Another new thread, gee we can talk a lot!
Guess I've missed everyone, makes sense as it's about 11pm where everyone else is!
Just realised that I'm meant to be O'ing in 4 days. Ha! Bizarro. I wonder if my body will anyway, even if there's not an AF in between?
GiAG & Megaminz, hope you guys are baking the beginnings of little cupcakes in your belly!! :fingerscrossed:
Amylou I hope AF stays at bay and you get a nice fat :bfp: surprise :fingerscrossed:
And KK I hope your litter is coming along nicely :fingerscrossed::laughing:
Sorry to all that I've missed! Goodnight BH

well very frustrated with the world of HPK tests, what do they MEAN I am gonna have to wait 9-14 days to start testing?? I need to know NOW.
Am busy researching ovulation at the moment cause last night was VERY tender in the abdomen, if I hadn't already ruptured my appendix I would think thats what was happening. I had no CM really though yesterday and am not due to O for another few days so dunno what was happening. Have told DH he is on duty again for another 3 days though, which of course he is most displeased about.
Hope we all slept well..I didn't dog wanted to pee at 3am, cat fell out of window so had to let her in at some point, some dear friend texted me at 7am NZ time forgetting it was 4am here. But I forgive her cause she has solved my problem who would be god parent to my baby cause it would be her. Love her to death. Possibly the only person in the world I could ever flat with again.
Being lazy today...cannae be bothered walking the dog this mornng. Gotta change my nail polish from orange to serious dark red cause I have to execute some contracts today so need my business nails on.
Will have my cup of green tea and return to see if anyone else is up
morning ladies............... NO AF and a BFN again............ i hate these HPT, i think they hate me too... I'm sure AF is gonna come today, don't feel cramps yet but i think she will come and ruin my day! Stupid so and so!
Hope everyone else has a fab day! Talk later!

okay now its on. I have only had two AFs since coming off Mirena 7 weeks ago. On mirena I never had them at all. But my two afs were 32 days apart so this is what my cycle has been calculated on. Making me due to O on sunday. Two cycles aren't exactly a pattern
However, got a positive OPK on Tues and a real strong one yesterday accompanied by lots of pain in abdomen last night which makes me wonder if my cycle is shorter. When I change my cycle length to 28 days not 32 I would be bang on to O last night which would explain the pain etc....But now I am worried I have only one more day to play!!!!
Anyone know of a realllly early detection test at all??? I am wondering if my cycle is shorter so AF will be due on 20th not 24th now, and that means could test from 13th??
AmyLou crossing fingers for you...keep that nasty AF away!

OK, I came off the implant 7 weeks ago and have had 2 AF's since then.
I also think its funny that I am working off my 'documented cycles' lol a whole big fat 1 of them. That sort of history makes for great accuracy.
I also have massive O pains (i'm assuming) - except mine alternates between sides - I'll go into more detail about this in my diary.
We really are carbon copies :)

Hi all
Well i go away for a few days and there is another thread????? :ecomcity: We sure can talk!
Well i'm very unhappy at the moment cause i am on cd22, and my temp hasn't done anything!!! I got a positive opk on cd 17, and my cm was good (i think) but my temp didn't do anything!!! Also i haven't had any ferning! (i usually get lots of that). FF says i haven't o'd yet, but i don't think i am going to.
Is it possible to ovulate without the rise in temp? FF says it is if you are sick, travelling, test at different times etc, but i haven't done any of that!
I am going crazy! :hair: Why does this keep happening to me?? Last month was great, everything looked the way it was suposed to, but AF still came. And now this month.... I am just so over it, 5 yrs of trying is 5 yrs too many. I want 4 kids, whats gonna happen if they all take this long? :(
I am just mad, cause i know it's another month before i can think about trying again! And my cycle length can vary from 31 to 35 days, so who knows whats happening!
I can't believe it has been almost a yr since i did conceive and have a mc, i remember the dr saying that after that i would probobly get a bfp straight away, as a lot of women do apparently, but how wrong she was!
Sorry to bum you all out, i'm just so over it.

