Last post for me for the day.

My question is this - is it normal for me to feel so angry all the time? I feel like I am on a rage binge all the time. Fortunately, DS has never copped it (I would never yell, hit, shake, harm him - he is the only thing in my life NOT making me angry!), but the world at large is in danger. Poor DH can't do anything right.

Everything is making me angry / hurt / worried / upset. And I take it further, usually by writing a lot of letters to Main Roads department, local councils, banks, Woolworth, etc.

DS is almost 7 months and he weaned off breast about 6 weeks ago. Still no visit from AF so I wonder if this might be what is making me feel so enraged all the time?

I have also stacked on a heap of weight (about 5 or 6 kgs) in the last 6 weeks or so and my hair is absolutely falling off my head in clumps.

Is there something wrong with me? Is it hormones? What should I do? Any advice? I can't stand who I have become - this person who is always looking for the negative and who loves to fight. It's awful.

Could be hormones...

I think a visit to your GP wouldbe a good idea they might be able to check out your hormones or refer you to someone.

I'm glad to hear your bub is not on the receiving end of this I just think it would be good to sort it out so you dont feel sad any more :(

hi,

could be hormones, could be PND as well. No, I don't think that it is normal to be angry all the time and perhaps an appointment to the GP that you feel comfortable with just to talk about this will be very helpful.

Hope that things get better for you.

I agree with the others, it could be hormonal..

I am with you with the hair falling out thing. Drove me nuts so the other day I got the scissors and now my hair is SO short haha. I feel so much better though because it doesn't "seem" to be falling out as much hehe. (I have had problems with hair falling out in the past due to hormones, so maybe your anger and hair loss is because of that?)

I can't say I feel "angry" all the time. I feel tired and am on edge sometimes due to the lack of sleep, but that's about as far as it goes.

How are you sleeping? Do you think you could be sleep deprived?

Maybe it would be a good idea to talk to the GP, just to rule out anything too serious. It's good you're asking other mums so you know whether it is normal or not.

:hugs: Hope all is good!

Are you on the pill/mini pill?

I started taking the mini pill when I went for my 6 week checkup. I was getting really angry at stupid little things. After a few weeks I realised it was the mini pill. I stopped taking it and I was happy again.

An update to everyone who read my thread / posted a reply. It seems likely that I have an underactive thyroid.

I am waiting on the tests (rotten time of year to get sick) but it is usually easy to treat.

If anyone has symptoms like I described (including weight gain, irritability and/or depression, hair loss, muscle aches, fatigue) PLEASE listen to the wise ladies on BH and go to the doctor. While you are there, ask to have your thyroid levels checked along with whatever other tests your doctor suggests.
