tell me all anout them.

I couldn't get any to go with the Blueberries that i just brought so though i would have a go at making some just like the real thing. So i need to know -

How long are they?
How wide?
Are they just one long piece you fold up differently for the s, m & l settings on the nap?
What are they made of?
How many layers?
Any thing else i need to know about them?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

The insert for the blueberry is ridiculous!

It is about 100m long and if inserted makes the nappy so bulky it isn't funny! That is on my 2 year old who needs the large. Goodness knows how huge it would be on a smaller baby.

I just use whatever microfibre insert plus either a small hemp or bamboo insert behind it. I haven't had any leaks from it not fitting in exactly.

If you like in the morning when DD wakes up I'll measure it exactly for you though. It is made from microfibre and is as wide as every other microfibre booster I've ever bought.

Seriously though I wouldn't bother.

Hmm, i had heard that the Blueberry inserts were trim! and super absorbent.
Maybe i need a rethink.
So are you using say a cotton babies microfibre (3 layers) plus bamboo or hemp, how many layers?
Are your inserts 13cm wide? Can you measure for me pretty please.

I would think 6 layers would be plenty on NB or toddler. I have both NB and toddler so need something that will fit in the Blueberry when snapped down for NB and open for toddler.

Ok the insert is:

Wide: 13cm
Long: 94cm (no this isn't a typo!)
Not quite as thick as a bumgenius insert.

Honestly I would just use a BumG or a cotton baby microfibre insert. If you wanted added protection put a hemp or bamboo booster behind it like I do.

We don't even use our insert for the blueberry. It sits at the bottom of the booster pile and every time I look at it I think how ridiculous it is.

Let me know if I can help anymore.

Just wanted to say that i think the blueberry inserts are great, and yes they are long but when folded up makes no difference to the nappy.

There's no bulkiness in my nappies, they are actually pretty trim!

The BG inserts would fit just as well, but i find the blueberry inserts way more absorbant than the BG.

I just love the Blueberry inserts too, and way more absorbant than my BumGenius.

I just made some inserts like the BB ones but I used Bamboo fleece instead of hemp. They are super absorbent even on my 2.5yr old and fit into all of my pockets. I made them with microfleece layer over the microfibre so I can also snap them in AI2's I am making.
I love the idea of them folding out to make drying time easier.
Another good pattern is the Berry plush fold up insert, that is a clever design for fast drying too.

Thanks Lil X-men i am using bamboo fleece too!
Great idea putting the microfleece over the microfibre, i had not thought of that.