Oh laney, i'm really sorry.
I know i sound like a broken record but the acupuncture and herbs have been doing wonders for me.
I am only 48 hours from when i normally start spotting and i feel amazing, i can't even begin to explain how bad i used to be around AF time, not just sick/pain wise, but emotional wise.
I swear that i have ovulated more than once this cycle and not only that, from my right ovary which has never as far as i know, done anything before. I always feel myself ovulate on the left side and this time i swear I ovulated from the left side on CD14, then the right side on CD15. Not to mention my strange possible ovulation a couple of days ago.
the theory with acupuncture is that if there is an energy imbalance within your body it can throw everything out. I was really sceptical at whether it would do anything, but i can't for a minute deny the difference it has made.
I'm not sure whether you can still ovulate and not see the dip - my gyno did say that other things can throw your cycle out though. Maybe you might not see a dip, but still get a rise in temperature over the next few days and that would be a good sign?
Hey Layney, keep your chin up, girl! :hugs: You know we are here, and we have your back (so to speak- wow, I feel like I am in the 'hood!) it just seems today is a bad day. We all get them!
AF is being quite good to me- I have hardly had any pains at all- a few faint ones yesterday, but I couldn't hardly feel them for all the bloating I had! So, instead of a christmas baby, it is a new baby for a new year! :fingerscrossed: :babydust2:

Thanks Mega, i am just having one of those days, you know? My sister sent me ultrasound pics of her 11 week old foetus, and it looks so developed! I guess it sort of threw me a little (she didn't want a baby)
TTC is physically and emotionally hard, but i remember how much harder it was in the beginning compaired to now, so i know how everyone is feeling and it sucks.
At least we have each other :hugs:
I should be excited because x-mas is coming and i LOVE x-mas! :yelclap:

These are today's observations....
1. my cervix is high and soft, usually it is high and very firm leading up to AF
2. The last few days my wrists have been really sore. I had RSI a few years ago and it feels a bit like that
3. today i have butterflies in my stomach
4. No AF cramps, headaches, pms or :barf:that i usually get up to a week before AF (spotting due Sat pm). - NOTE: i did start taking vitamin B6 this month - maybe it is helping already?
5. The very sore boobs at 6-9DPO and a bit tender again at 12-13DPO
6. blobs of EWCM at 10-12DPO
7. usually have watery CM 3 days before AF, but today it is slippery and creamy.
As i keep saying, could be that acupuncture/herbs are balancing my cycles and this is how i SHOULD have been feeling before AF, but PG would be soooo nice!

Hi laney
Dr's and gynos dont tell you half the stuff you learn on bubhub.
Saliva and lubricant - bad environment for sperm. creates a barrier. EWCM is best and if you really have issues the brand PreSeed lubricant is the only one that is OK - but nothing is best of all.
Checking cervix - well really you just have to feel around in there . It takes a while to start working out the difference, but a few pages back there was talk of lips and noses (ie if it feels like your bottom lip - fertile, like the tip of your nose - not fertile).
Don't feel bad - i didn't learn any of this stuff till September. I had 17 month of TTC blindly before that.

