longer in the morning if she doesnt stand up and start running around in her cot having a conversation with the clock on the wall.
Sarah - he will love his swimming lessons! Everyone does, except weird little mummy's girls.
Sare - Sounds like Lara has learned where Mummy draws the line, it must have been hard, but good outcome. I have no idea about day sleep consistency, I still rock or feed to sleep mostly. Abbey's weight has remained pretty constant so its not the huge strain it was with her gaining weight faster than my muscles grew.
Seems my little sister didnt have the pox after all. She has Slapped Cheek Disease, and Abbey doesn't have either the pox or slapped cheeks, so hurrah! I will immunize btw... Baa.
Kimba - did you buy Jet a motorized car? I would love to see him toodling around in that. Abbey won't ride her car, its just not what its for apparently. Maybe my delicate princess needs a side-saddle car!
Its shocking how many uneccesary additives are in foods isnt it? I had thought 282 had been phased out of all Australian bread but it still pops up and there is no reason at all for it to be there. I just browse the ingredients, frown when it says 'flavour' but wont say what, and toss up whether the nummies are worth it. Chocolate yes, bread no.
oh I offered Abbey the puppy and pink poodle harnesses, and she chose puppy. Spent 2 days carrying it around kissing it, making me kiss it, stuffing him places like the mop bucket, rescuing him, and kissing him better. I'm yet to get her to actually wear him.
Getting old sucks! I had a dental checkup today and out of nowhere I need not one but 2 fillings, plus an existing one needs to be ripped out and redone because the dentist didn't do it right last time - and I'm dreading that, because it's under the gum line and I remember how difficult it was the first time (dentist needed to have 2 goes at it, shudder). And to top it off, apparently I could need a root canal too. GAH!!!!!! I'm thinking of asking the dentist if we can do it all under general anaesthetic and just get it over with...
I did order one of the motorised cars, $35 all up was just too good to resist, although we might not even give it to Jet, might save it for a gift for someone else. We'll see...
Michelle - It's all about switches and buttons here too, Jet's latest obsession is trying to grab my camera to poke at all the buttons and try to switch it on. LOL at the puppy harness there must be something about that particular design: we were at a party last week and one of the other kids had the puppy one, and Jet was constantly trying to steal it to kiss and cuddle! Whereas his own monkey harness he could care less about. Clearly we chose the wrong animal
Sarah - I'm sure J will love swimming lessons. Enjoy your break! Although as I'm rapidly learning, once you're a parent a 'holiday' just means lots of kid-wrangling and not much relaxation!
Georgia - yay for Sophia sleeping through! Bugger about you not sleeping well though, hope you get some more restful sleep soon...I hear you on the damn syntocinon...it's kind of a relief to know that next time it's either VBAC or scheduled C/S for me and no way will I ever be induced again.
Sare - yay for Lara sleeping through too! (Oh I wish Jet would follow suit...) If it's any help, when we originally did the modified CC we were told to keep the settling approach consistent for both day and night and that usually once the night sleep was sorted, the day naps would get much easier too (and they did), but the trick is to be consistent and stick at it.
Sal (and Michelle) - good news about no chicken pox and cramming 5 days into 4 sounds great to me!
Lesley - I'm only free on Mondays and we're going away on the long weekend so I probably can't catch up between those dates either...but I could potentially do a Saturday afternoon though some other time, like Georgia suggested?
Gee it's quiet in here *echoes*
No night terrors last night! Yay! Jet did wake at 3am wanting milk and cuddles though...can't have it all I guess.
Jet said Mummy last night :cloud9: Usually he doesn't call me anything, sometimes mama if he's really whinging, but last night I put him in the bath and left him with DH (while I got his bottle etc ready) and he started crying and calling for 'mummy...mummy' Aww! bless the little pudding...he's also started saying 'shhh' and putting a finger to his lips. So cute.
One thing that amazes me at the moment is that he'll see a cartoon or animated cat on TV (which doesn't really look anything like a real cat) and will still recognise that it's a cat, and say his word for cat (he says Sha, which is our cat's name). He even does it with my lame drawing of a cat! Clever little chicken. Mind you he still doesn't know that it's himself in the mirror, LOL.
Anyone starting potty training yet? He's so independent with everything else I'm thinking I might get one and start getting him used to the idea. Especially while it's hot and he's running around nekkid, easy to grab him and sit him on the pot when he starts to go...I'm thinking it'd be great to have him fully TT'd well before he turns 2, no more nappy washing! LOL.

  I've only just got Eloise TT, I don't even want to think about TTing Lara for at least 12 months. Too many unpleasant memories :hissy: Seeing that Lara is so different to Eloise in almost every way, I'm hoping that will also be the case with TTing . Good luck to you though Kimba. I hope Jet picks up on it all quickly.
Great news about Jet's sleep too. We're doing better here too. :fingerscrossed: that it continues.
I tried to start potty training, but Abbey won't sit. She thinks its a trap or something. Its not that she just wont sit on the potty, she wont let me put her into sitting position on anything thats not 'up' like her high chair or a bench. Since I'm not really keen on potty training on the kitchen table or over the toilet itself, I will wait a few more months until she matures a bit.
Its one of her special quirks I guess.
She has the beginnings of control, which is why I bought one. She will squat naked on the carpet, make urgh noises and concentrate, stand up, and check what pattern her pee drops made, admire them, move to somewhere else in the room and do some more.
I just bubblewrapped the corners of the kitchen table. She's more than tall enough to hurt herself, but after last week's black eye on the couch corner, I have fears she will take out an eye on the table. I already had a brick planter bubblewrapped in the door to the lounge, so now my house is themed nicely. Classy!
Are any other bubs developing a funny walk for fun? Abbey sometimes likes to stick her tummy out, her shoulders back, and walk with floppy duck feet. It must feel good. It certainly feels good to watch!
Kimba - that's so nice Jet calling for his mummy. Good job on the cat recognition! Abbey is all about butterflies at the moment, absolutely bonkers over them. In books, clothing, outside. I need to get her a special, super duper, wonderful unique look at me beautiful butterfly nappy.
Sucky about the root canal, but if youve got a good dentist they arent too bad. Darn slow process though. I still haven't gone back and gotten mine crowned, I'm so slack. They'll probably start from scratch to teach me a lesson.
Well Abbey and I are going to go mow the lawn now.
hey girls, thought I'd better pop on since it's quiet!
Michelle I laughed at the "pee pattern" bit - Ella does much the same thing at bath time, only if I don't catch her, it's pee a bit, play in it, then move and pee some more! Ella's version of the funny walk is.. she likes to "bounce" on the couch, my fitball and her care bear. Now she's started to "bounce" just while walking along... it looks like a deep knee bend dance, except she says "bounce! bounce!" while she does it!
Glad Jet and Lara are settling down a bit sleep wise. Ella is a bit more demanding at bedtime than before, but hey it's her first week of daycare, so I was expecting it. It's so much more frustrating when there's no reason.
Kimba dental stuff is enough to give most people the horrors.
Whoops better get ready to go pick my little chicken up! She cried when I left this morning :(
i can do a saturday arvo but i will be brining the other kids too
oh yeah i got a upgrade at work i am so excited
hope all is well with you all
Lara slept through again last night...I think we're on to something :smiliedance:
We're off to lunch with my uni friends today. We're going to a pub with an indoor playground, so hopefully we'll be able to have chat without continual interuptions from the kids .
Hope you all have a great day.
Jet's now back to going to bed without a protest which is great, but still waking through the night. Last night it was 9.30, then 11.20, cried out briefly at 4am (just enough to give me that damn adrenalin surge which then kept me awake for an hour) but resettled himself, then was up for the day at 6. I wouldn't mind a 6am wakeup if I actually got to sleep solidly from 10-6, but that never happens...
I'm starting to get worried about our trip to Indonesia...he's sharing our room with us and I have a sinking feeling that none of us will be getting any sleep for 16 days...
Does anyone know what the rubella rash looks like? It's going around Sydney at the moment. Jet's shoulders and upper chest/ back felt really 'sandpapery' last night in the bath, and on closer inspection it was like a really fine red raised rash. He doesn't appear to have any other symptoms though, so I'm a bit baffled.
Re: potty training. I want to start at least getting him used to the concept, but I have no idea what kind of potty to buy. Why is there always too much choice! Something that doesn't tip over easily is my main prerogative and preferably where he can't get to the contents before we can
Sare - well done on Lara sleeping through again! I hope she keeps it up for you. A pub with an indoor playground is a brilliant idea, hope you have a good catchup with your mates.
Lesley - congrats on the promotion at work. I have no issue with other kids, so if you guys want to tee up a Saturday afternoon some time (just not the next 2 weekends) let me know.
Bec - how's Ella doing with her first full week at daycare? I keep thinking maybe I should go back to 5 days a week as we could certainly do with the extra income...but I really love having my Mondays with Jet. The bouncing sounds very cute! The only bouncing we get is if we lay down, Jet sits on us and bounces up and down going 'whoa whoa whoa' (I have no idea where he picked that up!)
Michelle - LOL at the pee patterns. Jet just lets it go wherever he feels like, then he gets something (toy, utensil, pencil, stick, you name it) to poke at the puddle and swish it around. No deliberately funny duck walks here but lots of very funny dancing, and a hilarious looking run! And last night Jet wanted to put on a pair of shoes that are still miles too big for him then was gingerly walking around in them like they were moon boots, I wish the video camera had've been charged!
Well looks like I @#$%^& jinxed myself by saying Jet's going to bed with no dramas...took almost 2 hours to get him to sleep tonight, culminating in a massive tantrum when DH went (instead of me) to try to do the last resettle, which really set him off! Jet is very much Mummy's boy and quite 'anti' DH at the moment, (it doesn't help that DH can't keep himself calm when Jet loses it, he just snaps and yells at him 'JET! STOP IT! What do you WANT!?') but at least he settled pretty quickly for me after that...
Prior to all that we also had a huge tantrum this afternoon after we went through the checkout at Woolies, because we wouldn't let Jet touch the eftpos keypad, he thought it was a phone and wanted to push the buttons  so then he screamed all the way home...
Interestingly, DH mentioned in passing that he saw Jet's carer give him 'a biscuit' this afternoon, and I didn't pack any biscuits in his lunch-box (we supply all our own food). So now I'm burning with curiosity to know what it was that she gave him, because I'm wondering if it's got any of the additives that we cut out 10 days ago - if it does, surely it's way too coincidental that he should go nuts tonight, right after eating it...or just bad timing??? hmmm :detective:
Anyway :fingerscrossed: I hope he sleeps all night now...but usually when he has a bad bedtime, he has a bad night too...is this child ever going to sleep well? Maybe he's one of those 'indigo children' I keep hearing about...
Oh and we have more new words - eye, hair, teeth, puss puss (which sounds more like poo poo )
Hope you all have a better evening than we've had so far!
Oh Kimba, that's the way it works isn't it? Just as you think it's settling down, the rollercoaster begings again! Does the carer know that you are trialling a special diet with Jet? How rude if she just ignored your instructions. I'd be very upset (especially if that's the result!)
I bought O a potty last week. She has started to get upset everytime she wee's or poo's on the floor, and even now when she does a poo in her nappy she tells me by making the same upset noise that she makes when she goes on the floor. Yesterday she even pointed to her nappy and said 'poo'. I couldn't believe it! We have caught a few poo's just by her letting us know that it is starting to come out, and then sitting her on the potty. This morning I even caught a wee! She did a couple of little dribbles on the floor, held it in and made her little upset noise, so I walked her over to the potty and she did a big wee :D I was so impressed! She didn't think much of it, but loves the routine of emptying the potty into the toilet and waving goodbye to the wee and poo  She even gets a cloth to wipe up any accidents, and tried to put the cloth into the toilet today!
All I can say is thank God for floorboards!
I must get of the puter now, my back is killing me :( 8ish weeks to go

