Thinking of moving to Bali

Hi, my hubby and I are thinking of moving to Bali in 2008! :cloud9:

We're just in the begininning stages of talking about it, but I figure I'll ask questions and see what advice others who have gone before me have before things get too serious.

I have no idea what I'm getting myself into, and have a lot of family around where I live now, so it will be a big change. Especially with a toddler and a husband who runs his own business and isn't available 'regular' afterwork hours to help out all the time. But this is a major goal of ours - to live overseas eventually, so worth the risk for the adventure.

So, if anyone has lived in Bali, I'd love to hear from you with any advice you can give me about what it will be like compared to Australia... I live on the Gold Coast now.

I am so excited for you, youa re very lucky to have this opportunity. i have never been to Bali and have never lived overseas so dont have any advice to offer you, just wanted to encourage you to go for it, as you said it is well worth the risk. DH and I have discussed moving to Scotland to live as he has family there and we have always wanted to live overseas. It turns out that he can't get a Visa easily so it probably will never happen, but if ever we have the opportunity we will jump at it! It would definately be hard work with a toddler and a fairly absent DH, but i reckon the whole excitement and adventure would weigh that out.