Morning girls  Get ready for Worlds Most Giant Reply (yes Noms, like Worlds Most Giant Doctor!)
CD39 and counting. This bites. I don't want to pass the 40 mark!! Maybe I've only just O'd and it's just going to be a long cycle. Hmm I did notice my tonsils were open the other day, hmm.... As weird as it sounds I always just assumed I had O'd at CD14 or whenever, and AF was late. Does that make sense? Could everything just be on a longer schedule?
Sorry GiAG I think I explained myself wrong, I would be due to O now except I'm still going on last month's cycle - if AF wasn't MIA I would be able to wait through the TWW with you guys... but as it stands I'm just waiting (not very) patiently for AF to come around.
Amylou no AF is a good sign! I still have my fingers crossed for you!!
Lol MM, love the idea of business nails. The most sensitive HPK I know (that is what you were asking about right, not OPK?) is from Lullaby Conceptions, 10iul/mg/L/thingie. Even if O is a bit earlier than you thought, at least you caught it still! Fingers crossed chicky!!
Susiebabes, Laneypossum, big hugs to you both!
Good luck with your appointment Susie, I hope it goes well :hugs:
Laney I don't know what to say, but I agree that you are so strong to get this far and to keep going, I hope you get your BFP really really soon :hugs: On the cervix question, you can apparently track your stage of the cycle by feeling how soft or hard your cervix feels, and whether the, uh, 'hole' bit ("os") feels open or shut. Open is better of course. But if you happen to have a retroverted uterus like me, finding the os can be a bit like playing pin the tail on the donkey after a few vinos - i.e. pretty hard!
KK being late for work is no excuse. You could have peed and walked out the door with it! LOL... although a BFP in peak hour traffic may have caused a bit of a traffic obstruction! Hey how expensive is acupuncture, if you don't mind me asking? I think I might give it a bash... there's clearly something a bit out of whack with my cycle and it can't hurt! I like Chinese medicine, I think they are onto something with their Qi. Your symptoms sound really good!
I have a silly question about temping. You're meant to temp first thing in the morning, right? But if you are a bit cold at night and have an extra blankie on, and wake up a bit warm, doesn't that mess with your temperature? :detective:
Good to hear AF is behaving herself Nomsie. Just think, you'll get your bubs in the New Year and sometime in their life they will realise they was conceived around Christmas time, and for the rest of their life they will have the knowledge that you and DP got a little too much festive cheer!!
Overshare question for the day. Is saliva only bad for sperm when it gets into the, uh, internal environment, or is outsidies ok? :o

Aph - It is possible you are just having a crazy wacky cycle. Perhaps i can mail you some of my fertility herbs and you can produce a litter too!
My acupuncture is $55 for a full hour including consultation. I get $20 of that back from health insurance. The herbs are about $22 and i think the last a fortnight or maybe a month.
At the moment i have been going weekly, but it changes to fortnightly/monthly once the Qi gets balanced. My liver qi was completely out - which is bad bad bad. On monday we found it has been completely restored! Now we are working on my kidney chi, which is just a bit out of whack, but the liver especially effects reproduction, and that is probably why my cycles have been so aweful.
the fertility herbs encourage general well being, balance the qi and fertility wise, encourage ovulation, produce healthy quality eggs, encourage healthy blood flow to the pelvic organs and help create a nourishing lining to the uterus.

As a stimulation aid I would suggest to keep the saliva to a "minimum" so as not to let it "spread" into the "ahem" internal environment.

This is what I posted yesterday Laney
Cervix and Conception
Water, Water and More Water
When trying to conceive it is very important to drink lots of water about 8-10 cups a day. This helps to "clean out" your system and helps to increase fertile quality cervical fluid. Also, it´s a good habit to begin for pregnancy - when drinking a lot of water is imperative.
Orgasm
Orgasm helps to increase the chances of conception. Orgasm increases the blood-flow to the reproductive organs helping them to function better. Orgasm also helps the cervix to "suck" up sperm in the vagina, thus helping the sperm to reach the awaiting egg.
*Note: Conception is possible without female orgasm - it just increases the chances of conception occuring.
*MYNOTE - I have heard that this creates an environment in the CM more suitable to male sperm.
Low Cervical Position
Right after your menstrual period, the position of your cervix will be low and easily reached by your fingertip. This should be charted on your spreadsheet by logging "L" or "Low". At this time, a cervical position of low is considered infertile.
Mid Cervical Position
Closer to ovulation your cervix will start to rise. This is caused by the increasing amount of progesterone in your body. Your cervix will start moving a little higher within your body but can still be reached rather quickly with your fingertips. This should be charted on your spreadsheet by logging "M" or "Mid". At this time there is a possibility of being fertile.
High Cervical Position
A day or two prior to ovulation your cervix will rise to its highest point. It moves to this level due to the amount of progesterone within your body. When checking for the position you will notice that it is almost difficult to reach your cervix and should be logged on your spreadsheet as "High". Note: Due to the unique way the Charting Consultation Service logs to show at a glance when your peak time is - the letter "X" (extra high) is used for their fertility chart. At this time you are considered extremely fertile.
Hard Cervix
When you begin checking your cervix the day after your menstrual period has ended, you will notice that the feel of your cervix is rather hard. It will feel almost as you are touching the tip of your nose. This should be logged on your cervix as "H" or "Hard". At this time you are considered infertile.
Soft Cervix
Closer to ovulation your cervix will start to soften. This is caused by the increasing amount of progesterone in your body at this time. It may feel almost like touching your bottom lip. This should be logged on your spreadsheet as "S" or "Soft". When cervix is soft and high you are considered extremely fertile.
Closed Cervical Opening
When you begin checking your cervix the day after your menstrual period begins you will notice that there is a small slit or a tiny round hole (usually women who have given birth will feel a small hole instead of a slit) which is the opening where sperm enters. The opening will be very small at this time and should be logged on your fertility chart as "C" or "Closed". When your cervical opening is at its smallest (closed) you are considered infertile.
Open Cervix
Closer to ovulation you will notice that your cervical opening begins to enlarge. This makes it easier for sperm to enter into the cervix. The slit or hole will become larger and will feel very open. This should be logged on your fertility spreadsheet as "O" or "Open". When your cervical position is High, Soft and Open you are considered extremely fertile.