Hiya all - and Happy New Year - long time between posts.......
Well Little Miss Bella has had quite the rollacoaster over the last couple of weeks, starting with us pulling her out of her family daycare after we found out that she was being locked in a room by herself and left to scream to the point where she was headbutting the wall, all as punishment:mad:. The stupid daycare woman actually told me that she tried this as a behavioural management method?!?! The halfwit obviously forgot that I work for the Qld Police in "Child Safety and Sexual Crimes", specifical the Child Abuse Unit :banghead:. So she is out and daycare centre is in, and Bella is back to sleeping throught he night and not clingy anymore and generally the happy-go-lucky little noodle that we love and adore - with no "behavioural issues" arising yet....... making us wonder what was going on around there for these "issues" to arise????
Bella is full of words now, even coming and telling us POO POO and pulling her nappy out for us to have a look - bless her!
She is eating dinner all by herself, thinking she is very cool when she spears a vege or meat with her fork, and has just in the last few days started going and putting herself down for sleeps during the day, and tonight even went off to bed by herself, well to her cot then mumbled and MUM-MUMed until I went in and lifted her in. We're wondering how long this will last?
Well I only have 5 weeks of fulltime work left then I'm back on Mat Leave, then the wait till #2 arrives. Still no names decided on, really struggling with this one - nothing is realy jumping out for us.
Pregnancy has been great - aside from spending last weekend in hospital with suspected apendicitis, which turned out to be a servere bladder infection combined with the dreaded gastro vomiting bug going around. So far at 30 weeks I have only put on 5kgs, which is really bizzare as I looked after myself so much better with Bella and did 25kgs, in fact - I'm not really looking after myself at all this time around, no time, with DP away for work 1-4 nights a week, a toddler to tame and fulltime work, who has time to remember to take a multi-vitamin???
Hope everyone is happy and healthy, and all your gorgeous bubbas are covering you kisses!
Will try to be back soon!
OMG Kristen, that is terrible! Have you taken action to get her daycarer license revoked? How long had she been doing that for you have to wonder. I'm glad Bella has recovered and is enjoying her new centre.
Pam - that is awesome progress on the TT, you and Olivia should be very proud. Sounds like she will be out of naps before you know it. Good thing you've got another on the way to use them!
Kimba - What a naughty carer. After you have a word with her, maybe give her a pack of approved biscuits/sultana box etc as snack food so if the other kids or she is having something he can have some too, and she would always have it on hand, so running out of the packed food would be no excuse.
No idea on the rubella rash, sorry. But as to which potty to buy...just get one that isn't scary. There are some darn freaky ones out there marketed as 'rewarding' but creep me out completely.
Abbey and I had a fun time mowing. I had let the lawn out front go completely wild during the rainy period, so wild and dense that the mower kept stalling from strain. So with Abbey on my back I did the worst job ever trimming it to the point when I can do a proper mow this weekend sometime. She seemed to really enjoy the vibration though, she wriggled around to dangle her head off to the side, stare at the sky, and closed her eyes. People were slowing down to check there wasnt a problem, she was that limp and dangly. I guess being outside, snuggling mummy and getting vibrated was a homer donut combination!
We've got a puppy sleeping over tomorrow (with its owners but they cant compete), so after the zoo and chasing puppy she will sleep really well. At least I hope so!
Last night she slept in her cot until 4am, only woke up because I went in and closed her window. She's trying to grow up and leave me!

kristin - that is shocking....i would be complaining to the family day care association, writing a letter....that is very uncalled for...and just down right wrong...IF there were behavioural issues the parents should be spoken to and a plan put in place...not locking a child in a room...poor, poor bella, can imagine what that could/would do to a child...imagine if you didn't find out ??? GRRR i would be extremely angry, her license should be taken away!!!!!
ia m due for my period today, but it hasn't came yet... ?? i did a test and got a :bfn:.....
Well last night didn't end up being too bad, Jet woke around 9.30 but resettled with a cuddle, then slept through till 6.30 which was great. I actually got 7 hours unbroken sleep! :yelclap:
We just went and got some passport photos done for Jet...starting to get excited about going to Indo in March although nervous as well...dengue fever has been a bit rife over there of late, so now that's just one more thing to be anxious about!
Jack - if you're not even a day late yet then it's probably way too early to test isn't it? When I got pg with Jet my tests didn't show a :bfp: until 19 days after my period had been due, presumably I'd ovulated late that cycle...
Michelle - how cute a puppy sleepover - I bet Abbey will love that. I can't imagine Jet sitting still on my back long enough to mow the lawn!
Re: snacks at daycare, the puzzling thing is that I always provide 'approved' snacks and there were 2 mini rice cakes (which he loves) left untouched in his lunchbox, no idea why she didn't give those to him! I did tell her that I had him on a special diet too, and usually she's pretty good with asking in advance if it's OK to give anything to the kids (EG if someone's having a birthday cake) but clearly i need to have another chat to her...
Kristin - OMG that's incredibly bad - i can't believe the carer did that to Bella! That's one of my greatest fears (abuse at childcare), especially since Jet IS clingy and unsettled and not sleeping at night...I sometimes wonder if daycare is behind it :( I agree with Michelle, I hope you're ensuring her licence gets revoked...but I'm glad to hear that Bella is back to her happy self and that all is going well with the pregnancy.
Pam - Wow Olivia is doing so well with the TT'ing! That's going to make your life so much easier when you have a newborn to take care of. And yes I agree, thank goodness for floorboards
Better go, I have someone coming to look at our old car this afternoon. I just put an ad on facebook as a bit of a lark not expecting anyone to reply, but someone did! so wish me luck that she likes it and wants to buy it :fingerscrossed: because that'll save me heaps of hassle trying to advertise and sell it another way...

