I would just use a liner we havent had a nappy rash stint yet but i have some spare peices of fleece here that i dont mind throwing out if i have too :) Usually i use paw paw otherwise zinc creme if it needs a good barrier
Zinc cream should not be used with MCN.
Good substitutes are pawpaw salve (Simmons' brand is a better alternative to the Lucas' pawpaw cream), or cornflour.
Always use a liner if you are going to use a cream.

Thats the paw paw i have its awesome! So hard to get.
I have only used the zinc when older dd3 was in them, if the fleece is sufficient to cover the actual nappy is it still ok to use? Just wonderingthats all :) usually i chuck the fleece out though as i make a double layer liner if that makes sense

Try Curash powder. I have found this to be the absolute best for nappy rash, and for preventing it, and it's safe to use with MCNs

I use Simmons paw paw salve that I buy online from Ecobabe. Unlike the red container paw paw it is not petrochemical based. Only natural on my bubs bum. I order and it arrives in 2 days.

i use simmons paw paw too, but also curash zinc.
i only ever use cream (any type) with a liner.
i use fleece liners that i just cut out myself. they work brilliantly.
i would say you can use whatever cream works for you, AS LONG AS YOU USE A LINER.

Paw paw or Brauers Nappy Rash Cream which are both natural products & rub straight into the skin so wont leave any greasiness on the nappies

I would only use a flushable liner with greasy creams- if you wash a fleece liner with your nappies the cream will just end up coating everything anyway.
I avoid creams alltogether. Curash powder is fantastic! Still has Zinc as the active ingredient, like many of the creams, if that's what you want. But I have just discovered that cornflour is great too :yes:

I have discovered cornflour since using mcn...............it works!!!
Oh, and if you just need some liners to get you through a couple of days while the rash clears you can use homebrand chux cut up, will protect your nappy(use in more than one layer) and cheap enough to chuck.
Lucas Paw Paw ointment has nearly ruined my nappies. DD won't wear them as a result.
I think if you're going to use anything other than powder, use a liner

Try hand washing the affected nappies in warm water with a little dishwashing detergent and a vileda scrub sponge - someone else suggested it to me and it works really well. Then, just chuck the naps in your regular wash. Most of the gunk should come out.
I've almost stopped using nappy creams too - papaw is too greasy and rubs off anyway. Best nappy rash cream I've used is Calmoseptine - it works like magic overnight on nappy rash. Biggest problem I have is DH and MIL who just SLATHER creams on like they're going out of fashion - I keep saying it isn't necessary, but it doesn't stop them...
