A nice photo in a nice frame is always nice but ive been looking myself & have found on ebay a lady who does blessing/ christening candles & she does smaller ones for godparents ! They are absolutely gorgeous i must say !
So take a look at them if you want something like this just go to ebay & do a search on naming day or christening candles.
Good luck !
My problem is trying to work out a suitable gift for my cousin who is doing our blessing on Saturday !!!! Im going insane trying to work out what to get :banghead:

We didn't buy the godparents anything for the actual day...but we did frame a photograph of Jesse & Lucas and gave them each one.
If I'm ever out and see something with godmother or godfather written on it (such as a mug, photoframe) I do buy it for them.
I wouldnt go overboard. A nice picture of bubs in a lovely silver frame would be really nice.
You can get some really nice frames in Myer.
Wow we all posted the same answer at the same time!!

I just found on eBay a lady who makes matching christening candle & stole sets and they are just stunning..........and so much nicer than what I've seen in the shops for pretty much the equivalent money. Thanks allyoo for the idea!
Now I'm still stuck on what to get the Godparents to be :o
The frames sound great, maybe also a "gift" like a DVD player ( I know sounds expensive but they are quite cheap now ) or Mini Ipod engraved on the back or something?:fingerscrossed:
We didnt buy anything for them on the actual day.
But for Christmas we bought them personalised godmother/godfather frames and had them engraved.

For O's godfather we got a black t shirt embrodiered with THE GODFATHER on it lol he loved it but its not for everyone.
As O's godmother is very religious we got her a lovely bible with a pic. of O and an inscription on the inside of the cover....she loved it!

Actually I found this awesome website last night which has the most brilliant gifts for Godparents including tops, caps, bags etc with 'The Godfather' or 'The Godmother' printed on them:
http://www.guidogear.com/godparents.html
Perfect stuff that I would love to buy............only prob is that they don't ship to Australia............which I could get around but I've run out of time to do it this time anyway. Had to laugh too because one of my dogs is called Guido :D
I'm thinking of ordering one of these frames for each of our Godparents which lets you put in a stamp of your bubba's hand as well as a photo:

We didn't buy our daughter's godparents anything on the day, both times I was godmother I did not receive anything. I personally feel for me it was the honour of being asked to play such an important part for that child. This did more for me than any gift would have.

I went to Parklea markets and got two wine glasses, we only had two of the aunties one from each side as god parents.
anyway we got two wine glasses had them engraved with Godmother and jacks christening day and name and stuff, then on the bottom engraved love Catherine and Daniel.
They looked so beautiful and very expensive but only cost us $5 each. For the cup and the engraving and they are something beautiful that can be kept forever.

We had 4 godparents and we went to Tiffany & Co. to get some special gifts. Its not as expensive as it sounds either. We got 2 champagne flutes (which were about $45ea) and we got the godfathers cufflinks, the other godmother got a gorgeous silver chain... I just love the little blue boxes I think!

That sounds great PrincessT. Do Tiffany & Co have a website that us poor, deprived Adelaideans can order from?
After me, DH and DD trudging around last Saturday we ended up doing the norm and buying nice silver frames which we got engraved "To my Godmother/father, Love Gemma XOXO". They do look quite gorgeous though.........especially with the cute piccy of Gem in it. There really isn't anything decent in the shops for Godparents (in Adelaide anyway!).