kimba - hmmm i think it is different with each pregnancy!! Lol...i got a :bfp: the day i was due for my period with keanu...either my period is late this time or maybe too early to detect....???? either way we will find out for sure hopefully in the next 2 days....if i still haven't got AF!
keanu just had a 2 hr nap....so had better go get his lunch!
keanu now has 10 teeth that have cut thru!!! getting lots all at once...
and he is walking everywhere...he wont keep shoes on tho ???
Hey All
Things are OK here - I am a lot better but still just tired and achey a lot of the time. Tossing up whether to go into work next week - I probably should take the rest as I have a certificate but they are so busy......
Well I have decided Kayley is walking. She has taken over 20 steps at once but still will only do it when she wants to. She is actually pretty stable but I think she just gets scared???
Jack - I hope you get the result you want! I wouldn't mind trying soon but DH is not up for it and now I have GF I think I better wait a while until that all clears up. We are looking at going to Phuket next January now so if we do go for no 2 it may be a while down the track.
Kimba - glad Jet slept OK. Kayley can sometimes still be a pain to get to bed at night but she is fine during the day so I am not sure why. She is sleeping through a fair bit now though and if she does wake up it is a couple of minutes resettle only so I can't complain.
Sare - glad Lara is sleeping - you must be feeling great!
Kristin - can't beleive the carer - that's what scares me about home day care. Kayley is starting to get used to ABC although she cries whenever we leave she is starting to play a bit there now which is good. Just don't get the same bonding as a home carer though. I can't beleive the food and the sleep - that is really good!! Kayley feeds herself but just with her hands!
Well I have to run - DH has cooked spag bog for tea and it is ready.
Best wishes to all of you.
Yay I sold my car! :yelclap: got exactly what we wanted for it too. She made an offer and I was so pleasantly surprised that I just said "yep that's fine!" without even haggling, LOL.
I still can't believe that I put an ad up on facebook (of all places), got one (and only one) response almost instantly, and then she bought it - I hadn't even gotten around to putting a for sale sign on the actual car yet. Must have been meant to be :)
Anyway it's not fully signed off yet, so I guess I shouldn't jinx myself, but she did leave a hefty deposit :D
Beck - glad to hear that you're feeling much better and congrats on Kayley 'officially' walking! :yelclap:
Jack - very true that it's different for each pregnancy - anyway I hope that you get your BFP if that's what you're hoping for! Jet was a bit like that with shoes in the early days, always tugging them off, but he loves wearing them now and I often find him trying to put them on by himself - not just his own but also ours!

hey girls....got my period last night!
not to dissapointed, as we weren't trying, and we really want to wait til sept to start trying....i mean we would have been happy but it just means keanu can be my baby for a while longer, which i am happy about :)
not a lot happening here...except he is walking every where now and climbing and attempting to climb everything!
he is well tho...can't complain really...
when is everyone going to start toilet training??
I was thinking over next summer...but maybe that is leaving it too late....i mean we have a potty which i will get him use to before then but i was thinking over summer he can at least run around in jockies....any thoughts???
Bec - congrats on the walking...that is great :-)....they can be stubborn at times...!
I just survived a solo trip to IKEA with a tired toddler in tow, without any major meltdowns on either his or my part. Surely that deserves a medal? Just got Jet a table of his own where he can sit and eat/ draw/ paint/ do playdoh etc etc.
Jack - aww bummer about getting AF, but like you say you weren't really trying yet, and at least this way Keanu is still your 'baby' for a bit longer. I'm feeling the same way, we were originally going to start trying for #2 in March, but my impatience has gone and I'm happy to wait for a while...
Re: TT, I'm starting now. Well, starting to get Jet used to the idea of a potty anyway, especially while it's warm and he's having plenty of nappy free time, it's easy to grab him and sit him on the potty. But who knows how we'll go - we can only try right! :fingerscrossed:

Hi all....been a slacko again, just so busy at the moment. DH and I are hanging for a weekend where we can just chill, glad I am in a rental cause the place is going to poo!!!
Well I got back from WA thurs night, so glad to see my boys....Nedd was very happy to see mummy too I think.
Pity I had fri off then we were off to a wedding sat arvo, so had to leave him with my mum and dad for the night, and now I have two days home and am up in syd late tomorrow night, arghhh!
So thus nothing much to report, cept that Nedd is saying more and more things everyday, yesterday it was shut and open....
He is the most adorable dancer! I must try to get it on video....and he is now trying to 'sing' when music comes on he goes 'la la la', copying me singing along.
Oh and he smiles on cue too....
http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o63/lloydsalnedd/Nedd%2012-15mnths/IMG_0347.jpg
This is the result of asking him to smile- that was a couple of weeks ago- he does the eye squint even more pronounced now!
Still not saying mum at all (Kimba you know how frustrating this is!) Yet the minute the door opens it is 'dada dada', and everytime he sees DH the same.....I just wish he would say mum once!
Re TT, my goodness I hadn't even thought about it!!! You've given me food for thouht though as Nedd is almost always nappy off at home, so no reason why we can't start making a bit of an effort. But in all seriuosness I wasn't even going to consider it till he is two or so.
Table and chairs- Kimba, Nedd got one for christmas and it is fab! He LOVES it...he now only really goes in high chair for breakky and yoghurt, all other meals are eaten at his table, or arvo snacks are on his couch. Great investment.
OK, well thats a hi from me, sorry for lack of personals.
Hi girls
I will try to get back on and catch up on personals at a later date.
Been a long week here.
We went from everything being rosy to spending every day last week and now the same this week at the hospital.
It appears having twins is not as simple as I naively thought!!!!
I have developed cholestasis whih is apparently because it is all too much for my poor liver to handle. Besides the intense and non relenting itching of my hands and feet it hasn't been too bad I guess.....
Now I have also developed gestational diabetes which they tell me is 80% more likely with a multiple pregnancy (gee thanks for the warnings). I am now being monitored every Monday and Thursday at the hospital as well as a scan on one of the other days each week to make sure these little boys are coping alright.
I have a blood test once a week for the cholestasis to ensure it doesn't worsen.
Luckily John has been able to work around my appointments so between him and the kids Adam hasn't even missed me. Although he does like to get into bed at 7 with me and snuggle as close as possible until after 8. I'll take it while I can - once the kids go back to school I won't be able to enjoy that either.
A little bit flat today as I feel like my body is failing me just when I need it to work it's best.
Oh well, atleast so far everything is still going ok with the twins. I am very VERY glad these will be my last babies. I reckon even though I suffer low blood pressure I'm likely to end up with that changing just to finish things off.
Anyway I am off to lie down and give my dead hips a break from sitting.
Love to all mummies & babies

Di
Hey girls,
Firstly, Di :hugs: You poor thing. It sounds like your dh and the rest of your family are being a great support to you. Hopefully the next month or so go superfast for you.
This will be just a quick one...dh's reading the girls their bedtime stories and I've got our dinner cooking (yummy spinach filled lamb with steamed vegetables). Eloise is driving me bonkers again :hair: Anyone want to borrow a whingey, whiney 3 year old with an attitude and male-like selective hearing capabilities?
Lara's sleeping sooooo much better. She still screams for about 15-20 mins when we leave her in her room, but we haven't had to get up to her once at night for the last week :smiliedance:
Tomorrow I'm off to the hospital for the ultrasounds to see what's going on with my ovaries after the problems I had late last year. :fingerscrossed: that everything is ok. I hate having ultrasounds unless they are during a pregnancy (and even then, I'd rather avoid the internal one :o)
Ok dinner's ready and the girls are in bed :goodvibes: Better go. Hope you are all well and I will pop back on tomorrow for some personals.
Take care...

