View Full Version : Blood test for ovulation, were you right?
We all assume we O on certain days due to OPK, temping and CM, but have you ever had a BT after O and the results came back that you were wrong/right?
I assume I O cd 17 based on the above, but I am also thinking, what if I am wrong!
How do they know what day you O'ed, is it the rise in progesterone? (Which I thought would be different for all women)
Thanks!
Hi Singa
From what I understand, they can't tell which day you o'd from a blood test afterwards, the blood test (the P4 b/t usually done 7 days after you think you o'd) only tells you whether you did o or not. The progesterone has to be above 10 on a natural cycle or 15 on a medicated cycle.
You can have a b/t to pick up your LH surge and you will o 12-48 hrs afterwards but this is the same as an OPK.
Hope that helps :D

Yes you are right Lilth,
I have had several bt on day 21 to test your progesterone levels which tells wheather or not you have ovulated.
but i am not sure if a bt will tell exactly when you ovulated!!!
Thanks for that. I have read a couple of posts by ladies saying their BT indicated when they O'ed, I thought that was a bit odd. I will be 7dpo on Sunday and might get a BT, I had a LH surge after seeing two nice follies (one too big) but am still paranoid that maybe I didn't O from them....
THANKS!
