Hi all
I didn't quite konw where to put this thread, as it's a bit of a strange question I have!!
I wanted to know if it was just my baby or all babies who seem very intuitive and pick up on, and react to, the "vibe" around them. It's like she senses things that you really wouldn't expect an oblivious little baby to even be aware of.
Not only does Alice always do the usual thing of getting ratty when I'm a bit stressed and of picking up on daddy's stress levels as well, she seems to go off whenever we take her or leave her somewhere where there is a bit of a bad or tense vibe in the air (e.g., one set of her grandparents who pretty much hate each other, though pretend it's all ok). She also really dislikes our cleaning lady who I think could be quite an aggressive person if you got on her wrong side! Also - and this is the really weird one - she always cries when I kill ants or wasps or mozzies (which always makes me a bit sad too, as I don't like to kill anything, but will if it's a threat to me or her). Is my baby the reincarnation of St Francis of Assisi!!?? :p
It makes sense to me that babies should be super-in-tune with emotions in their surroundings, but I wonder if some are more sensitive to subconscious/emotional stuff than others. Perhaps parents of 2 or more children who have quite different personalities can shed some light on this issue...???
