Hi,
I am a mum of a 2 1/2 year old baby girl and my husband has worked away FIFO since she was 7 months. Started 2 on 1 off and for last 6 months has been 4 on 1 off. Have found it really trying at times, but getting harder now that she is older and the terrible two's have arrived!!
I would REALLY like to meet other mums who have a life like mine, it does get lonely and really hard on weekends when everyone is with there own family..
Would anyone be interested in meeting up for coffee etc..? It would be great to feel like I'm not alone in this situation..

Thanks......:flowerz:

Hi Asher's dad does 2 and 1 but hopefully going to 9 and 5 in the next couple of weeks.

He's only just gone back to working in the mines so I totally not prepared for the loneliness.
And we've only just moved back to WA so I basically don't have any friends and those that i do have don't have kids.

I think I'm slowly going mad from the lack of adult interaction.

I can understand the slowly going mad bit. My husband does 2 and 1 at Sunrise Dam and lately the phones keep cutting out. It drives me nuts that when something exciting happens in my day, I cant tell him about it. Usually I have a lot of support from my mum. I'm extremely lucky to have that. But she really busy for the next month then she's going away for 3 months over east and it's just hit me just how lonely it's going to be coping with the kids on my own.

I am becoming so bored it is making me crazy. I don't know if I've had enough of DP working away, or I've had enough of people's negative comments about FIFO! My dp works 3 weeks on and 3 off and it definitely has its perks (and not just financial!)- I have two boys 1yr and 3 yrs. Evenings are pretty dull especially when the kids r well behaved and asleep at 7.30. Weekends can be especially boring with families doing 'family' stuff. Where does everyone in this thread live? We r in Baldivis and I'd love to meet up with other mums in the same boat ESPECIALLY if they have a child or a dog or a clown to entertain my 3 year old. It's going to be a long year before we start kindy...

Hi boysandme -I am just around the corner in the illustrious heights of Orelia ;) Thats a good roster! (but I know what you mean about the being sick of either FIFO or the comments you get about your hubby doing it!!!) Did you go to the family day today at Settlers? I was going to but having a 6 week old and 21 month old and not having DH means those kinda things a bit tricky :) I am deffo up for meeting...free most avo's for a coffee (maybe at the stockland shops?) or a park around on the weekends when DH away...I dont have a clown unless you count my 21 month old :) we have a beagle...but he more of a pain in the butt then anything else! Yeh evenings suck too here especially as tv so awful! and no adult to chat to, though at the moment I am pretty much shattered by the time my DD in bed, and up every 3 hours feeding :D
