Finally we got some help!! :smiliedance:

DS has been struggling with kinder he still wont socialise wont play, wont participate in activities and just sits on the mat and plays alone all day, its soo sad :( yet his not encouraged to join in, which i havent really been happy about! Naturally the accident and head injuries etc are still a problem its been a slow process but i thought he would have shown a little improvement i guess now

Now i got him in for another year of kinder so this is the year i hope we can actually make a breakthru but now his going to have an integration aid there for 2 hours of each session, he does 5 hours a day two days a week, so he will have a lady come in to help him for two hours at each session (and make him in a non threatening way) join in with the others!! I am so stoked!!

Its so sad, he wont play he doesnt have any freinds as he is just happy being a loner, he hasnt been encouraged to join in so he thinks kinder is a place to sit on the mat and play alone!

I am absolutely stoked!! Plus this integration aid lady is going to attend a few of his OT sessions as well so he can feel comfy with her and have a familar face when kinder starts next year too which will help enormously!

:smiliedance:i feel so happy i could almost cry! I just want my little man to be a kid and do what normal kids do!

Wow that sounds like it will be a great help for him. Will put your mind at ease a bit more too that he will get the help he needs to make it easier on him. I hope he has a great year next year and that it is the breakthru that he needs. It must be really hard for you to see him left out and that he thinks thats how it is:(Poor little guy. I wish him all the very best:thumbsup:

Hope it all works out well with intergration.Hopefully he will eventually interact with other kids in kinder.Thats what i'm worried about with my son except my main worry is that he will not be able to interact with other kids as even now he can't see or even amuse himself with toys.I spend all day keeping him occupied as he won't hold toys or play under a play gym.I think he reacts to my niece but its just smiles nothing else.Heres hoping he can do that in the future.

Anyways best of luck and its good to see he has the resources to help him play with other kids instead of being by himself.

Merry Christmas.
