BFP!!!!after 13 months!!

:flowerz: I can't believe it!! I can't believe I can finally post a :bfp:
This is by far the happiest day of my life!! My husband and I have been trying for over a year now - and it was the hardest year ever....I know some women have tried far longer (and I hope and pray that their turn comes soon..) - but the last year was terrifying for me...

I used to come on here all the time..but stopped because it was making me a little ....a lot....nuts....TTC is not a fair game..

I really dont know how many more BFN's i could take before I needed therapy...
The reason I'm writing this post is because i KNOW how hard this whole TTC thing is - and how much I used to obsess about other peoples BFPs -what were their symptoms? how long were they trying? what issues do they have? WHAT DID THEY DO THE MONTH THEY GOT THEIR BFP?????etc etc

SO I know what you want to know -
I have been trying for 13 cycles now - I got my poor husband to give a sperm sample very early on cos i had a bad feeling ..I thought this would be a problem - and my hubbys count was 10million! THis is not a good result - you really need greater than 30 mil and others say greater than 40 mil...
SO naturally i was devastated - but the FS said "Dont worry - just repeat it" and i did - and it was 32 million - enough to get pg (although not fabulous)....I should also let you know he had pretty **** motillity - 5% as well...

ALL my results were perfect - bloods ok, Lap ok..
But after 11 months my FS put me on CLOMID. ( I dont really know why...cos i was ovulating fine)
First month 50mg BFN
second month 100mg BFN
third month 100mg(this month) BFP!!!!

HOORAY!!
Im soo excited and happy(i think i already said that!!!)

So, what helped this month? I don't know - it could have been the lap i just had, it could have been the clomid, but there were a few other things i did different:

1. Stopped exercising! I normally pole dance and bike ride regularly - I stopped because i went away on holiday and didnt have time...not cos i didnt want to...

2. Drank less coffee! -hardly drank any - mostly cos it was too hot where I live..

3. BD'ed TWICE a day instead of once a day or alternate days like I did previously

4. Put a pillow under my bum (a little one..) and didnt get up till morning

5. A couple of nights I also put my legs up against the wall

6. BD'ed every alternate day from day 8 - but as soon as OPK came back positive bd'ed twice a day for the next few days.

7. TEMPED! temp went the highest its been (37.1 this cycle and remains around this amount)

I did not take folate (had given up on that!) did not use preseed,

Something in the above combination worked out for me!! and I could NOT be happier - I cant get the smile of my face

Ok - so SYMPTOMS

So the first week after O...I was dizzy and lightheaded..but i also had a URINARY TRACT infection

Second week - NOTHING different - but the few days before AF was due I got AF cramps severely!! It didn't feel like AF was coming - It felt like it was HERE.
The pains were worse in the mornings - in fact one morning I grabbed a tampon and ran to the bathroom - so SURE it had come

The day AF was due - nothing most of the day - at night I was gassy and crampy - sure it would come the next day.

NOw - I am STILL getting AF cramps!

BB's you ask? Nothing! well they may be slightly 'plumper' and slightly enlarged nipples - but NO tenderness, no burning..
I never get sore bbs - even with AF...

No increased in urination at ALL

NO nausea or vomiting

No tiredness!!

REally NOTHING! just AF cramps.

OH another thing NO CONSTIPATION!! in fact the opposite! I always do more poo's around AF (sorry TMI) but Im still poo'ing and very windy..sorry but its true..and the smell is...TERRIBLE!!! hahaha!

So, ladies..this is a story of hope - it took over a year - and B-HCG today was 736....
It WILL HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!

This is my month to get off the terrible merry-go-round of TTC - but yours will come too!!its hard to believe - I was HONESTLY thinking it would NEVER happen to me!!

Cross your fingers it will be a sticky pregnancy!!

I will always think of you ladies and be hoping and praying your bfps will come soon...its not a fun time but its worth it in the end...:smiliedance:

We have been TTC'ing for 6-8 months and I am going nuts, that really helped.

