Not sure if this is the right place to post but what does everyone think of these? Seriously I don't know if I agree with them.

When I was pregnant I went for a job interview and let them know as I really feel like honesty is the best policy and I know that that is why I didn't get them job. And I really can't blame them now knowing what late pregnancy and looking after a difficult baby is like! So anyway I am now not in work and not able to with my DS's health problems, so DH is trying to expand his business to bring in more money. So he just hired someone new as a bit of a risk, and guess what as soon as he hired them they told him they were pregnant. I know they don't have to tell anyone this but I think it is so sneaky. Especially for small businesses who will go under with these issues......we can't afford to train someone else before she leaves. How is that for fairness?

I agree with you.

Because it will affect their business, I think you should tell them. Just like you should if you're planning to move in a couple of months, or already have a holiday booked or whatever... it's fair because it disrupts their business and they should be able to know that when deciding whether or not to take you on.

When I was pregnant, I applied for a few jobs, and I always told them. Never got the job... but I figured at least I was honest, and if I HAD gotten a job out of it, they wouldn't hate me, and they would probably have more respect for me as I was honest from the get-go.

Unless she has been in employment for 12 months (if she is fulltime) she isnt entitled to parental leave so the only retraining you would be doing would be if she chose not to come back to work and it would be for a permenant employee who is replacing the other... much the same as if she quit or was fired.
