I had to use my first sposie last night as all my mcns were wet (ty to the rain) as were my boosters so i couldnt even boost my flats unless i wanted to get up every two hours to change her.
Thankgod for bounty bags and their 2 trial huggies nappies lol.
Anyhow indies bum is really red around the nappy area, not so much a rash but its quiet red which is like the start of one. I have given her bum a good wipe and since putting a flat on her this morning its eased apart from round her tummy an legs.
Did anyone have this happen with sposies? I am upset that i had to use one :( didnt have a choice but wondering if her and plastic dont agree?

Bump :)
My DD (who is now 4 1/2 mind you) got mild nappy rash on and off.
I was lazy and used disposables on her, couldn't bare the thought of cloth nappy's. I had a hard enough time doing everything else, so good on you for starters!!!
Anyway (:ecomcity:) yes, she did get slight nappy rash, I just put a bit of bepanthen or other similar creams to get rid of it or to act as a barrier to prevent it. My understanding is that it can be pretty common with bubs to get nappy rash from disposables, practically everyone i know has used a barrier cream at some stage to prevent it.
I would say that it may be more likely from her not being used to it, IYKWIM than it not agreeing with her.
IMO I'd say that if there was a huge problem it would've been a lot more than just redness?...
There must be a big difference in the way that it feels...
All the best.

Whenever DD gets a bit red in her area I use Gaia Skin Soothing Lotion. It has calendula in it and goes on really thick. Really noice stuff it is.....I use it on myself too!

Funny you should post this because I was just saying in another thread that we went away on holidays and only got back today- we used sposies the whole time we were away, whereas normally Mason is in cloth all day and sposies only at night. He started getting a bit of a nappy rash on the first day and I think it was because of the sposies! I was really surprised and it goes to show how gentle and soft cloth must be on their little bums

ohh wow *off to hunt for your thread*. I am suprised her bum looked like it had been slapped, thats how red it was, it was every pary of where the nappy was. She does have a few pimple like spots too but i did use some paw paw and its looks better this morning. Its so damn wet here and i have all wet nappies on the clothes horse, usually i boost her flats or put a mcn on her at night as she sleeps 5 hours. Last night i sat there making a few fleece boosters so i didnt have to use that other sposie lol.
I am glad its not just me, honestly i didnt think she would get such a red mark, although its not bad it is a little angry looking!
Now i have more reason to tell dh the benefits of cloth lol