Sare- spinich filled lamb sounds yummy- whatss involved?!?!
Good luck with the ultrasound....hope it isn't too awkward.
Di- :hugs: :goodvibes: :hugs: Oh Lovey- You and Your body are doing an AMAZING job! It is fairly understandable that you are under some strain carrying around those two little tackers....take care, get lots of rest (well within the boundaries of what is possible) and look after yourself. :hugs:
Hi All
Firstly I wanted to stay :hugs: to Di - it is pretty hard carrying those 2 around.
Sare - yay on the CC. You do well waiting the 15-20 mins - I am too soft! Kayley was a bit of a pain tonight taking about 20 mins to go to sleep but she sleeps through most nights at the moment so I can't complain. Good luck with your U/S. I am not sure what is going on inside me either and will probably have to look into it when/if TTC #2. I had my first AF on Kayleys bday then one a month later which I thought maybe meant Iwas starting to have a cycle for once in my life? But not one since and not pg so I guess things are still not that well in there. Thank god for fertility assistance!
Kimba/Jack/Sare - Kayley got a table and chairs from ikea for xmas from nana and granddad. She has a little red table and some colourful rattan chairs she uses for her drawing/playdough table. I also just bought a booster seat which she is now using for meal times so she sits up at the table with us which is great. Also means it is easy to take with me when going out. She is sitting up at the table for food at child care though.
Kimba - yay on selling your car -through facebook I would have never thought!
Well gals I am a bit achey and sore so I am off to bed. Hope you all have a good day tomorrow. I am staying home from work again but starting to get a bit of cabin fever at the moment!
Sare - You can keep your adorable terror, I'm growing one of my own I'm sure! Good job on Lara's sleep progress.
Di - what a rough way to finish the pregnancy, lucky DH and the kids are helping out. Get some rest, stock up on Adam snuggles and take care.
Sal - thats so Cute Nedd smiles on cue! Abbey refuses. She's too busy to smile for the camera, go away mummy.
Kimba - Can Jet get on his new chair by himself? All the ones I've seen are slightly higher than abbey's bum.
We had a nice afternoon at Australia Zoo. Abbey did a good amount of walking, chasing ducks and dogs. All birds are ducks, including giant cassowaries, and most other animals are dogs, including elephants. I think having a dog sleepover fuzzed her animal names. Dogs are cool, cool animals are dogs!
A calf licked her face while she was calling it dog, and she didn't mind at all.
Her favourite display was the snakes, she ran from side to side touching all the snake photos/displays she could reach.
We're going back in March with an interstate visitor, will have to pay for it then. I don't think its worth the $50pp they ask though.
Abbey has been doing lots of dancing too. She loves the "so you think you can dance" ads. She stands up, says "das" and gets jiggy. It looks just like jumping, with an old lady bum wiggle thrown in.
Okay, brain fuzzy. Must go to bed.
Firstly Di - sending lots and lots of :hugs: to you and hoping that the next few weeks aren't too unbearable. As if carrying 2 babies isn't enough on it's own, having other pg complications is a bit rude isn't it! I had the itchy feet and weekly blood tests and they suspected cholestasis when I was pg with Jet (was all related to the issues with my gallstones) so I can totally empathise, it's not fun...
Re: table/ chairs. We got him a (click to see photo>) red kids table from IKEA and 2 stools to go with it (http://flickr.com/photos/kimbaleo/2209209160/). And yes Michelle the stool is higher than his bum but that doesn't stop him, he can get onto it OK. I think being a stool he can kind of get his leg up and over a bit easier than if it had a back IYKWIM? Although once he's on, his feet don't touch the ground  and sometimes he asks for help to get down. But he's already figured out that climbing on top of the new table is even more fun. Even with Mummy doing the eye-level very stern 'NO - Dangerous!' he just smirks and does it anyway...
Anyone else out there got a climber and what do you do about it??? It's like his physical capabilities outstrip his sense of danger/ right-wrong. He completely ignores us if we say no or stop, and we can't keep him off things. I was in the kitchen yesterday and he got up on top of our dining table! He'd climbed up from one of the dining chairs. Apart from the danger factor, there's really nowhere to keep things out of his reach any more! I'm dreading the day he figures out that he can drag a chair into the kitchen and get up onto the benchtop...
Re: smiling on cue. Jet won't do it either, well not for the camera anyway. Hence he looks like a stunned mullet in all his photos, unless I happen to catch him mid-smile.
Michelle - Australia Zoo sounds like fun and I'm glad Abbey loved it - but yeah it's expensive! There's a zoo (Mogo Zoo) right near where my parents live and they're friends with the owner and got a family pass for the year so we can take Jet every time we visit - yay Nanny and Poppy!
Beck - I suppose at least taking 20min to go to sleep is worth it if Kayley sleeps right through - yay Kayley! I got a pop-up booster seat to take to Indonesia with us and have just started using it at home to get Jet used to it, they're good aren't they.
Sare - thanks but I'll pass on the whingey whiney 3 year old, I have my hands full with a monkey climbing up the furniture! Good luck with your ultrasounds today, hope all is good. I hear you on the internal, ugh. I told the sonographer that at least if they made the thing vibrate it'd be more fun :D
Sal - Nedd's dancing sounds so cute! And he's very clever saying shut and open.
Well that's it for me I have to dash to the bank to deposit the money I got for my car, I still can't believe I sold it through facebook, too funny. But hey it didn't cost me a thing to advertise it!

i am watching a wooden chair and table set on ebay!!!
Keanu has always had a booster chair at the table. we never used a high chair...i bought one but it just took up too much space so we opted for the booster chair. we just sat him in his rocker on the table when he wa wee little....i love the booster chair, i think they are great :-) and yep you can take them anywhere :-)
not much to report here...there is a nice cool breeze...ahh...not doing a lot today, just had a bbq brekky (this is Our weekend)....and keanu just went down for a nap as he was tired and cranky....poor little mite.
well might go have a shower.

Hi guys,
Well it's been a week of mixed fortunes - Ella was a horror on the weekend, screaming & arching her back at bedtime and at intervals through the night. I thought it was an evil combination of starting daycare/being a bit sick/cutting a top molar, but now we have another possible culprit -she's been eating handfuls of sand at daycare!! I hope now they're watching her more closely for it she'll stop soon. Poor little mite, I imagine that would hurt your digestive tract!:(
BBL for personals.
Also, DP & I had a big fight on Sunday night. But on the plus side we worked it out yesterday and have a positive course of action to follow now - I think the fight needed to happen though, to let him know that there are some things I won't back down on!
Hey Kimba I was thinking of you on the weekend - we have bought Ella a play fort (I will have to take some pics of it, it's quite impressive!) from her uncle (tight a*se, it's his idea of a hand me down). It has a slide and lots of interesting crawly climby bits. But Ella's just not that much of a climber yet. I was thinking how much Jet would enjoy it! He'd probably have sat on the roof by now  Good work on the car too.
Michelle, that sounds like a great day at the zoo. Seems like all toddlers like animals! Her dancing sounds really funny too.
Beck - :hugs:, hope you feel better soon. GF is the worst - a constant feeling of bleuch, but not quite sick enough to want to stay on the couch all day! I got it during my yr 12 ski trip. Fun.
Hi Sare - your dinner sounds lovely! No I'll pass on the whiny toddler, struggling with my poor little possibly sand blocked sad girl for now. Hope the egg factories are going ok. Glad Lara is sleeping through for you.
Hi Di. :hugs: and I hope you and the twins are all ok. Glad Adam is still getting his snuggles in!
Sal, good work with the smiling! Our camera is so crappy, that unless we are outside she looks like she's having a seizure - due to having eyes half closed from the flash! Ella says Mum a lot which can be frustrating, as she always wants Mummum when she's miserable. You would think she'd be missing Daddy more, since she used to spend all day with him!
Hi girls,
I can't believe there's no takers on Eloise :p She's been better today and the ILs are having her tomorrow, so I will get a proper break.
I think everything went ok today (well except for the internal scan...ugh!) He (yep...a male...'nother ugh!) said that there were no large masses shown which was good and I just have to phone my gp tomorrow to see how the PCOS is going. I think all's pretty good at the moment, because according to my temps I actually o'd this month. I'm still not ttc yet though...I want lots more sleep before I even think about going back to a newborn.
Bec - Poor Ella. Did she only swallow sand the once?
Kimba - The table looks great. Eloise got one a few Christmases ago from the ELC. Lara loves it too. Snap on the climber. Lara hasn't quite gotten on to the table yet, but chair are no problem for her. I swear she has no fear. Well done on selling your car through facebook. I would have never thought to look for a car on there.
Michelle - we're now thinking that we may head up to Aust. Zoo when we are in Qld next month. I just spoke to my neighbour and she thinks it is great. We're going to book our tickets through RACV because you can get them cheaper through them and hire a car for a couple of days (stupid me didn't realise that you could hire cars with carseats), so it will end up being cheaper than doing the bus tour from the GC.
Beck - I really feel for you having GF. My brother had it when he was in yr 12 and it really knocked him about. Hopefully you are on the mend. :smiliedance: for Kayley walking too.
Sal - Spinach-filled Lamb is absolutely delicious, but the best bit is that it's a Sureslim recipe, so it's good for you :yelclap: It's quick and easy to cook. I've scanned the recipe (http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p194/mselg/spinachfilledlamb.jpg)for you if you want it (hope it works, if not I can type it out for you)
Gee Nedd's grown heaps. He's such a cutie smiling on demand.
Well off to get the veggies for dinner ready. Not sure exactly what we'll be having yet, but it will no doubt involve steamed veggies.

