Hi group,

I'll be a first time mum. My husband and i will have been married just over a year when bub is born. She is an unexpected miracle as my husband has been very unwell and his treatment was supposed to have made him sterile.

I am 23 weeks due on the 22nd of August, and am excited and a little petrified. Having taught or worked in childcare for a long time I am overjoyed to be able to have my own to love and raise.

Anyone else live around Brisbane due at the same time? I am 23 and none of our friends are getting married or having kids, and I am sure they think we are a little crazy! :p

Hi,
Just thought I would say hi and welcome you. I have 2 boys, Angus is 4 and Caleb is 2.
It is good that you got your own little miracle, everyone deserves one.
Is your husband better now?
Dr's aren't always right, and it is good that they were wrong in your case.
Hope to chat to you again soon.
This is a great place to get advise. :)

Hi Bec,

Congratulations. It is amazing how nature seems to find a way where doctors can't.

Sorry I don't live close by, but I am a frequent visitor to Bub Hub.

I know what it is like to be married and doing the family thing before most your friends. I was married at 22 which seems so rare these days. I met my husband when I was 18, so we had been together quite a while before we tied the knot. We have one son, Alec, who is 18 months old and a new bub due next week!

It is kind of sad that we have lost touch with quite a few friends as we went off and did our family thing while they are still out partying. But I am so happy that I wouldn't change a thing. Besides true friends are always there and I have come to meet new friends since. Mostly other mothers from playgroups and even some long lost friends I haven't seen in years who are now new mums themselves.

Motherhood can be daunting and challenging but oh so rewarding. If you have any concerns or questions don't hesitate in posting - you will find the advice you will get back is priceless.

Good luck in your pregnancy and I hope all is well for your Husband.

Tracey

Hi and wekcome to the bubhub!

Congrats on your little miracle I'm glad you get the chance to become a mum as it is the most wonderful experience you will ever have! :)

Believe me working in childcare and being a mum is very different. I have done both (parenting is much easier)!

Motherhood is a wonderful experience that is very rewarding but can be challenging at times, but they are so worth it.

I wish you and your hubby well with his health and the remainder of your pregnancy!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. It has been a challenging time but the reward keeps getting closer! :D
My husband is doing ok at the moment but it is a five year wait before they call it in remission.

It is great to have a forum like this to be able to share and hyave support of other mums to be.

Tracey it is nice to know other people do get married young, people sometimes act like you are crazy to want children and a lifetime with someone you love.

Thanks again everyone
Bec

congratulations to you both, this is a miracle meant to be. enjoy it, and who cares about age, some are just meant to be parents. i am 28 and my hubby is only 22, but we both wanted kids and he is the most fantastic, hands on, loving dad to our DS. He is also the most loving and supporting partner I have ever been with.

I wish your hubby good luck and good health- enjoy this time

Hi Bec,

I am 22 years old and had my first child in january of this year, my partner and I are engaged. We were engaged after 3 months of being together and the birth of our daughter was planned. We celebrate our 2 year aniversary in july. It is great to know that there are other young couples who are starting families. I think it can feel lonley when your current friends don't fully understand the impact, of having a baby enter your life. Enjoy this most amazing time of pregnancy with your husband.

Best wishes and good luck.
