initially i lost about 3 kg due to not eating and vomiting, now I am 1kg above my pre-conception weight. So that's ok.

My pants tell a different story though, as my uterus has well and truly popped out!

Gee you girls are good. I am 15weeks and I've put on 3kgs already. It all seemed to go on really quickly & I was eating to stop nausea feelings constantly. Now I am slowing down my eating a lot & seem to be craving a lot of fruit in between meals (I love summer fruit too - yum)!!

Between my first ob appointment at 10 wks and my last one at 15 wks 2 days, I'd put on 3kgs :( I grew out of normal clothes pretty fast :o

I've always been a yoyo dieter, either on a diet and exercising or eating too much and being lazy so I've struggled to find the in between stage (i.e. normal healthy stage!) of eating and exercising without dieting.

I'm not going to diet, but I have decided to cut out all the junk food and start exercising again. I've just felt so tired and lazy and energy levels just picking up a bit now so I really should make an effort. It doesn't help that DH can eat anything he wants and hardly does weights/exercise and yet still manages to look buff and trim :hair:

k8y - Don't go without. If you feel like something, have it. Especially during pregnancy, cravings seem to be your body telling you what it needs.

On a lighter note, when I logged on and saw this weight thread has popped back up again I realised I haven't been on the scales since I was 12 weeks and getting blood tests done. Back then I was 54kg, only 1kg heavier than pre pregnancy. I am now (drumroll please......)

A WHOPPING 6 KILOS HEAVIER THAN PRE PG WEIGHT AT A GINORMOUS 59 KILOS!

I have never been heavier than 58 kilos... but am stoked as I look pregnant and I am HEALTHY!!!

I havent weighed myself in ages... I dont have a scale in the house (dont believe in it) so have to wait till I go to the doc or midwife. (or to my MIL)
I know I've put on weight though. Its weird, I dont put on weight when not pregnant. I eat what I want and stay the same... always between 50 - 52kgs. I get pregnant and the kgs just keep piling on! I really dont mind though. I put on over 20kgs with DS and had lost all of it within about 6months... my body never quite went back to the way it was though... hips are still bigger :o

59kgs is nothing - you should feel good with that :) I'm usually around 64 - 65kgs but packed on a whopping 3 kgs over winter. Just started a diet to lose it when I realised I was preggy and had to stop. So I've packed on another 3kgs, bringing me up to a grand total of 71kgs. By the end of this pregnancy, I'll likely surpass DH in weight and everytime I see my wobbly cellulite thighs in the mirror I want to cry :(

I'll be your whale buddy too!! I just KNOW I am going to put on heaps again!!

When pregnant with DS - at abour 6/7 months - DH got pnuemonia and was in hospital. He was very sick and lost HEAPS of weight. When he finally got out of hospital I weighed more than him!! Lets just say I cooked heaps and made sure he piled the weight back on till he was healthy looking again!!

InGi, i think im in the same boat as you.

My Dr weighs me every time I see her. But I think that if you are eating well, it doesn't matter whether you put on much weight or not.

When you guys were feeling sick and :barf:, I was eating, making sure I didn't feel sick. I felt sick in the first 3 months ONLY when NOT eating... hence the weight gain. It was all to fend off the morning sickness... so it was for good reason!!! :D

Mind you, I am very very short, so 6 kilos is HUGE for me. I still don't care - I say BRING IT ON! I love looking pregnant. I can't wait until I am the MOTHER WHALE!!!

AS long as they can see that you are growing and the baby is getting bigger, it shouldnt really matter too much what the scales say.

I am almost 19 weeks now, and I have only gained 1kg. Part of me knows that I probably should have gained more but I know I am still eating normally (never had morning sickness). By this stage of my pregnancy with DD I had lost 3-4kg so I'm feeling good that I have gained more weight with this pregnancy so far than with the last lol.

People keep pushing food onto me saying "You have to eat more, you are eating for two", like all of a sudden I must eat DOUBLE for the sake of my baby. Its hard trying to explain how thats not the case, and that I just eat when I am hungry until I am not hungry anymore. Apparantly, some people think thats not good enough lol

Last time i looked into it, the average number of KJ a woman needs to increase her diet by when she is pregnant, is the equivilent to an extra slice of bread each day!

That should explain to food pushers why the 'eating for two' doesn't really apply :D

I am currently 62kilos from starting weight of 53kilos.

Anyone else done worse than a 9kilo pile-on???

I was 53.5kg before pregnant, now 58.5, well that was last week. So will have to weigh myself tommorrow morning.

SK6 - Are you tall? I am about 156cm tall so quite short. Since we weighed the same pre pregnancy just curious really...