hi
we have keanu in a pai of sandals today..yay...he is doing really really well in them. looks so cute too.
we are at MIL for tea so best be off....having pork stir fry, yummy!!!
looking at a table on ebay and the warehouse have some nice wooden ones, coming on sale this week, so might check those out....
cheerio for now
xoxo
 everyone.....
I couldn't remember if I had posted since I've been home, so had to go back and check the last couple of days  So rude of me, I haven't!!
Anyway, we are back...thank god!! I think next time we go away, we will have to make sure we are not sharing a holiday house with anyone, and I'll have to make sure I'm not the only woman there!! It felt like all I was doing was cleaning up after everyone all the time. I can do that at home!! The kids had a fun time though, and they experienced their first fishing trip on a boat. M caught a couple of fish, but they were too small and had to be sent back to swim. T enjoyed going on the boat, but was happy to sit it out the next day, lol. DH caught a 6kg gummy shark, which he was pretty chuffed with, and he tells me it tastes pretty good too! M and T both got sea sick, poor little fellas, but still enjoyed it! Since I've been home, I've done about 6 loads of washing and still have more to go! I must say again though, that I'm relieved to be home!
Not much else happening....I'm 17 weeks this week  Seriously, where is the time going? I asked my Ob at my appoint last week if he could make out what I was cooking in there, and he said he couldn't tell yet. DH still doesn't want to know, so I'll just have to keep asking him if we can find out so he feels pressured to say yes
J is really becoming Mr cheeky lately. He's not too much into the climbing as bad as Jet is Kimba, but he does like to climb...mostly onto the couch, then he'll run from one end to the other. I really don't know how he hasn't tumbled off and hurt himself.
He did the cutest thing today. The boys were outside with DH and he was watching them through the door. He picked up one of his shoes, and bought it down to me, saying 'ta'. I asked him to sit down, and he did. Then I asked him to go and get his otehr shoe, which he did, handed it to me saying 'ta' and sat down. Aww, so cute!
DH is going to QLD tomorrow morning. We have to leave here at 6.50am, which I'm not looking forward too, so I best be off to bed.

mornin everyone,
Well seems my homeless situation is NOT getting any better. I really hate paying rent in my own house and the new owners gave me the impression the other day that they are REALLY keen to move in. cant say I balme them, they are probably really excited about their first home. So we are getting rejected purely on the basis that we are not willing to sign a 6 month lease. I just dont want to risk signing a 12 month lease and our house being finished in 7 months...what then??...
On an even unhappier note, management at my work have now changed out shifts, so instead of starting at 3am I am now starting at 2am, which means getting up at 1am. I mean come on, how bl@@dy ridiculous. I have done one so far and it nearly killed me. One hour makes a huge difference. And to think the union approved it......
So other then being homeless and beyond tired. all is well. My little chicken is surprising me every day with all the little things she has picked up and learned. Its amazing how their brains at the moment are like little sponges absorbing EVERYTHING.
Darcy just loves being outside, she whines to get out there and cracks it big time when its time to come in. She mostly harasses the dog and distributes the pegs around the yard, but she is totally in her element out there.
Sorry no personals today... Have taken an RDO today so must make the most of it and get stuff done.....
Kisses to all the gorgeous bubbas...xxx:wave:
So we are getting rejected purely on the basis that we are not willing to sign a 6 month lease. I just dont want to risk signing a 12 month lease and our house being finished in 7 months...what then??...
:hugs: Mary- Anne. We looked for almost 18 months at one stage for a suitable rental. it totally sucks. If you were to sign a 12 month lease, all it would mean when you broke the lease is that you may have to pay advertising costs (so they can re-advertise the rental), and pay rent until they found suitable tenants to take over. As you would know from hunting around, there are plenty of people wanting rentals, so I'd be guessing they wouldn't have much trouble finding somebody to take over from you. You could also look at it from the other way....if you were to sign a 6 month lease, and your house took longer to build, they may not extend your lease, then you're stuck again! I'd just go with the signing with the 12 month lease, and break contract if you need to. Good luck!
Oh, and bummer on the change of shift!
Well another 4.30am start for me today. Jet's been waking at this time consistently for over a month now, and once again this morning he just wouldn't resettle (screamed when I tried to leave the room). So I brought him into my bed which of course was just as bad, as that meant PLAYTIME, even in the dark.
I'm tired and fed up and I just don't know what to do about it...I know it's not Jet's fault that he's waking/ can't get back to sleep. I know he's capable of self-settling coz he does it at bedtime and through the night, but it's like he's got insomnia or is just programmed to be awake at 4am! I've tried being tough and just ignoring him and he ends up screaming the place down for hours. Bottles of warm milk don't help either, he just cries as soon as I leave him. It's clearly mummy that he wants...flattering yes but ohhhhhhhh soooooooo tiiiiiiiiiired...
MaryAnne -:iagree: with Sarah. I'd take the 12 month lease and then if you have to break it or the agent won't let you out of it, you can deal with it at that time - the worst thing that can happen is that you're up for the costs of them getting in a new tenant, which hopefully wouldn't work out to be too much!
And yes bummer about the change in shift, that's pretty rude. 1 hour can make SUCH a difference.
Sarah - gosh that doesn't sound like much of a holiday for you at all! I hope you've got a chance to have a bit of a rest now that you're home, although with DH away again I guess that's impossible...17 weeks already it's amazing how fast this year is going!
I won't be TTC # 2 for another full year at least  But maybe Jet will finally be sleeping through the night by then! LOL :fingerscrossed:
Hi girls,
Kimba - :hugs: I really sympathise with you, wake up calls are the pits and you must be absolutely knackered. I know it's horrible to do, but have you thought of letting Jet scream? I can't believe the difference in Lara in just under 2 weeks. It's like she knows that it's no use waking up crying in the middle of the night because Mummy's not going to come. She doesn't stir now until around 7am. It's still a bit of a battle at bedtimes, but she screamed for less than 5 mins for the last 2 nights :yelclap:(could be a coincidence, but I put her That's not my Teddy book into the cot and she's settled so much faster). I hope Jet grows out of this phase quickly.
Mary-Anne - :hugs: for you too. No advice here, but I hope you find somewhere soon. That's the pits about your shift change too. Hopefully your body clock will adjust to it quickly.
Sarah - No good about the holiday. Cleaning is not fun at anytime, but while you are on holiday is just plain wrong! 17 weeks already, that's great. You'll be announcing the birth of your new bub before we know it.
We're getting a new member of our family....a puppy. Just paid a deposit on him today and we get him in 7 weeks. So excited. I love dogs, but we haven't been able to have one because of renting and then building/doing garden. The garden's still not finished (almost 6 yrs after moving in, there's grass/concrete/and a soon-to-be completed deck). Eloise is getting excited too, not sure that Mac the cat will be though. So it looks like it's going to be a busy couple of months for us, Eloise starting Kinder, me going back to work part time, a holiday to Qld for 2 weeks and a new puppy. :flowerz:
Hope everyone else is well...
Sare that's so cute that Eloise is excited about the puppy...I bet Lara loves it too. What kind of dog is it? I hope you say labrador, they're beautiful...
I know it's horrible to do, but have you thought of letting Jet scream?
Yep tried being tough! but I don't know if it's because he's older now or what, but he just gets so worked up he screams for hours and sometimes head-butts the cot, I'm scared he'll hurt himself :( And I can't sleep hearing him like that, so I'm awake anyway, making it kind of pointless. As well as annoying the cr@p out of our poor neighbours! I just wish he was able (willing? LOL) to sleep in my bed with me, because that would at least solve my sleep deprivation problem...
Anyway...it can't last forever right? He's probably just anxious about me leaving him at daycare every day...and right now I'm under a lot of stress, and there's a lot of tension between me and DH too, so I'm sure Jet is picking up on all that. Poor kid, I feel guilty :(
I've vowed to get myself to bed by 8.30pm tonight - what a nanna! :p
PS yes I am off to bed now and it's just past 8.30! LOL

kimba...it is hard at times isn't it...to know if we are doing thr right thing and regardless sometimes we just want something to work, anything, so we can get some sleep...i really have no advice as i have been lucky and never really had issues with keanu sleeping (now and then, if sick etc but within a few nights of being better he gets back to normal...if it happens, i usually let him have a cry, then re settle him if he gets to a point that i myself don't like...and that works a treat for us)....so goodluck!! :hugs:
be a nana and get some much deserved sleep.
we went to the play centre today with a friend, was nice day out...2mrw we were supposed to have ppl over but they cancelled...oh well i am intending to spend the day with keanu (no computer etc). plus i cleaned a little today!!
anyway cheerio for now.
xoxoxox
Sare that's so cute that Eloise is excited about the puppy...I bet Lara loves it too. What kind of dog is it? I hope you say labrador, they're beautiful.
He's a Spoodle. My brother and his partner have one and he's just beautiful, the best nature and great with kids. I love labs too, and we really would have loved to get a golden retriever, but they're a bit too big for our yard.
What a bummer about the screaming/crying it out. Have you tried a portacot or mattress on the floor for Jet in your room? It didn't work for Lara, but it might for Jet.
Now get off your comp and go and get an early night :p Enjoy your sleep and hopefully Jet will sleep through tonight...tell him that Lara said he had to.

ummm what's a spoodle !?!
A Spoodle is a mix between a cocker spaniel and a poodle. They look like this (http://dailypuppy.com/index.php?itemid=1642)
Sare - I don't even like dogs, but OMG!! They are absolutely adorable!! I could probably even be swayed, lol!!

