Hi All,
I just wanted to put a feeler out to see if anyone else is feeling the baby move (or potentially). I am 16 weeks and I am a small build with this is my first baby. Is it possible for me to feel the baby move yet? Over the last few days I thought possibly, Yesterday I thought for sure I felt the baby move. I had like a wave motion feeling towards the middle to the top of my stomach. It was a very strange feeling and one that I have certainly not experienced before. Has anyone else had this?
Also I am getting conflicting info over the net about when the baby can start to hear inside the womb. Can anyone give me some info? The What to Expect when you're expecting website says at approximately 16 weeks the bone in the ear has formed and the baby can start to hear but elsewhere I am getting different responses.
Take Care all

congrats! that must be awesome
i read in my book the other day you can feel movements anywhere from week 14 to week 22, with most around week 16-18. If you are slender or have had a previous child, you may notice them the earliest
from memory, the hearing isn't until later, I think week 22 or 24 but I'm not totally sure

I am only 13 weeks with my first but I SWEAR I felt something wierd last night. I have been concentrating trying to feel ANYTHING for the last week as I read you can feel it anywhere between 12 weeks and 22 weeks. Since reading more into Anterior placentas I have not been expecting anything but I felt something last night that was very low in my belly. It was a kind of rumble from left to right across the front of my belly. It wasn't gas as gas has been giving me nice little sharp pains. I have NEVER felt this ever before.
I am still not 100% convinced as this is my first PG and I have an anterior placenta I know the odds are against me but I hope it was...
I am definitely going to be looking out for it as much as I can!

I felt DD1 move at about 18 weeks. With this one I have been feeling movement when I lay on the couch at night, but only for about the past week.
I would describe it as bubbles popping in the tummy. Very weird, but very cool:yelclap:
I'm not sure about the hearing.???
I'm somewhere between 12-13 weeks with my first and once or twice at night I have felt what I can only describe as "butterflies", but low in my pelvis. Both times late at night lying on my tummy.
It's probably gas:D....though that tends to "bubble" or be sharp.
It's not a feeling I ever remember before...so maybe it's baby!!

ok, i found this web page which gives an interesting over view of the development of senses http://www.birthpsychology.com/lifebefore/fetalsense.html
hearing can start at 16 weeks but the ear is not fully developed until 24 weeks

Hey, i'm from the April 08 area but thought i'd pop in and say that i felt my baby's first movements at about 18-19 weeks pregnant (i'm now 24 weeks) and to start with it felt like somebody poking me from the inside, she's moved everyday since:) Very soon you will be comforted by these weird movements. This is my first baby also, and that is the best way i can describe it to you. it gets weirder trust me... i swear my baby was doing rolly pollies in my tummy on wednesday lol!
All the best!:D
