hi,

i have a 6 month old boy who tends to wake 2 times in the night, all i have to do is give back his dummie, rollback on his side and tuck in. Its so tiring as he is so active in his bed and it wakes him a lot.

I have read different storys about mums and success with GROBAGS? baby sleeping bags. I have purchased one and would love to hear anyones story if they have used them and what they think of it. Its meant to help settle them at night and sleep as they are warm and comfortable....

i would love to hear from anyone thank you all :fingerscrossed:

I can't say it helps alot with DS staying asleep but I guess I like them sleeping bags because I get more sleep not having to wake and go and put a blanket back on him in the middle of the night!

My DD has never liked being wrapped or having sheet/blankets on her, so I've found using a baby sleeping bag/growbag, very useful in this respect. I'm not sure if it does help her to sleep better, but it will prevent her from waking up and feeling too cold. There are summer/winter sleeping bags, and there are ones that aren't that expensive.

I prefer the cheaper bags, they all do the same thing!:smiliedance:

Like you I got the cheaper ones from PicknPay - $17 for the summer one and $30 for the winter one, much cheaper than spending $80 on one IMO and they all work the same like you said Oscar's mum:thumbsup: :yelclap:

I used a Grobag for my son last winter and it was great. The little man has a habit of throwing his legs in the air and kicking his blankets up to his middle and given we live in Canberra that was a bit of a problem. He still needed wrapping though so I just wrapped him over the top of his sleeping bag and he was fine. I've actually bought another for this winter which I plan to alternate with a couple of polar fleece ones I've been given (haven't tried them before but I'll give it a go). Depending how cold it was I'd vary his PJs - sometimes a bonds suit, sometimes a polar fleece all on one, sometimes cotton PJs, with singlet or without.

Hi Amymay, how did it all go with grobag? baby sleeping better now?
My little one sleeps a bit better with his (not Grobag brand but RedCurrant) and isn't waking up cold anymore...he also self settles easier too now as he doesn't move around as much in his sleeping bag. Must admit though, he's been sleeping on his tummy and this also helps him sleep through the night without waking too much....he's gone from waking and wanting either feeds, dummy, Mummy 5-6 times or just cold to only 2-3 times, on the odd night after a good day he'll wake only once or twice. I know this may not last (he's 5 months) though, so I will enjoy it while I can.

Anyway, hear from you soon.

sleping bags are great for my son when i can convince him to get to sleep lol he moves alto in his sleep so blanket snever stay on him. my only problem is finding sleeping bags in his size that are too thick for cold nights coz he sweats in them if they are too warm.

Hi Jessgray,

How old is your bubs? Mine is 5 months (5.5) and he is in a Redcurrant Sleeping Bag when it's not too cold....it's made out of a shirt type material which doesn't make him sweat (his winter quilted one does)...it's really long but he doesn't seem to mind...it also has the five point safety harness hole in it so he can wear it from car seat to pram to cot etc....I got it for $50 instead of $80 on the web. I think it's from modbaby.com.au if that helps. Otherwise the living textiles or curly tops have some nice summery material ones too. Your not supposed to, but I throw over a blanket if he seems to be little cold in his bag, he sleeps so well now.

See how you go.

My son liked his growbag when he was little. I was paranoid about overheating so got a summer one which was fine. However, when he was old enough to walk steadily he didn't like being in it as it restricted the movement of his feet too much.