Just sat here for 20 mins typing out a mammoth post and bloody lost the lot!! Shattered!!! Off for a shower now, so you'll just have to miss out on my latest goss until I can get some more time to come back and do it again!!
I really like Play School. I get to use the loo without an audience. I wonder if Jay would find that flattering?
Well you've all been off playing happy families over the long weekend, no regard for the nigelic peons you leave behind in cyberspace.
I had to have tea parties with Abbey and Elmo, run screaming around the house, hide behind curtains, and ... gah... clean!
Abbey has been sleeping through from 7.30-6.30am in her cot in her room nearly every night now. I didn't put her sleeping bag on one night and she woke up just in time to come to bed with me, where she complained and made us both sleep very badly. I should have stuck her in the bag and thrown her back in her cot. The next night she woke at 4am and I brought her into bed with me where she decided I was only good for milk and if I wasn't going to pony up the good stuff I shouldn't get any more sleep.
So what she wants, now that she's big and independent, is to follow me around lovingly all day, demand my attention almost every minute, until she is in bed and then she is finished with me. 'You can go now mum, I'll call you when I want breakfast. Go!'
Oh yeah, just wait until the next molar is ready, she'll come begging to co-sleep.
Sare - that's a very pretty breed, it will be just big enough for Lara to ride. How on earth will Eloise keep up the excitement for 7 weeks?
Kimba - hope you had a nice stress free weekend, and that your dh transformed into prince charming. How's Jet's sleep progressed? Shall I ask Abbey to give him advice on how to ditch mamma?
My bro was supposed to bring the mower back this weekend and didn't, so Abbey is confined to clothesline and pergola area (of her own choice), and I'm on snake-watch. I don't think a snake would come here, but you never know. That's my years of living in the bush showing. If I was a snake I would love to live in my yard. There's a cat that comes in and kills the native birds, its such a nice concealed hunting area.
Question - do you still take away/pick up small choking risks? Unless its obviously attractive, dangerously pointy, or I catch her putting it in her mouth for fun I don't really anymore.
Hey all,
Thought I'd pop on while I'm waiting for some dye to work on a black pair of pants. The bl00dy things had faded unevenly and I want to wear them to work tomorrow. Nothing like leaving things until the last minute.
Hope you all had a good long weekend. We did nothing! DH worked on our deck, so we've had hammering and sawing noises for the last few days...which means that I have 1 over tired 1yr old. Of course he decided to hammer right outside her bedroom window during her nap time. :fingerscrossed: it won't affect her night sleep. We haven't had a wake up call during the night for 3 weeks now. I just wish I could get to sleep earlier and then I could feel remotely human again.
Michelle - Playschool rules. Gotta love the fact that it's on twice a day too. Eloise will do anything to watch playschool. Lara's not fussed about it, but the second she hears Hi-5 she's glued to the TV.
re Eloise and the excitement...believe me she will. She's been excited about starting kinder for the last 8 months  Plus we've got our holiday to focus on for a few weeks too.
Lara's turned into a real parrot over the last week. She copies so much of what Eloise is saying. LAst week I asked who wanted strawberries and Eloise said Me Me, so Lara spent the next 10 mins just saying me me. You now ask her a question and she'll often reply me me .
Well better go and organise my lunch for tomorrow and pack a bag for the girls. Mum will look after them, and she has to take Eloise to her Kings Active class.
Night...
Hi all :) Been away for the long weekend with the in-laws. Gee, it was loooong  I actually like my MIL in small doses, but it was just too much. Apparently, by swimming with a bikini on whilst pregnant, people might be offended :banghead: I had to hold my tongue, I tells ya!
Olivia loved having everyone around on the weekend, however it meant that she refused to have more than 30min day naps each day... I am in bliss now we are home again and she has been asleep now for over 2.5 hours!
M_Jelly, no I don't remove all choking hazards, unless she is either interested in them and putting them in her mouth or they are obviously dangerous (pointy etc like you said), then I leave them.

Hi all,
I have ten mins to be out of the house to pick up Nedd so wanted to quickly say hi to everyone.
Then Hopefully I will be back later.
Sare- thanks heaps for the recipe, it looks awesome, I am going to cook it tomorrow night. We have been getting so sick of the standard boring healthy meal options lately it will be a nice fresh change,.
Speaking of healthy for all of those of us doing the weight loss thing how is it going for everyone? I am at 9kgs (over 12wks) steadily losing 1/2kg a week now which is perfect as I intend for it to stay off in the long term!
And so excited for you getting a puppy! Yay, I adore dogs, and would love another of our own (have agreed with DH that we will wait till Nedd is old enough to get excited bout it himself).
Michelle- had to giggle about the visiting the toilet alone....Nedd loves to come chat to me in the toilet...is it a bit too wierd that he has even started sitting the toilet paper in my lap in readiness??!? :o
Maryanne- hows the house hunting going lovey? I'd just go for a 12mnths lease too and deal with it at the other end. It is what we were planning to do cept we were lucky enough to find a rental on the market so the owners didn't really care what lease we wanted.
Speaking of rentals, I am off to meet up with DH this arvo to start picking out colours/plumbing/etc etc for our house, he thinks it is only weeks (like 3 or 4) away from starting so I am finally getting excited! We sat down on the weekend to pick stuff out so that we don't have a full on domestic in the office today (we have nearly divorced so many times over this house and our inabililty to agree on things!) luckily it seems we are finally starting to be on the same wavelength, or you could say I have finally worn DH down enough for him to just let me have my way! :D
Pam- Just had to say Grrrr to your MIL, I love a pregnant chick in bikinis, it looks so gorgeous, and I had a peek at your belly pic in the HB thread (quietlyl lurking there as it is my plan for next one too) and you would look absolutely stunnin in a bikini! You go girl! :goodvibes:
OK, best be off to get my munchkin. Lots been happening here so I will BBL :ecomcity:
I'm just killing some time before bed. I'm so tired, after a very late night and early morning (went to work today). So I'm going to head off to bed very soon.
Sal - Hope you like the lamb, as i said before it's definitely one of our favourites. I'm cooking it again tomorrow night. Well done on the weightloss. I've lost just over 6.5kgs in 4 weeks. I really want to do some exercise, but it's just too hard to go for a walk when I have both girls (We live at the top of a steep hill and Eloise refuses to sit in the pram). I'm going to make the most out of Eloise going to Kinder and take Lara for a walk around the lake and a play on the park as often as I can.
Pam - Pfft to your MIL. I would love to have the figure and courage to wear a bikini. Good on you.
I hope the rest of you are all well. Kimba that little man of your better be letting you get some sleep.
I'm off to bed with a good book and hopefully it won't be long before I'm

