Well I just went for my appointment with my Doctor to get referral for my NT scan next Saturday, and he took my blood pressure and it is 145/90! It is usually 125/90.... I am a bit worried. He said for me not to worry (obvioulsy) and when I come back in 2 weeks he'll check it again to make sure its not still rising!

I am 11 weeks tomorrow.

Anyone else having high blood pressure? Should I be worried!?

Hi there:wave:
I have high BP too....at 7 weeks it was 133/83,then the other day at 11 weeks it was 126/90....if it's not back down to normal (not sure what my "normal" is) by next visit I may have to go on BP tablets.:(
I find my feet swell of a night if I've been on them all day,and they feel a bit tingly.I have been a bit stressed lately with a lot going on in my life,my doc thinks that may be the cause.
I'm 12 weeks 4 days.

:fingerscrossed: for us both that it goes down.

I have always had very low blood pressure to the point where I would feel faint in the warmer months and have to EASE out of bed in the morning rather than bouncing out. My last BP check was 3 wks ago and it was "normal" for the first time in my life! I felt the most faint in the first 6 weeks of pregnancy but have not felt faint since.

Best of luck and fingers crossed to you guys though but just think - if it was THAT bad, the Dr would not have sent you home, right? You'd be in hospital being watched or on medication for it already. I think that the fact that they are keeping an eye on it is good but shows no urgency on the Dr's part which is nice.

Please do let us know how you go though as we are like a little family and we all care! :hugs:

i had high blood pressure in the last 2 wks of my pregnancy with DD, but i ended up going into labor a few days earlier.

i know it's hard but try not to think about it to much, or stress....
take time to relax and have a rest, and even if you BP is fine next time just remember to take it easy.

:hugs: thinking of you both and hope it's back to normal soon..

Work has been stressing me out ALOT! So I made the point of telling my boss about my high blood pressure and hinted that he wasnt making it easier! So hopefully he backs off now! I have road rage too, LOL, I hate slow drivers. I am easily p!ssed off. I just have to start to relax I think. My mum told me to start walking more too and exercise is good for it apparently too.

So my fingers will be :fingerscrossed: and i'll let you all know how it goes on 18/12, whether it has dropped or not.

Thanks heaps :hugs:

Hey Mandii, I hope everything is ok for you. Apparently many women have high blood pressure during pregnancy, but as long as it is monitored, it is managed ok.
I hope it is down at your next visit, and try to take it easy (easier said than done, I know!)

I had Pre-Eclamsia with my first pregnancy.
I love how the dr would say 'now just relax' just before taking my blood pressure, which im sure would just stress me out more!

Light exercise is good, a walk each evening is a great goal. And maybe try some yoga or similar with meditation if its your thing.

As for the tingles in your fingers, you can try soaking them in warm water with epsom salts/normal salt, and massages.

Hope all goes well, but if your BP doesnt come down, please be reassured that plenty of women have successful pregnancies and healthy babies with good management.
