We are thinking of moving to Broken Hill. Is anyone from there and can you give me an idea what it is like.

i was born there and i lived there when i was a kid and all my family live there too. All i can say is HOT!!!! Lol!

There are members on here who live in BH (Broken Hill that is, not Bubhub! :laughing:)

I live about 150km away and it's our closest major town and where we do our shopping.

I quite like BH. It has lots of shops (although the customer service in some is in short supply but I think I'll get over it :D)

House prices have certainly taken a big step up in recent years- all over Aust really though I guess.

What would you specifically like to know?

Hi... a few months late sorry... have you moved yet???

I'm from Broken Hill!!!

Born and bred (lived in adelaide for 5 years) and returned!

Quiet town, Yes house prices have gone up, but you save heaps on petrol - only 5 minute drive to anywhere! I only fill up maybe once a month!
we are in the middle of the desert, so yep pretty damn hot in the summer, doesn't rain alot.

depends what kind of person you are if you'll like it, if you love the shops and clubs you may be let down! But if you like the simplicity life has to offer you'll love it.
I always felt like i was sprinting around and everyone was dawdling...but now i've slipped back and take it easy too!
My partner is from newcastle, came out for a friends wedding... met me (I trapped him ha ha) and is more happy to grow grey here than me!

any specific questions let me know... or if you have moved here already, let me know too!!:)

Ha.. thats true... I managed retail stores when I was in adelaide and came back here, seriously giving my new employers a hard time... response.. "Pffft!"
