Hi

Can anyone offer some advice im pretty sure that I have thrush in my nipples bubs had it in his mouth but it seems to have cleared now they are red and sore and get itchy I cant get into the doctors until Friday and wanted to know if their is something I can get at the chemist to treat my nipples and DS as well.

You can get some cream for your nipples from the chemist, but wipe it off before each feed and reaaply after. You will need to use this after the symptoms have gone so that the thrush really goes. Speak to the chemist they will be able to help you, but may suggest getting bub looked at before you put medication in him.

If possible go without breast pads etc when possible so the nipples are not in a moist 'zone'.
When showering avoid the soap and make sure your breasts are really dry

I had this and it took a bit to clear, but it did eventually.

I was recommended to use Desatin (sp?) oral gel on my nipples when i had thrush. Even though its formulated for oral thrush, i found it cleared up the thrush on my nipples, and it got rid of the oral thrush in DD at the same time...

can you use nilstat or daktarin oral gel on them? my DS has oral thrush at the moment and im concerned about him passing it on to me so im expressing at the moment but may already have it as i have a few symptoms not all.
