hi all

ok .. so we had a tradition in our family - that went back a really long time .. my grandfather had a christmas light bulb .. that would come out - and be used only for the three days over christmas (eve, day and boxing day) - then would be put away for the year. As kids we LOVED that bulb (so simple ... yet special as we rarely saw it) ..

anyway :( last year .. the bulb blew ... (slack bulb had only been around for over 20 years ) ..

PLLLLLEEEASSSEEE can you help me find one anywhere in australia??? I would love to replace the one the blew (yes yes .. I know I've left it late - it was only when chatting on the phone to mum that I THOUGHT about replacing it )

here is an item on ebay (US) that is pretty much the same thing ... (I spent over an hour on the internet searching, computer-legend Seekrit took about 10 minutes to find the store and product - thanks Seek :D )

but I cant get that here in time for Christmas (no pressure!!) .. surely SOMEONE here in australia does something similar???

help!! pleeeeeease!!

Can you get an arty friend to paint a bulb for you?

I know DD used to decorate them at Daycare as a christmas present.

You forgot "Beautiful" Jen...

Nic - the special thing about the bulb is that it's the filament that is shaped, nothing to do with the actual globe itself :/

jen it wouldn't hurt to order the bulb as a spare for next year. if you do it now you will have it by then.

then print out a piccy of the bulb or take the blown one (if you can still see the shape) and try all the different lighting stores. someone might have seen it - it will take some legwork tho. (and driving around)

i will keep my eyes out for one for you.

Dh (Electrician) says the chances of finding somthing like that in Aus is pretty slim, sorry Veve ..

Also the US one needs to be 240 volt for it to work here so make sure you find out before getting it

Have you tried The Christmas Cave, its a on-line christmas shop that also has a shop outlet at Underwood, Qld.
There is a phone number on the website if you want to ring them.

Just goggle "The Christmas Cave" and you'll soon find it.

Best of luck in finding it.

What about this (http://www.baronbob.com/christmas-treelightbulb.htm). But its an american site I think so you may have to find out it fits in aussie sockets.
