View Full Version : Cot bumpers?
Lately I've been finding DD's head pushed right up against the inside of the cot, as she rolls around in her sleep. And often her arm or leg is hanging out the side through one of the slats on the cot...
Do they still make cot bumpers for inside the cot, or are they a SIDS risk?
Does anyone else have the same problem? What can you do about it?

You can still get them and yes i feel they are still a sids risk. There is a mesh like bumper that you can get now though (havent had one myself) which prevents bubs arms and legs from hanging out the cot, if ever i was goin to use anything i would use one of these :)

My daughter did the exact same thing. I bought a special SIDS approved cot bumper called AIRFLOW WRAP. You can get 2 different models, one if your cot is slated all the way around and the other if you have solid ends.
They only cost about $50 and are fantastic. The fabric is completely breathable if they lie against it but sturdy enough to stop arms and legs getting through.
My daughter is sleeping better since we put ours on.
Cheers!

Yes, they are available, and yes they are a SIDS risk.
I think you'll find that a lot of babies end up like this... but I just let it happen anyway. I'd much rather that than discover her dead in the morning...
I was quite paranoid about SIDS.

Also to help ease your worry about sids use an angel care breathing monitor. I wouldn't know what I'd do without mine.
Helps you rest easy!!
PS. You're photos are so cute, how do you make a full page like you have? (I am new to bubhub!)
they still make them
I've got some... shoot me. *shrug*
But you can by ones now that are made from breathable mesh... so they stop bubs getting arms and legs stuck, but still allow air flow.
This is them!
