Ok so we had heaps & heaps of trouble getting Squeak to feed with his reflux.

He would reject breast & bottle so i often was syringing formula into his mouth just to get something into him if was a bad day ! I was lucky to get 100mls into him at each feed.

Now that his meds seems to be working properly he has started feeding really well guzzling infact.

So instead of screaming cause he didnt want to feed im now getting the crying, gagging, choking, spluttering etc cause he tries to take so much. He also guzzles 200mls at every feed which is awesome but then will scream for more but he is vomitting truckloads like he is over full !!!

Any advice ????????

Im also sooo excited cause he is starting to chub up & has a double chin & everything :smiliedance:

that's so great that the meds are working:yelclap: Could you ask your good doctor about the over eating thing?
The only thing I can think of is maybe you could increase your breast feeds now (offer before the formula and see what happens) because apparently they can't overfeed when breastfed, but you wouldn't think that looking at my chubba boy:p You might just get to breastfeed full time after all:thumbsup:

Over the moon for you hun... It's a great feeling isn't it....

If the bottle is the issue maybe trying a slower teat or lying down to breastfeed to slow the flow if that works... I know some mummies that had success with this...
When ds had no more pain associated with his reflux he too guzzled so i used a slower flow teat and it worked wonders...

Great news... Good luck!!! x x

We use variflow teats so it doesnt pour out & he treats it like he does the boob which is great.

He has taken 30mins with each feed today so who knows what he is doing lol !

Im trying to see whether he will take more boob our plan is to use this Christmas period to see whether it will work or not. Otherwise we may just leave it there.

I found when my little dd got over re-fluxing she what eat until she puked but then it settled down again, with the occasional over eating. My attitude is if she is eating, putting on weight and the puking doesn't bother her, it doesn't bother me. I'm glad you are getting through the horror stage.
