Hey girls,

Just wondering if anyone has had a BFP that they think was achieved by using preseed? I was thinking of buying some but wanted to get some feed back first!

thanks:thumbsup:

Hi Pippi

Haven't used preseed, but just wondering if it is because you need the lubrication? I have found that by drinking green tea (2 cups a day) it has dramatically increased my amounts of fertile cervical mucus in my fertile period.

I bought some preseed but forgot to use it!:laughing:

I too drank a green tea, which increased my EWCM.

I got my BFP that month.

Goodluck!

I'm interested in the benefits of preseed as well. I dont need lube so does that mean i dont need preseed?

And how long did it take for your CM to change from drinking green tea?

It could be a coincidence but mine when EW/Watery the day after starting Green Tea.
I'm about 5-6 days off O. NO pos on an OPK. but I had GREAT CM starting 3 days ago.

How long before O should you start drinking the 2 cups and where do you buy it from, (supermarket)?

I don't usually need lubricant but I ended up purchasing Preseed because it thought it couldn't hurt to try it because I have heard a lot of girls swear by it.

I bought Madura green tea bags at the supermarket and started drinking 2 - 3 cups a day since my AF arrived. I was also using OPKs. I normally O on CD15. I started using OPKs from CD11 and never got a positive. I had magical amounts of EWCM on CD12, 13 and 14 and because of that I just knew that I must have O'd on CD 14 (despite no positive OPK). I didn't drink much green tea after about CD17 (I love green tea, so I often drink a cup here or there).

Then I got my BFP 12dpo. I had absolutely no CM, that's why I suspected I was UTD because I usually get a bit before AF. Now I'm 5 weeks and 5 days.

Goodluck girls, and preseed or green tea can't hurt, it's worth a shot!

My little bub is a pre-seed baby

Plus we were using OPK's as well to give us some guidance on when to B'd.

I will definitely use pre-seed and OPK's when it comes time to do this all again.

Can't hurt to try:thumbsup:

Is preseed available at chemists or is it usually bought on the net?

Just found this:

If you enjoy green tea, there's no harm in drinking a cup or two a day while you're trying to conceive. But don't expect it to significantly increase your odds of getting pregnant.

While compounds found in green tea offer some protective health benefits, there has been very little research into the effects of green tea on fertility. Green tea, which is made from unfermented tea leaves, contains chemicals called polyphenols. Experts believe that these chemicals act as antioxidants, substances that protect the body's cells from damage that can lead to cancer and other diseases.

One small study of a nutritional supplement containing green tea extract, chasteberry, folic acid (http://se.babycenter.com/pregnancy/nutrition/whyneedfolicacid/) and other vitamins and minerals showed promising results. In the study, a third of the 15 women taking the supplement were pregnant after five months, while none of the 15 women taking a placebo had conceived. It's hard to draw any firm conclusions from this study, as it is much too small. Also, the researchers don't point specifically to the green tea extract as having a significant effect.

In fact, green tea contains caffeine (http://se.babycenter.com/preconception/activelytrying/caffeineandfertility/) and tannic acid, which have both been linked to fertility problems and an increased risk of miscarriage (http://se.babycenter.com/pregnancy/griefandloss/understandingmiscarriage/) when consumed in large amounts.

Before you throw away that teapot, though, keep in mind that most green teas contain significantly less caffeine than black tea or coffee. Although the caffeine count varies depending on the brew, an average cup of green tea contains about 20 milligrams (mg) of caffeine, compared to a cup of black tea, which has about 50mg.

A cup of freshly brewed coffee has about 100mg of caffeine, while instant coffee has about 75mg. Some speciality coffees may contain much more. To be safe, it's probably wise to limit your caffeine intake to less than 300mg a day.

One study has linked circumstantial evidence about the number of neural tube defects in babies, such as spina bifida, to women drinking a large amount of green tea at around the time of conception. Spina bifida is a serious condition, which occurs when the tube around the central nervous system - the neural tube - fails to close completely. Neural tube defects such as spina bifida are usually associated with folic acid deficiency. Because the data for this study is very weak we cannot assume that avoiding green tea around the time of conception will reduce the risk of neural tube defects, but more research is needed (Mennen et al 2005).

Before green tea did you pick up a surge on OPK? I dont want to drink green tea and then not detect my surge!

Just wondering if someone can please tell me where you buy pre seed eg. is it available form a chemist or only over the internet and if so what site is a good/safe one for this? And from what day in your cycle do you start using it?

Secondly, I am a coffee drinker and do not like the taste of regular black tea. I'm willing to try green tea but can a tea drinker out there please tell me if it tastes much the same as black tea?

Also I am on CD4 and was wondering if it's too late to start drinking it today/tomorrow for this cycle?

Thanks for your replies and tips on the green tea! I have tried it once but hated the taste....maybe il try it again!!

I usually get great EWM these days, I was just intrested in Preseed cause its meant to help the keep the swimmers alive and get the up there. Most lubes kill sperm but preseed does the oposite.

Im a long term TTCer and was just thinking of things that might help-maybe il just try it!

Wousl still be intrsested in hearing from anyone who TTC's for a while before using preseed to get their BFP!

thanks heaps girls

Singa - I never used OPKs before, so don't know if it effected the result.

Mummynow - Green tea tastes very different to black tea. Some people don't like it, but some (like me) love it! You can also get it with other flavours added in to change the taste.

It isn't something to go overboard on, like anything, you just take it in moderation. I basically started drinking it to replace my usual coffee and tea. It has less caffiene, so is a healthier alternative anyway.

In regards to the preseed - it helps the spermies live in an environment similar to EWCM, so helps them to live a bit longer. Definitely worth a try. I also bought mine from Lullabyconceptions.com.au I don't think the pharmacies have it.
