View Full Version : Urinary Tract Infection
My 9 week old baby girl has been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. Is this common - I've never heard of babies getting them. She seems so young to be on antibiotics. Has anyone else's baby suffered from a UTI??

I have heard that it isn't as uncommon as you think for babies to get UTI! I wish I could give you some advice about the antibiotics but I can't! I just hope it clears soon!
My DS had a UTI when he was 3 weeks old. I know that it is very uncommon in boys and as a result he had to have an US on his kidneys and a kidney function test, both showed everything was fine.
Hope your little girl is better soon.

From what I understand, UTI's are more common in girls, and are not as much of a health threat than in boys... And in saying that, I think is it more so if there are recurring UTI's...
I feel for you DD, as I have suffered from UTI's and they are not pleasant.. I hope she is feeling better soon
