My dad is so incensitive and rude...My mum just showed him a picture of his granddaughter whos in the hospital and who hes NEVER seen in person and shes 6 weeks old and he said "Be better if she was being breastfed" :banghead:
Dont you hate people who judge? I do, especialy people who have never been in your situation and couldnt possible understand.

I dont want to say anything too negative about your Dad...because it's fine for you to say things about your own Dad, but I don't think it's nice when other people put down your relatives.

I do think it's a bit rude of him though, especially not visiting her. I guess he has his own reasons why...but I really think it'd be nicer if he put those aside and began to support you and Emerald (gorgeous name btw!).

Are there reasons why you can't breastfeed? Even if you chose not to, it's none of his business anyway. He should be happy in knowing that you CARE about your baby and that you're feeding her. Anyway...wouldn't formula help fattening your darling up?

Good luck with your little one...and with your Dad. Perhaps it's time you had a talk with him.

Shell you know we all think you are doing fantastic! You are handling everything so well...
Parents say some of the most hurtful things sometimes.... And I think its because we always want them to accept us and say how great we are doing!
Some times Dads just have no idea! I know mine doesnt think before he speaks! :hugs:

Are there reasons why you can't breastfeed?

I wasn't getting enough milk for her and it is pretty hard when you have a pump attached to you so I made the decision to stop coz it was stressing me out and I just couldnt get enough supply for her needs.
My dads always told me about the benefits of breast feeding. But its not really any of his business. My nan couldnt feed him breast milk because her nipples bled and he was on formula from birth so I think maybe its because of that.