I think i am going to try the chinese herbs and acupuncture if my naturopath can't help (i have been seeing her for a while and so far nothing, but her track record of getting people preggers is excellent, so i will see!). The last time i saw her, she got a phone call from a previous client saying thankyou for helping her out. This woman did ivf 5 times and nothing. But when she went to my naturopath she fell preggers natually with triplets!!! OMG
KittyKatz is pregnant with 6

Thanks KK, that's awesome. I think I will wait for the end of this cycle (the way it's going that will get me past the Christmas spend as well ) and then look into doing some in the New Year. It sounds great!
Even crazy wacky cycles are likely to still have eggs, right?

Ooh, I just remembered something. Last night I dreamt I was sitting in a classroom  and could feel myself getting pregnant! So when class ended I went to the loos and did a pg test, which looked suspiciously like my thermometer, but it showed HCG levels. So it finally beeped and I took it out and saw the result in the corner of my eye, but reset it before I could get a good look
Maybe I'm not going to get pg until I go back to uni next year!!
ETA But I've been having tummy cramps all morning!

My sister only got her periods about 3 times a year. They didn't wear a condom once about 6 weeks into her cycle and she is now 11 weeks pregnant! So it is definately possible to still ovulate very late into a long, wacky cycle!

My AF usually starts with spotting on CD30. I'm at CD28. So like it or not, Sunday it is.
I am starting to get a bit excited - BUT this happens every cycle. Besides if i get a BFP you'll throw me out of the TTC threads and then what will i do? Me and more poor litter.
How will HP-mum-to-be, Monique13, and CharlottesMummy be able to deal with me and my craziness?

IPSWICH NEWS — The birth of Ipswich's first set of sextuplets is a spectacular event but the family is intent on keeping their extremely rare case out of the spotlight.
St Andrews Private Hospital confirmed Monday that a woman delivered six babies, one Saturday and five early Sunday.
The infants were reported to be four boys and two girls weighing 1.8 pounds each and were born almost 6.5 months into their mother’s pregnancy.
“Mom is resting and doing well. The babies are in fair condition, which means their vital signs are stable and within normal limits,” hospital president Dr. Liz Whynot told a news conference.
Rowe said naturally conceived sextuplets occur only once in several billion births.
The six tiny babies born on the weekend were likely conceived through the use of fertility herbs and acupuncture, he said.
Instead of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment for infertility, it’s likely conception was the result of superovulation, Rowe said.

News Flash,
The initially shy mother to a litter of six has revoked her request for the media to leave her family alone. This stressed out, exhausted, litter-bearer is now begging strangers that walk past her house to please help with feeding, changing, burping, bathing and nap times.
DoCS officials have now confirmed that the litter is sleeping in a cardboard box full of the mothers jumpers, with a litter member occassionally being found asleep in the in-tray located in the couples study.