Mornin everyone,
Well I am one happy camper. We have found somewhere to live!!.. Its not through a real estate, its kinda a long story but just one of those right place right time situations. Very relieved:yelclap:
Kimba - Hope the 4.30am starts dont stick around. Thats not a great time to start your day:no:
Sare - How exciting about the Puppy!!... Eloise must be beside herself what with kinder, holiday AND a puppy!!!
Michelle - Nice work on Abbey sleeping in her cot for 11 hours. Re: choking hazards, that reminds me. We had a BBQ on monday and Darcy was happily eating a sausage. My SIL then pipes up.." I read somewhere that carrots and sausage are the 2 most common foods that kids choke on". I said..."gee thanks luv". Ah well..she enjoyed it
Pam - poo to your MIL... How small minded some people can be. Pregnant women are the most gorgeous sights I rekon.
Sal - great job on the weightloss. So cute Nedd getting your toilet paper ready... how very considerate!!!
Well I best be off, its my last day of 3 days off so I had better get some more packing done
Looking forward to seeing the Melb girls next tuesday!!!!!
Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been around much. TBH, it's been a really crappy start to the year and I just feel like we're coming out of the wilderness now. Ella is so much happier now and has slept from 7.45 to 6 for two nights running now so I'm starting to feel able to cope again - in fact almost downright cheerful!
Maryann, :yelclap: finding somewhere to live! Don't you love it when fate steps in (with something nice).
Sare, hope you caught some serious  last night. I highly recommend the exercise when Eloise is at Kinder - I've started lunchtime swimming again and it's lovely, makes such a difference to my energy levels (I'm only doing 6 laps though ) Ella and I also did nothing over the w/end - lots of lounging!
Sal, well done on the weight loss! Ella is also very keen on the toilet and especially the toilet paper.
Hi Pam, pooh to the in-laws, if they get offended they can go inside! I was always envious of lovely pregnant women in bikinis, I had a "double bump" due to my spare tyre so it wasn't for me  Anyway, the point is it's none of their business. :raspberry:
Michelle, yay playschool, we use playhouse disney for the very same reason! The only times I turn it on - toilet time or to read the paper for half an hour. That's amazing about Abbey's sleep. Just goes to show some kids will just do it when they are ready! We dont' have many choking risks in the house as DP is a neat nazi, but it would be pretty pointless in the backyard - little rocks and pine bark feature in our landlords yard design. Noice. And snake paranoia is totally normal - I do a "perimeter check" as soon as we head outside! Another bush kid I guess.
Sarah - sympathy on the missing post, I hate that!! Hope you can bring yourself to come back on.
Well this is getting scarily long - I keep telling myself I'll be on more frequently and type less...
Y'know, I never even thought to check for snakes when we go outside to play  We live in a semi-rural suburb too... Oooh.
Yay on the house Mary-Anne!
I need spamming with baby name ideas. We don't know the sex of the bub, but are set for boys names.
Boy will be Levi, but for a girl I like:
Elora
Hannah
Eliana
Any more ideas? Only 6ish more weeks to go. Holy ****, how am I going to cope with two babies? Having a meltdown here
Hi all!
Been MIA as we went down the coast for the long weekend and I haven't had a chance to post since we got back. We had a really fabulous weekend, took Jet to the local zoo twice, went to the beach, played with the hose in the backyard (yay for a full water tank!), ran around the farm, met the cows, patted kangaroos, ate (unsprayed) blackberries fresh off the vine, got lots of cuddles from Nanny, Poppy and Great gran, and played with cousin/ Aunty/ Uncle...I don't think Jet wanted to come home...I know I didn't!
Jet is sleeping marginally better, still waking at 4am but I've been tough and just ignore him, and he's slowly starting to resettle more quickly, although he still has his odd days where he just screams for ages or demands milk and I do have to get up, but he's definitely getting better. Sounds like he could definitely take some pointers from Abbey though!
DH has started to be a bit more helpful too and (if he's home) he'll often go to Jet instead of me, so Jet goes back to sleep when he realises I'm not coming. So it's all on the improve, slowly...
That said, Jet's woken with a runny nose today so it looks like he's picked up another bug while we were away - so I'm hoping he doesn't get sick and go backwards again! :fingerscrossed:
Last night I was getting a (free! yay!) haircut and it was the first time ever that I wasn't there to put Jet to bed, and DH did OK on his own (he NEVER puts Jet to bed), although he left the side of the cot down all night! OMG, this morning when I saw it I was so shocked, and relieved that Jet hadn't climbed or fallen out.
Pam - don't blame you for having a meltdown, I can't imagine having 2, one is more than enough for me right now! And for names, I absolutely vote for Hannah all the way, I love it, one of my favourite girls names. Hannah Grace is a fave combo of mine! Hannah goes with your surname, and sounds 'right' with Olivia too IYKWIM.
MaryAnne - nice one on the house I bet that's a load off your mind!!!
Sare - a spoodle - so cute! I bet the girls will love him.
Everyone else - well, way too much to catch up on really, but in reply to a few things:
re: choking. I still keep an eye out on small things because Jet still puts everything in his mouth, but I'm not as cautious as I was before. I'm more worried about sharp things or things that could break. He eats whole raw apples and carrots, and yes sausages too which are all meant to be choking hazards, but I always keep an eye on him and he seems to do OK. He has all his teeth now except 2 yo molars, so at least he has chewing down pat! LOL.
re: weightloss. Well done to everyone with their success so far! So far I lost 22kg (in 4 months) but had a week 'off' over Christmas, which then turned into a month  and I've regained 2kg, but now I'm back into it as I feel so frumpy and I'm hoping to lose at least another 5-10kg before we go to Indonesia in 6 weeks...running out of time now though, so I really need to be strict and stick to my diet!
re: playschool. Jet only likes the singing, especially when it's a song he recognises, but he'd much rather watch Hi-5 - there's no accounting for taste!
OK better leave it there...hope everyone is good and kisses to all the toddlers! :)
 everyone,
I'm hoping bub hub will be kind to me today, and not eat my post sending it into cyberspace!!
We had our first day at 4/5 yr old Kinder for M today. Was only for an hour today, but then Friday he'll be there for 3 hours, with T there for 3/4 yr old for an hour in the pm. M loved being back at Kinder, seeing all his mates, and even meeting some new ones. aren't children lucky they can make friends so easily?
J has his first swimming lesson tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it! I have to purchase him a pair of aqua nappies to wear as they won't let him wear the little swimmers. M and T start their swimming lessons on Monday, and are really looking forward to it, however they are both a little owrried they might sink without their life jackets on
J has been so cheeky lately....He loves giving kisses, and will pucker up and move on in for the pash. if your not looking, he makes sure you soon are, lol! He's loving his kisses at the moment, too cute!
He is also into feeding himself with a spoon. I can't even get close to him to help without a tantrum being thrown! It's not the best mess to clean up when he's got porridge, but it's all about them learning isn't it!
Another thing he's loving at the moment, is anything in a mug....He stood, stamping his feet in the kitchen on Monday because Mum wouldn't allow him to have her HOT cup of tea. I'd never seen him throw such a violent tantrum, and had to rustle through my cupboard to find him the closest thing to a mug!!
I've been finding it really hard lately to cope with M & T's behaviour. :hair: They seem to be constantly fighting and teasing one another, and they seem to have turned their listening ears right down to silent! I'm hoping that with Kinder starting back, and them having some time apart, that things will ease up and I'll have my nice little boys back again. I just seem to be completely exhausted..like NO energy at all. I'm fighting with myself, and the children, just to get up in the mornings. I'm lucky if I can get up before up 8.30am - mind you, the children are normally awake at 6.30am. I'm hoping it'll pass, but I sure thought it would have by now. Perhaps it's punishment for going back for number 4
Kimba: Sounds like you had a very nice time away. Also, good to hear that your DH is helping you out a little more. It makes such the difference doesn't it? Yay for a free hair cut too! they never go astray! I have a hair appoint tomorrow, but it's going to cost a lot more than free, lol!
Bec: :hugs: to you. Here's hoping that when Feb hits, your year will start getting better.
Mary-anne:[/B] :smiliedance: for finding somewhere to live! that must be a huge relief!
Sare & Sal: Congrats on the weightloss! It makes one feel a little proud of themselves doesn't it? A great self confidence boost! Keep on with the good work *places a good work sticker on Sal and Sare's hands*
Sal: Did my PM come through to you, or has that been lost in cyberspace too?
DH is coming home some time today, so best be off and finish the house.
Have a good day,
 GRRRR, I'm so cross with DH....can't go into again, I can already feel my blood pressure rising again!!
Here's the thread
http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=151280
Oh dear! At least it was him and not you, lol. If he ever says anything about your driving, you can just start beeping
Hey All
Just in for a quick hi. Been MIA with still being unwell and dragging myself back to work this week so very tired!
I have to say congratulations on all the weight loss girls!! I lost 4 kgs in my first week with GF because I couldn't eat so I am finally less than pre-preg weight. My body has changed though and I still have a bit of a pot belly! I don't need to los more weight but I do need to go back to exercise. I have been too tired to do anything for a month and it is driving me a little stir crazy. Summer hockey is starting up again onthe weekend but not sure whether I will be up to it.
Kayley has been adorable. She is talking so much now she copies so much of what you say. My favourite words are tickle (with the tickle actions) and bubble because they sound so cute!! She has also started doing the ei ei o in old MacDonald which I love!!
As for walking she still does it somedays and other days she crawls everywhere so I don't know! She can walk fine when she wants to but still prefers to crawl a lot of the time - go figure?
Pam - I can't imagine having 2 kids!! I still keep on DHs back about having another one even though I am not sure how well I will cope with one!!
Sal - you must be excited about the house. We thought we would start building by February but they are taking ages with the final plans (which still need to go through council) so we are not holding our breath. We haven't done colours yet. Who did you end up building with?
Mary-Anne - glad you found somewhere to live! Kayley eats anything now except for nuts and meats like salami etc so I wouldn't worry too much.
Oh and as for things Kayley can get her hands on - we are not too strict - just keep a bit of an eye out and if it is too dangerous take it away from her.
Well sorry guys no more personals. I have to run as I am aching now!
Best wishes for all of you.

