I just need to share my happy news!! I fed in public for the first time today and it felt great!!

This may not be a big deal for some people, but for me it was a HUGE accomplishment. It is the one thing that I have been dreading doing. Usually I go into a parent room and close the curtain. If there isn't one of these I can go to, I will sit in the car or even drive home. Today I went out for lunch with my mum and DD needed a feed. I thought "no, this time I'm going to do it". I sat on a couch out of the way of the dining room and draped a muslin wrap over my shoulder, unclasped my bra and stuck her on!! No complaints, I didn't feel embarassed and DD was happy.

Yay for me! :yelclap:
Now I've just gotta do it again...

Thats awesome!! Well done its a big thing and you should be really proud of yourself

after a few goes you wont even know your doing it so it does get easier

Well done :)

I think you'll find that there are actually a lot of supportive people out there. I always look at breastfeeding women and think "wow I wish I had the courage to do that".

DP actually likes it when mothers breastfeed in his restaurant because he says it makes other mothers feel more comfortable and that everyone is welcome (he is very anti bottle even though he was bottlefed which I find strange coming from a man).

Good for you, it feels great doesnt it and once you have done it once it is so easy to do it again.

It's such a great feeling huh!

I'm pretty lucky in that I've got a friend who owns a cafe and they've gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable there. It was funny because the first time I ever took DD there and BF there were none of my friends around but the second I latched her on everyone came out of the woodwork and wanted to meet her. So there I am, first time BF in public with my boob out and all my friends trying to cram in and see bubs. I would have felt really awkward had I not instantly realised they wanted to see bubs and didn't care for a second about my boobs! Since then I've pretty well become unstoppable.
