Testing question

I feel sad now! I was convinced I was pregnant.......my usually painful PMS did not show, and my nipples are swollen and sensitive......its only 1 day before my period is due.

However I took a test (fortel 5-7 days before your period) and got a negative result.....so I guess that means I'm not pregnant.

Yesterday I had bad cramping....if by chance that was implantation pains would that effect my readings?

Don't feel sad yet dude. I tested negative a week before my period was due and was so depressed and angry that i drank myself stupid and cried on the phone to my Mum "I'm never going to get pregnant WHINE WHINE WHINGE WHINGE".

When my period was due I tested again because I was a day late and normally I am mega regular and tested positive, YAYAYAYAY!!!
So don't be discouraged it may still be a goer! :D

Dont feel to sad hun. i know its hard especially when you really think that you are pregnant. But you still might be. The pregnancy tests only show up if there is enough of the pregnancy hormone to register on the tests, so if your levels are low especially doing it b4 your period is due then it might not show up yet.

I would suggest waiting untill your period is due or late and do another tests then. if you are still in doubt and your period hasnt come then go to the doctors and they can do a blood test to find out for sure.

Don't be sad.
I was two weeks late before my test showed up positive.
I did three test in the time from the first day I missed my period untill finaly 2 weeks later the fourth test was positive. I'm now 35weeks pregnant.

I'm starting to get that dreaded ache in my pelvis now, so I think maybe my period is on its way. :(

Oh well, if this means that my body has finally started to ditch the Phycho Chick PMS sessions then I can live with that too! :)

I got period, cramp like pains from when i wouldve started my first missed period till when it would've ended. I thought i was gunna miscarry but the little rasberry blowing chubba on my lap is proof that crampy pains are normal in the beginning. There is still hope :p

Don't be upset! I did a pregnancy test using Fortel on the day after my period was due and it was negative. 3 days later and still no period so I did another and it was positive!!! I guess sometimes these things aren't as accurate as they claim to be for everyone. Good luck! :)

I had 3 tests show negative and was convinced I wasn't pregnant. The doctor fixed that and confirmed I was.

Don't count any chickens yet.......

If I'm not pregnant, then its okay....but if I am, that would be just the icing on the cake.

We will be able to announce it on our 4 year anniversary on the 19th of May to our friends and family! :-)

Well I'm now officially 3 days late according to my calculations.

However my periods can range between 15 day cycles to 37 day cycles. IN the last 3 months though, they have all been 28 day cycles.

The one thing that has never changed is that about 10 days prior to my period starting I get bad PMS.

I'm 3 days late, and still no PMS....I might try another test tomorrow...I'm kinda scared to do it though, just incase its still negative. I'm so hopefully that I'm pregnant now, that I know its going to be very dissapointing if its still a negative result!

Good luck and I really hope it comes up positive.
I'm trying for my third and I think I might be pregnant, I have sore boobs and have no sign that my periods are coming, I usually get the cramps for the whole week before but so far nothing, my periods are due on Saturday but I have a test that you can do 7 days after intercourse so I'm very temted to do it this week sometime so we can tell our mums a nice little secrete on mothers day. :)

My only signs were that the regular period pains were not coming, so things could be hopeful for you too.

Be prepared if you do test with one of those early tests that it comes up negative (hopefully falsely). When I was 1 day late I tested with one of those (having already confirmed it with one of the more expensive pee-on-the-stick type tests) and it still came up negative. I don't think they're very good.

Now I'm 5 and a hafl weeks and no longer worrying about whether the test will come up positive, but whether I'll not miscarry. Pregnancy is one big worry!

Well I just has this *feeling* and went to the ladies to find Ive got some bleeding. So I guess that means that I am not pregnant.

Off all the times for my body to be kind and not give me PMS, it has to be the one time that I was hoping it was because I was pregnant. :)

Oh well....more fun trying again next month, hey? I'm sure hubby wont be complaining! :)

I re read through an old womens health book I have while I was waiting for my lift this morning.

Maybe one of the reasons we didnt conceive last month was I had a minor infection all month, and my hubby got it also. The book said that infections can damage the sperm and also can affect the mucous in the vagina making it inhospitable to the sperm.

At least now I know I'm not pregnant I use the drugs the doctor perscribed to fix it up, and maybe better luck next month! :)

We did have a 5 year plan, so getting pregnant over the next couple of months will mean that we will be almost spot on that! :)

Hi guys I found your thread by searching on "Fortel", because I did a test this morning. I had a miscarriage at the start of May (missed miscarriage diagnosed out of the blue....9 weeks pregnant...on May 3 at standard ultrasound followed by a d and c on May 6). I had several really hideous upsetting weeks, I guess the only thing that lifted my spirits is the thought of getting pregnant again. I am focussing all my energies on that at the moment, getting healthy and accepting that the baby I was carrying was not to be, and trying to stay postive about the outcomes of the future weeks and months, either I get pregnant...or...everyday is a day closer to my mind and body being healed after the miscarriage and closer to the next pregnancy.
I have been daydreaming about being pregnant again probably because my body is having some pregnancy symptoms lately like when I found out I was pregnant before, like slight backache, slight nausea when food is put in front of me, blowing nose a lot (all these were symptoms last time). I did a fortel test this morning and it was a BFN. I was really cast down even though I knew logically we have only really done the baby dance twice (on the same day) since my miscarriage and who on earth knows which days I am ovulating if at all??? But I also know that I am only about 25 days after the d and c, and we made love twice on May 18, which is only 13 days ago. So it is still possible although REALLY not likely. If I don't get AF or still have these symptoms this time next week, I might do another test, but I am always aware that lots of women don't get AF for months after a miscarriage. Guess I will have to wait and see, all I really want is to know that soon I will be able to try with a fighting chance!!! Lots of baby dust to you all.....