I am to keep going on as is at the moment. In 6 months If i haven't fallen (:fingerscrossed: i have) She may look at doing a lapa (something or other) and dye treatment. (that is even too scary to think about)
Anyways I went to ask about what types of things i should be having (symptoms/sighteffects) on clomid, when she asked. Any way Fantastic news (NOT) I will be one of the unlucky one that will know very soon after as i will probably have quite bad morning sickness. WOOOOO HOOOOO NOT
Other then that hubby buby has to do a sample (He is already saying that he won't).
SO yeah that is it, i will be on clomid for a while (WOOO HOOO NOT)
That is it. I go too pick my mum up on saturday and she will be staying with us till christmas which is good, but the only problem is i should o on about tues or wed next week!!!!
My other good news is she is going to make me POAS to work out when o time is insdead of blood test all the time (THAT ONE IS A HUGE THING!!! ) I bruse really bady and i hate needles (and here i am booked in for Acupuncture on friday next week). Susie - acupuncture isn't so bad, i promise, i am TERRIFIED of needles. She is so discreet you don't see them or feel them.
I had the lap and dye and it isn't so scary either. Well leading up to it is for me, because like you i hate needles and bruise easily, and i've had to have several operations in a very short amount of time, and its lead to post traumatic stress disorder, BUT....
Last time i found that they can actually put you to sleep with gas, and then put the drip in etc once you are asleep. I wish i knew that ages ago.
Plus, with the lap & dye, the next 3 - 6 months after there is a higher chance of pregnancy (i'm in my 3rd month since so :fingerscrossed:).
Hopefully the acupuncture will be great, and if yours also sells chinese herbs, mine are in capsule form called Fertility Support (by ChinaMed).

At least your doc is being proactive. Mine says to me, if noting happens in 12 months.. THEN we will do something. Hrmph. I have been trying for 8 (i know, I know, 8 is short to most!) JUST HELP ME NOW WOMAN!
And that isn't even my imaginary doctor! That is my real-life one! (My new imaginary dr just holds my hand and I am UTD! She is that good!)
I craked it after i had had 4 af's is 8 months. when before i got married my af was on the dot 28 days. So yeah they started doing tests and made a decision i may have pcos. Then decied to give me a referral. And here we are today.
Demand it sometimes that helps. My problem was i always knew in the back of my mind that yeah i was going to have problems and well sure enough.
Hmmm... KK you have me seriously considering having accupuncture... don't know if it is on the budget at this time of year... perhaps if I do make it to 12 months TTC then I will drop in...?!
Anyway, moving on to less serious topics.. what time are you leaving for Sydney? DP and I were seriously considering taking tomorrow off and driving up, but you know, money constraints. Bugger.

Everyone can come stay with me :)
I am unhappy with my dr's anyway- when I moved here to be with DP, I got gastro quite bad, and called EVERY CLINIC in the phone book, and they all said they were taking no new patients. So mine was at the bottom of the list, and they finally accepted me (What do new people do?! Where do they go if noone takes any new patients? ) Anyway, DP's clinic is the most reputable- he has being going there since day dot, and always gets really good advice etc. His Mum used to work there, and I think we discussed next time I need to go to the docs, that his mum would get me into the good one. :fingerscrossed:

I agree with Nomsie, Susiebabes, it sounds like your dr is being proactive and trying to find the best solution for you :hugs: Clomid must suck but at least it's a step in the right direction and one step closer to having your little bubba :baby: And I think the bad morning sickness sounds great! I know it sucks Nomsie, but I think that's standard GP advice for everyone under 30. I got that one too. They say 90% of couples fall pg within a year, so I guess they want to make sure that they're not giving you any unnecessary treatment/intervention, and are giving nature a chance to do it's thang. I can't talk though... here I am freaking out and my first cycle hasn't even finished
Ohh KK, what a shame!! I hope you can get the flight money back! :hugs:

Yeah I know about the under 30 thing... I am painfully aware that I am still young by any standard! Everytime I see a doc (there are about 4 at my clinic) and I tell them I am trying to get pregnant, I feel like they judge me. Their eyes always dart to my left hand. I feel like adding that I don't have a partner, i just pick up some random every weekend, hoping that this one will be my baby's daddy! :devil6:

Thanks heaps for that i am just very scared of this sort of stuff, as i have never even been in hospital other then for stiches and broken bones (like about 2 or 3 hours)

This is how they do the acupuncture on me.
First she feels the inside of my legs next to the knees and my abdomen, and under the breasts for tender spots. Then she finds the corresponding sore points on my left foot and right hand.
She puts a needle on my right foot and the outside of my hand near the thumb. She attaches a cord between the two and leaves me for 15mins. When she comes back she feels the tender spots and the pain is always gone.
Next she feels near my ovaries (my left one is always sore) and burns moxa (a herb) on them. Depending on what qi she is treating, she'll then put needles up my back and light moxa on them (if my liver qi is out) or on the inside of my ankles and shoulders if my kidney qi is out.
I don't even feel the needles go in, but mine is japanese, the chinese ones go in deeper.

Ok, well you all seem really nice, so i hope i don't offend anyone.
Well, my partner and i are a same sex couple and would dearly love children.
We have a very close friend who we trust dearly, who would be happy to help us out with the obvious missing ingredient.
Basically i just wanted to know when the best time would be to 'inseminate". Again, i'm sorry if this is too weird for you. This isn't a decision we made lightly and understand it seems a bit Jerry Springer, but we are in love and would do everything we can to be great parents. The father is happy to have involvement too, as he is gay and so this will be a good opportunity for him too.
Can you give me anytips on working out the most fertile time? We have considered both trying to double our chances, but sarah is a triplet, so we haven't really made a firm decision yet.

Aww, that's so sweet. No need to be worried here! And trust me, these girls know everything there is to know!
I guess the first thing is, do you know how long your cycles are? Your ovulation is generally about 14 days before your period ('AF') arrives. Once the egg is released you only have about 24 hours to have it fertilised, so it's really quite a small window, but sperm can live up to 5 days.
There is heaps more to know, some girls track their temperature every day as this can help to pinpoint ovulation, as well as cervical mucous, cervix position, etc. Don't want to bombard you with too much to begin with though!

Well, you have taken the first step, and come to soooo the right place for advice! I will now hand the floor over to Dr KK or one of her associates, and she will be able to fill you in on the wonderful world of TTC. This speach will involve things such as
Fertilityfriend
temping
ovulation
cervical mucous
and my personal favourite:
your cervix and what it has to do with facial features

Thank you aphrodeity, you never know how you are going to be recieved.
I have a 28 day cycle, and sarah has a 30 day cycle. I believe i ovulate about 14 days before hand because i always get a bit of spotting then. Sarah as i said, was a triplet herself, it was a natural conception, and the doctor said there is a very good chance it will happen to her. Her mother apparently ovulated more than once when she was conceived, but doesn't know if it was just that once.
I read something somewhere about multiple births earlier, can't remember where.
Maybe i should start charting? Do you have any tips or know someone who does?

Eventually I imagine it will stop, but you really have to be quicker than all the people submitting questions, and as we don't have any reliable data as for how many people submit questions in a reputable timeframe (say, a minute) we just could never tell.

Go to fertilityfriend.com, that is the charting website that the majority of us use. You'll need to get a Basal body thermometer. and take your temp first thing of the morning when you wake up. You'll get VERY familiar with your cervix and cervical mucous :)

I haven't gotten to the stage of charting myself (I've just come off the pill and am waiting for my currently 40 day cycle to end first!), but Kittykatz is one member who knows heaps about that. She'll pop back in here eventually!
Incidentally Kittykatz is worried that she is doing just what your partner's mother did, and will end up with a full litter!
It's great that you know what is happening with your cycles already. The girls will help you with any charting queries you have, but in the meantime, are you taking any pre-pregnancy supplements, like folate? It's also a good idea to have a blood test done, to check your immunity to diseases like rubella.

Hey, you should cruise back through our pages here. We were joking earlier about dr's looking down their noses at us when we say we are TTC.... someone made the suggestion that I should go in there and say I don't have a DP, I am waiting for someone rich to support me, and then ask if htey have a son. I mean, she could always try that- you know, to start the dr/patient relationship off on a good foot?!
