just have a couple of question regarding the mini pill.
first , i was gonna ask this a couple of days ago.. but there is no red section on the mini pill?
which part is sposed to bring on your periods, or does it not work like that on mini pill?

ok, since then, ive run into another problem.....

Bub is 13 weeks old and i only just started the pill a week ago, and i have not yet had a period , so i just started from the very first pill on the slide.

Anyways last night i missed 1, i remembered at midnight, but figured too late. as i usually take it at 9pm (sposed to take it same time each day) anyways early hours of the night i woke up bleeding lots

is this bcoz i missed 1 pill??? it was only a few hours later!
i guess i really am trying to rule out pregnancy!!

but is this normal behaviour on the mini pill.??

thanks to anyone who can help!

The hormones and stuff that are in the mini pill are different and weaker than the normal pill, which is why they dont have the 'red section'. It still kind of works along side your cycle.
You missing your pill may have caused the bleed, but not neccessarily. You should see your doctor just in case.

Are you BF?
I am and have been on the minipill for a while (3 months) with no period at all...

The minipill won't regulate your cycle like a combined or sequential pill will. I can't take the combined or sequential pills due to an adverse reaction, I have been on the mini pill most of the time since I was about 22 (which is quite a while now!!).

All tablets are progesterone. There are no sugar tablets to cause a period. I breastfed DD#1 on the minipill for 3 years, and only had my periods start again after 15 months.

Basically they work by making the cervical mucous hostile to sperm. You do need to be pretty diligent about taking it at the same time each day.

It's unlikely that a late or missed tablet will have caused a bleed.

milliesmum: yep, im bf.

It's unlikely that a late or missed tablet will have caused a bleed.
hmmm now im unsure why?
i think im just worried i could have gotten pregnant before i started taking the pill (slim chance, but possible) i dont feel pregnant, just being practicle, as i know what causes babies LOL as i wasnt being careful!

I doubt i am, as i havent yet had a period, and i am bf .. but just rather unusual.
maybe i should stop taking pill... i kept taking it because i thought it might help with making it go away  (if it was the reason it came in the first place IYKWIM)

after DD1 i fell pregnant at about 13 wks after birth .

well i guess i'll have to see how things go.

thanks girls

Not to freak you out but my friend did fall pregnant while breastfeeding her daughter and taking the mini pill. When its meant to be, its meant to be!
