Hi guys,

My poor three year old son has worked so hard to get toilet trained and he is such a reliable boy :)

However on Monday he starts childcare (for Mondays only) so i can study my Uni degree and i am worried for him getting distressed and possibly teased because he still won't pull his own pants down and back up! Once he needs to go he jumps up and down in front of me saying "Take em off, take em off!" .
No amount of encouragement to do it himself has helped. Anyone got any ideas??

i was worried about this too when dd started daycare, as you sometimes have to ask her if she needs to go and help her pull her pants down, so i told the carers this and they were ok with it. but what happened is that when she saw all the other kids doing it themselves she did to. guess its like they say , nothing like a bit of peer pressure:D

i had some major issues with this too when Owen was TT. He is such a bashful little boy, he just wouldn't pull his pants down to go, so the first couple of time he sat on his potty and did it though the pants! he also had issues with public toilets and other people's toilets too, I had to force him to sit on a public toilet to wee, or otherwise he'd hang on till we got home.

I'm sure your little boy will start doing it himself soon, and like bronny-jane said, he might start once he sees the other kids doing it.
