Hi all,
I am planning on applying for uni at the end of this year... and am wondering how the uni childcare centres work?!
Is there a huge waiting list like all the other centres? or are you guaranteed a place if you are enrolled at the uni or soemthing?

I have my boy on a waiting list at a local centre, but by the sound of it, it can take years before they give you a place!?! ...and also I will have no idea what days I need him there until I am accepted into uni and have a timetable, if you get what I mean?
How on earth do I sort it all out?!

Any advice will be VERY appreciated!

Hi there!

I managed to get DD into daycare at the uni. Didn't even hear from the other places I applied for!!

Anyway, I had the same problem in which I didn't know what days I needed but if you let the places know that and why, they are usually pretty accommodating.

You can always cancel the days you don't need.

Anyway, I haven't been all that much help, but there you go!

Good luck!

Hi there! I had to wait till Anna was about 3 months before she got into childcare at my uni childcare even though I was studying full-time & had put her name down before birth. Apparently anyone can access uni childcare but they give you priority if you are a single parent, in severe (abusive situation) difficulties, and finally, if you are studying!
They didn't give me the day I wanted at that time, then came up with the day I needed when she was 7 months, & she has been there 1 day/week ever since.
After we got in I have to say I am very happy with the centre!!
