Any Advice??No period, Negative Test

I'm new to this website so please excuse any mistakes I make but I'm in desperate need of some advice. My periods are always regular, however, I'm now 10 days overdue and no sign of any period. I did 3 home pregnancy tests and all came up negative, Doc sent me for an ultrasound and I was told it was to early to see anything as I wouldn't be far enough and I then had a blood test which came up negative as well. As well as being 10 days overdue, I have very sore nipples, I was nauseas last week but not anymore unless I don't eat and my feet were swollen today after a lot of walking.... am I wishful thinking or could I still be pregnant???:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Well maybe it's just too early to tell!! Wait another week I say. It's frustrating though. I remember going through that before I fell pg with ds..... good luck!

no, I haven't been on the pill for years... we do have some fertility issues and this is the first time that I have felt pregnant or been this late.

Well that does sound very promising,i have seen alot of women on here that have not gotten positive tests till after 2 or more weeks late so hang in there and let us know how you go. Good luck to you.:fingerscrossed:

Hi Maddie

When I read your post I couldn't believe that I am going through the exact same thing as you. My af is now 16 days late with no sign of it coming and I have had four negative pregnancy tests and a negative blood test but I feel sick in the morning, sore nipples, breasts feel heavier and so on and yet my doctor says im not pregnant so I did a little research last night and found out that it is possible to get a false negative in a blood test:

Oh my god, that is so good to hear...... how frustrating is it. The doctor said to me you are definitely not pregnant but I'm also seeing a herbalist, don't know if you have heard of them "Sharkey's Healing Centre". They have been on A Current Affair and they are called the baby makers and I met with her and she said that I have fertilised but she doesn't know if it will be a viable pregnancy if my levels are still low which they were because the blood test came up negative. At the time of doing the blood test/ultrasound I was assuming I was a 28 day cycle which after investigating a bit further have found that I am a 32 day cycle so I wasn't as far as I thought. So I felt a bit better about that, but I can't be bothered ringing the doc yet and telling her because they are so clinical and black and white so I thought I would just wait to see what my body does now. I also read last night that if you aren't pregnant that your body sheds the endometrium so that's the part that confuses me. Because neither one of us have got our periods so if nothing was embedded into it you would think our bodies would shed it like it does every other month.

i felt the same way. i thought i was pregnant and the tests were negative. i was feeling what felt like contractions at irregular intervals as well as feeling sick my test only came up positive when i was 5 weeks along by my calculations. what do drs know anyway. go with your gut feelings.

Hey, im going throught the same thing at the moment. Im waiting for blood test results tonight. I am 2 weeks overdue, only thing with me is that i have no symptoms (that i know of).

maddie i am regular weight but have very irregular periods due to depo injection (for birth control). it did take me 14 months to concieve once i came off the depo but i didn't have many problem during the pregnancy.

try calippos i couldn't get enough of them during pregnancy. and slivers of ice. i used to sit there and crunch them drove everybody nuts.

I too am new to this site, but how good is it?
Like you I am late this month and have signs of pregnancy but multiple in stream preg tests show a negative result. Having been pregnant before I am sure that I am, so I think for some of us it takes longer for the tests to show up positive. For some of my friends it took over two weeks over their period due date. I know I ovulated on 29th Feb and I am still getting a negative result. It could be negative, but with my first baby I only got a positive result 14 days past my period due date.

This site is great, it is so reassuring to speak to people who are either going through similar situations or have gone through them. Thanks for letting me know what happened to you, I do feel better each time I get a message from somebody else who has experienced this. I have never been pregnant before so it's hard to sometimes work out whether somethings you are imagining or you really are experiencing them. I feel stupid discussing with friends all the time. But this time it is really different, I have never felt like this and I have never been this late. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will wait another week before doing a test if my af hasn't arrived. :fingerscrossed: I'm keeping mine crossed for you and everyone else as well.... one or all of us must be pregnant if we are all this late.

It makes me feel so better reading your stories. I too am late only by 3 days so far, but still it is very abnormal for me. I have done 2 hpt with bfn results. I have even just gotten them out of the bin to see if they have changed!!

I am actually not too sad if not pregnant, cause we have only just started trying, but mainly am just so concerned about what is happening to my cycle. I am never late, and just don't get it.

