View Full Version : Would anyone like to share their bubs routine?
Hi ,
I am finding it a little difficult trying to work out my DD's routine who is 8 months old, since introducing solids, we are a little all over the place, so I would just like to find out what routines other bubs have.
Thanks so much

6am bottle
7.30 breakfast (farex/fruit)
8 - 9 sleep
11 bottle
11.30 - 1 sleep
1.30 lunch (usually yoghurt)
2-30 bottle
3.30 sleep (sometimes)
4.30 dinner (vegies and just about to start chicken)
5 bath
5.30 bottle
6 pm sleep
Dd2 is 8 months, sleeping through the 12 hours (except a few odd nights) and sometimes has an extra bottle if it is really hot or she is particularly grizzly. If we are out all day this usually goes out the window and we go with the flow.:)

That's much the same as what we are doing but she wakes at 5am and goes to bed at 7pm, but for the life of me I cannot get her to sleep through she is still having a full bottle somewhere between 12 midnight and 4am.

That sounds about the same as DS, without the 11:30 sleep - on some days!
Other days he'll have 2-3hrs sleep in the morning & not much at all in the afternoon. But he then wakes at 9pmish for a b/f, then again another once or twice through the night.
We are still going with the flow ATM, and not forcing it. DD only goes to daycare 1 day a week, so that is really the only day things have to be done at a certain time. Other than that I just let him lead.

The reality is, the little buggers are all so different! Try not to get yourself into a knot about routines, just go with what your little angel is doing I reckon. Mine is different to the last post:
Awakens at 7am, has some cereal, then a bottle.
Sleep @ 9.30am (for about 1 - 2 hours)
Lunch @ 12md (usually vegies and chicken or beef), followed by some yoghurt. Then about 1pm - 1.30 he will have another bottle.
Afternoon sleep around 3pm
Dinner @ 5pm (usually spag bol or similar), then nudie time and bath, followed by his bottle.
Down to sleep around 6.30pm.
If he is hungry at morning or afternoon tea, he will chomp on a rice cake or crusket.
I don't know if it helps or not, but I read that baby should have food before bottle so they are encouraged to eat more (which hopefully helps them sleep). Also, give them no protein at dinner, only at lunch. I don't know, there are so many theories out there, it's bloomin' confusing. With each stage, I get confused!! I have just convinced myself to follow his lead! Good luck

If bub goes to bed at 7pm have you tried giving her a dreamfeed at around 10pm or just before you go to bed??
Our routine hahah
When she wakes up feed her... change nappy usually between 5-7am... then she has naps when she is tired..
We go shopping as she sleeps in the pram... we like shopping...

we're the same. altho i've found james actually doesn't sleep as much in the pram now as he used to. he's too much of a nosey parker and likes looking around at everyone and everything.
DS is 6.5 months and his routine, usually, is something like this (except when it isn't, which can be often :fingerscrossed:):
6.30am wake up
7am bottle
8.30am sleep
10am wake up (except today - it's 10.30 and he is just waking up!)
10.30am fruit and farex followed by bottle
12pm sleep
1.30pm wake up and bottle
4pm sleep (usually in pram as I go for a walk)
5pm wake up and dinner (vegies and farex at the moment)
6pm nappy off time, play, massage, bath
6.45pm bottle
7pm bed
Generally DS will sleep through, unless he is teething or growing when he might wake up for a bottle at midnight or at 4am or both. Since he started teething he has given the breast the big heave-ho unfortunately.
