Hi all,

I'm a British expat moving from Melbourne to Perth with my two young sons (Aidan will be 5 at the end of July and Sean will be 18 months around the same time). I have a few family members in Perth where my Mother was born (she now lives in England) but essentially I won't know a soul and would welcome joining up with other local parents of any nationality/origin for chats/days out/walks by the sea/river - whatever. And if any of you enjoy games - cards, board games, puzzles etc. then so much the better.

I'll be moving across mid-September and will be aiming to locate in or around Como/Manning/Mount Pleasant - south of the CBD anyway because of my eldest son's school.

If anyone out there is interested in getting in touch, please, please email me:
nmcecho at yahoo dot com - or reply here or PM me...or..something. :)

Thanks!

Hello
I moved over here in Jan last year with my husband and son when he was 6 weeks old and we knew nobody at all.
Making friends was tough at first cause everyone I met kept moving away. But since joining the bubhub I have really made new friends and enjoy the regular meets. I live SOR in Canningvale and would love to meet up when you get here, just keep chatting on the hub and you will make loads of new friends in no time.

Bye x

Oh your Aiden (my son is Aidan) was late too eh?! Mine was 13 days late and still didn't want to come. He's run late ever since...

Good to hear that folk are friendly over there (haven't found that the case here in Melbourne sadly). I'm 32 going on 33 by the time I arrive. I'll lurk then and look forward to meeting up in due course :-)

Thanks!

Hi, :smiliedance:

I moved from Vic to WA 12 yrs ago and never looked back. Tho I have only been in Perth for 18mths I have found it a fantastic place to live. I am top NOR so a little ways away from u but hopefully one day when the whole of Perth meet up we will get to chat. Meanwhile this site is fantastic for chats, advise and friendships, you will have no trouble in finding a friendly person from this site to meet up with.

Good luck with ur move and hope to chat soon.

You all sound so friendly over there - thank you, thank you :-)

I'll be a single Mum too (partner moving over from the US but probably not for a year) so well and truly on my own. Tips welcome as I won't have family (other than very distant so treat as none) as backup either...

Catch up soon :-)

Hey Claire - are you from Britain originally also? I had the emergency caesar also for my first one.

Hey,
Yeah - I am from Scotland , Aberdeen. Where are u from?
Babies!! huh!! did everything go alright with your second baby? I am a bit worried, that even if I do decide I wabt more, that the same thing will happen and it is putting me off big time!!

Hi Claire,

I'm from West Sussex originally so we're from opposite corners! (My Grandmother was from Saltcoats so I guess that makes me a quarter Scottish?!)

I was worried too re: second baby - the doctor kept lurking but I told everyone to keep him out (no men thanks!). Fortunately baby no.2 arrived just in time and no emergency procedure was required. Phew :)

Some in the medical world seem to be of the opinion that once a csection, always a csection. Fortunately there are others who don't think that - and I'm living proof that it doesn't have to be that way! If and when the time comes, be true to yourself - so long as you don't put yourself or the baby in danger, I say give it a try. At least insist on being given the chance. ...but in the meantime, definitely don't worry about it!:)
