What are some names that you love but can't use for one reason or another?

I LOVE Marley, but DBF vetoed it instantly. :(

I also like Acacia a lot, but I have a baby cousin with that name so I'm not sure if I would want to use it or not.

I love the name Layla, but my neice is called Shayla, so there goes that name.
I also love the names Jack and Max, but with DF's last name one sounds like a power tool and the other sounds like a cheesy p0rn0 name.:o

I'm not expecting but hubby and I were discussing girl names for our little one ( wjo was not a girl!) and we really loved charlotte and would call her lottie...we were dreaming of this little cutie and after 20 secs we both started laughing...put it with our last name and you have that popular children's book about a pig and a spider:D
I was gutted!

LOL Love it!

My DH and i both LOVE hayley for a girl. but now we thing Hayden and Hayley are just too close.
For boys, we both love luke, but we gave that to our 2DS as his middle name, as we didn't think we would have more... so there goes that one.

I love daniel for a boy, and Hannah or Anna for a girl, but DH hates them all.

I wanted to name DS Jacob soooooooo badly but DP said a strong "no" :(

If we had a girl I wanted to name her Bridgette but I received another "no" because DP's last name is Jones  he said it would be corny but I love the name Bridgette.

PS I think Hayden and Hayley is really cute together :)

I have always liked Hudson and Bella, but DH's cousin just happened to have twins and called them, would you beleive it, Hudson and Bella!

Also like Tilly, but we have two friends with a Matilda, and my Dad's partner is Milly, so that doesn't work!

Love Daisy for a girl, but would just sound ridiculous with our surname.

It's so hard to find a nice name that isn't already being used by someone you know....or someone you don't like, lol!

Lol, i never thought of that before!

With chosing names i think it doesnt matter if they are similar to other peoples kids. If you like it then just use it. When i had my DS we had his name picked from day one as Jayden. I didnt realise until the day he was born and already named that hes cousin on my DHs side is Aiden. I felt bad cause it was really similar but i dont think it really made much of a difference.

I couldn't be that cruel to the kid!

I love the name Josh for a boy, but DH said we can't have that because there is a Maltese word that rhyms with Josh, but actually means vagina! Since we are both Maltese, I guess that is a valid point. So, we are now thinking about the name Mason. I think we have both decided on Sienna if it's a girl. It's so hard to decide. I'm a teacher and everytime I come up with a name, I think of a child I taught and it usually cancels out that name. I've taught over 180 kids in my career, so that's alot of names elimanted.

I love the name Jayden, hadn't thought of it until I read this post. I haven't tried that one out of DH, but will do tonight!

I also love Bailey, but DH says it reminds him of Baileys, I love Brayden, hubby doesn't like that either, have also suggested Pierce, Connor, Bradley, the list goes on and on, the only one I didn't get a definite no on was Bradley so I will keep pushing that one and see what happens.

We don't have any girls names yet.

When I got sick of suggesting names with nothing but a no as a reply I asked DH to suggest some himself.... His response would you believe it was Bob! :D

I asked him about girls names and he said that Bob would work for either! hehe

He was joking of course. Some sense of humour huh? !

I always wanted a daughter named Maddison (Maddi) but I think it is too similar to Mason so we can't really use it.

Another name I love is Aimee but I have a sister AND a step-sister named Amy  Also love the name Isabella but can't have that as I have another sister named Isabelle, one friend with a DD named Bella and another friend with a DD named Ella

Nathaniel. He refused to even consider it, the git

Inaya. He said it sounded "flimsy", whatever the heck that means.

Violet. We both like the name but can't use it because it was his grandmother's name and it wouldn't be right in this family to reuse names like that.

Yasmeen. My best friend's daughter's name.

Sebastian. The name of an ex.

Natalie. Would sound absolutely ridiculous with the last name.

Dylan is a name I love. DH refuses as he went to highschool with a Dylan that apparently was a huge ****head.

I love the name Chester, DH reckons it reminds him of a cat.

Wyatt was the only name we agreed on when DS is born, we're going to be totally stuffed if we have another boy

I know what you mean....I used to work in childcare, and I've had to eliminate the entire names book I think  Much harder to decide isn't it?

Oh, that's ok...everyone's welcome!!

I also love the names Diesel or Axel for a little boy, but with DH being a diesel mechanic/truck driver, and already naming one son Mack, I think we'd get it hung on us pretty bad

i have a DD named Leila and it wasn't until she was about a month old that i realised how close it was to her cousin Kayla. it never even occurred to me once!! when i finally realised, i pointed it out to my brother and SIL but they didn't seem to mind..... not to my face anyway. i suppose i don't see much of kayla and she is about 14 years older than DD.....so that's why it took a while to make the connection.

i'm not sure what i would have done if i had realised before hand. Ignorance is bliss.

DF is a mechanic as well, and i love those names. Might suggest it too him, as him, his BIL, his dad and his uncle are all mechanics, might be good for a laugh.

Being a mechanic/diesel mechanic/truck driver must run in families.....DH's father and brother are also diesel mechanics/truck drivers too!! I'm sort of hoping it won't pass on to my boys, lol!

Well Lachlan was the only name we had picked out for a boy when he was born with Jayde Kameron for a girl.

We just can't agree on anything.

I love Chelsea but my nieces middle name is that! God forbid if we used it. We use to like Maddison, but have gone off that, even gone off Jayde a bit.

So many names and such a hard decision.

For boys I like Bailey & Riley and Wade likes neither.

Wade has had in his head since he was a boy the name:

Christian James Lyndwell

I don't like it cause it can be shortened to Chris and that is my mothers name. I think Lyndwell is some famous soccer or cricket player - I don't know!!!! But he is adamant in using it for a middle name.

So if only I could convince him of Bailey maybe. So it might be Bailey Lyndwell. How does that sound???
