I'm going to the Birth centre at the Royal Hobart. Would love to have a home birth but I am single and I'd need to have someone come stay etc. So it's the next best thing
But you're right...hospitals are for sick people

I would LOVE to have a home birth but I REFUSE to pay for it!! Oh to be back in England and have it free!!
It'll be Manly Hospital for me!

I am thinking about Belmont Birthing Centre or John Hunter Hospital. If I go to Belmont I cant have drugs unless they transfer me mid way through to John Hunter, so maybe i'll just stick with John Hunter to be on the safe side (just in case)

I'm going back to Murwillumbah Hospital. I considered a home birth but I don't want to have to clean up the mess. I'm going to stay in for a couple of days and have someone else cook and wash the nappies!

Hi all,

Well I have my appointment at the JHH in Jan to fill out the paperwork and all of the fun things like that. I've been thinking more and more about what kind of labour I would like (ideally anyhow) and I am still leaning towards the idea of a water birth. I don't think that JHH have those type of facilities but I'm not sure. Does anyone know for definite?

Merry Christmas to all!

Em

I am going to either St John of God in Berwick or South Eastern Private. Have not quite made my mind up yet. Slack, I know. South Eastern is my prefernce but it is a good 20 minute drive. St John is about 5 mins.

Hi emm11e, I too am having baby at JHH. Well, either JHH or Belmont Birthing Suites. Both JHH and Belmont have the water birth feature as I am very keen to have one.

I am leaning more towards going to JHH now as Belmont dont have the "drugs" LOL, they have to transfer to JHH if i want the drugs, so may as well save them the trouble.
