:D Not that I mind pink nappies......

So last night I tipped the nappy basket into the washing machine, set it to a hot wash, then before I went to bed, through half-asleep eyes, I chucked them into the dryer. This morning..... I discovered someone had put their red  t-shirt into the nappy basket..... so all my lovely tots bots bamboozles and BB bamboo's are PINK :crying::hair::laughing:

I know you are not supposed to soak MCN's, but if I splash bleach on myself, that bleaches my tshirt without needing to be soaked - could I just dip these nappies into a bleach solution? Or leave them in there for 5 minutes, before running them through a cold rinse??

It's no big deal really, they're fitteds so they usually have a cover over them anyway.
But just thought I'd check if I can dunk them in bleach - surely that won't hurt the elastic, will it? There's no PUL involved.

I dont know if it would ruin the fabric or the abdorbancy, but i have previously bleeched white clothes that have elastic in them and never had any issues.... So i would *think* they would be ok if it was only in there for a short period

If it were me, I wouldn't bother risking it. Boys who wear pink rule! :D

Sorry, not much help with a solution there. :o

You can get a product called Dy-gon from the chemist and supermarket.

A short soak should remove most of the dye and I shouldn't think it would hurt the fabric or the elastic like bleach could.

You can buy Runaway from your supermarket it will remove dye that has run in the washing, Then you can do a strip wash on the nappies which will strip all the products out of it so they go back to new.

hmm I don't know if Runaway will work when the item/s have already been dried???
I agree with Shed, you;ll just have to have another baby  lol.
sorry I can't be of more help.
I would think bleach as a once off would be ok if you try the runaway and it doens't work.

Well, if someone can find me some sperm, I'm up for having another baby  :D

Interestingly, I've now folded up the nappies, and my tots bots fluffie hasn't been pink'ed, only my bamboo nappies have been affected :detective:

Anyway - I am at peace with having pink nappies LOL and if I get around to it, I might try to get them white again, thanks for all the suggestions :hugs: But that's only going to happen when I get around to it, ie probably not soon, if ever

Thanks everyone!

Silly me did a hot wash with a brand new red nappy in it and my microfibre inserts went pink. It didn't worry me though, cause they were hidden in pockets, but I just kept using them and eventually they went back to white. It didn't take them long. :)

See, strangely enough, my microfibre inserts and nappy haven't gone pink :detective: it is only the bamboo, the hemp ones haven't gone pink either, and the cotton one hasn't gone pink :detective: WEIRD!! :p Hopefully I'll get lucky like you, ETsmum, it'll wash out gradually without me having to actually do anything :p
