Hi there, i have a couple of questions :D

Well i put a BBH bamboo on him last night with just a PUL cover and when he woke up this morning it smelt like something had crawled in there and died! No lie! So i thought for sure there's a pooey in there but it was just a really heavy wet one. So why? How can i fix it? It didn't happen to the one the night before? Its the 1st time i have used it. i got it second from someone. So do i need to use more washing stuff or do i need to strip it?

Second question-

I brought 4 new BBH wool covers, and i also have a pair of shorties. How do i care for them? I just put them in the wash then on wool cycle and i didn't put any washing stuff in and when they come out they stank! Are they supposed to stink? I brought soem lanisoh (sp) from the chemist to lanolised them. Any tips?

Hemp can smell a bit whiffy when wet  I'd do a strip wash. Do you hang them in the sun to dry, or tumble-dry them?

With the woollies, I would use a good quality wool wash - I use a eucalyptus scented one, and they come out smelling lovely. To lanolise, just dissolve a pea-sized bit of lansinoh in a small amount of very hot water, then add that to warm water to make a big bucket of warm water, and then just put your clean woollies in there for at least an hour (I put mine overnight) then wring them out really gently, then roll in a towel to get the last of the moisture right out, then lay flat to dry.

The BBH's are bamboo, i hang them on the line. I thin i will strip wash them then. Is that where you just put them in the wash with nothing and keep washing until there are no soap suds?

With your woolie covers - you could maybe try some of the spray-on lanolin - they come in all different yummy smells - and i find that its easier to tell when they need re-lanolising cos they lose their nice smell.

Oh sorry, I thought BBH was for baby beehinds hemp :o My boy wears bamboo at night, with either wool or PUL cover. Was the smell like reeeeally strong urine?? Like, eye-watering ammonia type smell? My boy gets a bit like this sometimes, concentrated urine can mean he needs to drink more water/have more feeds. Or, as soon as you put the nappy on, he's wee'd, and has done quite a few wee's overnight (compared to a normal night).
Strip wash is wash with hot water, and a tiny drip of washing-up liquid (like, for washing dishes) and yes keep rinsing until no suds. Just a tiny tiny drip of washing-up liquid.

And yes I was also going to suggest spray lanolin (although it is more expensive) I have one that is "Biscotti and Nuts" and it smells like a little gourmet coffee shop :D