I have been feeling sick for almost a week, and very tired. No sore boobs yet thought.

I have an appt with Dr on Monday, but from reading your stories, feel it may also be a waste of time.

What now? Any suggestions?????? Totally confused.

I can only suggest you wait if a little longer if you still don't have any af and your results are negative. I still don't have any af and I'm now 13 days overdue and do have symptoms. I haven't been tested for a week now, so I'm going to give it a couple of more days before retesting. So if you get a negative result don't stress, is all I can say because that is what a lot of us are going through.. It is very confusing though because I'm always regular and never this late. So if I'm not pregnant I have no idea what is happening.... Good luck keep us posted....:fingerscrossed:

I've been reading your story, did they do a normal ultrasound or an internal one? I know that the normal one will not show up anything, but maybe an internal one might??? Maybe suggest to Dr and see what he says?

Hi girls miracles do happen i tried to conceive my daughter for 8months at last i knew i was pregnant i was late so i tested but bfn.It wasnt till 2 weeks late that i got a bfp.Same thing happend with my second but it only took 2 months to concieve:yelclap: :fingerscrossed: those who are ttc get pg soon:hugs:

I tested again this morning and I am 13 days past my period due date too and guess what.......there were two lines!
I wanted to tell you so that you might be hopeful and I really hope you have the same result. As I said to you a few days earlier, I too was getting no result until today. I tested the first wee of the day (after all night) and I got the result I thought. So, we can't all be mad like we think when the test says no, but instinctively we know.
I am bursting to share the news because I have to keep it a secret until my husband's birthday on Thurs this week and it's KILLING me.

Did any of you do a blood test to find out? I am scheduled to have one tomorrow, but am actually scared that it will be false negative too. I think that I am just used to getting negative results now that I am excpecting the worst. Any views?

I haven't done another test as yet, like you I don't want to get another negative result.... but it will be what it will be. I was really sick over the weekend but yesterday and today I haven't been as sick.... Ahh, hmm but it could have been under the HCG level threshold for the blood test! its so hard not knowing isnt it!

I have read that the blood test picks up as little as 1mg of HCG hormone, is that right?

Sorry to hear Maddie that you had a negative.

I too am in the same situation as all of you.

I went off the pill in early Jan, without even preparing for anything. Just thought would take each day as it comes. I remember my Jan period finishing on about the 17th and cannot even remember when I had one in Feb, I am thinking it finished around the same time. It's now the 27th March and I haven't had anything.
My partner and I went to the doctors yesterday and he did a test (not a blood test) which was negative, but he said that it can take up to 6 weeks after the due date to come up positive. Is that right? I don't really feel any symptons except for a bit of bloating and this morning sore breasts. I can't even work out how overdue I am as I don't remember exactly when I had my period in Feb.

This is such a naive question, but when and if I do get my period, when is the best time starting to practice you know what again?

Ive done 4 HPT all neg and had one BT on sat which came up Negative. But im CD33, 14DPO And no sign of AF??

I hate to dissapoint you. However I went through the same state of waiting and waiting and testing and testing after D&C I had two delayed period. This time it was 43 days. I had all the symptoms, breast tenderness, sick feeling and dizziness and all. However I got AF on 23/3. It is said that the symptoms for delayed period and early pregnancy are the same. The best advice is to eat healthy, be healthy and be prepared and take it as it comes. That is what I have learnt. If you are late after 7 weeks it is best to see a gyno. Good luck. Hi everyone, sorry for me not responding earlier, I've been away on business, however, I did get my period after all that. The doctor believes I did conceive, however, obviously not a viable pregnancy. I bleed for 8 days and if I had of got to 10 days they wanted to do a curet. All is well though and I'm back on track. My periods have now changed dates but I'm ovulating on time which is great. I thought I may have had a few months of confusion ahead of me. So we are back to the drawing board. After what happened to me I am confused as I have never had that happen before and I had definite symptoms, but like you said the symptoms can be the same for a delayed period as a pregnancy. Very confusing. Oh well I know I'm not pregant so we'll just have to keep trying and let it all happen. Thanks again everyone for all your kinds words and advice. It was great.
