Ok I really need some help...

Tyler is teething... and has developed a HORRIBLE... and I mean HORRIBLE rash (round #2).... I took him to the docs and apparently its normal with some teethers as the wee is that acidic it burns the skin... I am changing way more frequently to try help stop it... but it's not healing up as fast this time... (we have just cut 4 molars and now the eye teeth are coming!!!) :hair:

We have some cream I use with some of the liners from woolies... and he wore sposies all day yesterday :o... and it is slowly healing again... but I really don't want him back in sposies!!!

Is there anything I can put in his nappies to help draw the moisture away from his skin??...

TIA

Yup - polar fleece liners will do this - some nappies have fleece inners to assist in this way. What nappies do you have?

Another option is LOTS AND LOTS of nappy free time. If you have wood/lino floors, the mess will be negligible :) Or run around outside in the sunshine.

Most of my stash are GK's... a couple of ittis, BG and some flashy ones lol.... but most of the time it is GK's...

Polar fleece.... just like what trackie pants are made of (yep I am ignorant to material lol).... amd would I put it in fleece side up or down??...

We do lots of nappy free time... but mum has carpet... and I feel horrible him "relieving" himself on it all the time lol... and I don't want to leave cream stains on it and all her furniture lol.... she says it fine but I still feel bad!!! lol...

and thanks for the sunshine tip.... the neighbourhood might have a lil one year old running nude on view for a while lol...

Hehehe every garden needs a little nudie bum  and I think that with boys especially, it helps for them to see where the wee-wee comes from - I know that since having nappy-free time more often for mine (he has had an awful run with bad nappy rash too :() he will stop running around, say WEE-WEE and then point to his penis and watch the wee-wee come out  and then run and get a cloth

Polar fleece is yes that trackie material LOL and you put the smooth side against his skin. You can buy it by the metre at Spotlight, and you don't need to hem it or anything because it doesn't fray - just cut it to fit him.

GK's should be pretty good I think, I've got a couple of those and they're fleece. But even though most of the nappies I put on my boy have fleece inner, if I use a fleece liner as well it seems to help a lot. Also Zinc Oxide cream helps, but it stains the MCN - I use it though, with a fleece liner, because if the fleece liner gets ruined by it, I don't mind throwing it away. Try Brauer's nappy rash cream too, it's basically a calendula cream which is natural and soothing.

Hope your little one's butt feels better soon :hugs:

If your chemist doesnt stock the cream they should be able to order it otherwise try your health food store !

This is the best cream ive ever used & i love it ! It also doesnt wreck MCN's as it isnt greasy & rubs straight in doing its stuff instantly !

It does have a mineral base but its still a natural product that works brilliantly !

Hope your lo's bum clears soon !

are you using cloth wipes? I found this helped a huge amount, in fact I think Lachlan might be allergic to the new huggies wipes, his bum and surrounding areas had hives, it was so bad, poor little man.

And I use camomile tea with some sorbelene cream mixed in to wet the cloths

After not using the huggies wipes, a week later his bottom was all clear

Try adding bicarb to his bath. It stops stings and soothes sores and helps the healing process too