Just on computer to print some stuff for work and was very excited so wanted to share-
Nedd started saying "I love you" last night (i-lub-oo), we were saying it to him and he started copying us....then he said it again when DH left for work this morning. So cute! Couple that with the multitude of kisses and cuddles we get all day long (he loves to make a beeline with mouth open tongue out for our face) we are feeling very loved!
OK, busy day so best be off! :hugs:

Hello lovelies
Sal - How beautiful, what a clever boy
Sarah - OMG my dh did the same thing a couple of weeks, though not in a new car. What we need to remember is that they are smarter than the sensor *roll eyes*
Beck - Hope work goes ok, don't do too much though as gf can rear it's ugly head again.
Kimba - Sounds you had the perfect trip away, how lovely.
Sare - That puppy looks gorgeous, the girls will just love it do death :goodvibes:
Not much to report here, just really humid in Sydney which in combo with my MS is not very nice:no: Had a lovely long weekend and birthday as dh was off for the weekend, we even went to my parents house for dinner without him moaning!

 a quick hello. we have been out at the swimming pool this morning with some other bubhub mums and bubs...
hope all mums and bubs are well
chat soon
xoxox
Note to self: Don't feed your baby a box of sultanas, a cup of juice, and a diced fruit cup in one day, and most certainly don't expect a terry flat to hold in the resulting excess. Who runs down a hallway while having a pants-splosion anyway??
I think I'll also ban a milo drink with her breakfast after this morning when she was too alert to take a nap until 1pm.
We did have a lovely sleep in until 8am though. She slept in her cot until 3am when I think she got cold, and then in mummy's bed for a snuggle. She didn't fight me this time, but only because she is cutting 3 molars at the moment. Mummy snuggles make it all better.
I have to vent about how useless the child support system is though. I haven't heard a peep from Abbey's father since Christmas, over a month ago. No visits, no phone calls, not even a msn to see how she is. I got a letter today telling me he had been reassessed at the minimum child support rate of $25/month as he is now unemployed I guess. My pay has been getting docked for a while now to accommodate the $200/month he was supposed to be paying, but the way it works is that now he is unemployed he doesn't have to pay it. So I got docked and received no child support at all. They don't care that he has been working almost all of Abbey's life, they assess on the previous financial year and if you chuck in your job anyway, well aren't you a clever father?
I can't believe I am obliged by law to allow him access to my daughter, but he is allowed to be a complete and utter jerk to her. He's been away this long, wish he would just stay away. I can live without his money, have done for 15 months, and we can both live without his parenting.
Look, I wrote all that without inserting the word 'loser', talk about taking the high ground!
Sarah - I can't believe he pranged the new car already! Aren't men supposed to be the gods of reversing? You are going to have something to rib him about for years - anytime you think he's being silly just make beeping noises and see if he hears them.
Sal - we lub oo too oo no
I wish Abbey would say she lubbed me. I say it to her all the time, and I get kisses (closed mouth with kiss sound) all over my body all day, but she won't say she lubbs me.
She has started asking what body parts are called. I have eyes, a nose, ears, toes, tum tum, hair, teeth, titties and fingernails. She only has a tum tum, teeth and toes on her body, the rest are all on me.
I ask where her x is and she will show me. I try not to ask where her eyes are before taking off my glasses though.
It was fascinating watching her discover fingernails. She was busy pointing at body parts and noticed something shiny was helping.
Aww Sal that's so sweet! :cloud9:
Jet says he lubs me too, but only after I say it, never unprompted. Sadly he seems to be over his kissing phase too, although still I'm getting lots of cuddles and wanting to be 'up' in mummys arms. He's started coming up to me saying 'Mama' which is cute...and I'm getting big cheeky unsolicited grins from my till now rather serious-faced boy.
Michelle - gosh that all sucks about the child support/ ex situation. I think it's totally unfair how you get docked on the assumption he's paying you, even when he isn't. Surely you should only get docked after the financial year if you show that you received the money...it always works in the governments favour though doesn't it...LOL at the titties  Jet knows where my teeth/ nose/ eyes/ hair are but still doesn't get it that he has his own, even when I take his hand to feel his after he gives mine a poke. I saw him studying his belly button for a full 5 minutes this morning though LOL.
Jack - swimming pool sounds good! don't know about up your way but it's so sticky in Sydney right now. You just reminded me that Jet's swimming lessons start back this weekend, yay!
Georgia - goodness me I forgot your birthday sorry love! :hugs: Glad you enjoyed it even with MS and this awful humidity.
Beck - I feel for you with your GF, I hope you just keep feeling better and better. Kayley is so clever with all her talking!
Sarah - replied to your other thread, but oh no! at least it was DH and not you otherwise you'd never hear the end of it! and at least now he can't ever dare to say anything about your driving...As for the boys fighting and not listening, you poor thing - maybe it's time to go back to the failsafe diet LOL! Jet's noticeably calmer now and I'm sure it's the dietary changes that are doing it.
Best be off...enjoy your evening everyone
Sal that is adorable. It's lovely when it's so sincere...just wait until Nedd does an Eloise, "I love you mummy and I just broke....)
Sarah - :shame: to your DH. I'm with you on not knowing how he could have hit the post with the reverse camera and sensors. Men, hey? Have you been game enough to check out how bad the damage is?
Michelle - I really don't understand how your ex's conscience can let him get away with not supporting his daughter.
Beck - I don't know how you have coped with GF, a toddler and working. My hat goes off to you. I hope you are getting back to your normal self.
On my front, Eloise started Kinder yesterday. I always knew my girl was fiercely independent, but I found out how much so yesterday. Now keep in mind that she didn't know any of the kids prior to yesterday, had only once briefly met her teacher and had necver met the teacher's assistant. We were walking the 200m up the hill to her classroom when she turned to me and said, "Mum, can you go now?" Well I walked her up and she waited to go in the room and the went in, no see ya later mum or anything. She had a ball. She went again this morning and is looking forward to next week when she will be on her normal schedule.
I officially start work tomorrow. It won't be too bad though because the other teacher will be there too and the preps are only at school for half a day. Of course, I have just come down with a cold and feel ugh. Nothing like a great sense of timing.
Well I better go, dh has just rang to say that he will be home late,so I need to the vets and pick up the cat food that he was going to get and some cold and flu tablets.
Take care girls...

Phew, just been a good girl and gone for a run! Now sitting here all red faced and puffed.....such a good look- not!
Well lots and not much has been happening here! I am so busy I don't know if I am coming or going half the time, I just keep telling myself (and everyone else who asks how I do it) that it is just one year, head down bum up, work hard, reap rewards, next year have baby, it just goes round and round in my head like a mantra!
Nedd has been a bit funny this week, after being away two weeks in a row I really think he was starting to suffer. I had a meltdown to my manager (who mind you is childless, single career woman on her way to the top) on fri in syd cause I had enough.....I was tearing up every other minute and really upset that I wouldn't get home to Nedd before he went to bed. She took one look at me and sent me home on an earlier flight which was lovely of her....pity I then got to the airport and stupid virgin cancelled said flight  so there I was in tears in the middle of virgin check in, not happy!
Suffice to say I have made the decision that I will NOT travel interstate two weeks running again, no matter what the circumstances, it won't happen again!
It was our 1yr wedding anniversary on Aust day....we went for dinner to the restaurant where we had our reception and they threw in a free bottle of wine and the meal was sensational- lovely night! And still as much (if not more) in love than we were 12mnths ago...awwww :valentine: :barf:
OK big issue with Nedd at the moment....he has a habit that he formed months ago of rocking himself to sleep- he sits up against the end of the cot and rocks against it, it has now progressed to him lying on his tummy with legs tucked up and headbutting the end of the cot. And he is doing it at all hours of the night- I was up to him not less that 10times the other night. Our GP has said to ignore it, its habit and will go away, but honestly when it is the middle of the night and all you can hear is this cracking bang bang which MUST be hurting his scone you cannot just ignore it. So I called up the MCHN and she wants to see us next week....I know she is thinking autism as headbutting is a classic symptom, but to be honest I really have no concerns of my own in regards to that- he displays no other symptoms whatsoever (I talk autism all day long with paeds for work so pretty up with it), but atleast she may have some suggestions as to what we can do, I am at my wits end!
Oh Sare, thats a tad sad about Eloise being so independent! Sweet and reassuring, but I am sure i'd be a tad cut up!
Michelle- Boo :shame: to your Ex, and boo to the government for having such a crappy system. Do you get back pay on the amount you've missed out on????
And re the poo- I had a giggle, Abbey probably did it on purpose!!!!
Happy Birthday Georgia! Hope you got spoilt with some nice pressies! :flowerz:
Beck- you make sure you take it easy! It takes a long time to recover from GF and it can easily flare up again so don't do too much....just enjoy having an excuse to take it slow!
Bec- I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were...hope you are taking care of yourself too.
Sarah- Poo to your DH, men, aren't they just unbeleivable! I love the idea of beeping at him whenever he stuffs up- don't let him live that one down for a while!
Nedd is saying more things all the time, and is definitely understanding more too. We are starting to actually all be able to communicate which is lovely. And I have been conditioning him to say mumma more and more (he copies me whenever we are driving in the car so it is ideal teaching time!).
He has also found his "temper" although at this stage it consists of throwing himself on the groun and crying for all of about 5secs, but we think it is pretty funny all the same!!!!
It's interesting with the body parts- Nedd knows his own but won't point out ours.
Oh and he knows Nedd is in the mirror now, if I ask him where is Nedd he will go to the mirror and point, still not sure if he knows it is him- but since he knows his name is Nedd surely he has made the connection?!?!
OK, I have rambled way too long! Take care all and hugs to the toddlers.
 everyone,
