Hi, just wondering how does your breastfed child cope with going to daycare? I will be going back to work when my bub is about 6-7 months old, but I want to breastfeed past this. I also dont want to introduce solids until he or she is ready, Im hoping about 8 months or so. I really am not keen on the idea of a bottle, even with exressed milk as I am worried bub will start to prefer the bottle over me. :( At about 6-7 months how many feeds would a baby be having during the day? I am thinking maybe a nanny might be easier and I could take a break every feed time and have the nanny bring bub to me. But I dont know how much babies go between feeds? Im guessing roughly 2-3 hours?
I am lucky enough to work in an industry where I can take frequent breaks, but unfortunately at this point in time they dont have a creche available or I would use this and just pop in to feed bub whenever.
Thanks for any advice:)

I have DS in daycare, and i am still bf'ing. He is nearly 2.

You will find bub will be able to take EBM from a sippy cup if you want to avoid the bottle.

In my experience, the key is that from you, bub only gets boob, and other people only give EBM via another means when you are not available.

I pump for DS twice a day at 10:30 and 2:00, and then feed him when I collect him from daycare. He has a feed just before I leave to go to work, DH drops him off.

I drop the EBM at the childcare on the day it is pumped, and it is frozen there. That way I don't have to transport it twice, or risk forgetting it.

I have an Avent Duo electric pump, and can pump 100ml per breast in about 10 minutes with that. I recommend the double pump at work - better stimulation, better letdown, which means more milk faster.