Two questions:

1. If you were ovultaing fine, why did FS increase your Clomid? (I am on 50mg and I O on my own just usually later in the cycle)

2. Did your Dh 'hold' his sperm in a certain number of days before your Positive OPK? We were told 5.

So to 'try' and answer your question - he increased the dose to improve the strength and quality of the egg and I had it between day 3-7. It also generally just increases your overall fertility..sometimes letting you ovulate from both ovaries!!
(hence increased chance of twins!)If i hadnt fallen this month he would have kept me on 100mg for three more months before looking at injections...

and as for DH - we first bd'ed day 8 and my first positive OPK was day 12..
My FS is of the school of thought that you need to" clean out the pipes" at least twice a week even when you are not fertile including during AF(i made my dh masturbate during my AF!!)
he does not believe in holding sperm cos it may increase numbers but the sperm is generally more 'sluggish'
does that make sense??its a bit like exercise - the more you do - the stronger you become - same with sperm - the more you ejaculate - the stronger it is :)

Since you where on last I got my BFP too !!! I am 21.5 weeks pregnant now and fell naturally 2 weeks before my first IVF cycle !!! Ains has just started IVF and is doing her first round just after christams !!!

Ains - your BFP is around the corner! My friend and her DH just conceived using IVF - she is 30 and her husband 45 - and he has really low sperm count -0.4 mil - and they did it!!
She said "when your young(and you are hell young!) ..its only just a matter of time - you will eventually get your bfp" !!
I was like - 'sign me up!' but then the miracle arrived!!
YOu just NEVER know - and my other friend tried for 5 years - she did not want to go thru IVF - and what happened - she fell naturally!! weird! but soo exciting - don't give up babe - cos it may still happen yet!!!
Im really going to get busted chatting here - but i will pop on again tonight!

YM3 and I are both wait till birth to find out our babies genders.
Dejeane is also UTD :bee: and is Due in the beginning of March 08 !!!! She is also doing really well and just found out she is having a little girl.

Hey... I have a tip for everyone from my FS that sounds quite strange but she swears by it........... Floss your teeth. She said that it prevents miscarriage and she recommends it to all her patients no matter how far pg they are and if they are still TTC. So there you go despseekbabe. No we arent finding out the sex..I have already had my ultra sounds done and bub is fine and healthy here is a picture for you to have a look..

Miss E knows that a baby lives in mummy's belly but how much more she understands apart from that I not too sure..she doest like it when the baby kicks her though LOL, she tells it to be nice and not be naughty...hehehe.

Yep I have been getting lots of kicks from about 18 weeks...when you first feel them they feel like little soda bubles popping under your skin, I had that from about 16 weeks.

No we didnt end up doing IVF..I feel naturally 2 weeks before my first injection...DH had a high sperm count but an very low morphology of only 5% which is why we where doing IVF along with a few issues i was having with cycle not lasting longer than 2 weeks at a time.

So exciting to have you back :smiliedance:...whats your official Due Date ????

AINSY - you know what? i had NOO symptoms from clomid! NOTHING! i dont know why..no flushes, mood swings..nothing...I had no problem on it - I dont know if it helped me in the end - there were quite a few other things that helped - a holiday, a laparoscopy...I guess im not a symptoms girl...I still dont have a lot of pg symptoms - im actually WISHING for some....no extra peeing and no nausea - just bloatation (is that a word or did i make it up??)HOW ARE THINGS WITH DH AT THE MOMENT????DID YOU END UP TELLING UR EX-BESTY WHERE TO GO???

Thanks for your warm welcome back:doh: I have just tried one cycle of IVF ICSI but it got canceled 2 weeks into it which was sad. It was canceled cause my body wasn't responding and I wasn't producing enough eggs and my hormones weren't right. They had me on a flare cycle which is a bit risky anyway. We will try again in the new year. I have a FS appt on 12/12 to chat about what we will do next.
