View Full Version : Aug mums- whats your routine?- just out of interest
Hi August mums! I have a DS who was born on the 18th- and is going great guns, isnt this a great age! We are past all that neborn stuff and before teething - think!!. I was just wondering what sort of routines you guys have for your days? Have you started solids etc etc.
Cheers
ps i always tell my friends i dont have a routine, just a plan!! ;)
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL :xmastree:
Hi
Not much of a plan here either but Isaac usually feeds around 3 hourly during the day and is awake for 2 hours at a time...so if its time for a sleep and time for a feed he gets fed to sleep. Or else we usually go for a walk if its not too hot to get him to sleep if he's mucked up the 3 hourly thing and needs a sleep but not a feed! Sometimes he only sleeps for 30 mins. :)
I'm sure my sisters baby was having a morning sleep and an afternoon sleep for 2 hours each by this stage (5 months)....i hope it happens soon! No solids here yet.
No routine here. We start the day at around 7am and we finish the day anywhere from 7pm-9.30pm with at least one night waking, usually two or three. That's good enough....we're pretty busy so often she has to sleep on the run which means she sometimes she's bf to sleep, sometimes she falls asleep in the car, or in her pram, or in her swing or the hug-a-bub. Sometimes she sleeps in her cot, sometimes in our bed (of a night she's in the cot though) and sometimes she has a dummy, other times she doesn't.
She's bf on demand but I will top her up before I go somewhere if I think she'll need a feed in between (eg grocery shopping) but we pretty well just go with the flow. Oh and most nights she gets a bath before bed time but that could be anywhere from 5pm-7pm depending on what we're doing.
We will be doing baby led weaning so she will have solids offered to her from 6 months but essentially she will choose when she is ready for food (DD1 it was 9 1/2 months).
i was thinking about baby led weaning too but don't know much about it...didn't even know it existed until i read a thread on here!! might have to google :D

hi - no real routine here either, except at bedtime. always has last bottle (or top up depending on when he last ate) between 7.30 & 8, and a bath and all that. we start the day anywhere between 6 & 7am, he feeds rougly every 4 hours - sometimes longer??! jack will sometimes be awake for 2-3 hours, but once he rubs his eyes i know to put him down, and usually with minimum fuss.
i bought the baby wise book and tried the suggested routine in there for 2 weeks, but it just didnt work for us at all. so i gave it away and just let him tell me when he's hungry/tired etc. and he's a happy baby (except for the last week and a bit...think there's a tooth coming!! :-( )

We just go with the flow... no real routine here as well! The day usually starts early between 4:30 and 6:00. DS is demand fed.. is usually fed to sleep. Sleeps when he pleases...length and times vary. Bathtime is usually during the middle of the day when it's ever so hot! Bedtime usually happens anytime between 7:30 and 9pm.

Hmm i think maybe I am the odd one out haha...Kai has been sleeping through the night since 3 months so thats awesome - he go's to bed at 6:30pm-7pm then will sleep through to the same in the morning, he wakes up, I give him a bottle and his breaky, then he plays for about 1 hr, then he go's down for a nap, he will sleep for a couple of hours, wake up and give him another bottle and lunch, play for about an 1hr and then nap time again for another couple of hours, he wakes up, give him a bottle - he will usually stay awake now for at least 2 hrs playing etc, about 5:30pm I give him his dinner and a bottle then he will have cuddles etc and then bedtime. It is pretty much the same everyday, if we go out - he misses out on a nap usually but i try to keep it all the same when I can.
whatever fits in with the twins really.
He tends to wake about 5am.. and doesn't sleep much during the day.. a couple of one hour naps if that.
then bed at 6:30.
poor little guy is constantly overtired, but won't sleep in his cot, and everywhere else is too noisy for him to stay asleep too long.