Oh a nice lady came into the shop today with a little 13 week old called Sienna. She had a Baby Bjorn on and swore by it. She said her girlfriend borrowed it to try it out for a couple of days and ended up buying her own. She also said she had her baby at Selangor and she said they were wonderful and sooooo helpful. I have hear nothing but great feedback from that hospital, so you're in great hands... I will be too if this house doesn't sell soon!

ugh I've gained over 10kg ... BUT I have barely moved and have been forcing food into me

http://baby2see.com/pregnancy_weight_calculator.html

that will tell you what a "reasonable" weight gain is ... but I wouldn't worry too much, I think there may be spurts of gain and then it will be stable for a while (...I *hope*)

tuttifrutti - You are carrying two, so have an excuse! I LOVE your avatar though - Beautiful.

According to the link, I should be about 58kgs... oh well, close enough! I am enjoying it all.

DH and I were just talking about how some people can't wait to HAVE the baby. My sister said last night that she just can't wait to get it out already. I can. I am enjoying this while I can. DH asked if I LIKE being pregnant and I said that I do. He said he's happy because he knows I'm not having the happiest time at work at the moment and I am frustrated about the house, etc, so he likes that I have this to enjoy. I like it too! Even the getting fat bit!

I was tring to loose weight when I got preggers..about 6-10kg.
Average pregnancy gain is 10-15.

I'm staying away from scales as don't like the thought that I will be 16-20...potentially 25kg more then my ideal weight by the end.

Have decided to try and NOT look... I don't have scales at home thank god.

I was weighing myself at work, and went weeks without hardly any gain. Though think last time I did it I was about 4kg....mademe panic that I was near half the wt gain and not quite halfway at the time..

But then what can you do about it....
So figured..try not to eat much cr@p, exercise reasonably and DON'T look:no:

She types just having eaten a Cherry Ripe.. and having spent all day on bed, and not going to usual swimming or dance class due to back pain...

I couldn't possibly go with that plan... not with the mini Pavlovas waiting for me in the fridge.... after my carb packed Ravoili in spinach and bolognese sauce that I am currently eating.... mmmmm..... will have a bath after dinner and then eat my pav with a fresh berry smoothie. Bought the berries on the way home. Can't wait! I know why I am piling the weight on. I have SOOO many meals a day - the last being at about 10pm when I have a bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes - so that I don't get hungry during the night!

I have finally put on weight in the last few weeks. I have now put on 6kg since this pregnancy started. I weight more than I have ever weighed in my life and put on more weight than I ever have. Its really bizarre!!! All part of pregnancy. I am not eating lots though. Just my normal amount of food, I dont feel any hungrier. So I figure I dont need to eat more.

NMTB, Im just shy of 170cm, or 5'7", so I'm on the taller side.

I look like a pregnant pretzel!

I'm covered in ant / mozzie bites, driving me nuts!

That bad I'm going to put some vinegar on them to take the sting out. Yes I will smell, but I wont itch.

Ingi- I put on 15kgs in my last pregnancy but it was a pretty even gain throughout for me. I had put on 3 kgs in the first 3 months and then it just kept going up!

I lost 13kgs in the 2 days i was in hospital after giving birth and then never lost the other 2 oh well... So i am not so stressed about the weight gain this time, i remember getting very upset everytime i had to get on the scales.

It's funny now i'm not worried about the weight i have only put on about 3kgs. My doc appt is next Monday so we'll see what his scales say.

I've put on about 6kgs so far at 24 wks. THe gain has been a bit slower this time & I ended up 12-13 kgs heavier with my first pg but it came in stages and crept right up in the last couple of weeks.

From memory I lost about 5 kgs in the first week or so and the rest graually dropped off over a few months just from breastfeeding & running around. Didnt' really diet as such as barely have time to look after yourself!! I ended up about 4 kgs lighter than before I had the bub after about 5 months which was good.

This time I started at a lower weight (about 66kgs) and it has come on really slowly - the most recent couple of kgs in the last few weeks. (good holiday with lots of food!)

So hopefully I can stay under 80kgs this time!! But whatever happens happens I guess. It seems common that those who are really light to begin with (ie under 55kgs or so) tend to put on the most but bounce back like an elastic band! I have two friends who were about 48kgs start who put on about 25kgs & sure enough it was all gone in a matter of weeks.

Oh to be so lucky....

lambkin
26-02-2008, 05:48 PM
6kgs so far for me too, but I was 'obese' to start with so I'm a bit ""eeek!" about that.
I keep reading that bigger women tend to put on less weight than average (or even LOSE weight overall), but I guess everybody is different :)

The hospital people don't weigh me (at my request.. scales are scaaary!) but my GP is a little old fashioned and made me jump on. Bah humbug!
